LOCAL NEWS
So, I have a desk (or two) again!
During COVID, I have been working out of a home office in our condo on the Strip. After grieving through the changing of what I knew to be reality for fifty years, I dealt with working in a small space.
While one of my walls was all glass to see outside, that didn’t allow too much because the blinds needed to be closed, or I had an office that might as well have been an Easy Bake™ Oven.
So, I kept the blinds closed, no seeing outside.
My wife and I had plans to move eventually. The condo was never our “forever home,” but more our home for right now.
In late May, early June I decided I would push to find out if we could move up the timeframe on switching homes from the condo to something that allowed me to see outside.
Fortunately, Judith was amenable to my desire to look around.
We moved close to mid-July, and three weeks later, I have a desk I can use to type these Author Notes. Previously, I was working off of a nice set of table and chairs (outdoor furniture) the previous owners left with us.
That was the good part. The bad part is we are in the hot part of the Las Vegas / Henderson summer. Temperatures during the afternoon are between 108-112 on average.
I drank a LOT of water.
I didn’t work much past noon or one before I packed up my stuff and moved inside. I like my routine, and for three additional weeks, I’ve had no routine. I am looking forward to trying to create a routine here in Henderson that will last me for years to come.
Book 09 has been finished and sent to Dreamscape, our Audio partners. Now, I need to write the author notes for that book…soonish.
Because it’s not happening this morning, Mr. Campbell, no matter how nicely you asked. I have a strong need for breakfast ;-)
