I had been a secret admirer of John Stauber and the Center for Media and Democracy, the organization John founded in 1995 to expose spin and propaganda, even while I was spinning for the insurance industry. Thank you, John, for being a flack’s worst nightmare and for welcoming me to the CMD team as you were preparing to retire and hand the reins of the organization to the incomparable Lisa Graves.
