Under the Tree

It was the singing that woke her. The verses of “You can ring my bell” filtered out from the kitchen and curled her lips into a smile. Simone sat up, stretched and pulled tinsel from her hair before taking a bow off her ass. Damn, how was it you couldn’t get those little things to stick to wrapping paper but they pulled at her skin like they were stuck on with the stickiest substance on earth?
“There goes my idea of sticking bows on my nipples tonight,” she mumbled as she followed the most awful singing.
Rafe spun as soon as she entered the kitchen. She didn’t know which looked better—him standing completely naked in their kitchen, or that piece of pie he was currently shoveling in his mouth.
She narrowed her eyes. “In all the plates you dirtied, THERE WAS NOT ONE SINGLE PIECE OF PIE.”
“Why, was I not enough dessert for you?”
“You're the best dessert; now give me some of that pie.”
“I don’t know why you want THIS pie,” Rafe shoveled another bite in his mouth, “when you have the best PIE on earth.”
“I know two things...my pie is the best and if you ever want any more of MY PIE you will give me THAT pie.”
Rafe groaned as he swallowed the last bite and set the plate in the sink. Stalking slowly, he snatched her to him and kissed her soundly before placing her on the countertop and handing her the pie from which he’d pilfered a slice. He gave her a fork and waited until she delved in, moaning and groaning over his culinary mastery. Then, when she was completely near orgasmic food bliss, he pulled up a low stool and delved into to his own present.
Epilogue
Rafe sat with his back pressed against the sofa and Simone snuggled deep in his arms. A light blanket covered them as they watched the twinkling glow from the Christmas tree that spun slowly in the corner. Wrinkling his nose, he thought that next year he’d revisit their choice of a real tree. Though the scent of a real tree was welcome, the pine needles were currently clinging to less than desirable places. Stretching around his slumbering wife, Rafe reached for the phone and called his best friend. He thought of the conversation he’d had with his friend earlier about Simone’s sister, Carla. He hoped Santa left his two friends exactly what Rafe himself had found under the tree. The best Christmas present ever, family and love.

Dréa Riley
Dréa Riley can always be found one of two favorite places; the kitchen or the computer. A relaxing time for her would be concocting a delicious dish while connecting with her coterie online. Whenever something off the wall happens, Dréa will most likely be found in the middle of it, trying to look innocent and usually failing. With a heart bigger than the Grand Canyon and a mouth more lethal than an injection, this diva might save the world and cuss it out at the same time. This steak-loving sister always finds a way to juggle work, reading, and sleep. She channels the support from her family, friends, and fans into her sitcom lifestyle and stories.
