Solid Stone: Choices

My nipples become more pronounced, my breathing more obvious. He pinches one of them, and I groan as the pinch resonates in the aftermath. He grins, “We’ve only just begun.“

A sharp stinging pain flares across my right bum cheek followed by a second one on the left. His wrist snaps back and upward effortlessly. I cry out and breathe, as the soft silk holds me so securely that I can’t move an inch.

He glides his finger along my side, I can’t even squirm. I’ve missed his control over my body. Adam slides the black leather riding crop along my legs and then in between my thighs. He glides it back and forth, creating an enticing friction, a universal pleasure pull that is so strong. I groan, finally feeling comfortable on the platform he’s created for me. He grins as I watch the black leather move up along my belly, around my navel, up to my breasts. He circles them slowly, deliberately. My breathing quickens as I think he’s going for them next, and I flinch. “I don’t want any marks on those,” he says, as if reading my mind. He caresses my breasts with leather, warmed by my essence.

“Are you ready for more?” I nod, gritting my teeth, as the next one lands near my lower back, right at the top of my butt cheek. His upward motion seems effortless, but the impact is harrowing, very effective.

“Ahhh,” I cry out. Five more well placed ones follow, and then there’s nothing. My backside aches, as my body aches for him.

His lips caress mine as he adjusts his stance on the bed. Pushing me sideways, my body sways like a human swing, hitting against muscular abs and a hard cock. “Please, I need more,” I beg.

“I want you too, watching you like this is driving me crazy.” He strokes my hair, my breasts, and my belly, until he reaches my essence. He slides a finger in me; the vibrations rise with each movement. My body tenses with pleasure until he stops to lower my body slightly, an ingenious pulley system. He stands near my feet and loosens the silk around my lower half so he can spread my legs using his forearms to support them.

Half suspended, he walks into me, entering my core with such a force. I cry out like a wild animal waiting to be freed and to feel pleasure. He offers me both as he begins to fuck me. My body floats in the air like an acrobat; a circus act! Each thrust from his powerful hips sways me back and forth. Our acrobatic dance is fascinating. I sway, I moan, I sway, I moan. The Ring Master controls my body as it swings back and forth at his will. “Are you enjoying yourself?” He’s breathless when he speaks.

“Yessssss.” I’m breathless too. He fucks me faster and harder now.

  “Who do you belong to?”

“I belong to you, only to you.”

  “Yes, that’s right, mine forever.”

“Yes, yes, yesssss…” I float into oblivion moving freely without boundaries.

“Ahhh,” he groans. He moves vigorously and between thrusts changes the angle and depth of his cock. I know it won’t be long before I explode.

  “I’m so close, please Master.”

“Not yet,” he says through gritted teeth while trying to hold back himself. His hips hit my inner thighs more slow and steady. We’re an excellent acrobatic team. Our bodies look beautiful entwined together when I look in the mirror. I breathe through the agony of holding back. He changes his pace and moves swiftly again, this time taking me to the edge, closer and closer to ecstasy. He cries out, “Now!” I can feel his cock expand then pulsate as we both cry out together in unison, just like our bodies. The spasms of delight envelope every fiber of my body until there’s nothing left. The silk holds me in place steadfast and sturdy, even when I go limp in its embrace.

We’re still and silent. He looks up at the beam and the red silk wrapped around it. When he looks at me, he pulls out slowly, his cock glistens with our essence. Holding my gaze, he gently lowers my legs to the bed, allowing me to rest on my knees. The silk loosens, my body drops to the bed, my anchor no longer supporting me. He kisses me roughly and whispers in my ear, “You were amazing. Thank you.” I roll over, and his arms are there to catch me.

  §

He sits beside me on the sofa. “I hope you enjoyed that?”

  “Oh, I did, very much.”

“Good, it’s all about exploring our boundaries, our capabilities, maybe even our tolerance. You never asked me to stop.”

“No, I didn’t want you to.”

“Thanks for trusting me, giving me permission.” I don’t blink, holding his look, emotions bubble inside me. Yes, what we did was carnal, dark, delicious, yet how he speaks to me is caring, delicate, and gentle.

“It’s getting late, you should go.” We’re friends who have sex that’s it, I tell myself.

He seems surprised, maybe disappointed, but gets up. I follow him downstairs to the door. “Are we okay?” he asks.

  “We are. Good night.”

He kisses me lightly on the lips. I love how they feel and almost change my mind, but I don’t, stepping back instead. “Good night.” And with that, I close the door behind him.

  Chapter 17

  “Adam”

Hearing the door shut behind me bothers me as much as the significance of it closing. When did I become so fucking sentimental? I lean against the wall; my body won’t move. Resting a hand against my head, I stand there thinking, and then it comes to me.

  §

A half hour later and I’m back. Using my key, I let myself into the main entrance of the building. Standing outside her door, I hear music playing, making me wonder if she’s glad I left? I knock.

She’s surprised to see me and before she says anything I lift up the pizza box in one hand and a bottle of her favorite red in the other. “I brought pizza and wine, I thought you’d be hungry after what,” I pause, “what we were doing,” trying to sound polite about it.

She steps back as her way of saying I can come in and smiles. It’s a nice smile. “Funny, I was thinking about ordering a pizza myself. You must have a sixth sense. Is it pepperoni and mushroom?”

“Yes, of course.” I’m smiling now, I remember what she likes. I remember a lot of things.

She reaches up, bringing down two plates, a cork screw, and two wine glasses. “Let’s go upstairs, I’m just listening to music up there, okay?” She leads the way and I follow.

“Have a seat,” she says, as she plops down beside me, handing me a plate. I open the wine and pour it into two glasses. She hands me a plate with two slices of pizza, as I hand her the wine glass.

She takes a sip. “This is delicious.” I watch her put the glass down, lean back on the sofa and bite into the pizza. “Oh, this is so good too. I’m hungry, thanks.”

“No problem. I needed an excuse to come back anyway.” I laugh, but I mean it.

“Really? You brought me pizza and mouth-watering wine just to come back and see me?”

  “Yes, I guess I did.”

“You flatter me.” She grins. “I’m glad you came back.” Her voice is soft.

I say, “We should be more honest with each other.” I told her I’d always tell her the truth, so I don’t hold back now. “I didn’t want to leave either.”

Her lips form a thin line as she looks up at the ceiling. Reaching for her glass she takes another sip of wine. “And if I were honest, I’d tell you I’m afraid of getting too close and getting hurt, or worse, hurting you. I just don’t want to screw up again.” She’s sincere.

I say openly, “When it comes to you, I’m more emotional than rational. I’m smart enough to know that means I still care about you, a lot.” Her eyes widen and then become soft pools of beautiful. Is she going to cry? Nope, she catches herself, but she was close, I can tell. I take her plate and put it on the table. I want those lips. Pulling her into me for a kiss stirs up a mess of emotions, but when my tongue finds hers, desire takes over. I want her again. I want to make love to her, make her body tingle from top to bottom and deep inside. I say into her mouth,
“I want you.” She gets up and takes my hand, leading me this time to her bedroom.

No words, I know what I need to do. “Put your arms up, babe.” She lifts up her arms and I slowly slide her T-shirt up exposing her perfect breasts; they match the rest of her.

While kissing her, I throw her shirt on the dresser, unsnapping her bra next. On my knees, I help her out of a pair of old yoga pants and her scent beckons me, entices me to pull her lace panty-clad front to my mouth to kiss it. The detail of the lace rubs against my lips and her scent, well, it drives me crazy. I must have her, I need to taste her. She moans. My tongue slides under her panties, giving me what I’m craving. Grabbing my head, she presses herself against me. When I look up her eyes are closed. I roll my tongue around her clit, under it, pressing it, kissing it, sucking it.

She groans—it’s deep and carnal, and comes from her throat. “Oh Adam.” Hearing her say my name makes my cock want to burst out of my jeans. I suck and lick and suck and lick. This won’t take long. I want her to let go, need her to let it all go. Her body tenses, her cheeks clench, and then she pulls my head in roughly, pressing herself firmly into my face. She heightens her pleasure until she growls, then moans, holding my head securely in place, until she’s released all that she has to release. She loosens her grip breathing loudly.

I need to be close to her center, her core. Lifting her into my arms, I cradle her for a moment. I kiss her, sharing her taste. In this moment, we need to share everything. She kisses me back with vigorous passion, hunger, giving me all of her. It’s intense, the good kind. She moans against my lips, “Adam, please, I can’t wait any longer, please.”

Sitting in the center of the bed she watches me undress. I’m watching her too. From the foot of the bed, I crawl up to her open arms as she pulls me down on top of her, ready for me. I slide in slowly, remaining still, enjoying our union. I kiss her neck, her ears, and her cheeks. She moans as her stomach presses against mine. When I move my hips she wraps her legs around me, pulling me in tighter and closer.

With one hand holding hers above her head, my other hand slides under her perfect ass and lifts her up slightly. She loves the angle changes, I know that. I move a little faster and feel her heart beating against mine. I’m close, so close, bordering euphoria. Moving swiftly, lifting and then lowering her as I do, she moans in my ear. Her breath is warm. And then I boil over and bury my face in her neck, giving her all of me until my body has nothing left to give.

I’m relieved in so many ways as I roll over and pull her into me. Her head rests on my shoulder, it feels natural, an extension of me. I say in my head, “I love you Violet, if only…” Looking down at her beautiful face, I realize she’s fallen asleep.

  Chapter 18

  “Violet”

I hear footsteps in the hall. Just as I’m about to jump out of bed he kicks open the door and smiles. I fall back into the pillows. Of course it’s him, he made love to me last night and I fell asleep in his arms. It was so easy falling asleep in his arms, too easy.

Sitting at the side of the bed, he places a tray on my lap with French toast, bacon, and coffee. “You made me breakfast?” I have to smile at him.

“You’re favorite, French toast.” He lifts a piece of bacon to my lips. I bite into it—perfect and crispy just how I like it.

“It’s perfect.” I chew, saying, “So you stayed over?”

“We both fell asleep, I hope that’s okay. At least you got breakfast out of the deal.” He laughs.

“Yeah, and I haven’t had a breakfast like this in a long time. It’s delicious! Have you eaten?” “I had a few pieces of bacon on the way.”

His eyes look warm and it’s been so long since we’ve been like this together. Still smiling, I say, “I was going to do some work and take a walk later, but I can go for a walk first. Do you want to come with me?”

“Perhaps another time, I have to go into the office today and should probably leave soon. I just didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye. I had a great time last night.”

My heart sinks, of course he has to go, why would I expect more now? We’re just friends so there’s no need to adjust his work plans, not anymore. “No problem.” I’m trying not to sound disappointed.

“Okay if I jump in the shower?”

“Of course, and there should be spare towels in there.”

He looks back at me. “Yes, I remember.”

When the door closes I throw myself back in my pillows and tightly squeeze my eyes closed, trying to remember every detail from last night. I lay like this until I hear the shower stop, and then I get up and get dressed.

Ten minutes later we’re saying goodbye at the door. He kisses my cheek before he goes, just like Ann does.

  Chapter 19

  “Violet”

Paul’s asked me into his office. Closing the door, he pulls out a chair for me at his conference table and seems tired. “Is everything okay?” I ask.

“Yes I think so, but I do have something to share with you.”

“Okay,” an uneasy feeling sweeps through me.

“I’m going to be making a company-wide announcement, but I wanted to tell you in advance. It’s confidential until Friday, okay?”

  “Yes of course.”

He takes a deep breath as our eyes meet. “We’re merging, the firm’s merging with another law firm.”

I had no idea. “Are we the lead?”

“Not exactly,” he lowers his eyes taking another breath. “To be honest, it’s to save the firm and all the jobs that come with it. It was my only option and we’re lucky to be merging with one of the best.” My stomach turns because I know what he’s going to say next, but that doesn’t help, because actually hearing him say it makes my stomach tank. “It’s with Laurier & Stone.” He lets out his breath, like he’d been holding it, until he got the last three words out, Laurier & Stone.

He has no idea what happened this past weekend, my own merger with Adam Stone. I lean back in the chair needing extra support. “I see, so when is the sign off?”

“It’s already done. We signed off the last time I was in town. We’re now employees of Laurier & Stone. Adam thought it best to let the senior team know first. I’m doing that right after this, and then a company-wide announcement on Friday. He’ll be here as the Senior Partner. I know this can’t be easy for you.”

Even though it feels like the rug’s been pulled out from under me, I say what I believe to be true, “You’ve made the right decision, saving the firm, jobs, and careers, all of it. Laurier & Stone is solid. Its reputation is strong and sturdy. Are we keeping these offices?” My head is full of questions.

“No, we’ll be moving into their offices. I really am sorry, I know you’ve got history, but I also hope our partnership means something, and that you’ll stay with me. You’re the best paralegal I’ve ever had. I’ve gotten you a raise. Adam didn’t blink an eye about it either, he seemed happy to oblige.”

I roll my eyes for my own benefit, imagining Adam discussing my raise. I’m smart enough to know I need a job. “Okay, Paul. I’m willing to give it a try, but the history between Adam and me is something I also have to consider.”

“I know, and I’ll accept trying over no. Thanks Violet, and remember this stays between us until it’s formally announced.”

“Of course.” He opens the door for me.

Sitting at my desk, I bang away on my keyboard getting my work done, ensuring I generate billings for my new boss, Adam Stone.

  Chapter 20

  “Adam”

Alice comes into my office closing the door, I tell her about the merger and the formal announcement on Friday. She understands to keep it confidential and seems quite happy, “We keep growing, it’s great.”

I smile back and say, “They’re a good firm with good lawyers.” She nods, still smiling and leaves my office closing the d
oor.

My mind’s now on Violet. Every time my phone rings I look to see if it’s her. I know Paul’s telling her today. I’m traveling this afternoon, so I won’t see her until Friday when I make the announcement with Paul. I wonder how she’ll feel. I hope she understands it was Paul’s news to share and not mine.

  §

At one, as I’m about to leave for the plane, my phone beeps. It’s a text from Violet.

  We need to talk.

In the car while Frank drives, I call her. “Hi, it’s me.”

“We need to talk,” she whispers in the phone, she must be at her desk.

“Do I need to be worried?” My gut wrenches, we’ve just started being comfortable as friends, and this past weekend left me a lot to think about.

“In person, when can we speak in person?” She sounds harried.

“I can come by your office now.”

“Okay, I’ll be outside. We need to speak in private.”

“We can go to your place if you’d like?”

  “Yes, fine, how long?”

“I’m in the car right now with Frank. We’ll be there in ten minutes, okay?”

“Yes, I’ll be waiting outside.” The line goes dead, she’s hung up on me. That’s not a good sign. I call Alice and tell her to delay my flight by three hours. I hope that will be enough time for Violet.

When the car pulls up, she stops pacing and gets in. “Hi,” she says to me and then greets Frank the same way. It’s a quiet drive to the loft. She looks out the window the entire time.
