“Seth...” Jane gasped, the need for the man in front of her fierce.

Grabbing Jane’s face once more, Seth pulled her towards him and before he could force any rationality into his brain, crashed his mouth down hard upon hers.

When her lips parted, he plunged his tongue into her mouth and felt his control spiralling into non-existence. He leant into her, his body desperate to be against hers and groaned into her mouth as her hands grabbed his buttocks.

Grabbing Jane around the waist, Seth picked her up and slammed her against the wall where she wrapped her legs around his hips. With his mouth still firmly on hers, he unzipped his trousers and quickly freed his thick hard length bursting at the seams for the woman he’d always belonged to.

Hearing Jane cry out with need, he pushed her lace thong to one side and dipped his finger teasingly into her wetness. Pulling his mouth from hers, he stared deep into her eyes and their gaze remained locked together.

No further words passed between them and without any further hesitation, Seth confidently slammed himself deep into the place he’d missed so much.

  FIFTY SIX

ATTEMPTING TO TURN OVER, Jane was initially confused. She had no room to move and her neck was so stiff she could barely turn it. Her cheek was resting on skin and hair and as she breathed in the familiar scent of Seth it all came flooding back. Oh shit. Last night...

Blearily opening her eyes, she saw she was on her chesterfield sofa in her office lying on top of Seth. What time was it?

Judging by the gloom around her she judged it to be fairly early. Had anyone seen them? What was she going to do? She’d broken her own rules.

Slowly and carefully she raised herself up. She needed to get out of here. Looking at Seth, her heart raced. His eyes were closed and his breathing slow. She took in his sculptured cheekbones and full mouth and resisted the powerful urge to press her lips down upon his. Her eyes ran over his broad chest and down the ridged muscles of his stomach. Stop it, Jane! You need to go.

Gingerly Jane began to slowly and carefully get off the sofa.

Seth opened one eye and grabbed her arm. “And where do you think you’re going?” he muttered, pulling Jane back down.

“It’s morning. We need to go. We can’t let anyone know we’ve been together,” she whispered.

Seth smiled, his hands slowly running over Jane’s breasts. “And why’s that? What does it matter?”

Jane batted his hands away even though she wanted them all over her. “Seth, you know we can’t do this.”

“Oh Jane,” Seth sighed. “We can do what we want!”

“But we talked about this,” Jane hissed. “It’s done remember?”

“You didn’t seem to think that last night if I remember rightly!” Seth smiled, his fingers tracing a line down over her stomach.

Jane shivered at his touch. “We shouldn’t have done what we did. We were both drunk.”

Seth frowned. “I wasn’t drunk and you seemed to know what you doing!”

It was true. She’d known exactly what she’d been doing. After he’d taken her up against the wall, they’d moved into the office and carried on. They’d spent virtually all night rediscovering each other. It had been intense.

“Besides, it’s still early,” Seth yawned. Sitting up he pulled Jane astride him. “Can’t you tell I need you?” he smiled, running his hand down his rigid cock.

Jane didn’t bother trying to resist. She couldn’t. She wanted him too much. Lifting herself up, she sank down onto his shaft. Groaning as he filled her, she closed her eyes, letting him grind deliciously against her.

Pulling Jane closer, Seth held her face. “Look at me,” he whispered. “Jane, look at me!”

Opening her eyes, she met his green gaze and began to drown once more. “Oh Seth, I...”

“Shh...” he whispered. “Don’t analyse anything. This is me and you, Jane. Me and you.” Grabbing her hips, he instigated a faster pace.

“No Seth, not yet!” Jane cried. Regardless of anything else, she wanted to drag this out for as long as possible and make it last for ever.

Seth pushed Jane onto her back. Pushing her knees up to her chest, he slammed back into her. “What do you mean, not yet? Why not? I’ll make you come as many times as I want.” Crashing his mouth onto hers, he continued to thrust relentlessly, muffling her cries.

Biting her throat, Seth felt Jane’s nails digging into his back, her body trembling beneath his. “Come for me baby, come for me now,” he growled.

Changing his position slightly, he rotated his hips and delved deeper, sensing her contracting around him. Christ, he loved her. He didn’t care what anyone said. Including himself. He needed to be with this woman. He always had.

“Seth,” Jane panted, her cries and moans echoing loudly around the room.

Seth couldn’t hold on any longer. His orgasm had been bubbling like a volcano and would soon peak. Clenching his jaw, he upped his pace to a breakneck speed as it approached.

Arching her back and writhing under him, Jane screamed out loudly as her climax wracked her body. Spent, Seth pulled out and as she sighed in the afterglow, he buried his head between her legs. Delving his tongue into her he could feel her still pulsing.

“Oh Christ!” Jane yelled. “I need a break!”

Coming up for air, Seth smiled. “Not yet, you don’t. I’ve been away from you far too long not to want to get my fill of you.”

Whilst Seth flicked his tongue rhythmically, Jane clutched at his hair as another orgasm quickly built. Her mind swirled in colours as another strong climax coursed through her body.

Panting, she attempted to sit up, the sweat dripping down her face, only for Seth to pull himself to his knees and bring his mouth down on hers once more.

Hard again, Seth couldn’t get enough of Jane and was more than enjoying the knowledge that he still had the same effect on her as he’d always had.

“Jane, you know I love you,” he said looking into her perfect heart-shaped face as he pushed into her again. “That has never stopped.”

Jane raised her hips, taking the man she loved so desperately as deep as possible. She wasn’t going to think about what any of this meant right now. She’d worry about everything later.

BARRY PULLED THE DOOR behind him closed and tried to blank out the sound of Eliza’s constant whining. Raising his eyebrows at Digger, he walked across the room. “So, Phil’s gone then?”

Digger nodded. “He left first thing. He’s got some deals to sort out today and needed to get back.”

Barry pursed his lips. He could have done with Phil on side because Bill was more likely to listen to his son. “And where’s Jim? I mean, Seth.”

Digger shrugged his shoulders. “He didn’t come back last night. Probably getting his leg over with one of the girls from the club.”

Barry raised his eyebrows. “I would suspect he’s been with Jane, or Marie. God this is all so confusing.”

“Jane? I doubt that. They can barely stand being in the same room as each other,” Digger mumbled. It was partly true at least. They only couldn’t stand being in the same room because it amplified their need for each other. Phil had seen it too. They’d both seen the way Seth’s eyes trailed Jane around last night.

“Well I saw him follow Jane up to her office last night and they didn’t come back down. At least as far I know, but then I was tied up with dealing with that stupid cow in there,” Barry nodded in the direction of the room housing Eliza.

He scowled. He’d known that woman was trouble the moment he’d met her. The fact she’d shafted both Carter and Charlie spoke volumes and he couldn’t see for the life of him as to why Bill was going to allow her to run Crystals.

“What exactly are we going to do about her?” Digger asked.

Barry sat thinking quietly and took a sip out of his mug of steaming hot tea. He was absolutely shattered. As if yesterday hadn’t been a long enough day as it was with all that Carter business and the wake, but t
o have to deal with a hysterical woman’s shit on top was something else. He sometimes thought he was getting too old for all of this clobber.

It had only been a minute or so after Seth had disappeared after Jane that a woman had dashed out of the Ladies screaming blue murder.

She’d gibbered something about someone being dead in the toilets. After Barry had as gently as possible clamped his meaty hand over her mouth and dragged her in his little office telling her in no uncertain terms to keep her voice down, had he deduced what she was talking about.

Rushing into the toilets, he’d found Eliza. She wasn’t dead, but pretty smashed up and furthermore, out stone cold. Kneeling down, he’d brought her round whilst the other woman – Maggie someone or other – had nervously hopped from foot to foot, flapping her hands.

Eliza had then started trapping off about Jane and Seth. She was going to call the police. She was going to tell them that Jane was up to her old tricks and that Seth wasn’t dead.

Now Barry was well aware he didn’t know the ins and outs of Seth and Jane’s history, but realised if both of them had felt the need to change their identities, then there was probably good reason for that and it was unlikely to be good.

The Maggie woman had then started crying even harder, screaming Jane would get sent back to prison and Seth would be arrested. It hadn’t taken him long to realise shit like that would jeopardise the club and the firm. He’d known all along that this would end in tears. He’d said so, hadn’t he?

Barry had told Maggie to go and fetch Digger and she’d quickly returned with both Digger and Phil, who’d told Eliza very clearly to calm down whilst she was patched up.

She’d obviously thought she was going to get airlifted to hospital or something that gave her the same sort of kudos as she’d been most put out when she’d been bundled off into one of the free offices upstairs and their own doctor called.

Jane had done a good job on her that was for certain. She was a right mess. Barry shrugged his shoulders. Hearing what the stupid bint had been threatening, Jane would probably have been better off finishing the mouthy slut. Still, there was nothing else for it now.

Barry looked back over to Digger. “We’re going to have to have a meeting with Bill before everyone else gets here and you know why.”

Digger nodded. He did indeed know why, but his reasons were very much different to Barry’s. “I know. Seth’s my mate and all, but this stuff with Jane is dangerous. He’s lost his way several times in the past courtesy of his feelings for her and it’ll happen again if we don’t stop it. Even Phil knows that.”

He had to pretend to be contrite. He needed both Phil and Barry on side to get Bill to take on board that he needed to get rid of Jane, Seth or both of them before the shit hit the fan. The longer they were together, the more likely they’d discover that he’d lied.

“It’s even more important that we move on this sooner rather than later now Miss Plastic Pants is spouting her gob,” Digger continued, nodding towards the door.

“Well, being as we’re here already, can you go and see if Bill’s in his office yet? I’ll keep an eye on her.” Barry said.

AS HE TANKED DOWN THE motorway on his black chopper, Phil hoped he’d made the right decision. He’d lied to Digger this morning when he’d said he’d got to head back early. He hadn’t actually had to leave early at all, but he’d wanted to speak to his father before anyone else had.

As much as he hadn’t liked to admit it, he knew something was not quite right and needed to let his father know before he was swayed by anything Digger may say. He had the feeling Digger would attempt to get Seth off the scene now Jane was back and he’d been correct.

Digger had been doing nothing but bleating on about Seth’s burgeoning involvement with Jane and how it would jeopardise his father’s firm, but Phil knew his concern wasn’t to do with loyalty towards Bill, but everything to do with wanting Jane to himself.

He’d been instantly suspicious when Jane had arrived back on the scene because only Digger had said she was dead. Ok, so they’d all believed him, but why wouldn’t they?

Unbeknown to Digger, Phil had put the feelers out and thanks to a couple of screws he had in his pocket, he’d been able to get the info he’d been looking for. He now had it on very good authority that no one had come asking for Jane at the prison. Neither had Digger or anyone been given any information stating she was dead. Which meant he’d made it up.

Now Phil had no idea as to why Digger would have lied to him or Seth if it hadn’t been purely for selfish reasons. In fact, he was more than livid himself because he’d been thoroughly gutted to hear of Jane’s death and had spent years shouldering the guilt that he hadn’t been able to prevent it when all this time it had been bollocks.

Admittedly he hadn’t been too happy Seth and Jane were risking becoming involved again, but he’d changed his mind after what he’d witnessed last night. He’d followed Seth upstairs and had seen him with Jane. They hadn’t known he was there, but he was.

Phil had almost been able to taste the raw love they had for each other and he’d painfully come to the conclusion of who was he to try and stop that kind of power? He only wished he had experienced that level of mutual need. It wasn’t just about lust or desire, he could see it was more than that. A hell of a lot more and it always had been.

Phil knew his father didn’t like in-house relationships, but he’d felt the need to explain that Seth and Jane were different. They were the most trustworthy pair he’d ever known and would happily go down on record to say he’d trust them with his life, which was not something he’d ever say lightly. Eliza was the one who shouldn’t be involved in anything. Her and Digger.

Bill had apparently also witnessed Seth and Jane in the corridor last night. Smiling, he’d told Phil they’d reminded him of the sort of love he and Sheila shared and he for one knew what happened when time was needlessly wasted and he wasn’t about to stop them.

When Phil heard what plan his father was considering, he thought it was a great idea, but would of course leave it down to him to make the final decision when the time came.

He’d left the club with the instructions to pull Digger out as soon as possible. What he was going to do about the information he now had, he wasn’t sure, but he would have to do something. He couldn’t let it go however long he and Digger went back.

  FIFTY SEVEN

SETH FORCED A SMILE at Dan sitting opposite him at a table in the Mitre. He hadn’t particularly wanted to come out, but when Digger had jumped in the shower, he’d taken the opportunity to escape his consistent scrutiny and disappeared out for a bit of peace. Not that he was getting a good feeling from Dan either, but that was another story.

Seth frowned and fumbled with his cigarette packet, knowing a dramatic shift had occurred over the past week. Since Sheila’s funeral the vibe he was getting from everyone was decidedly different and knew without any shadow of a doubt something was afoot. He just couldn’t pinpoint it.

Barry and Digger were the worst, but even Dan was being odd and it was irritating him. The only person who was treating him anywhere near normal was Bill.

Seth hadn’t breathed a word of what had happened with Jane the night of the wake to anyone, even though he’d felt like shouting it from the rooftops.

He’d never been the type to discuss his feelings or personal issues with anyone, but it was still difficult not to have Digger on side to bounce off. He felt he was trapped in his own head. Having to maintain he was outwardly ok was almost impossible, although he was holding it together quite successfully.

He still had the gnawing suspicion everyone knew he was struggling and had their theories as to why. They were trying to catch him in the act, but they didn’t need to. There was nothing to catch him out on. Apart from that one night.

Seth tipped his pint into his mouth and scowled. He’d felt fully alive again after that night with Jane. Despite his promise to himself, he’d put his cards on the table. She
d felt the same as him, he knew she had. He loved her desperately and wanted her.

She hadn’t reciprocated that information, not that he’d been surprised, but he’d genuinely thought there was something back between them. He frowned. He’d just got so carried away. It had felt so right, so natural being with her again. He hadn’t thought it through though, had he? Just made a fucking fool of himself.

“That should never have happened,” Jane had said as they’d got themselves ready to go to Bill’s meeting.

He’d tried to laugh her words off. Playfully grabbing her, he’d gone to kiss her. She’d been joking right?

Jane had quickly pulled away. “I mean it, Seth. You know we can’t do this. It was a mistake and it can’t happen again.”

Realising with a sense of dread she was being serious, the iron curtain had fallen back over his heart. “If that’s what you want,” he’d muttered, watching emotionlessly as Jane had mutely nodded. Turning, she’d walked from the office leaving him to stand there alone and utterly defeated.

Since then over the past week Jane had kept to her word. She’d avoided every conceivable chance of being alone with him and hadn’t even glanced in his direction. The pull between them was still as strong as ever and attached like a succubus, but separated by the lines of knives in Jane’s mind. He knew she was protecting herself by not going down that road again with him, but then so was he and he was willing to risk it, despite the demons. It was too strong not to.

Seth also knew everyone was keeping tabs on him because they didn’t want relations infringing on club business. He was, after all, aware of Bill’s take on that, but what could he do? He couldn’t go through the rest of his life not being with the woman he loved just to please everyone else.

He’d made the decision that once Bill was back on his feet again, he’d go. He would leave the city and move on.
