Twisting around, she sat sideways in my lap, her small hand cupping my cheek. “I love you, too.”

“Every time you come in this office, I want you to think about the fun we just had in this chair.”

“Every time?” she asked, raising her eyebrows at me.

“Every time,” I repeated, annunciating the words clearly.

“Come here, love,” I whispered, guiding her head toward my shoulder until her body leaned against mine. “I know you’re tired. Let me take you home.” I kissed her on the forehead.

“We can try the desk tomorrow tonight.”

She shot up, grinning, her mouth gaping.

I loved the way she was so easy to shock, and I loved the way that she would do anything for me. I loved the way she loved Whiskey Nights, and I loved the way we were perfectly matched.

But mostly, I just loved her.

  About the Author

Suzannah Daniels has had an affinity for words for as long as she can remember. She grew up in North Georgia with four brothers, so she learned at an early age to admire snakes and motorcycles. When she wasn’t pestering her brothers, she could usually be found reading or writing.

After high school, she married the love of her life, and they had three beautiful children, the oldest of which became a sweet angel at the age of five. Currently, she lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee with her husband and college-aged daughter. Her son lives nearby. The family pets include a black Lab mix, a Basset Hound, a Shih Tzu, and a sweet, little kitty.
