Were the secondary characters essential to the plot? Were the villains realistic?

Was the setting clear and appealing? Could you “see” where the story took place?

Alessandro confused vengeance with justice. Do you ever seek vengeance and call it justice? Can we ever have justice? Is there anything constructive about vengeance? Who can deliver true justice?

Did Colleen’s sacrifice at the end seem reasonable? Would you have made the same choice? Have you ever had to make a choice to put someone else’s needs above your own? How did that make you feel?

Alessandro’s late wife had a drug problem, and he tried unsuccessfully to break her addiction. Have you struggled or do you know someone who struggles with addictions? What steps can be taken to help someone become free from addiction? Do you believe a person must want to be free of their addiction before they can be set free?

Did the end pique your interest to read the next book in the series? If so, why? Or why not?

Did the author’s use of language/writing style make this an enjoyable read? Would you read more from this author?

What will be your most vivid memories of this book? What lessons about life, love and faith did you learn from this story?
