“All I need to know is if you want me to use one. I’m clean, but the pill isn’t a hundred percent. A condom will be extra protection.”

  “Okay. Use one.”

  “Unless you want a kid.”

I laughed. “What?? Me?? You don’t want- do you??” Okay, mood killer!!

“Anytime you’re ready. How about we risk it this time? The first time. I want to feel you.” Okay, maybe not a total mood killer.

“Works for me.” I reached down and lifted my hips to see if I can find where he belongs.

He closed his eyes as his tip tested tight muscles. “This is going to hurt us both.”

I tried to force my body to calm down and relax for him but it’s not so easy. My fingernails dug into his back as he lowered his weight pushing in a little further. “Don’t stop until you have to. We’re dragging out the pain.”

“I know.” He kissed my lips and sunk in a little more. “I like it.” I giggled. “Don’t laugh dammit.” He nipped my jawbone then leaned his head against mine as the rest of him sunk slowly into the rest of me. He’s breathing rapidly. “Shit.”

I’m biting my lip as my body recovers from the sharp snap that made me a woman. “Ouch.”

“I felt it.” He’s starting to recover his breath. “I felt you.” He pushed up on his hands to find my eyes with his. “You okay? Should I stop?”

“No. Go slow, but don’t stop. It’s fading pretty quick. I felt it too. So weird.” I ran my hands over his smooth chest.

“I- shouldn’t be bringing this up, but I just realized my ex-wife lied to me.”

  “What?”

“She told me she was a virgin. I’m pretty sure now she just made sure we did it at the end of her cycle for the blood. I never felt that with her.”

“Maybe she lost it horseback riding but didn’t know how to explain it to you? I don’t know. I’m sure she had her reasons.”

“Yeah, her reason being that may not have been my kid.” He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “I’m sorry. I told I shouldn’t have said anything. This is worst possible timing.” He scolded himself.

“It’s okay. I think a realization like that would be a little disturbing. Let’s put it aside for now and get back to us.” I wiggled my hips to remind him why we’re here.

That’s all it took to get his full un-divided attention once more. The smile cleared my mind and we got back to doing away with my virginity. Now I’ve read my share of romance novels, but never really understood the need for all those hyped up adjectives until now. Ravaged and thoroughly loved are the two that stand out the most right now.

I woke up before him the next morning with a full bladder in need of epic relief. The second I sat and couldn’t go a lightening bolt of pain slammed into the nether regions of my girl parts.

“What the hell??” I have to pee so bad I pushed through the pain only to feel like I was being sliced open from below. “OW ow ow ow ow ow ow!!! Gunner!!!!”

He came barreling in so fast he slipped on the rug and landed firmly on his naked ass. “Fuck!! What the hell Violet?!!”

  I can’t stop laughing.

He finally regained control of himself and stood. “Why are you laughing?? You just yelled for me!” He’s yelling now.

“Why does it hurt so bad to pee??!!” I yelled back.

He ran his hand through his hair. “Jesus. You scared the shit out of me. It’s called honeymooners. You’re sore. Get used to it.” My Gunner sneered at me like he has so many times over the years.

“That’s it?? Because it feels like I’m on fire.” I grabbed the roll of toilet paper and wound a wad around my fingers.

“Guys get something similar. Something I’m not looking forward to once you get out of my way.”

“Go use the other one. I’m going to need to sit on an ice block all day.” My bladder began to let go again so he left me alone to go relieve his with a wave of his had as if dismissing me.

After a rather painful shower Gunner went to get us a couple pizzas. I refused to mount his bike. He offered to drive his truck instead, but I didn’t feel like getting dressed anyway. This bathrobe is just fine, and the only thing that’s not irritating well sated girl parts. Holy shit even my nipples are sore.

Gunner put his mushrooms on my plate as usual. “What do you want to do today?”

“Nothing. For once in my life I just want to sit here and stare off into the woods.” I motioned to the pine trees littering the side of one of many red-orange mountainsides.

“Fine with me, but you’re going to need to find me something to do besides you.” He’s already been turned down twice because I’m too sore.

“Why are we being exiled to Sedona again?”

“Slider and I want things to cool off for a couple weeks. Joe has some prospects watching your place. The guy that hit you is nobody to be taken lightly. Slider doesn’t want a war over a bitch slap, sorry.” He added realizing he’d called me a bitch.

“It’s okay, I know what you meant. I don’t want a war over it either. Do you really think a couple weeks will be enough for him to forget?”

“I think it’ll go a long way to helping him realize his cousin was wrong in trying to break into your place, and that you were right to defend yourself when he chased you into your own home.” Gunner, the Sargent at Arms, explained.

“I think he got the message when we talked.”

Gunner shook his head. “The only reason he let you live is because it was daylight and he probably doesn’t really want a war either. If he makes another move Slider, Goat, and I will agree to demolish the gang. Someone will go to prison. Hence the hesitation.” He took a big bite of his now mushroom free slice of pizza.

I picked at mine eating the mushrooms he’d so graciously given me. “This is one of those gangs you let exist isn’t it?”

  He shrugged.

  “Why?”

“Club business babe. Drop it.” He took another bite filling his big mouth.

“If I’m going to be Salina’s predecessor you might as well get used to telling me this shit. You know you have my confidence. Why are we letting these assholes exist in our town?”

He blinked at me then sat back setting his half-eaten pizza on the plate in front of him. “They have the drug market cornered coming up from Mexico. As much as we don’t like it, they’re easily traceable, and so far their shit’s not killing people, unless they overdose on purpose. It’s a lesser of two evils kind of thing, similar to this year’s election.”

“But you don’t exactly have a forged peace.” I concluded.

“No. We strongly disapprove, but taking them out would only leave an opening for a new gang we’re not as familiar with. That’s why Slider won’t let me kill the fucker who hit you. He’s not in charge, but close.”

“Makes sense. Thank you for telling me. If he comes around again I’ll make sure to handle it accordingly, but if he draws up on me again I will kill him. You might want to warn Slider that I’ll only take so many punches before I punch back, and it has nothing to do with you.”

“You have everything to do with me, and the club. Calm your tits woman. Just because you can take a hit doesn’t mean I’m going to allow it. Eat your pizza so I can climb back inside that tight little body of yours.”

A strange sense of relief fell over me. Gunner has always been my protector. It’s nice feeling safe again. “None for you. Not until later tonight. I can barely walk.”

He sat forward picking up his pizza again. “Great. One day as my wife she’s already cutting me off.”

I kicked his foot under the table. “I am not. If you hadn’t tried to wear it out the first night you might not be cut off today.”

He smiled around a mouthful of pizza. For the first time ever Gunner looked absolutely adorable. Happy. I’ve never seen him smile, not like this. His smiles are usually faked or forced. Not this one. This one is playful.

“Quit.” I grabbed his hand befo
re it could wander any further up my skirt.

“Like you can stop me.” Oh my god he’s been a pain in the ass the last week!

I dug my fingernails into his wrist. “Dammit Gunner, we’re in public.”

“Not really.” He looked around. “Do you see anybody?”

“It’s a hiking path. Someone will show up- Shit.” Too late. The man is fast.

“I can’t help myself.” He says this a lot, which of course makes me forgive him instantly.

I leaned back into him as he pulled out and pushed back in. “At least we’re not in Target.” He attacked me in the men’s underwear section of Target the other day. I’m sure whoever was on camera duty in the security department had a field day with that one.

“I told you to wear jeans.”

Okay, to be honest I wore this yoga skirt just to torment him. I’m starting to enjoy making him want me. Don’t tell him that, although I’m sure he’s well aware of my games.

I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck. “I wish we could stay like this forever.”

“Me too.” His lips brushed mine. “But I have to get back to work, and you have a business to run.”

“I know. What happens when we get back? Can we still live at my place?”

“I put my house back on the market. When it sells we’ll find another place, a house with a garage. For now we’ll stay where we are. I’m going to have prospects on you round the clock. It’ll be good for them.” He seemed to decide.

“Do you think the club would mind if I moved in with them?” I asked only half kidding. This feeling safe is nice.

His eyebrows drew together. “Slider bought a piece of property a few years ago to move the club, but there’s been zoning issues over the garage. How many acres do you have there?”

“One and three quarters times three. Basically three horse properties. I won’t sell one, but I’m open to selling the other two.”

  “How about leasing them?”

“Same difference. The only thing is, I don’t want to be Exile’s landlord. He buys or I can’t do it.” I’m not stupid. The club is good for the money. That’s not the problem. I won’t play power-tripping games, not with Slider. Not with Gunner.

  “How much?”

I smiled drawing him in so I can kiss his neck while messing with him. “One Gunner and a baby.”

He straightened as a couple passed. “What?”

I chewed my lip for a second before realizing I might not be kidding. “Five years. If we’re still together, and alive, I want to try for a baby.”

He huffed out a breath. “Idiot. You scared the shit out of me. If you want a kid fine, but not until we get this Mexican off your back.”

“You do realize there will always be someone threatening us, right?”

“Yes. Fine.” Poor Gunner is definitely not ready to have this talk. “I want you to myself for a while. We’ll talk about kids later. If having one is a deal breaker then we’re going to have a problem.”

“It’s not, and I’m in no hurry anyway. I just wanted to see how you felt. I mean, you almost had a kid once. Do you ever think about having another one?” I know this is dangerous territory but I can’t help myself. I need to know how he feels about this shit. It’s important.

Gunner took my hand and pulled me back onto the trail. “My life is a lot different now than it was back then.”

I had to jog a little to keep up with his long stride. “Slow down. I just think it would be cool to have a little Gunner running around. Can you imagine if we had a girl??” I laughed at the idea of Gunner protecting his teenage daughter.

“I can imagine me in prison for killing her boyfriends.”

  I cracked up.

“It’s not funny.” He pulled me over to a scenic overlook and tucked my back to his front while tangling our arms perfectly around my middle. “You’d have to raise her alone.”

“I’d never let you go to prison. I’d break you out and we’d run away to some non-extraditing country with too many coconuts and not enough rum.”

He kissed the top of my head. “You probably would.”

After a few minutes I turned in his arms and looked up. “We can’t live at my place anymore.”

“I know.” He pulled me in tight against him. “I still own the house my ex-wife was murdered in. We can’t live there, but I can sell it. Unfortunately it’s not worth much because I have to disclose the incident.”

“Wait. Why can’t we live there?”

“No Violet. I won’t have you living with that ghost.”

“Me?? Forget me. What about you? Does it bother you?”

  “The house didn’t kill her.”

“Exactly. Tell you what, let’s give it a try when we get back to the valley. My place is too big of a target, you’re basically homeless without me. If it gets creepy we’ll sell it and buy something we can afford.”

“Since when do you make all the decisions?” He asked from behind those damn aviators.

I carefully took them off and tilted my head enjoying the view. Gunner is not handsome, he’s strikingly sexy as fuck. Those green eyes could melt any heart, even though he’s always got this look like he’s up to something, like plotting your death. “Just because you wear the pants doesn’t mean I’m going to roll over like a little bitch whenever you bark.”

He barked at me so hard I screamed and laughed losing my breath as he chased me up the rest of the mountain. Turns out Gunner has a very playful side I’ve never seen before. If the guys at the club could see him now they’d think he’d lost his mind.

We hiked, rather I ran while he chased threatening to make love to me in every nook he could find. He caught me in a secluded spot behind a giant bush for a quickie that just made me fall in love with him all over again. I love his passion. I crave how he feels inside me. Everyone should feel this desired, it’s empowering.

Those two weeks might as well have been a honeymoon. It was definitely a dream come true. I got to see a side of Gunner I wonder if his first ever wife saw. I’m not sure this side existed until recently. He’s relaxed, but not. Gunner will always have one eye looking over his shoulder.

The ride back to the valley in his truck was oddly quiet compared to the last two weeks. I finally unfastened my seatbelt and slid over lifting his arm to drape around my shoulders. “So, if I’m going to eventually inherit Salina’s position, do you think the girls will give me a jacket?”

“No. You have to earn that.” He replied in that cool tone I can’t say I’ve missed. Gunner is back.

  “How?”

“Fuck if I know. Sister business is none of my business. Talk to Salina or Red. I make it a point to avoid their nonsense.” He sounds kind of annoyed now.

I looked up wishing I could rewind the clock. I miss the way we were yesterday, and the two weeks before. “You don’t want me advertising do you?”

“No.” He turned acknowledging that I’m not a complete idiot and stole a quick kiss before looking back at the road ahead. “I’m going to put you in my pocket and carry you around where I can protect you twenty-four-seven.”

I hugged and snuggled up to him even more. “I wish I could fit my fat ass in your pocket.”

  “You’re not fat.”

“I’m not skinny. And you’re no help. You eat like a Marine.”

“You’re perfect. I like that you eat like a real person. Don’t do that skinny bitch bullshit. I’ve had more than my share of those malnutritioned flat-ass slu-“

I poked his ribs. “Quit. No bad mouthing your conquests.”

“All I’m saying is if more healthy women had hit on me maybe I wouldn’t have gone through so many.”

“You didn’t go through all that many Gunner. I don’t think four in four years is a lot.” I reasoned while arguing with him.

“Six, I lied. Only three were regulars.”

  “Whatever. You’re missing my point.”

  “What is your point?”

  I la
ughed. “I forget. Anyway, you’re making me fat. I have to start going to the gym again now that these renovations are almost done.”

“You can go with me to mine. You sure you want to live in the haunted house? I don’t know about all this shit.”

“It’s not haunted. We’ll paint it. Rearrange shit, I don’t know. Let’s just take it one day at a time. Right now I’m going to be too tired by the time I get there to do much more than sleep.”

“It’s a nice house.” He seemed distant all of a sudden. “First one I built.”

“You built it??” I didn’t know this!

“Yeah. Sunk every dime I inherited from my grandfather into it.”

“You really don’t tell me shit do you?”

“Nope.” He poked my ribs this time. “Be patient. I’m not used to sharing.”

“I know.” I pulled his belt open.

“What are you doing?” He lifted his hips giving me permission to continue.

“You need a play by play?”

  “Is that an option?”

“Not with my mouth full.” I tugged his jeans down and pulled his now firm cock up in my hand.

“I’m beginning to think you have an oral fetish.” His hand slid down to massage my back while I got comfortable to lick, suckle, and massage his beautiful cock. He’s right. I have an oral fetish, but only for him. I want his lips on mine every second of every day. If I can’t have his kisses I want something, anything. Making him come while tasting him is something I will never tire of.

  ***

I grabbed her perfect ass and let myself go in her sweet warm mouth. “Shit.” She gets to me too easily. I’m starting to understand my eldest brother Slider a lot better now.

Salina gets away with murder, sometimes literally. For years I’ve seen the looks pass between them but never really understood the connection, the inside joke. Now I get it. I have my own version of Salina, only her name is Violet.

Violet sat up smiling like the vixen she is and licked her fingertips like she’d just had fried chicken.

I stole a quick kiss off her lips before putting myself away. “I didn’t think women liked doing that.”
