She pressed her breast farther into his palm and bucked more precisely against him. His rhythm became frenetic, so she stopped moving, tightening her thighs and clasping her inner muscles around him. Her walls pulsed around his cock as his tempo faltered. Rob cursed as he spilled his seed into her, and she smiled as the orgasm gave way to a feeling of complete satiation. Once he had lowered her legs back down to the floor, a sigh of satisfaction escaped her lips.
“Shit, we didn’t use protection.” Rob cursed as he filled his palms with her ass and squeezed gently.
“Yeah I know. I realized too late but I take it they tested you before they sent you here?”
“Yes.”
“Well, I’m tested every three months and I’ve not been with anyone for a year. So I’m clean and I’m on contraceptives. I take it you haven’t gone with any of the men here?”
“No, hell no!”
“Well, I had to check.”
“So it’s OK?”
“Yeah. I just don’t make a habit of it. Just so that you know.”
“I didn’t think you did.”
He leaned in and kissed her gently before stepping back and allowing her to find her abandoned clothes. When she was nearly dressed, she looked around to find him still naked and staring at her ass. “Come on, let’s get this shuttle fixed.” He shook himself and hurriedly donned his clothes and grabbed her gun before preceding her out of the door.
He prodded her to walk slightly in front of him as usual, so that it appeared he was holding her gun against her back. They were only a hundred meters from the shuttle when they heard a shout. From behind some bushes appeared ten prisoners. They were running towards Gemma and Rob brandishing an array of handmade weapons.
“The shuttle!” he shouted as they both took off at a run.
Despite laying down weapons fire, Rob was keeping up with her, covering her and using his own body as a shield to protect her. As she reached the shuttle, she placed her hand on the control panel just as Rob howled in pain.
The door opened and she turned to haul him inside. She nearly froze as she saw a large spear sticking into his torso. But adrenaline and survival instinct helped her pull him into the hull and shut the door.
Rob slid down the bulkhead. No blood smear appeared on the bulkhead, revealing that the spear had not gone all the way through.
“We need to get out of here,” she shouted to him over the screams of the men outside.
“Come on, bitch,” shouted one.
“Come out and face the people you captured.”
“Paris, you bastard, let us show her what we do to traitors on Alcatraz–particularly traitors of the female kind.”
Gemma found some padding and placed it around the spear wound then grabbed a sonic saw and quickly removed the long handle of the spear.
“Hold that in place until we’re in space. It’s the best I can do.” she said quickly, hoping he didn’t mistake her hurry for a lack of concern. The men were banging harder on the bulkhead and although she knew that even ten men would be unable to overturn a shuttle, she wasn’t entirely sure how strong the windows and door were.
Gemma knew that one of the engines was fully operational and the second one was nearly there. She quickly fiddled with some wires through the open bulkhead and decided that it was the best she could do under the circumstances.
“Gemma, let me go. I can’t do this. They’ll kill me if I escape.”
“Shush! It’s OK, I have a plan.”
“No!” he roared. “They will shoot me.”
Gemma sighed and walked over to him, laying a comforting hand on his arm.
“We’re going straight to Varsi - to the Embassy. My father is the ambassador to Yanak. He will give us asylum either until we can sort this out or else he can appeal for clemency for you to be released or placed in another prison. There are options if we go there. Going gives us the chance of survival. If I open the door, they will gang rape me, then kill us both. Is that what you want?”
He shook his head and waved his hand as if giving her permission. She grabbed the controls and switched on the engines. Just as she was about to take off, a face appeared in the front windshield. One of the prisoners was trying to smash the reinforced glass. She was going to have to take off and hoped he had the sense to jump off or else she would have yet another death on her conscience.
She slowly lifted off and was relieved to note that the prisoner jumped as she rose off the ground. He may have a broken ankle but at least he wouldn’t die from traveling faster than the speed of light through the interstellar vacuum.
Once in space, Gemma watched as the planet became smaller and smaller until they left the solar system altogether. She quickly set the auto-pilot, checked the engine readings which seemed to be stable for now, and moved to the back of the shuttle to deal with Rob.
“You didn’t tell me your father was the Varsi ambassador.”
“It wasn’t high on my list of priorities. He married a Varsi woman after my mother died and so his other two children are half-Varsi. I’m not from Earth originally. We lived on Yanak when I was growing up. I was twelve when Yanak gained its independence from Earth. My parents were some of the first human settlers when Yanak was colonized. Dad is the Yanakian Ambassador to Varsi. He can help us and while we are in the Embassy we’ll have diplomatic immunity.”
“Surely your dad will just arrange for me to be extradited to Earth,” Rob pointed out.
“No. He trusts my judgment. Once we tell him the full story, he will help you. But now we must do something about this spear.”
She ripped open his shirt and looked at the wound, breathing a sigh of relief when she saw the angle in which it had embedded into Rob’s skin.
“There is no way that it has hit any vital organs at that angle. Once the spear is out, you are going to have pain and bruising and it will need glued back together. But you’ll be fine, if a little sore for a couple of months.”
“A little?” he grumbled, but smiled at her. Gemma set to work, removing the spear and cleaning the wound. Rob screamed as the spear head was removed and breathed hard through his teeth as the antiseptic gel was applied. She glued the sides if the wound together and bandaged his torso. When she was finished, she captured his mouth in a sweet kiss, allowing him to pull her onto his knee.
As his hands moved over her breasts, his thumbs found her nipples and teased them causing her to groan into his mouth. She could feel him hardening and pulled out of the kiss.
“You need to see a doctor before we do this,” she whispered. “I can’t risk injuring you further.”
“Will you still want me when we are in a safe place?” he asked, looking troubled. Her hand moved down and stroked the front of his pants.
“I think we have a few things to resolve,” she smiled.
“I can’t help thinking that you wouldn’t look at me twice if we had met on the outside.”
“I don’t suppose we’ll ever know,” she said simply.
“How do I know you won’t just turn me over to the authorities as we pass Earth? You said you wanted to clear my name, but that was before I ended up being an escapee from a prison colony.”
“I promise you that I will fight for you: I’ll fight to keep you from going back to that place and to clear your name. As I said before we left this morning, I owe you for keeping me safe. And I slept with you because I wanted you. Now stop worrying about the future and let’s get ourselves home.”
Gemma helped him up into the co-pilot’s seat and settled into her chair. She pressed the button to unset the auto-pilot and steered her shuttle home.
Epilogue
One year later…
Gemma sat in the austere looking court room. The mahogany wall panels made the windowless room look even darker and the subdued lighting added to the gloom. She watched as Rob was brought out into the stand for the verdict. She moved her hand protectively over her slightly swollen belly.
The judge walked into the
court room dressed in a navy blue suit and light blue tie. He nodded to indicate that everyone on court could sit.
“Mr. Paris, you have been found not guilty of the terrorist attack on Dallag Prime and therefore you have no prison term to carry out. You have however been found guilty of breaking out of a prison colony and escaping. Due to the length of time you have already served on the prison planet Alcatraz, I am going to class it as time served. I am also going to reimburse you for lost earnings during those two years. I’d like to thank you for identifying those who are responsible for the atrocious attack on one of our colonies. You are free to go.”
Rob jerked around and found Gemma in the gallery. As their eyes met, a bone-melting sense of relief washed over her. He was free and would be there for her, to love her and help her raise their son. She stood up and hurried downstairs to meet him. She kept her gaze trained on him as he quickly shook hands with his lawyer. Then he ran over to her, grabbing her round the waist and spinning her around. When he put her back on her feet, she was breathless from laughing.
“Come on, Mrs. Paris,” he whispered in her ear, “I have a special celebration planned and it includes us both being naked.”
Gemma bit her lip in anticipation and practically jogged out of the courthouse beside him. As she looked up at Rob, she marveled at how far she had come in such a short time. She may have captured his body on a deserted planet on the edge of Terran space, but he had captured her heart and soul on Alcatraz. She knew he would treasure his bounty forever.
