Jason's Awakening

“No, I didn’t.”
“Come again, mate? Sound like you said-“
“No, you heard it right. I never had the feeling with Trini. I lied to her that night, and every night since then.” Mohinder’s brow furrowed as he looked at his friend. Jason felt the heated look Mohinder gave him, and immediately regretted his decision on telling Mohinder.
“Why did you lie?”
“I don’t know. Spur of the moment, I guess. The way you acted with Jennifer that night. I mean I’ve shown the same passion to Trini before, but never at the same level you had with Jennifer. It was part jealousy, mixed with me being an idiot and blurting out shit. I never realized it, but the level of love you showed for Jennifer over the past month, I would never be able to top for Trini even on my best day.” Mohinder silently nodded as he took another sip of his beer.
“It’s not a competition mate. I think you do well enough. I may have copied some of your moves with Jennifer.” Mohinder sighed, and his brown eyes showed confusion as he looked back at his friend. “So why now? Why are you telling me all of this? Something had to trigger this, eh?”
“It was Rose.”
“The King’s sister? Is she your female mate?”
“I think so, the way you described Jennifer that night, is the same feeling I had when I saw Rose. No matter how hard I fought my urges, a part of me wanted to run up in the middle of the meeting and have sex with her, right up there. I never felt such lust before. Her very name gets me aroused.” Mohinder nodded once more.
“Yeah, she’s your mate. This whole conversation got me sporting knob thinking about Jennifer. I guess I got my fapping material now.”
Jason gave his friend a queer look and continued on talking, “So you understand my struggle? Why I can’t tell Trini.”
“Aye, I understand it alright, so what’s the plan?”
“Bury it, I still love Trini. It’s just whenever I see Rose, I just get sexual thoughts. I can keep those to myself. Trini will never-“ Jason paused his conversation as his heartbeat quicken. Oh no not here, Jason thought as he picked up Rose’s scent. Her scent grew stronger and stronger until the bar door opened.
Standing in the doorway was Rose. She looked even more gorgeous. She had changed from her outfit from earlier. She wore low cut jeggings along with a brown lace-up cami. Her frayed brown moccasins boots looked worn but accented her outfit nicely. The moment she walked in the room, the bar when dead quiet as they realized the sister of the king had arrived at the bar. They reminded quiet, until Rose sat down next to Jason.
She gave a large smile to Jason, then looked towards Willie, “Good evening Willie, can I get the same thing as usual.”
“I was already pouring it the moment I smelled you,” Willie replied as he placed an ice cold Honey Wolf in front of Rose. The king’s sister took a sip and looked back at Jason.
“I’ve been looking for you all over town. I should have known that my mate would have been in my favorite bar. I’m Rose.” Jason sat in shock as he looked at the goddess figure of Rose. He was unable to move or say a word.
“Well, I’m Mohinder, and this is Jason, your apparent mate,” Mohinder said sarcastically. Jason noted his tone and looked back at Mohinder and shook his head in a negative manner. Jason knew his friend was mentally telling him, don’t do anything stupid. Mohinder smiled once more at Rose, “It was good meeting you Rose. I got to piss,” Mohinder mentioned as he wobbled off his bar stool and stumbled to the back of the bar.
Once Mohinder was out of eyesight, Jason turned his attention back to Rose. “Hi,” Jason replied to Rose in a nervous manner.
Rose smiled at Jason as if she admired his nervousness, “So you were the one in the throne room. You’re not a bad looker. With the heat I was giving off, I’m surprised you didn’t tackle me in the room.”
Jason was silent. However, in his heart, the battle had already started. Trini’s troops versus Rose’s troops. Rose had already opened up with the first volley, but Trini’s troops were resistant.
“I have a girlfriend,” Jason found himself blurting out. Rose raised both her eyebrows and took a sip of her beer.
Jesus, even the way she drinks her beer is sexy.
“I don’t see her in here. Not to mention, last time I checked you only get one mate per lifetime. Let’s face it, Romeo, you just hit the jackpot,” Rose mentioned. She placed her beer back on the bar and placed her hand on Jason’s upper thigh. The sexual urges Jason felt were unbelievable. Within two seconds of her touching him, Jason was fully erected and ready to unleash his load. However, Jason showed self-restraint and pushed Rose’s hand away.
“Listen, Rose, I understand we are supposed to be together, but I love Trini. She’s my person.”
Rose snorted, “Really, so tell me. Do you two have a lot in common?”
“We do, we’re both huge geeks. We love superheroes, comics, and video games.”
“Really, so when was the last time you guys did that stuff together?”
Jason opened his mouth to respond but fell short. In reality, he was embarrassed as realized the things that Trini and Jason had in common, they no longer participate in. They no longer attended the midnight releases of movies, they haven’t been to the arcade in months, nor have they even read of the current edition of their favorite comic books. Their relationship was built on sex and their nights spent in the woods together. Where had their relationship gone to?
In part anger and curiosity, Jason asked, “What do we have in common?”
“Besides the fact that we are both wolves, we have amazing bodies; you not fooling anyone with those abs, mister,” Rose added as she touched Jason’s muscular stomach with her hand. Jason pushed her hand away from his body annoyed. “And lastly, the potential amazing sex we can have. I would have to say my brain can keep up mentally with yours. I have two degrees and lead the science team in Korywen. Half the technology you see in this town was created by my team and me.”
That did impress Jason. Besides Walker, Jennifer, and Mohinder, Jason really hasn’t met anyone who reaches his IQ level. My conversations with Trini can be especially dull sometimes. Often sex, other talk about wolves, or past obsessions over superheroes would carry their conversations. Why am I thinking this way, I love Trini. These thoughts are dangerous. Jason realized that Rose was approaching closer once more.
“Jason, we are meant to be together. Give me a chance to prove it to you,” Rose said as he left her bar stool and moved closer to Jason.
Jason understood Rose’s intentions and placed his hand on Rose’s chest to stop her advance.
“Rose, listen to me. I can see what you’re doing. You need to stop. Stop this right now. I am in love with Trini, and I don’t intend on doing any harm to her. While you may be my soul mate, Trini is my girl next door, the woman I love and will always-” Rose forced herself onto Jason as she pushed his hand away from her chest. She hopped onto his lap and made contact with Jason’s face. Her tongue forced itself into Jason’s mouth as it played a deadly game with his.
Jason was in shock at first as Rose’s lips touched his. His arms were open wide and moved in a frantic motion as Rose delivered her kiss. Jason was not going to deny that there was a spark between the two. Her tongue felt hypnotizing as it massaged his large tongue. Rose let out a soft moan as her hand crept down to Jason’s already aroused penis. The moment Rose touched his manhood, part of Jason felt as if he should just let nature take its course. He would let his inner wolf out, and be with Rose in the bar. However, the thought of Trini flashed in his mind. Each memory of Trini whisked in front of him, their time at Geek Haven, their movie marathons, the whitewater trip, the lingerie store, their first kiss, his first sexual experience with Trini. The memories of her were strong. Within a second of Rose kissing Jason, he pushed her off him, and she fell back into her chair.
“I said no,” Jason replied as he growled as he wiped Rose’s lip gloss off his face. The bar went silent as they realized the scen
e that was unfolding. However, there was one sound that continued in the crowd. Jason looked up and discovered the origin of the sound. Trini’s eyes were red and puffy. Her black mascara ran down her face as she looked at Jason, wounded with rage.
“Trini, it’s not…” Jason began to say before Trini turned and left the bar in tears.
“Trini wait!” Jason shouted as he swam his way through the thick crowd of the patrons. He was furious with Rose. She knew how I felt about Trini. Why did she keep advancing onto him? Jason made his way to the door, and Mohinder and Isabella stood at the door. Both shared the same disappointed glances at Jason.
“Move, I need to speak to Trini.”
“Not a good time, mate,” Mohinder said.
“I agree with Mohinder. Just let her cool off, hermano,” Isabella replied.
“How much did she hear?” Jason asked.
“I’m not sure,” Isabella replied. “I think she was more focused on what she saw than what she heard. However, I heard most of the conversation between you and her. I know that puta kissed you, unprovoked by you. Just give her the night. Let her cry it out. Let me talk to her first and try and settle her down. I know you two shared a room at the hotel. I think you should let her have it tonight.” Jason could feel the tears began to burn on his face as he nodded to Isabella’s words.
Chapter 29
Why in the hell would he do that! Out of all the people in the world, I find Jason breaking my heart. Sweet innocent Jason, I thought he was the one. I just don’t understand. Trini thought as she wiped away her tears and walked out of the bar.
“I’m so fucking done with him. I don’t care if he crawls back to me. He knew the ground rules before we dated. Why does this hurt so much? I’ve been cheated on before. However, this feels like someone has ripped out my heart and made me watch it burn to a crisp. Maybe I am cursed,” Trini growled as she briskly walked down the street. Different werewolves around her stared as she talked to herself, but Trini didn’t care who looked at her. Her heart was shattered, and she didn’t have a care in the world.
“Trini wait up!” Isabella called out as she chased her friend down the street.
“Not now Bella, I just want to be left alone,” Trini growled as she started off at a sprint down a side alleyway in the city. She transformed into her auburn furred werewolf and ripped off her clothes in the process. Trini was not concerned about leaving her clothes in shambles in the alleyway, she just wanted to be alone. As her wolf ran away, Trini could hear another transformation happening in the background. Trini looked behind her and saw Isabella’s wolf trailing her. Take the hint and just leave me alone Bella, damn. Trini crawled up the wall surrounding the town and hopped down from its tall height.
Trini landed in the knee-high swamp water and took off at a run. She knew that her fast speed should separate the distance between her and Isabella in no time. Trini continued to run until her lungs burned. She stopped and transformed back into a human, gasping for air next to a tree. All she could think about was the image of Jason kissing Rose. She didn’t know what felt worse, her heart or her lungs from running. Trini slumped down onto the dry dirt swamp and wept.
As she cried, she realized she never bawled this hard for anyone before. Why does this shit hurt so much? Trini wiped away her tears and looked up at the blank night sky. As she searched for the stars, she heard a stick break in the distance. Shit, it’s Bella, I should have known she would find me here. The sound of paws changed into footsteps as Isabella neared Trini.
“Trini?” Isabella asked as she appeared behind the tree Trini leaned on. “Are you okay?” she asked as she placed her hand on Trini’s shoulder and got to eye level with her.
Trini wanted to say something witty but found herself completely breaking down on her shoulder. “Why would he do that? We loved each other! I loved Jason with all my heart, why would he just go and cheat on me.”
Isabella squeezed Trini and gave her a tight hug, and rubbed her back. “I’m so sorry. Men can be stupid. I guess that’s why I like women. You should know this before you place judgment on him. Rose came on to him. I heard the whole thing. They were mates. According to Allison, they are both sexually attracted to each other due to themselves being soulmates. The resistance Jason showed was amazing. He pushed her off right away.”
Trini stared at Isabella as she continued defending Jason’s actions. A part of her was relieved that Jason still had feelings for her. However, she still felt this lump in her throat. All she could remember was their night at Pasta, Pasta. The lies he told me about us being companions. He should have just told me the truth, I would have understood. He just lied. Even before we had sex, he could have easily told me in the car. Instead, he used me like every other man in my life. My mirror image from my dream was right, I am cursed.
“That’s enough Bella,” Trini finally admitted. Isabella had a queer look on her face as she looked at Trini.
“Trini, I’m just saying—”
“No, listen. I understand what Jason did in the bar. I’ve forgiven him for that. However, he still lied to me about us being soulmates. He looked into my eyes at Pasta, Pasta and told me were mates in front of everyone. Then later that night, before we have some of the most memorable sex I’ve ever had, he lies to me again that we’re mates. He does not get a pass from me there. I’ve told him countless times, do not lie to me. And what does he do? He lies. It’s not even a small lie.”
“I understand. Jason didn’t tell me how much he lied to you. I figured after the restaurant, he would have come clean. I guess he didn’t, shit. Pinche idiota,” Isabella cursed underneath her breath. She shook her head in disagreement and stood back up. Isabella extended a hand and smiled back at Trini, “Come on get up.”
Trini looked at Isabella and frowned. “I want to stay out here a little longer if you don’t mind.”
“Nope, I said get up,” Isabella said as she grabbed Trini’s hand and forced her to her feet. “The Trini I met five months ago would have said fuck this shit, and moved on. She would have said, on to the next one. You still got me in this fight. I won’t break your heart. Unless you play the opposite side, then we will have to see.” Isabella winked at Trini then slapped her butt. “Come on, conejita, let’s go back to the hotel.” Trini smiled and followed Isabella away from the tree she sat at.
“Hey Bella, can I-“
“I’m stopping you right there. Jason is sleeping with Mohinder. You’ll get the whole bed to yourself, mama.”
“You’re a good friend, Bella.”
“The best, now let’s go to bed. I’m still drunk from the fucking beer.” With a loud howl, both females transformed back into the wolves and headed back to Korywen.
Chapter 30
Back in the bar, Jason still stood frozen as he watched the bar door close. Part of him wanted Trini to run in and kiss him. The other knew that he just ruined his relationship with her. Mohinder broke his trance on the door as he slapped his shoulder.
“Don’t forget you’re sleeping in my room tonight. Let’s get out of here. I think we’ve done enough damage tonight,” Mohinder said as he placed his hands on Jason's shoulders and herded him outside. Before Jason left, he took one more glance towards Rose. Her face was full of regret as she looked at Jason. It was as if she felt his pain, and understood she made a mistake.
“Jason wait,” Rose called out as she got up off the stool and chased him outside. With every footstep, Rose took to get closer, the more enraged he felt.
She is the reason why Trini left crying. If she would have just left me alone, Trini and I would still be happy.
“Jason, please just listen to me,” Rose shouted as she grabbed Jason’s arm. Jason moved his arm, jerking it away from Rose’s grasp.
“No, you listen to me Rose. I’m done. I’m not your mate. I am never going to be your mate. What you did back there, Agh!” Jason shouted his entire body shook with rage as he looked into Rose’s eyes. For once, his wolf agreed with his heart, he
too had a distaste for his mate and the love of the girl next door. Trini’s disappointment, anger, depression was a key to his wolf understanding his love of her. As one they had a clear focus on being with Trini. “Rose, I’m in love with Trini Davos. Even though we are not mates, she’s the one I choose to be with the rest of my life. I’m sorry, but you and I are not soulmates. We are never going to be together.” Rose searched Jason’s eyes, trying to find the truth, but she knew the answer already. Tears glossed Rose’s eyes as she looked at Jason and walked away.
“As you wish Jason,” Rose cried as she continued to back away, and then turned to disappear into the crowd.
“Mate, that was brutal.”
“It had to be done, Mohinder. I’ve made a terrible mistake, and God knows how long I am going to pay for it. I swear to you right now, I will repay it. I love Trini. I have to find some way to make it up to her.”
“Understood mate, let’s get out of here.” Jason and Mohinder walked down the empty city street, Jason looked up at the empty night sky and imagined Trini’s smiling face looking down. Right there, he made a promise to never abandon Trini again. His love for Trini was real, and Rose was not a factor in his life.
That night, it was tough for Jason to go to sleep, as he laid next to his best friend who was soundly asleep, he could still hear Trini’s sobs through their room. What have I done? Jason thought as he stayed awake the entire time.
The next two days were brutal for Jason. Both days, all he wanted to do was to be with Trini. He missed her deeply. Isabella had explained to Trini his side of the story, but Trini was still upset. The reason behind it, according to Isabella, was because it was more due to his lie than his actions. From that statement, Jason understood, and decided to give Trini the space she needed and slept in Mohinder’s room, giving her their room over the last two days. The tension between the two was awkward. If they managed to find themselves together, they never spoke. There were only silent glances between the two. Jason had attempted to speak to Trini once, but she sped away before Jason could even finish his sentence.
