In the dark and quiet bedroom Jillian Hannah and David Zachary gazed at the tall blond man who was making faces at them and reaching down to tickle them. They both laughed those contagious, hysterically funny baby laughs that people couldn’t help but join in with and David Alexander Hall laughed, too, before clapping a hand to his mouth, looking at the opening door, and quickly fading from view.

“Enough you two, go to sleep,” Amanda lovingly scolded them. “Big birthday plans later, you don’t want to be too tired to enjoy your first birthday!”

Looking around the room she saw nothing amiss but was aware of the feeling of slightly heated air and of a familiar presence. “Ah…” she quietly exclaimed. “You two have had a visitor!” She then reached out to softly touch them both once more. “Hmm…” she murmured and grinned.

He was still watching over her and her children. Well, hell…Jill was partly his, too. It was no surprise that he felt possessive. Amanda had known David wasn’t really gone, that he’d continue to hang around and watch over her. With Hannah’s soul now housed inside of little Jill he wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon. She had to give David kudos, in that he at least tried to keep to himself. At least Zack wouldn’t be having fits about David dropping in and interrupting any bedroom hanky-panky, Amanda giggled.

“Next time, tell David I said hello, okay?” She smiled at the babies and left.

Should we tell her? The little girl mentally asked her brother.

No! David says we shouldn’t tell. It’ll make Momma sad! replied the little boy.

She won’t be sad! Daddy always makes her happy, defended the girl. She could tell because she could feel what Momma felt.

You’re right, and she’s knows anyway now. She read us, Jill. Was the boy’s disgruntled reply. He didn’t like it that Momma knew what they did. They couldn’t get away with anything. Not even their cousins could get away with stuff. Momma always knew and told Aunt Di.

But maybe we shouldn’t tell Daddy. They both thought to each other at the same time and giggled again.

We’re gonna have a baby brother. Did you know? David sent to his sister.

No! Jill rolled over and stretched out her chubby little hand through the bars of the crib to David who grasped it and forwarded his vision to her.

A brother! Jill smiled upon seeing the little boy who looked so much like her brother David and Daddy. Daddy will be happy for you, David. He says there are too many girls around for you.

They both yawned. We do need a nap. Jillian told her brother. Go to sleep, David. She sent a calming push at him and he released her hand, laid his head down, and promptly fell asleep.

“Oh gosh!” groaned Amanda. Long gone were the days where she could swear like a sailor. Now gosh, golly, and heck were her swear words of choice. She sat down tiredly beside Diane who had just returned from laying down her daughters and who seemed to be equally exhausted.

Diane laughed and reached over to pat Amanda’s hand and they grinned at each other. True, they griped about how much their children ran them to death but they loved every minute of it.

“Jesus, Joseph, and Mary!” exclaimed Amanda as Di’s hand settled on hers.

Diane’s eyes narrowed. “What? What now?” she demanded.

“Uh, Di? If I had something to tell you, would you want to know?” Amanda asked in a manner eerily reminiscent of a scene nearly two years ago. “It’s all good…I think.”

Diane only groaned and said, “No. Don’t tell me.” She knew without Amanda saying another word. She took a deep breath. “Okay, tell me…girl or boy. And it better only be one this time!”

“Well, at least we’re in the same boat together, sis. From what I saw we’re both having boys, and on the same day, too!”

Neither woman had heard their husbands arrive. They’d sent them to the store to pick up some last minute items for the party. Eric and Zack stood in the doorway and grinned, silently bumping fists in manly congratulations before going in to hug their wives.

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hello, all! LeeAnn Masters is my alter-ego, and pen name. When I am not busy with my family, or other career interests, I love to read many different genres. Depending upon my mood I choose anything from light-hearted romances to murder mysteries, or epic fantasy series to futuristic sci-fi adventures. My favorite genre, though, is paranormal romance. Whether shape-shifting alphas who rescue damsels in distress, or psychically talented damsels doing the rescuing (I’m all for equal opportunity), I love to see others fall in love. I believe that e-books were created just for me, and to deplete my bank account. Honey, really, I had no idea I bought that many books! Yes, I do need to have nearly three thousand of them on my Kindle!

I live, and grew up, in the suburbs surrounding Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—the “Three Rivers” city. Go Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates! I am married to the most supportive man on earth and have two wonderful daughters, and sons-in-law, as well as several grandchildren, whom I dote on. I love my grandbabies! I also have a mini-dachshund who, mistakenly, thinks she’s a mighty huntress.

Like most of my generation, who have learned to multi-task the hard way, my days are extremely busy. I hold several different teaching and curriculum development positions in the Pittsburgh area where I instruct college level, both online and on-site. I also care for my one remaining disabled, bed-ridden parent. All of which keeps me up late many nights and running most days. I’ll blame my “forgetfulness” on those aspects of my life, not on my natural inclination toward getting lost in my own head. Writers, you know? Always working on their plots!

I’ve had many different types of careers in my life. Along the way I’ve had clerical, human resources, training and development, sales, management, curriculum and program development, and teaching positions. I think teaching has been the most challenging career I’ve ever had and, outside of parenting and creating stories, is the most enjoyable! I truly love seeing new concepts “click” with my students.

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them. I look forward to hearing from my readers with comments, thoughts, and “constructive criticism.”
