Falling Into You (Geek to Chic)

by Brinks, Nikki

Alex placed his forearms on the table, clasping his hands together and leaning in. “You’re right, you’re not the first girl in his life. But you’re the first girl he has let into his life in any meaningful way. After a few months with bitchy sorority girls in college, Derek came to believe that women only wanted him because of money or the way he looked. After that he shut the dating world off. You are the first woman he has had any true interest in a long time.” Alex sighed. “My point is, don’t hurt him. Don’t prove to him that the world outside his work bubble isn’t worth leaving that bubble for.” Alex looked directly at her as he spoke that last part.

Roni took his hand. “I am not out to hurt him. I like Derek, a lot. I don’t date much to be honest with you. So when I do they have to be special.” She tried to reassure him with a smile. Her phone chirped again.

“I know you are not out to hurt him. And it isn’t just him I am worried about here. I know Derek and I know he is going to do some stupid things. Just try and remember he does care for you he just doesn’t have a lot of experience with dating or love.”

Love? Did Alex think Derek was in love with her? That thought brought a big smile to her face. And another chirp from her phone.

“I think you should answer those texts someone is obviously desperate to get hold of you.” He smirked.

Roni giggled and nodded. She pulled her phone out of her purse. Five text messages all from Izzy not Derek. This can’t be good. Roni thought.

“Is it lover boy wondering when you are going to get your ass into work?” Alex teased.

“No, all the texts are from Izzy.” His face paled at her answer.

He coughed. “Well, we better get to the office. Um, thanks for listening to me about Derek.” He had barely finished the sentence before he practically ran out the door.

Roni sat in her seat for a beat, wondering what the hell that was all about. Then is dawned on her that Izzy hadn’t been home last night when she arrived back from Derek’s. She had been living up to her bet to cook Alex dinner. That was when she simultaneously realized two things, she had unintentionally reneged on her deal to make Derek dinner and Izzy must be pissed off at Alex to be texting her so early. “Hey Neanderthal!” Roni yelled after Alex. She ran to catch up with him. “Would you like to explain to me why Izzy is texting me so early? She made you dinner last night. So what did your Neanderthal brain get your mouth to say? In other words, how big of a mess am I cleaning up today?” She was now standing in front of him blocking his path to his car. Her hands on her hips standing as tall and menacing as she could.

“Now why do you think these texts have anything to do with me?” Alex drawled giving her his best innocent look. He didn’t do innocent well.

“Somehow I just have a feeling this is about you and your poor manners.” Roni countered. His boyish charm might work on ninety-nine percent of the women in the world but not her. She stood impassive waiting for him to fess up to his poor behavior.

“I will have you know I was raised with excellent manners. You will just have to see what the Demon Pixie has to say.” He smiled again. Then he picked her up and put her down out of his way, winking before he climbed into his car.

Frustrating Neanderthal! Roni stuck her tongue out at him. He had a way of bringing out the immature nature in anyone. He was like an annoying older brother. As she walked to her car she glanced at her phone reading the text.

Izzy: Did you already leave for work?

Izzy: I assume that you and geek boy made up.

Izzy: Can’t wait to hear about it.

Izzy: BTW Super Asshole has a new name Supreme Douche Bag!

Roni had to laugh at that one. She wondered if Alex would get mad if she addressed him as Supreme Douche Bag in a staff meeting.

Izzy: Oh, and tell him to fuck off for good!

Roni sighed. Alex had definitely said something very wrong last night. Roni put her phone in her purse, started her car and headed to the office. She would figure out what to do about the Supreme Douche Bag and the Demon Pixie later.

Derek was thankful that Alex had sent him a text warning him that Roni was on her way into the office. After she left last night he did what he always did when he couldn’t sleep, he came into the office. He was still looking a little rough when Alex had text him.

He ran into the bathroom attached to his office, quickly shaved, made his hair more presentable, brushed his teeth and changed into one of the suits he kept in the office for these types of situations. By the time he heard a small knock on his door, he was fresh as the morning sun. “Come in.”

Roni breezed into his office carrying a cup of coffee and her iPad. His brain fizzled out a little bit when he saw her. She was wearing a cream v neck sweater, with a light pink chemise under it, a gray pencil shirt and cream stilettos. Nothing provocative, the outfit was totally office appropriate. He, however, knew what was hiding beneath.

“Good Morning, Mr. Callaway. Here is your morning coffee. After this cup however if you want any more, you will have to venture into the village for some. Don’t be scared of the villagers, I hear they are friendly.”

Derek laughed, taking the coffee, she held out for him. “Ms. Atlas, I don’t know if I am ready for the villagers just yet. I think this ogre might scare them.”

“Oh no Mr. Callaway, it is time for the villagers to see this mythical ogre in the flesh.” With that, she sat down in the chair in front of his desk, crossing her legs, letting her stiletto fall off her foot slightly. “So other than working on your social skills today. What would you like me to start on?”

He had barely registered that she had asked a question, his mind was being overrun with lustful thoughts instead of the business at hand. He was staring at her legs with great appreciation when she coughed. Apparently he had been silent for too long. He shook his head in an attempt to return to his CEO persona. “Sorry.” He sheepishly replied. She laughed at him. “I believe Alex needs you to meet with him briefly to go over the numbers for the Maddox Corporation you put together. He also wanted to speak to you about looking over the actual for this current contracts, which should take you most of the day. Beyond that, make sure we have everything together for our meeting with Collin. I will be in the conference room on the third floor most of the day with my team testing the new additions to the drone security.”

Roni bit her bottom lip and looked up at him through her long lashes, with a suggestive look on her face. She rose from her seat coming around the desk. He watched her movement in a manner that resembled a predator stalking its prey. She moved some items on his desk, then took a seat on the furniture piece directly in front of him. “I noticed most of the staff doesn’t get in until 8:00 or so. Other than Alex and Mrs. Frostberry, who are, on the other side of the floor, we are alone. Whatever shall we do?” As she spoke, she had hiked up her pencil skirt allowing her to be able to place a stiletto clad foot on each of his armrests. Derek swallowed hard. His hands, having a mind of their own, went to her calves. His fingers wrapped around them, caressing the soft skin. “Now Mr. Callaway, I believe as your dutiful assistant I should help you relax.” She leaned forward grabbing his tie to pull him toward her. Derek immediately followed her unspoken command and moved closer to her. Abandoning his chair to stand between her legs.

He licked his lips. “Why, yes Ms. Atlas I believe it is most definitely part of your duties. Let’s see what we can do to help both of us relax.” His voice dropped into a husky hum on the last word. He leaned over her, kissing her passionately. Her tongue automatically met his. It had not even been a day since he had had her, but it felt like a lifetime. He needed her now.

Her hands were in his hair, pulling him deeper into the kiss. Her left leg now wrapped around his hip, pulling them so close together not even a piece of paper would have fit between them. That is when he noticed what her outfit was missing. He broke the kiss, looking at her in stunned awe. “Picking up on my habit of going commando?” Every man
in the world loved it when a woman ‘neglected’ to wear panties. His right hand slowly moved up her left thigh towards the reward located between her legs.

“You’re going to have to keep moving your hand up to see if you are right or not.” She said in an overly innocent voice, before she pushed his chin up with her hand to gain access to his neck. His brain was no more than a cloud of hormones at this point. She was licking, nipping and kissing his neck, driving him absolutely crazy with lust. He knew he needed to return the favor.

He quickly trailed his hand up her thigh to her waiting heat. She moaned softly into his neck as his hand made first contact with her sex. He gently pushed on her clit, causing her to wiggle closer to the contact. Derek felt her hands moving down his chest towards his belt buckle. He pushed a single finger into her. “Roni, you’re so wet. I don’t think I can go slowly right now. I need… I need to fuck you right here on my desk hard and fast.” The words were said out of pure desperation. He needed to be inside her, now that he knew how ready she was for him.

She lifted her head leaning in close to his ear to whisper. “Derek, fuck me as hard and fast as you can. Now!” She bit his earlobe for emphasis.

Derek didn’t need to be told twice. He kissed her with everything he had one more time, then he pulled her from his desk spinning her around. He gently pushed on her back so that she lay on his desk. Her breasts were pressed into his desk. He pulled his pants open, thankful that she had already undone his belt. From his wallet he pulled a condom. Derek leaned over her to whisper in her ear. “Hold on to the desk, tight. And remember quiet is key. No matter how hard or fast I fuck you, you have to be quiet.” She nodded and let out a small quiet moan as he spoke. He kissed and licked her neck as he lined his hard sheathed cock up to her dripping opening.

One thrust and he was in. One thrust and he almost blew his load. He took a minute to regain his control before he stood tall behind her, grabbed her hips and fucked her like he was about to go off to war. His desk moved slightly with each powerful thrust. Her hips pushed back against his, her fists tightening on the oak. He could feel her inner walls closing in. She was close. “Harder Derek, as hard as you can.” Roni whispered, almost moaning the words.

Who was he to deny the woman? He pulled all the way out of her before slamming back in. Over and over again, he pushed as far into her as was physically possible. She smacked the desk, her head rose up. Her sex grabbed hold of his dick with a vice grip. He couldn’t hold off any longer. With a low growl in the back of his throat, he came inside of her.

Slowly he came back down from his orgasm. Gently he pulled out of her warm wet sheath. She made a noise of displeasure at his departure. He tossed the condom into the trash and righted his clothing. He then helped her up and pulled her skirt back into place. He crashed into his desk chair, pulling her onto his lap at the same time. “That was a first, I have never done anything like that in my office.” He nuzzled her neck holding her close.

“I like the idea that I was the one to deflower your office.” Roni smiled.

A smile that melted Derek’s heart, making him want to promise her the world. He said the only thing he could. “Me too.”

They sat there for a few more minutes in silence. Both lost in their own worlds it seemed. It was Roni who broke the embrace first. “Well the villagers will be arriving soon. It wouldn’t do for them to see me socializing so closely with the ogre.” She winked.

As he seemed to do a lot around her, he laughed. “No, I guess not. A pretty girl like you might get a bad reputation hanging out with an antisocial ogre like myself.”

“Soon to be a reformed Ogre. May I use your bathroom?” She asked. He nodded, kissing her quickly as she stood.

  ***

Roni cleaned up in Derek’s bathroom. Making sure she looked presentable. Noting the pile of discarded clothes on the floor of the bathroom along with the stubble in the sink. She shook her head. She needed to get him to rest a little. She would work on that tonight. Today she had to get him to talk to his staff. Roni fluffed her hair one last time before exiting the bathroom. Derek was on the phone in full CEO mode when she returned to his office. She was happy he had at least relaxed yesterday.

He had told her he would be in the conference room with his team the majority of the day, so her first act to reform the ogre would be to make sure he greeted his staff and she would order lunch and snacks to make sure they were comfortable. She would also schedule some bogus meeting later in the day to ensure he allowed them to leave at a decent hour.

She also had selfish reasons for wanting his staff to be gone early. If his staff was gone, she may be able to convince him to leave and go have some fun.

She waved at him and began to leave him to his calls. “Let me call you back.” She heard him say from behind her. She turned to find him next to her. He wrapped his arms around her. “Since I am not going to see you most of the day, I think a proper goodbye is in order.” He kissed her softly at first then his tongue met hers and all softness left the kiss. Replaced by passion. He suddenly stepped away from her. Running his hands through his hair before looking up and smiling. “Sorry. Didn’t mean for it to turn into that. And if I kept going we would be back on my desk again.” He winked at her.

“Mmmm I liked being on your desk.” She purred. “But we have work to do. And I really want to get this work done so we can enjoy our evening.” She ran her hands down his chest before pushing away and sauntering out of his office.

Roni spent the better half of the morning organizing Derek’s schedule to better utilize his time. She was starting to get the impression that his assistant had given into his absurd notion that he needed to be in every meeting and in on every decision no matter how mundane. After reviewing the agenda or a brief description of every meeting on his calendar, Roni decided what value Derek’s presence would bring to the meeting. Other than the meetings in his department, and a few budget meetings, she alerted the lead managers that Derek would no longer be attending the meeting. She asked the manager in charge of the meeting to send her the minutes and any additional notes.

She knew Derek would probably freak out at first regarding her unilateral decision to end his endless meeting schedule but at the moment she didn't care. If he had less meetings he had more time to do his own work. The managers all seemed excited to have Derek declining meeting invites. One even mentioned that now she would be able to accomplish her goals during the meeting without Derek’s distractions and endless questions. That had made Roni giggle.

At 11:00 lunch arrived for Derek’s meeting. Instead of simply letting the delivery guy take it to the conference room, she decided to deliver the goodies herself. She was curious to see how Derek was doing in his quest to be more human. She quietly entered the room and began setting out the food on the back table. The boys can help themselves to the food during the course of the meeting.

She casually walked around the room. Acting as though she was throwing away empty water bottles and adjusting computer cords. Derek smiled and shook his head, obviously on to her spy game. She noticed he had taken off both his suit jacket and tie. The guys on his team had followed his lead and at the very least loosened their ties.

Derek’s voice held more enthusiasm as he spoke to his team than it had in the past. He usually sounded like a robot when he spoke in business settings. Giving the shortest, most concise answers with no additional information. Today he seemed to be attempting to add a few additional explanations and reasons for having to add or delete a code. She even heard him chuckle at a small joke Jim told.

She knew this ‘make Derek human’ campaign, she was launching would take time. She did believe he had made some progress today in that arena. The feeling in the room was far less tense than usual and satisfied Derek was playing nice, Roni returned to her desk to begin some work for Alex.

  Chapter Twenty - Two

Derek and Roni were heading to 5280 to meet up with everyone. It was her suggestion that instead of m
eeting Collin and his partners in a stuffy restaurant or conference room to further discuss the merger of the two companies, they meet at their new hangout. It was low key enough that they'd could hear one another but also had pool tables and TV’s to keep them entertained and keep the meeting light.

As they drove into the brewery he was lost in thought about how she had taken control of his schedule and he had not even noticed for three days. That's right, it took him three days to figure out that he suddenly had extra hours in his day to complete so much more of his own work. That morning he had to ask Roni if the meeting were being canceled or invites lost in Jemma’s absence. The one word answer of “nope” made him suspicious, so he questioned her again. This time he asked why he was not running from meeting to meeting.

Roni calmly informed him that without a word or even a notice to him, she had cut out what she declared the meetings that he had no business attending in the first place since they were well beyond his expertise. He would like to say he was a man about the entire transgression, but that would be a huge lie. He threw a temper tantrum that most three year olds could only dream of. He demanded that she put each and every meeting back on his schedule and contact the managers.

In response to his temper tantrum, she did what any woman would have done, told him no and went to get coffee. By the time she returned, he was calmer about her executive decision. He didn’t go as far as to tell her she was right, but he did apologize.

“You’re very quiet. You’re not still pouting over missing a few pointless meetings are you?” Roni asked with a huge smile on her face. He had to laugh.

“No, because us CEO types never pout.”

“Pouting is against the CEO code, but temper tantrums are acceptable?” She laughed as she spoke.

“Tantrums are encouraged, why do you think we always get our way?” He flashed her his killer smile.

“I can only imagine what you were like as a child if this is how you behave as an adult.” Roni smirked.
