  “Two Face-“

“Two Face can’t get to you here. He would be stupid as fuck to try and get you here.”

  “I’m cold. I’m hungry… I’m thirsty…” I blubber.

The thought of being safe is dangerous to me. I don’t want to feel safe. Feeling safe is like getting into a warm bath to get comfortable. Then the water turns cold. Then you get frostbite. It’s only a matter of time.

Dragon nods and gets up from the bed. “I’ll be back with some stuff for you. In the meantime, we have something for you to look at.”

  “What?”

“Your sister is here. And she’s been waiting to see you.”

  Chapter Nine: Prince

The drive up to see my dad, is a long one. My back starts to stiffen but I power through it anyway. I need to talk to my dad about what’s going on with The Cavalari Family. I also need to discuss what is going on with Elle.

I need to rationalize what is happening before I lose my shit.

I feel like I need to protect her. That’s why I jumped to stash her in my room. That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to keep her holed up in my bed until she’s feeling better.

Her blonde hair was all spread out on my pillow for the past couple of days and I have loved every moment of it. I want her. I want her so bad.

I just want to keep her safe as long as I can.

I see the fence to the prison and let out a deep breath. I need to get my shit together before seeing my dad. He will give me shit for letting my emotions get the best of me.

I park my bike and dismount it as I hear the other bike that have followed me up here park as well.

Beast parks and dismounts and walks over to me. “You ready, brother?”

  “Yeah, bro. Thanks for comin’.”

We walk through security and go up to the front desk. They always look at us as if we’re shit and nothing but ghetto pieces of shit in our cuts and patches blazing.

“We’re here to see Frank Mueller,” I announce to the woman behind the desk.

She’s a little over weight but eyeing us up and down. I know she wants to experience what it is like to be with a real bad boy.

“Um, are you family?” She shakily asks.

“Yeah. Can’t you see the family resemblance?” Beast points to our cuts. “Can we see our dad now?”

She groans. “All right. Let me call back to his pod and get him up here.”

I smile at her and then wink. She rolls her eyes trying to seem unaffected. I know she wants to know what it’s like to be with a bad guy.

Beast looks a little on the tired side as we try to fit our muscular frames into these plastic bull shit seats they have in the waiting room. I’m going to need just two for me.

Ever since that shit happened with Cass, I’ve been bulking up. If I can’t sleep, I lift weights. If I’m starting to feel pissed, I lift weights. If I’m starting to really feel fucking pissed, I get in the ring and handle it.

My stress level is already too high for my own good.

“You look tired. Did Bella keep you up all night?” I ask him with a nudge.

“Yeah, but not in a good way. She’s pissed as fuck that you won’t let her see Elle yet.”

I shrug. I’m used to people not liking what I have to say or do. It comes with the territory of being a president. “We’re not gonna talk about it in here.”

“Frank Mueller is ready!” The attendant hollers to get our attention.

We stand up out of the seats and groan about our backs. “When did we get old?” I demand.

He pushes me on my shoulder. “Let’s go see your pop and get back.”

The room where visitation is set up in a huge tight square. There’s about fifteen little desks on each side and a window separating both sides from each other. A phone on each side and those bull shit plastic chairs on either side.

My dad comes shuffling in wearing a blue jumpsuit with both his feet and wrists handcuffed together. He shuffles in his orange, prison grade slippers with dingy white socks sticking out.

  He looks pissed.

We take a seat in lucky number seven booth. My dad plops down and the guards undo his handcuffs on his wrists. Once their gone, my dad picks up the phone and snarls.

“What the fuck did I say about leaving them alone?” He demands.

I groan again. Beast and I are huddled together so we both can listen to the phone. He’s the one that speaks first.

“We found Bella’s sister. We had to do it.”

He shakes his head. “When I was president, I wouldn’t have let those mother fuckers live. Fuck that bull shit!”

“I see prison didn’t change your vocabulary, dad,” I mumble.

Dozer’s eyes are wide as he glare at me. “I don’t give two shits if you’re my son or not. You need to finish this shit.”

“Dad, we’re doing what we can.”

“Not nearly enough, if you ask me. We need a little more action instead of shooting.”

I nod. “How do we detox the girl?”

“What did they put her on?”

We’re careful to not say any names or any organizations in case we are being listened to. I know the District Attorney was trying to get my dad to flip on the entire club, but he wouldn’t. They wanted to know where the drugs are. Where the guns come from, too.

All the shit we pedal to make money.

“We’re thinking the usual,” Beast answers for me.

I’m too busy looking around the visitation room to make sure no one is listening to us. I don’t want these fuckers thinking they have something on us and arrest us or whatever. Cops are twisted as fuck.

“You just gotta wait for it to detox. When I was on that shit, I just had to wait. She’s going to be fucked for a long time. Be prepared for it. Once the drugs are out of her system, you need to be there for her.”

  We both nod.

“How are you doing?” I ask him in hopes of changing the tune.

My dad chuckles. “Dandy. I’m livin’ the fuckin’ dream over here!”

“Don’t get too comfortable. We’re workin’ on getting’ you out,” Beast mutters.

“I’ll believe it when I see it. I doubt it. I’m gonna be here for the time they booked me in Club Med,” my dad says with sarcasm.

“Time’s up, Mueller!” A guard says with malice. I can tell my dad must have pissed off this guard somehow.

He’s about as tall as my dad with gray hair and a full beard. His hair is back in a ponytail and his uniform is a little too tight around his gut.

“All right, all right. I’m gettin’ up. I’ll see ya later, bros. Be good and keep me posted.”

We make a fist and pound our chest with it to show solidarity. A majority of the brotherhood has done some kind of time behind bars and if they haven’t yet, they will eventually.

“Let’s get back to the clubhouse and see if Elle’s awake,” I tell Beast as I mount my bike.

I’m anxious to see if she’s awake and if she remembers anything.

  Chapter Ten: Chloe

It wasn’t hard to find the Diablos MC clubhouse out in the middle of an industrial park. They are surrounded by empty buildings that look depilated. There isn’t much going on around the clubhouse besides a whole slew of bikes outside of what looks like a mechanic garage.

I have Kyle with me as backup in case shit goes south. I would have normally asked to bring Howard or even Grant, but they didn’t want any conflict of interest.

Kyle shifts in his seat as he looks out his window at the clubhouse.

There’s nothing special about it. No insignia besides a devil looking thing on the wall. Nothing that tells the visitor where they are.

  Absolutely nothing.

  “Nervous?” I ask him.

He nods. “I haven’t been out in the field like this yet.”

“You can stay in the car. Nothing bad is going to happen. I’m just going to ask some questions.”

  Waiting for his answer
, I take the keys out of the ignition and wait for him. Kyle is newer to the FBI and he needs help getting out of his comfort zone.

“All right. I’ll come in,” he mumbles while unbuckling his seatbelt.

We get out of the car at the same time and I lock it before leaving it. I want to make sure the government car is safe.

“You know, these type of people don’t usually talk,” Kyle informs me as if I didn’t know.

“Yeah, but we’re not here to bust anyone.”

I smooth my crazy curly blonde hair out of my face while we walk around the corner of the clubhouse to what I hope is the main entrance. In the background, there are motors rumbling and people yelling at whatever they are doing.

I knock on the door and wait for someone to answer it. When no one does, I knock again. This time, I use more force to get their attention.

Soon, the door is yanked open and a man is standing in front of us with a sour expression.

“We already donated to the police fund or whatever. Thanks!” He grumbles out and tries to shut the door.

I speak up louder than him so he knows I mean business. “I’m FBI Agent Chloe Delacruz and this is my partner Kyle Morris. We need to speak to the president, please.”

He chuckles. “Want me to get him on the horn for ya? I think you would have a better chance talkin’ to the man than we would. We’re just lowly old men searching for love,” he retorts and places his hand over his heart.

“Cute,” I mutter. “I need to speak to the president of your gang.”

The doorman sobers up. “We are not a gang, lady. We don’t want anything.”

“It’s about The Cavalari Family,” I answer.

There is a couple rumblings in the room and then two men who look imposing are standing in front of me. They are easily over two hundred pounds full of muscle and tattoos cover every inch of their exposed skin.

“We don’t know The Cavalari Family, lady,” one says.

I look over his chest to see the president patch and know I have finally found the one I have been looking for. “I think you do. I would like to talk to you about the woman you found.”

He shakes his head. “I don’t know anything about a woman being found, lady. I suggest you get off our property before we release the dogs.”

“I work for the Anti-Trafficking Division of the FBI and I think you know exactly who I am talking about.”

“Ma’am, I think it’s time for you to leave,” the other man says with his hand reaching behind his back.

Normally, I would consider this a threat, but they are doing what they do best. They are trying to intimidate me into backing down. It’s not going to happen.

I reach behind me and hear a whole bunch of shits! coming from inside. “I’m reaching for a business card! My piece is on the other side.”

I slide out a card and hand it to the president. “In case you do find who I am talking about, please call me. I’m not here to start anything. I’m here to end this shit once and for all.”

Without saying anything more, Kyle and I spin on our heels and walk away from the front door.

  That’s when I hear it.

  “Wait!” Someone shouts behind us.

I turn to look at the president and his friend in front of us. “Yes?”

“We don’t know who you’re talking about. But we might have intel if you give us something in return.”

“What do you want?” I reply. I know they are going to ask for something crazy.

“Immunity from anything that might incriminate myself and the brothers.”

  “Deal.”

The man nods his head and leaves me with one more thing. “I’ll be in touch.”

  Chapter Eleven: Prince

With the constant ringing of Two Face’s phone, I’m about three seconds from throwing it out the fucking window.

Every time the phone rings, I feel as if someone else is in the house with us.

We are playing a dangerous game taking the mobster’s phone with us for intel. Go ahead and judge me, but I’m a man of power. His phone gives me the power to find out their next steps.

And the leverage I need to stay on top.

It’s only a matter of time before they come looking for Big Tony, Two Face and Elle. Elle’s going to be nowhere to be found. That’s for sure.

“What did they do to my sister?” Bella cries over Elle on my bed.

Beast’s doing his best to console her, but I doubt it’s doing anything to help ease the pain she’s feeling.

Bella didn’t even know she had a sister until one of our connects informed us of the connect we needed. And on the bright side, since we have both of the sisters, it’s only a waiting period before their dad comes looking for them.

That’s another piece of shit I can’t wait to put down. I’m going to put him down like a rabid wolf.

“Shush, Bella. How were you supposed to know what was going on?” Beast tries to soothe.

It’s not going to work. I understand the guilt over not being able to someone you love. The guilt is strong and can swallow you whole.

“I don’t know her… I don’t know anything about her. Beast, what happens if she doesn’t even like me?”

I roll my eyes. The girl means well. I think, at least.

He rubs her back in a soothing circle which only drives a wedge through my chest. I don’t know where that came from, but I rub my chest to ease the ache.

Dragon pokes his head through the door with a mischievous smile. “Prez, I heard you had an interesting meeting with a fed.”

I nod. “Yeah. Wants to talk to Elle to squeeze her for my information. I don’t know what she’s expecting to get out of her, though. The girl was drugged up the whole time. She probably doesn’t even know her own name.”

“I doubt that. I was just talking to her for about a half hour. You need to be careful, Prince. The girl is covered in bruises and shit.”

Bella cries out a little and burrows her face into Beast’s cut.

“I’m going to go in first and then I’ll let you guys in,” I explain as I stub out my blunt. The weed tasted a little too good today after all the stress I have had to put up with lately.

Sleeping next to Elle’s body is hard. I haven’t been able to actually sleep there, though. I can’t stand the thought of accidently wrapping my arms around her or having her cuddle with me. Anything that the silly couples do.

  I couldn’t imagine.

I walk the narrow hallway to my room at the end of the hallway. The president always gets the nicest room the MC has but since that’s my dad’s room, I use the second best room in the clubhouse. Even though my dad isn’t going to be getting out any time soon, it is a respect thing.

Knocking on my door bothers me, but I do it anyway. I don’t want to startle Elle too much by busting in on her while she’s resting.

There’s a faint reply in the room. She sounds weak and broken down; just like we expected her to feel.

Shit is about to get worse.

I open the door and look at someone going through withdrawals. Her skin looks gray and is stretched over the bones of her body. She’s sweating so hard I can see her skin through the thin cotton tee shirt I put on her to get her out of those whore clothes they gave her.

  “Elle?” I call out carefully.

“Who are you?” She asks equally as careful as I did.

“My name’s Prince. You’re sleeping in my bed.”

Her eyes widen a little. “This is- this is your bed?” She stammers.

“Yep,” I reply leaning against the frame for the door.

She tries to sit up, pulling the thin top sheet over her body to cover her torso. I want to look, but then I don’t. The last thing we need is for to think she’s only here for sex.

“Why- why did you take me?”

“Elle, I don’t know everything that happened to you, but I do know that some bad shit did. While you’re staying here, you don’t need to think we’re after sex.

“So, you don’t want to have sex with me?”

I think about my answer. “Baby, I think you’ve had so much sex you don’t even know what you want.”

“Why did you take me?” She asks again while she pushes some of her hair out of her face. Elle licks her lips a little to get them wet and continues to look me in the eye.
