"What are you doing?” I asked trembling.
"Shut up and walk toward the door," he barked.
I was shaking so badly with each step that I took. I opened the door and walked down the stairs to the bottom where there were two guards standing by.
"The human female has killed Titeq! I will kill her now! I will kill her and take her body to Earth, as was the request of Titeq! Ready a ship now!” he shouted.
There was complete chaos and commotion as a few guards ran up the stairs and others ran down the hall in the direction that Viqer was taking me at knife point. The entire fortress was buzzing with activity, and it was all because of me. The leader had been murdered again, and to the Corillion warriors, it was the same assassin that had killed their first leader, Cultan.
"Let me go,” I said under my breath to Viqer. “How could you do this to me?”
"Shut up, murderer. Walk!" he barked at me.
Tears began to fall down my cheeks as I stepped defiantly with him behind me. I almost wanted to make a quick movement so that he could just stab me right then and there. I had enough of this brutality, and now my heart was broken.
Why did I trust him at all? Titeq had even warned me himself. Viqer did not even tell me that he had a wife. Now I realized that he was just using me the same way that Titeq had to used me. Viqer had his own agenda. He wanted to be the new leader, and I was the perfect way to make that happen. For Titeq, it all happened by accident, but Viqer had planned it out. He waited until I was alone with Titeq, that way no one would see that it was him that killed Titeq, and not I.
It was the perfect plan. Now no one would know the difference. Viqer would be the hero that would take me and kill me and take my body to Earth and look like the Corillion warrior that carried out the mission that Titeq wanted him to. Titeq had already named him second in command, and everybody was there to witness that order. Now all Viqer had to do was grab it at the first opportunity. Having a human female assassin at the fortress was the perfect way to do it. Sure, I knew and Viqer and Titeq knew that I was no assassin, but the rest of the Corillion tribe still thought of me in that way. There would be no one to tell them otherwise.
"You are a rat. You are using me just so that you can be the new leader,” I said to him.
"Just shut up and walk,” he whispered in my ear in an angry way.
"Why should I? I should yell out that you killed Titeq!"
"No. Do not be foolish, Saramina. Just do what I say. Do it, or I will jab this knife into your neck this second,” he said.
"Fine. Do it already. I am sick of waiting for it. Just take my life,” I said, crying hysterically.
"No, that is not what I want. Just keep walking,” he said again in an angry way. I was so confused by his insanity as he forced me out of the fortress onto a launch pad.
"Open the door! There is no time to lose. The longer this human female stays here, more Corillion will die! I will take her down to Earth to kill her and put her on display as Titeq wanted!” Viqer shouted.
The guard saluted him and in a frenzy, opened the door to a small spaceship. Viqer pushed me inside, and I landed on my knees.
"Get in there, you human female scum!” he shouted.
I crawled on the floor further into the ship. Viqer entered the ship and closed the door behind him. He picked me up off the floor and sat me in a chair and chained me to it.
"Don't move,” he said as he sat in the pilot chair and began to push on controls, ready for lift off.
"Shut up and don't talk to me like that. I hate you,” I said crying.
"Listen to me. I need you to shut up so I can get us out of here. Now I have gotten us this far, but at any second they can shoot us down. Now do you want to escape or do you want to sit here and argue with me about how my escape plan hurt your feelings?!" he shouted at me with an angry look. My mouth fell open in shock. Then he smiled at me and said, “That's what I thought. Now I need silence so I can get us out of here.”
"You piece of shit! You had me scared shitless! This is your escape plan?” I shouted at him.
The engine turned on, and we were set to take off. As he pushed buttons and pulled on the levers, he continued to be annoyed with my questions.
"I'm sorry I did not have the time to inform you of my plans. But I really didn't have a good plan and I just kind of went with it. I didn't plan on it happening like this. But a good warrior is able to improvise. Firing engines for lift-off,” he said as the ship shot straight into the air and into the blackness of space. He sighed in relief.
"So you are not going to kill me?” I asked him, still not sure of what was going on.
"No. That was all just for show so that we could get out of there. I had to make it look real. You had to look scared for real and not fake it. I am not going to kill you, Saramina. How can I kill you when I am in love with you?” he said to me.
"What?” I asked.
"Putting her into hyperspeed. There is only one place where we can be safe now. That is where we are headed,” he said as the ship shot forward.
"What? What did you say?” I asked.
"I said there is only one place that we will…”
"No. Not that; what was the other thing that you said?”
He got up from his chair and came over to me. He unlocked the chains and pulled me to my feet. He held me against his strong chest and against his hard blues scales.
"I love you, Saramina. I love you with such passion and furiousness that I cannot control it."
Chapter 12
VIQER KRILLIS
"You do? You love me?” Saramina asked me with eyes full of tears. My heart was hurting that just moments ago I had to hold her at knifepoint. But it was the only way to get her out of there and make it believable. I did not want to put her through such a terrible and a scary experience by my hand because she was already expecting me to kill her. That was my order from the day that I left to hunt her down, and up until a few days ago, I had planned on doing it.
"Yes, I love you. I hope that I have proved that to you now,” I said to her as I pulled her tightly to me.
"I love you too, Viqer. This has been so crazy and strange, but I know in my heart that I love you even when I felt in danger from you,” she said to me.
"The moment that I saw Titeq on top of you, I went into a different place in my mind. I had no control over it. All I wanted to do was kill him and get him away from you. Seeing him naked ready to take you by force was something that I could not handle. I opened the door, and I walked straight over to him and pushed my dagger through the back of his head without thinking twice about it. That is how I know I love you. I betrayed my leader and my entire tribe and planet just to save you from him. I feel this strong need to protect you at all costs. I am bonded to you; I want no one else but you.”
With those last words, she pulled away from me and looked at me strangely.
"That reminds me, you already have a wife. You have a human female wife?” she said to me in anger.
"I did have one. I set her free. I put her on a ship and sent her to Earth today. She has never been with offspring. I have never loved her, and she never loved me. It was her choice to go back to Earth, and I sent her even though I knew it would be putting myself in danger. It was wrong for me to take her in the first place, but I had nothing to compare it to until I met you,” I said to her.
"So that means you want only me?” she asked.
"Yes. I only want you. I have given up everything for you. When the tribe finds out that I did not go through with the second part of my mission to kill you and take you to Earth, they will hunt us. We can never go back there. We can never be inside the Corillion galaxy again. I have given up my home and my life to be with you, and yet I am happy to do so because I love you so much, Saramina.”
"I am so happy to hear you say that Viqer. I love you so much. I want to be with you. I don't care where we go as long as we are together. I don't care what we do except that you were there to
protect me and love me,” she said to me.
I pulled her to me and covered her trembling mouth with mine. I kissed her deeply. I kissed her passionately, remembering that only moments before, it was possible that I would never kiss her again. I wanted to devour her. She pushed her hands against my chest and ran them over my scales. I rubbed my hands down her back. It felt good, and I felt a sense of satisfaction that I had her with me and that we were far from danger. Then she stopped kissing me and looked up at me with her brown eyes. Her soft freckles across her face made her look delicate and small. I couldn't believe that I was supposed to think of her as a danger and an assassin when she was so beautiful. I had let my loyalty to the Corillion blind me to what was right.
"So where is this that we are going? Where can we go to be safe?” she asked me.
"It is not a question of being safe. There will always be danger in the far reaches of the galaxy. It is more a question of about blending in. Where can we go where a human female with a Corillion warrior is not something that is unusual? I think you know the answer because you have already been there," I said to her.
Her eyes opened wide, and she said, “Do you mean the outlaw planet? The planet where there is so much trouble and chaos, Etora?” she said to me.
"Yes, that is exactly what I mean. It is the only place that we can get lost amongst the millions of different alien races living there. Don't worry, we do not have to live in the city of Ceta. There are plenty of places for us to go on the planet. You will see. We will travel the planet and find the perfect spot, whereever you want. You may pick our home,” I said to her.
A tear fell down her cheek, and I was confused.
"Why do you cry? Does that not make you happy?” I said as I wiped the tear away from her cheek with my thumb.
"These are tears of happiness. I am crying because I am happy. I am crying because you said our home. I am glad that you think of it in that way. Because soon there will be more than just the two of us," she said.
"What do you mean? I don't understand?” I asked her.
"I am with offspring. I am going to have your child,” she smiled at me.
I had no words. I picked her up and spun her around and planted a kiss on her.
"This is true? I cannot believe it. Why did you not tell me before?” I asked her.
"Because it is hard to tell someone that you are pregnant with their offspring when they are ordered to kill you,” she said as she arched an eyebrow at me.
"Yes, I understand. That is all behind us now. Let us start new. Let us start fresh. We, the three of us, will be happy in our new home.”
"How long will it take us to get there?”
"Five days from now since we are in hyperspeed,” I said to her.
She smiled and said, “I wonder what we can do with our time?”
I smiled at her I knew exactly what she meant. I kissed her and picked her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist. I wanted to ravage every part of her. I pressed her against the wall and then pulled away.
“I do not want to hurt you, or our child,” I said as I put my hand on her belly.
“Then you better be delicate with me,” she whispered.
I groaned and carried her to a room and laid her on the bed. One item after another, I took off her boots, her jacket, and dress. Now she lay before me naked.
“Your turn,” she said.
“Yes, anything for you, my mate, my love,” I said to her.
I pulled off my boots, belt, and trousers and stood naked in front of her. She sighed and said, “Now take me, my Corillion warrior. We have cheated death, and we must celebrate.”
I smiled and said, “Spoken like a true warrior.” I moved over her naked body and touched every inch of her with my hands. I cupped her breasts and kissed her neck and her cheek. “I will never let you go. I will always protect you. I will protect you with my life, my Saramina.”
“And I will always love you, my Viqer Krillis.”
I kissed her mouth and pressed the tip of my cock into her opening. I pushed inside her warm center. I groaned and growled with delight. I never thought I would feel her again. She wrapped her legs around my hips and pulled me to her forcing me to moved deeper in her and faster.
“Patience, my Saramina, we have all the time in the world now,” I whispered to her.
She smiled and kissed my chest, placing soft kisses against my scales. I moved in and out of her, enjoying the sensation of being inside of her as her hands roamed over my body. We were finally together, with no secrets and no orders between us. We were free to be who we were, and it was a great feeling.
For the rest of the journey to Etora, we hardly left that bed. I checked on the flight path and did ship checks when I could, but then I would return to her in the bed and indulge in the fact that we were together and no one could stop us from doing that.
“How much longer?” she asked after days in bed.
“We will be arriving in three hours. Maybe it is time to get dressed,” I said to her as I moved from the bed.
She moaned. “Oh, do we have too?”
“Yes, but just until I put us in a suitable home and then we will be able to lay in bed as much as we want.”
“But how? How can we buy a home?” she asked.
“I will show you,” I said as I held her hand and led her out of the room.
Chapter 13
SARAMINA JEDSIN
I had never felt so happy in my life. Everything that I had been through was worth it just to be in this moment. Just when I thought that Viqer had betrayed me, there was something much more complex going on. He was saving me. He had confessed his love for me.
Now, we were three hours away from our new home planet of Etora. It was completely unbelievable to think that after trying to stay on Earth for so long, I was going to spend the rest of my life on a planet that I had never even heard of until that day in the slave market.
Viqer held my hand and led me to a small room that had weapons and a locked box.
"What is it? Are you going to sell these weapons so that we can buy a home?” I asked him.
"No, we are going to use this,” he said as he opened the box and pulled out several bags of money.
"Is that what I think it is?” I asked as I opened the bag.
"Yes, it is gold coin. I was to use it to buy guns on Etora during the mission when we first landed. But that purchase did not go as planned. It has been sitting here waiting to be used to buy guns. I chose our escape ship well.”
I laughed and hugged him. He was a brilliant warrior; everyone had been right about that. “Well, I don’t think we will have a problem finding a home now.” I kissed him on the mouth, and he pulled me close.
“Yes, it will be whatever you choose it to be. Now let’s go get dressed so that we can start our search,” he said as he patted me on the bottom.
“Yes, and maybe I can get some new clothes too,” I said to him with a laugh. I had been in only two outfits throughout our whole ordeal, and I needed to be in some new clothes.
“Yes, clothes and jewelry and anything you wish,” he said.
We both dressed and prepared to search Etora for a new home. He landed the ship on the other side of the planet away from the city we had landed in before. I was astonished by its beauty. It was not the green planet of Krillis, but it was a red-stone hills planet with plenty of water features and beautiful landscapes. The sun shone brightly on this planet, but not too hot, and I knew that I could be happy in an environment like this.
“I will show you my favorite place. It is a small village called Clox, and it is mostly families, and it is safe. It is over here,” he said as he moved my attention to the other side of the ship.
“Oh we are so close,” I said as I turned my attention to the small village. We had landed just outside its beautiful stone gates. Viqer locked up our ship, and we were on our way to the village to search for our perfect home.
Months later, we were settled in Clox and i
nto the most gorgeous place I had ever seen. It sure beat my Brooklyn apartment. We had chosen a home in the natural setting of Etora far away from the trading cities. Clox turned out to be perfect, just as Viqer thought it would. There were all kinds of alien races living in the village, and I had never felt so stimulated by what every single race had to offer. I would never grow bored in this setting.
Our home was a nice and luxurious one with a beautiful view of rocky sandstone mountains and a lake in the distance. It was absolutely perfect, and when we welcomed the arrival of our child, Syqer, we knew that it was the perfect place to raise him.
