"I knew you mentioned the herds, but I never imagined…"

"Yeah, they are big bastards. Now, back to the city so we can get Bollik on charges of attempted murder."

He chuckled and turned the shuttle toward the city, the rescued men huddling on the floor and dozing the moment they stopped moving.

As they flew over the herds and the forest shook beneath them. She smiled at the view of the planet that she loved and may never walk on again.

Looking to her partner, she concluded that it was a trade she was willing to make for a life of adventure and the possibility of true happiness with the beast she had rescued by virtue of his eyes alone.

  Epilogue

Their courtship took on a peculiar tone, but with every assignment they went on, Rumble presented her with a small present from the planet of their adventure.

Eventually, she had to throttle down her instincts and make the first move.

Ecros kept the door between their rooms open and she dressed in nothing more than her long hair to crawl into his bed.

He seemed surprised by her appearance in his bed, but when she started to nuzzle and bite, he flipped her to her back and moved over her without hesitation.

After two months of foreplay, she was more than ready for him and with every rocking thrust, their mind bond wove stronger until she could no longer determine which body was doing what to whom.

They rested and tried it again, shifting position several times until they shuddered together. He rested his chin on her spine and gave a gusty sigh. "Thank you. I was turning blue and not from oxygen deprivation."

"I was going a little buggy myself. Thankfully, the wait is over." She enjoyed the novelty of the overpowering scent they created together. Wrinkling her nose, she suggested, "Perhaps we should take a turn in the lav before round two."

"Round two? More like round four."

She thought about it and counted on her fingers. "You are correct, sir, I owe you an apology."

"I will take it out of your hide." He nipped at her spine and took her hand, hauling her to her feet.

They were halfway to his lav when Haunt came up through the floor. "You have an assignment. You have to find a lost research party in the woods of W'ndl." Haunt grinned. "And may I add…about fucking time."

As their commander faded through the floor. Ashlin looked to her partner. She kept her face straight for three whole seconds before she let out a joyous laugh. "See? Eat dessert first."

  Author's Note

And, back to Station 13. I was glad to be able to bring back the avatars from Tears of the Star, Fixer and Shade from Freak Factor and many other books, and of course, Kaylee and Dirven from Station 13.

Yes, I reuse my characters, but as long as I don't kill them, you can always see your favourites in a future book.

  Thanks for visiting.

  About the Author

Viola Grace was born in Manitoba, Canada where she still resides today. She really likes it there. She has no pets and can barely keep sea monkeys alive for a reasonable amount of time. Her line of day job tends to be analytical which leaves her mind hopping to weave stories. No co-worker is safe from her character analysis. In keeping with busy hands are happy hands, her hobbies have included cross-stitch, needlepoint, quilting, costuming, cake decorating, baking, cooking, metal work, beading, sculpting, painting, doll making, henna tattoos, chain mail, and a few others that have been forgotten. It is quite often that these hobbies make their way into her tales.

Viola's fetishes include boots and corsetry, and her greatest weakness is her uncontrollable blush. Her writing actively pursues the Happily Ever After that so rarely occurs in nature. It is an admirable thing and something that we should all strive for. To find one that we truly like, as well as love.
