Always with You (WIth You Trilogy)
Page 23
Xander came with us; it only seemed fair that he be invited considering how much he’d been there for me in recent months.
“She barely wakes us up at night anymore,” Karl grinned across the table, filling Ian in on everything he’d missed while he was away. “And she makes that little squeaking noise Jelly used to make.”
“Squeaking noise?” I frowned.
“Yeah, you sounded like one of those dog chews,” he teased.
“More like R2D2,” Matt chimed in.
I just shook my head at them. Being compared to R2D2 was a little bit cooler than a dog chew. Ian listened intently as my brothers all chipped in with stories about Grace over the past three months, a peaceful smile on his face.
“Here,” Ian grinned, handing over a packet to Elise. “I got shipped out before this arrived.”
“Ooh, Ian, you didn’t have to get anything,” Elise cooed, already ripping open the wrapping paper.
“Trust me, I did,” he laughed.
Elise held up a little baby onesie and chuckled, turning it around so we could all see. It was pink and said “Keep calm, my Daddy is a soldier” with a little British flag.
I grinned because Karl was shaking his head and maybe even blushing slightly.
“It was either that or ‘Keep calm and date a soldier’ and I wasn’t keen on using my niece as a chat up line.”
“Cheers, E,” Karl laughed, shaking his head and smiling at Grace who was making adorable noises in her pram.
We had a lovely evening and I was on cloud nine, surrounded by family and my wonderful boyfriend. Jake seemed to have forgiven the twins and they were actually getting along. Probably because the twins were complete clowns and it was hard not to laugh at them.
It was the first time in a long while that a night out was focussed on having a nice meal and good conversation rather than drinking. It was also the first night that we were back at the hotel by half past ten. This was mainly in deference to Grace but the twins were kind enough to point out that out of the eleven of us, five were over thirty and therefore “getting on a bit”. Of course, this resulted in Ian and Xander each arm wrestling with a twin over and over again, and winning every time.
Jason and I excused ourselves along with Elise when she went to put Grace to bed. They’d all started drinking and, since Jason didn’t drink, we figured we’d leave them to it. I also suspected he was eager to continue where he left off.
Jason took his sweet time getting the room key from his wallet. It wasn’t until we heard the door close behind Elise that he sprang into action.
I found myself pinned to the door of our room with my hands held above my head in one of Jason’s. His mouth was on mine in a flash, his body pressed up against me. His grip was firm but not painful, it was just tight enough that it served as a reminder that I was at his mercy. I was quite happy to be there.
“I need you out of this dress now,” he growled before dipping his head to lick and nip a trail up my neck.
“Jason,” I breathed desperately. “Somebody might see us here.”
His grin broadened against my skin as his hand travelled from my waist to the room key in his pocket. He kept his mouth against my skin as he slipped the card blindly into the slot.
I gasped as I heard people approaching and blushed furiously when I opened my eyes to see an elderly couple approaching. They must have been well over eighty. They were walking slowly, with measured steps. The lady’s hand was tucked delicately into the crook of gentleman’s arm.
I winced apologetically, watching out of the corner of my eye as Jason tried not to grin. The old lady just smiled kindly and I swear the old man winked at Jason before they looked at each other. I could almost see the shared memory in their gazes as they passed.
It was beautiful to see love in the eyes of a couple who’d obviously been together for a long time. I wanted that.
“Finally,” Jason muttered, managing to get his card into the slot and open the door to our room.
The first thing I did was make sure the lock to Craig and Jake’s adjoining room was now locked. I definitely didn’t want any interruptions.
Whilst I was busy ensuring my brothers wouldn’t see anything they didn’t want to and murder Jason, he disappeared into the bathroom.
“What are you doing?” I asked him suspiciously, when he came back into the room holding something in his hands.
“Never you mind,” he winked. “Strip for me.”
I cocked my head at him but we both knew I’d do as I was told. I took a few steps closer, until our toes were touching, and leant up to give him a kiss before obliging.
The steamy embrace in the hallway had left me a little over excited and I was desperate to get some skin on skin. I watched, spellbound, as Jason removed his tie and started on the buttons on his shirt. Watching his body being revealed bit by bit was like opening an advent calendar all in one day. Each little glimpse just added to the deliciousness that was my boyfriend.
Jason raised an eyebrow at me with a slight smirk on his face. His expression said he knew I was staring and he was loving it.
“I’m waiting, baby,” he goaded. “For every second you make me wait, I’m going to make you beg that little more.”
I pouted and scrambled to get my clothes off, prompting Jason to chuckle as I almost fell over.
“Nice and slow, Jamie,” he ordered in a low voice, letting his shirt fall to the floor before sitting down on the chair in the corner. “I like to watch you.” His hand cupped his jaw, his long fingers stroking his slight stubble as he looked at me expectantly.
He looked so exquisite sat there in his half-naked glory but I somehow managed not to stand and stare because I wanted to be close to him and I knew he wouldn’t let me until I was naked.
I slipped out of my dress as delicately as I could and turned my back to Jason, resisting the urge to turn my head and sneak a peak at him.
Reaching behind my back, I removed my bra, letting it fall to the floor at my feet. I could feel Jason’s heated gaze burning across my skin and I smiled to myself because I knew I had his full attention.
I slowly slipped my thumbs into the waistband of my G-string, pulling it up just a little before I bent over and smoothly eased the material away from my body. I was unbelievably grateful that I managed to do so in a fairly graceful fashion and without falling over.
Feeling playful, I scooped up the garment and tossed it in Jason’s direction as I turned around. He smirked as he caught it on one hand, scrunching the fabric in his fist. I blushed furiously as I watched him bring it to his nose and inhale deeply.
“Nothing smells as good as you do,” he growled, the dark heat of his eyes intensifying.
I smiled bashfully, used to Jason’s dirty mouth but still slightly embarrassed by watching him smell the evidence of my arousal.
Jason grinned and beckoned me closer with a hooked finger. His eyes watched my every movement and my breath caught as I watched him rubbing himself through his trousers.
“Come sit here, little squirrel,” he gestured to his lap, his voice soft and gentle.
I studied him curiously for a second because that wasn’t the tone of voice he usually used when I was about to get a spanking. That voice was filled with mischief, but this one was warm and beckoning.
He positioned me sideways in his lap, his long fingers tucking my hair behind my ear before trailing lightly down my back and eliciting a ripple of goosebumps.
“Lean back for me, beautiful,” he urged, hooking his arm around my waist so that he could bear my weight and I wouldn’t have to lean against the arm of the chair.
“Feet up here,” he nodded, satisfied with my positioning.
I obliged and rested my high heels on the opposite arm of the chair. With deft fingers, Jason quickly unbuckled the shoes and slid each one from my feet.
His hand caressed the skin from the soles of my feet to my inner thigh and I sighed in contentment. His touches were so reverent and lovi
ng that I was sure could melt from happiness at any second.
“God, I’ll never get over how beautiful you are,” he breathed appreciatively, using the arm around my waist to pull me closer.
I smiled against his neck as I tucked myself into his warmth. This wasn’t going the way I’d thought it would but I wasn’t complaining.
“I love you, Jason,” I whispered, pressing gentle kisses to the side of his neck.
“I love you too, little squirrel,” he answered with his million-dollar smile. “Straddle me?”
I pulled my face out of the crook of his neck in order to raise an eyebrow at him. He was still wearing trousers after all. I looked down at the offending item of clothing and Jason chuckled.
“Perv,” he teased. “It’s always about sex with you.”
“Sex with you, always,” I grinned back. “Besides, you’re the one who made me strip.” Despite my teasing, I was already moving into the requested position because I liked that it would give me better access to Jason.
He surprised me again by pulling me into him and holding me. Despite the fact that I was naked, his hands didn’t stray to my rear end, or tangle in my hair like they might usually have done. He just held me.
I knew touching me was important to Jason. Sometimes it felt like he had to do it to convince himself I was really with him. I shuffled slightly, rubbing my body against his as I found a comfy position with as much of our skin touching as possible. My arms looped around his shoulders and I sighed happily in his embrace.
“Never thought I’d say this,” Jason whispered. “But I’m so glad your brother is here.”
I chuckled gently. “Ian? Yeah, me too. I hate it when he goes away.” This felt like the weirdest conversation ever to be having naked.
“That too. But I meant that I’ve been so worried about you the past few months and him being back means I don’t have to worry quite so much. Losing you is the scariest thing in the world to me. Not being able to hold you in my arms like this would kill me.”
“There’s the soppy romantic I know and love,” I grinned, leaning back to cup his face in my hands and press kisses to his forehead. “You’re my everything, Jason. You know that, right?”
He nodded almost shyly and I pulled my face closer to his to let my kiss tell him how much he meant to me. He smiled almost shyly as I pulled away bit it was soon replaced by his cheeky grin as he reached behind himself to retrieve whatever it was he’d taken from the bathroom.
“What is it?” I asked, settling my palms on his stomach and enjoying the warmth of his skin against mine.
He held the bottle up for me to see. It was a fairly snazzy looking bottle of massage oil with the hotel name on the top.
“Jason, you have to pay for that stuff,” I frowned. “And it looks expensive.”
Jason just laughed. “Blame your brothers for picking a posh hotel.”
I maintained my frown and was only slightly distracted by the way his stomach clenched when he laughed.
“When are you going to learn that you’re worth every penny, Jamie?” He grinned, pouring some of the most likely ridiculously over-priced liquid into his hands and rubbing it to warm it up.
I grumbled in response but soon quietened as he began rubbing the vanilla scented liquid into my arms, wrists and, hands.
“Oh, that’s so nice,” I cooed, relaxing in his lap.
Jason winked and continued working any and all tension from my limbs.
“Not that I’m complaining,” I started hesitantly as Jason moved onto my shoulders. “But I thought you were going to spank me.” I blushed the compulsory blush but met his eyes which lit up in amusement.
“I decided to let you off,” he grinned. “Tonight I want to make sure you know how special you are to me.”
I smiled bashfully and leaned forwards slightly so I could kiss him on the lips. I really wanted to massage him as well but he flat out denied me. I pouted but it seemed important to him so I let him have his way. I’d just make sure he let me rub him all over another time. Fair is fair.
By the time Jason had finished making tender love to me, I was in a state of complete and utter contentment. Emotionally, physically, and sexually. If this was a sign of things to come now that the waters were settling, I was going to be a very happy girl.
Chapter 30
Tuesday, 8th October 2013
We were woken up at five, which was early even for my brothers. Matt had to drive back in time for work and Ian wanted to make sure we all had breakfast together.
“See, it looks good on her,” Ian laughed upon seeing that Grace was wearing her new onesie.
“She’s my daughter, everything looks good on her,” Karl scoffed.
“I got it in four different sizes for when she grows out of it,” Ian grinned, knocking the smirk off Karl’s face somewhat.
“Should have got her the ‘who dares wins’ one,” Xander grunted between mouthfuls of scrambled eggs. That was the motto for the SAS.
“Mm,” Ian mumbled his agreement through his toast.
I just grinned, happy to have everyone back together and normal. Well, not quite normal. Something was different. There was less tension in the air, less fear of saying the wrong thing and upsetting someone older than you. Maybe that was just me, but Jake and Craig seemed a little more at ease as well.
They were the two that had spoken out the most when I’d gotten in trouble, particularly recently. Jake seemed less worried about pissing someone off as well, especially since Jason and Craig had given the twins a “talking to”. I wasn’t sure exactly what that meant but it seemed to have worked.
When Matt had gone, the others all started filing down to reception ready to head home. Xander loitered in the foyer with Ian. It was going to be weird not having him around. I hadn’t really wanted him there in the first place but he had done his fair share in making me feel safe and I’d grown used to the smell of toxically strong coffee every morning.
“Jelly, Jason,” Ian beckoned us over after the twins and Craig had left.
“’Sup?” Jason replied, his arm around my shoulder.
“I was thinking I’d come spend a couple of days with you in Leeds,” he said.
It was so typically Ian to not phrase it as a question that I just smiled.
“I’d like that,” I nodded with a grin and I meant it. I’d missed him like mad.
“Fine by me,” Jason said, granting Ian the permission that he never asked for which seemed to amuse Xander.
When we’d made our goodbyes to the rest of the family, including an extra long cuddle with Grace, Xander led the way to his Audi Q8. I wasn’t sure why Xander was coming with us since he lived in Manchester but since he’d driven us, I figured he was going to take us back.
Ian grinned when he saw the car and held his hands out for the keys. “I’ll drive.”
Xander remained still and simply raised one eyebrow. “One word: Kandahar.”
“That wasn’t my fault,” Ian replied quickly.
It was just plain weird seeing Ian on the defensive.
“You totalled it,” Xander smirked.
“Well excuse me for trying not to get shot… again,” Ian grumbled, conceding victory and taking the passenger seat.
I couldn’t actually remember ever seeing Ian sat anywhere other than the driver’s seat. I’d definitely never seen him give up so easily. The friendship he had with Xander was obviously important to him, both because of shared experiences and mutual trust.
The two of them chatted away in what seemed like code in the front seat. I didn’t recognise any of the names or places they mentioned so I tuned them out. Jason pulled my feet up into his lap and removed my shoes. It meant I had to shift slightly in my seat and lean against the car door but when he started massaging my feet, I forgot all about that. God, I love this man. He rubbed firm but pleasant circles on the arches of my feet and I almost moaned in pleasure.
He smiled coyly at me and I met his love filled gaze. The
re really was nothing I wouldn’t do for this man. I had him to thank for how perfect everything in my life felt at that moment. I truly believed I would have let my brothers overwhelm me if I hadn’t met him, if he hadn’t given me faith in myself.
“What you thinking about?” Jason grinned at me, one hand moving up my jeans to caress my calf.
“Just how much I love you,” I smiled back. I loved the way his green-blue eyes sparkled with happiness every time I said those three words.
“Jesus Christ,” Ian grumbled. “You had to put up with this shit for three months solid?”
“Yup,” Xander nodded, smirking slightly as his laughing eyes met mine in the rear-view mirror.
“Should get a fucking bonus,” Ian shook his head with a chuckle.
Xander just chuckled and I levelled a glare at the back of Ian’s head. He must have sensed it with his spidey senses because he turned his head to wink at me.
The happy banter continued all the way back to Leeds and Xander almost managed a full smile a couple of times. We parked a little way down the street from Jason’s flat to pick up the stuff we’d left there when Xander sprang the visit on us.
Jason kissed me with a cheeky grin once he helped me out of the car. I suspected he was enjoying testing Ian and proving to both me and himself that my brothers were collectively getting better at relinquishing their tight grips.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved having big brothers. I loved knowing that they’d always be there for me if I needed them: the jelly sandwiches, the forehead kisses, the nightmare induced movie nights, and all that they had done for me. But I didn’t love the constant coddling, the fear, or the need to control me. With those things gone, I had no complaints.
There was no point holding the past against them; for every time they’d hurt me – mentally or physically – there were at least ten occasions where they’d sacrificed something for me or looked after me when I needed it most and for that I would always be grateful.
“Fuck’s sake, Jelly. You think you two could dial it back a bit. It wasn’t that long ago you were holding my hand to cross the street and now you’re getting your face eaten in the middle of it,” Ian moaned.
