Losing Her (Lost and Found Book 1)
Page 19
Dropping my clothes, I picked her up, wrapped her legs around my waist and carried her to the bed. I didn’t care that we were soaked or that her skin tasted like salt. I just needed to bury myself in her. To be surrounded by the warmth of her core.
I laid her down gently, peeling her arms and legs from around me. Her breasts, covered in goosebumps, looked fucking delicious. I cupped them with my hands, thumbing her nipples as I leaned down to kiss her lips. Her back arched up into me as I kissed my way down her body, stopping just below her navel.
“I’m going to make you come now.”
She bit down on her lip, watching me with greedy eyes as I peeled her wet panties over her hips and down her legs. I tossed them on the floor, too preoccupied to care where they landed. Spreading her thighs apart, I ran my tongue along the length of her slit. She sighed, and I knew she was impatiently waiting for me to lick her clit. I loved when she was greedy for me. It made me want to draw her pleasure out a little longer.
I kept up the simple movement, licking her slit, nipping at her inner thigh, and kissing all over her perfect pussy. I was a man obsessed. She started bucking up from the bed, trying to persuade my tongue to delve deeper into her, but I resisted, much to her chagrin.
“Please Derrick,” she groaned, reaching for my head.
“Are you begging, Alina?” I crooned against her sex.
“Please. I’ll do anything.”
“Are you going to come for me?”
“Yes!” she exclaimed.
I knew she was going to orgasm quickly, but I hadn’t expected the flood of arousal that gushed from her within seconds of pleasuring her. I slipped my tongue past her folds, tasting her unique sweetness and loving how soft she was in my mouth. I circled her clit with my tongue and lapped at every inch of her intimate parts.
Not even a full two minutes later, she was quaking on my mouth.
Her thighs shook and she cried out just before her orgasm flooded my tongue. I licked and sucked every last drop of her pleasure, savoring the taste of her.
In one fluid movement, my pants were on the floor and I was pressing the head of my cock past her opening. I nearly collapsed from how hot she was. Her pussy gripped me and she cried out softly as I pushed deep inside her. I fought the urge to drive into her hard and fast.
No, I wanted to take my time and savor the way we fit together. A shiver ran down my back as I pulled out and rocked my hips forward, driving deeper into her.
“So. Perfect,” I grunted out.
She clung to me, a loud moan coming out of her. I smiled loving how unabashedly she showed how I made her feel. She held back nothing. Calling out my name, clawing at my back. I was fucking her the way she liked. Deep and slow. Taking all the time in the world to build us up until we crashed together over the edge of ecstasy.
I sucked on her bottom lip, her wine-soaked breaths panting over me as instinct drove me to thrust faster. I was chasing that familiar stirring deep in my groin. Her sex was dripping wet, suckling sounds
echoing in the air the faster we moved together. She started to whine, letting me know that she was close.
My name spilled over her lips as she climaxed. Her pulsating cunt made thrusting an even harder feat. I erupted right after her, burying my face in her neck. I roared loudly against her sweat-soaked skin as the last of my orgasm twisted out of me.
When we both finally calmed down, I kissed her on the mouth again, loving the way she held on tight to me. Her eyelids fluttered, heavy from her orgasm as she moaned against my mouth.
“Mmm you weren’t kidding.”
I chuckled, “You were ready, weren’t you?”
She bit her lip, seductively, “I’m always ready when it comes to you.”
I kissed her again, “Yes you are, baby girl.”
It was always the most difficult task, pulling away from her. I loved our connection and how our bodies felt pressed together. We laid that way for awhile, kissing and touching just enough to keep the fire burning. But eventually, we untangled our limbs and I ran her a warm bubble bath. Admiration for her naked body pulled my lips into a smile as I watched her sink into the hot water.
“Enjoy your bath. Relax. Tomorrow is a big day,” I said, kissing the top of her head, once she was settled in.
She poked her bottom lip out, “You sure you don’t want to join me?” her face hopeful.
It was an enticing offer. The bath was more than big enough for the two of us. I needed to rinse off the combination of pool salt, sex, and sweat, but I had some business to take care of first.
“No, not tonight. Being on the run with you wore me out. I need a shower and bed.”
She slipped further down into the steaming swirl of bubbles, burying all but her head, “I have a bed,” she cooed.
I shook my head, “You’re going to be the death of me, Alina.
Goodnight.”
She tossed a handful of soap bubbles at me, “Night!”
I smiled all the way back to my room and through my shower.
The night had turned into a wild adventure. I should have guessed that spending time with her anywhere would be fun. Even with the prying eyes and constant stream of people around the house, we had carved out our own little world. I loved that about being with her. It made my desire to make this real grow stronger
As I dressed, my thoughts shifted to the business I still had to take care of. Jason. The stunt he pulled in the car and at dinner was completely unnecessary and risked my cover being blown. Guilt racketed through me as my reality hit again.
Alina was my mark. The woman I was investigating. And I could never fully let my guard down with her, even if being with her felt more right than anything I’d ever felt before. The man I was because of Alina
— because she’d made me completely torch the rules and regulations I’d set for myself— was a much better one. But no matter what I wanted, I couldn’t be what she needed because who she believed me to be was a lie.
I tossed on a pair of shoes and left my guest room in search of him. Instinct told me that he was still on the property, although dinner had been over two hours ago. I wandered down the halls and stairwells following my instincts to the library. Rounding the corner, I saw him standing in the room all alone. As if he was waiting for someone.
He turned to face me when I stepped into the open room, a contemplative look on his face, “Derrick,” he said, acknowledging me.
Though the tone of his voice sounded as if the person he’d been waiting for was me all along.
“Jason,” I nodded, “a word?”
He opened his hands, indicating one of the large arm chairs around him as he sat down, “Have a seat.”
“I’d rather stand,” I replied quickly. My jaw was twitching and my blood was beginning to boil just under the surface. I took a couple deep breaths to quell the anger rising up within me. It seemed that this man was becoming a huge trigger for my anger.
“As you wish,” he replied back, seemingly unbothered.
“Do you mind explaining why you’re so hellbent on blowing my cover?”
“Me? Blowing your cover?” he laughed, “Interesting.”
“The way you handled yourself in the car leaving the train station and the inquisition at dinner. What is your end game, here?”
“My end game?” he leaned back in the chair, “I’m more curious about yours. Why are you even here, Derrick? You weren’t hired to fuck her. Furthermore, the way I speak to Alina is none of your concern.
When you are here at the manor, you’re in my territory. I run this entire operation,” he finished by folding his hands in his lap, looking pleased with himself.
I stared at him for awhile, letting his words sink in. My gut reaction was to lunge at him, to rip his throat out, to hurt him in some tangible, physical way, but I maintained my composure. I stepped forward to perch lightly on the chair across from him, the coffee table the only thing separating us.
“This may be your territory, b
ut you will never speak to Alina in any disrespecting way as long as I’m around. You can trust me on that.”
I sneered, “but tell me this, what upsets you more? That I’m here with Alina or the fact that I’m fucking Alina? Which is it?”
Jason’s jaw set in a hard line and his eyes flamed with anger,
“Remember who you work for, Derrick,” he threatened, “you have no idea who you’re messing with.”
“And neither do you. I’m here to do my job and if you blow my cover, it’ll only make your job more difficult,” I reminded him, “let us not forget why you needed me, Jason. You needed access to Alina and she was never going to give that to you.”
With that, I stood and walked out of the room, not bothering to hear his reply.
EIGHTEEN | Derrick
I missed her.
I shouldn’t miss her, but here I was, fucking missing her.
Outside of one passionate kiss this morning, I hadn’t been able to see her all day. She’d crept into my room where I was passed out from the events of the day before, slipped into bed with me and kissed all over my chest and neck until I woke up. We laid together for nearly an hour, kissing and talking in hushed tones, before she had to rush off to get ready for the party. Something about an entire prep team showing up to get her primped and primed to look her best.
I told her she looked her best just as she was that morning.
Messy, untamed curls, fresh face devoid of makeup, and barefoot in her pajamas. Then she laughed and kissed me, climbing up to straddle my body. My morning wood rubbed against her cleft and we both groaned, wishing we had time to explore each other. Instead, we moved together, stirring up a sexual frenzy between us that only made separating that much harder.
That was hours ago, and I still craved her.
And I was supposed to be getting some distance from her. I laughed at that pathetic attempt. After my conversation with Rod, I’d only lasted a few days before she pulled me back in with her magnetic personality. Being so close together on the train ride had sent me over the edge and I realized I couldn't do it. And if I was being honest, I didn’t fucking want to.
I wondered again if I could tell her how I felt. If I told her everything about me, how I’d come into her life and what I was originally at that cafe for, would she be able to look past all of that and just be with me? My chest expanded with hope. Maybe. It’d certainly stop Jason from trying to ruin me.
My eyes shifted to the phone lying near me. What would Rod say about that? He was the quintessential investigator. Compromising his position was something he never did and he never endorsed either.
He’d already told me to leave her alone though. If only he knew where we were and what was going on now…
No. I couldn’t ask him for advice on this.
I glanced at the clock. Five o’clock. The party started soon, but we were due to meet the limousines in an hour. My phone vibrated, her name illuminating the screen.
Alina: t-minus sixty minutes until I see you…
My mouth curved upward into a smile. I quickly typed back a reply:
I can’t wait.
I set my phone back down, making sure the battery was charging properly, then marched to the bathroom to start getting ready.
a
I descended the staircase and stood in the foyer waiting for everyone else to arrive. Checking the watch on my wrist, I realized I was still a few minutes early for our “call time”. I busied myself by checking my phone for any emails that might’ve come through with my ongoing monitoring of the Prescott family.
A few minutes later, Vivian rounded the corner, regal as ever in a rich sapphire gown that emphasized her small frame. Her black hair pulled high and tight, lifting the corners of her eyes. Her lips were stained crimson and, though I knew she was wearing makeup, it had been expertly applied to look as though her skin naturally glowed that way.
A warm smiled spread across her face, “Derrick.”
I approached her, returning the smile, “Mrs. Prescott.”
Playfully smacking my arm, she chided me, “Oh hush. It’s Vivian, darling. You’re practically one of us now.”
“One of us?” I asked, confused.
She turned, glancing around to see if anyone was nearby. When she discovered we were all alone she turned back, a coy grin on her face, “Yes, darling. You and Alina. You working for Thomas. You’re practically one of us now.”
“Me and Alina?” I asked again, pretending I didn’t understand.
She stepped closer, this time taking my hands in hers. The woman was tall, but I towered over her. In my research of her, I learned she used to be a fashion model in her younger days. That was how she met Thomas. His company was in charge of creating one of the largest fashion shows of its time and she was one of the models.
In her prime, she was stunningly beautiful like her daughter. I gathered that she was more than likely quite sought after. Even now, she was still incredibly attractive and carried herself with practiced grace and poise. Seeing and knowing Vivian, it wasn’t hard to see where Alina got it from.
“Darling, I see the way she looks at you. And I see the looks you give her in return. Whatever is going on between you two is real,” she said, confidently.
My neck felt stiff. I removed my hands from hers and rubbed just below my skull. Was it really that obvious?
“And I approve. You brought her home when nothing else could.
You’re more than worth what you charge.”
I didn’t know what to say.
“Mrs. Prescott, your husband needs your assistance,” a voice called out from the corner. We both glanced over and saw one of the household staff, beckoning for her attention.
“Oh, he must need help choosing another tie,” Vivian laughed,
“Excuse me, dear. I’ll be right back.”
“Not a problem, ma’am,” I nodded to her as she turned and walked off with the woman, the long train of her dress swishing behind her.
I closed my eyes, processing the conversation that just took place. What Vivian had insinuated, and the implications that arose from it… it was making my head spin. If she could tell Alina and I had grown close, then everyone else must know as well. The entire family knew my real identity and yet, they seemed to approve of my relationship with Alina. I didn’t quite know what to make of that.
The clicking of heels pulled at my attention and I turned toward the sound. Champagne colored fabric billowed around her as she descended the staircase. The bodice of the dress hugged her frame
tightly with a plunging neckline that tastefully showed off her feminine curves and delicate straps that clung to her tiny shoulders.
It wasn’t until she reached the landing that I realized I’d been holding my breath. My lungs were burning for fresh oxygen and I felt helpless with Alina standing in front of me looking the way she did.
Rosa’s creation was breathtaking on her. Her beauty team had lightly tousled her hair in soft waves that cascaded over one shoulder, and the glow on her face enhanced her inherent beauty.. I was blown away by the woman before me.
Maybe it was because I hadn’t seen her in hours, but I felt a distinct aching looking at her now. Like my heart would never recover from how wonderful she was in this moment. She looked up at me, expectantly, and I realized I’d been silent for more than a few minutes.
“I will never get used to having my breath stolen by the sight of you.”
Her eyes grew wide, as if she’d never heard those words before,
“Derrick,” was all she managed to say.
I moved to her, lifting her chin and caressing her cheek, “So beautiful,” I whispered before leaning down and kissing her. My lips touched hers timidly and I realized my hand was shaking. I deepened the kiss, feeling like I needed her more than ever before. My chest constricted, heart pounding like it would come bursting out of me at any moment, and I enclosed her in my arms to try and quell the overwhelming emotions that consumed me.
She struggled, at first, to keep up with my sudden intensity, but eventually she relented, leaning into me and letting me take her the way I needed her. I couldn’t understand what was happening or why I suddenly felt so emotional seeing her, but it was starting to make sense.
I was falling in love with her.
Or I had already fallen. Either way, it didn’t matter. All I knew was that no matter how hard I tried, no matter how many walls I threw up to try and keep the effect of her at bay, I was losing the battle. She’d shaken me up from the very first moment I laid eyes on her and, although it hadn’t been long, I knew I wouldn’t be able to walk away from her when the contract was over.
No matter how fucked up my past or this current situation was, no matter how long I had to explain myself, no matter what this may cost me professionally, I couldn’t deny my feelings for her any longer. They threatened to burst out of me anyway. I felt that now. That inexplicable, overwhelming surge of emotion. Every single wall was down.
