  “Why are you helping?”

“Because I like you,” Jack said.

  “Excuse me?”

“Not like that. I like the idea of you working in the office. You show great promise, more than anyone else I have ever had to vet. I am also going to recommend you, as I mentioned before and hope that you get picked for the job,” Jack said.

Florence thought about that and smiled to herself. She was getting help from a total stronger, someone who did not have a reason to help her. They had just met and he was ready to teach her how to drive.

“I have a question. Why did you take so long to learn how to drive?” Jack asked.

“I am not really sure. It was not in me. I never really liked it. Plus I have four elder brothers. Every time I needed to go somewhere, one of them would simply drive me there.”

“You were the princess in the family,” Jack said, happy that he was getting to learn a little more about the woman with each passing second.

“Yes, I was loved. I still am. But we are not talking to each other.”

  “Why?”

”I mean they are not talking to me and I am not talking to them,” Florence said.

“Why is that?” Jack asked, he understood family feuds and knew that they were one of the ugliest fights in the world.

“They were too protective of me. Especially after my father died and I wanted to be a lot more free than they wanted me to. So I ran away from home and started my life out here,” she said.

“You did not want to be loved too much?”

“It was more like paranoia from them. They thought something bad would happen to me. Even now I can tell that they still look out for me even though they never say a word,” she said.

“You are a lucky girl, I see,” Jack said.

“How about you? Do you have a brothers who smoother you with love?” she asked. Jack turned round and prompted her to follow him, they started walking away from her house and into a park.

“I am an elder brother, so I don’t get the luxury of having my freedom infringed,” Jack sad and the two laughed.

  “You still talking to them?”

“Not really. Well we are in good terms, just a lot busier than we would love to be. Life is hard out here and we only get together at the end of the year. I do, however, call them every now and then to check up on them. I have a younger sister, our youngest sister who I check up on every other week,” Jack said.

  “You are lucky.”

“I would not call it luck. I am sure my younger sister would feel the same way you feel about your brothers,” Jack said.

“You are afraid that something bad will happen to here?”

“No, not really. It is not paranoia. It is like a code written in us, all good brothers have it. Check on your younger sister. If I was to punch you right now, I am sure all your brothers would be at my office tomorrow baying for my blood. They are overprotective because that is their job,” Jack said.

“Well, I will make a point of letting them know that they are appreciated. It would be sad not to appreciate them, I see,” Florence said.

I can teach you how to drive today, if you want,” Jack said.it sounded more of a question than an answer.

“But we have a whole week.”

“Driving takes a lot of time to master. You need to gain confidence on the road. We won’t give you a car until you have been employed for three months. So if you start today, you are going to have a number of months to gain road confidence,” Jack said.

“I still don’t get why you are helping me.”

“Is it not refreshing to have someone who is willing to help you?” Jack asked. He stopped and looked at her. Florence had forgotten that notion. Not a lot of people were ready to help her. It was almost sad that she was so alone. Now that Jack was helping, she could feel something n coming to life, a refreshing feeling that she wanted to embrace with everything she had.

“How did you know I am not qualified to drive?” Florence asked.

“I told you, I did a background check on you. The fact that you have only worked at one other place since you were employed made it easier. Our company also has access to a number of databases in the government and it was easy to run a search,” Jack said.

“Why would I be in a database?”

“You weren’t, which means you have never even been issued with a driver’s license,” the man said.

“Then teach me how to drive,” Florence said as they approached the man’s car.

Jack was happy about the developments of the day a few hours ago, he had met the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and here he was teaching her how to drive. He had made the decision to follow her on a whim, and it was paying off. He was getting to learn a thing or two about her and he could tell that’s he enjoyed his company.

He watched her situate herself on the driver’s seat before he stated spelling out instructions. The woman followed promptly before she brought the car to life.

“This is an expensive car,” Florence said.

“It comes with the territory. If you are as aggressive as I think you are, you will be driving such a car in a few years, maybe months,” Jack said.

“That makes me feel better,” Florence said. Jack went ahead to teach the woman how to drive. It was not easy, especially because she thought it was hard. Florence had never thought about driving, and when she did, she always had someone to drive her. Her previous job did not require her to drive and even when she needed to go somewhere, her friends were always available.

“You need to relax. The drivers around you don’t know that you don’t know how to drive so they will not judge you. And even if they do, they will not linger long enough to cause any harm. They are in moving cars,” Jack said.

“I could get used to this,” the woman said.

“Lean back, breathe out, relax your body. You are driving not flying, and even when flying, a relaxed posture is always recommended,” Jack said.

Florence let out a burst of breath and felt her body relax. It was true, the man had realized that she had not been relaxed. How could she relax with everyone driving past her? Also, Florence was a perfectionist and she needed to drive perfectly, at least to please the man who had agreed to help her without even being asked.

“Easy on the gas, the car is supposed to be allowed to pick up speed. Do not force it,” Jack said softly.

He liked this, he had never before instructed anyone on how to drive a car. He had taught himself as a young boy from watching his father drive. Since he had been in the country side with plenty of fields to drive in, the rest had come easy for him. Now here he was, try teaching someone how to drive, it was a nice feeling. It was like teaching a toddler how to walk. Every now and then Jack would reach for the steering wheel and steer the car back to the road.

“I think we should celebrate this momentous occasion,” Jack said.

“What momentous occasion? The fact that I have driven a car for the first time or the fact that I have not killed us on the first try?” Florence said and they bot laughed.

“Momentous occasions, then,” he said and laughed some more.

“I would invite you to my house, but I have sold all my furniture,” she said.

“I am sorry to hear that. What would you do if you still had furniture?” Jack asked.

“Invite you in, maybe cook for you or order some take away,” she said.

“I can cook for you at my house. I don’t live that far and I can always drive you back to your house,” the man said. “Plus I think you need some time out of your house,” he added.

  “You can cook?”

  “Better than most people.”

“Now I am intrigued, I should see you cook,” Florence said. She had learned to not only be relaxed while driving, but also this man who was trying everything in his power to make her feel comfortable.

“I think I should drive to my house. I know the way, plus we will have to hit the freeway. We will also g
et there faster if I drive,” he said.

“One day I am going to drive you on the freeway,” she said.

“The day you get your license, I want you to drive me on the freeway. As a matter of fact, we are going to take a road trip then. If that is okay with you,” the man said.

Florence looked at him and smiled. She thought about a road trip with this man and felt a shudder pass down her spine. It was nothing scary, she was simply taken by his offer. She wondered whether she was being too easy with him.

“I think we should take this slowly. I don’t want to take advantage of your generosity,” she said.

“I am not being generous. I am asking for a road trip. We both benefit from a road trip the same way,” Jack said.

“I find it hard to say no to you. I don’t know why, and it is not because of the things you are doing for me. God knows I am one proud woman. I just don’t know why,” the woman said.

“Some things don’t need a why,” Jack said. He was headed towards his drive way. They had not eve n realized how fast he had driven towards his house.

“I think it is because I have not had someone treat me kindly for so long,” the woman said and smiled.

“We are home. I am glad I could treat you kindly,” Jack said getting out of his car,

“You have a beautiful house, and it is huge. Ten times bigger than mine,” she said walking towards it. Jack opened the door and allowed her to walk in.

“Thank you. It belonged to a banker and when he wanted to get rid of it, I fell in love with it,” he said leading her through the living room and into the kitchen.

They talked as they cooked, Jack relishing at the thought of laughter in his usually empty house.

“You know, I don’t usually have very many visitors, and when they come they don’t laugh like you do,” Jack said.

“Sounds like you want me to stop laughing,” Florence said.

“No, I want you to visit often,” Jack said. He knew she was playing with him and he loved it. This woman was getting to him in ways that no other woman had ever gotten to him.

Florence, on the other hand, looked around the kitchen it was still too early to eat anyway and she needed to do something a lot more fun than cooking early. She looked at the man and smiled. Jack smiled back and it was at that moment that she realized what would come after the food. Florence decided to speed up the process. She walked to where the man was, reached past him and tuned off the cooker.

“I think we should celebrate with something else, first,” she said, looking at his lips.

He took her hand and led her to the living groom were they both sat down on the couch and looked at each other. Jack had not seen them moving this fast but it was an unacceptable outcome after all.

“I think we should get more comfortable,” the woman said licking her lips. She wanted to kiss him so badly.

“I am starting to think like you do,” Jack said getting to his feet. He pulled Florence to her feet and stood towering over her, his eyes never leaving hers. This had better not be a dream because he would be so disappointed if he woke up. Yet it was no dream. Florence smiled at him and inched closer so their lips could meet.

They kissed for the first time, their lips merging as if they had been born for each other. Both got lost in the kiss that had been long overdue. The hidden emotions, emotions that had been in hiding for too long, came stumbling out as they both kissed.

His hands started to move and he started attacking her clothes. Florence giggled as her hands did the same to him. It was hard to concentrate on stripping each other when they could not stop kissing each other. Soon both were completely in the nude, their bodies heaving from the passion that threatened to tear through them and merge into one unstoppable being.

Jack stepped closer to the woman and held her face in his hands. He looked into her eyes and smiled. There was no fear any more, there was no uncertainty. Their rocky relationship had built something both were happy about, something that would last until both decided it was over. This, no one saw happening. They were a perfect mix.

“I want to make love to you,” Jack said after a while.

“I thought you would never ask,” Florence said as she sat down on her couch. The man went on his knees and leaned forward, kissing her again as his manhood found the apex of her legs and went right through into her heat. The woman moaned from the penetration as she felt him inside her, moving gently, before his movements became more earnest.

“Harder!” Florence scrammed as Jack increased his pace. He took her to the edge and held her there, as their bodies merged in what would be the best relationship ever. Florence moaned and screamed until she could no longer do either and her body lay limp as Jack brought her through multiple orgasms.

He could feel his seed coming forth, like boiling lava, and his body started to tense. His eyes watered as the woman milked him from her own spasms. They suddenly started approaching the inevitable edge fast. Both vice presidents moaned as their bodies reacted to the impending climax. They allowed their best to come forth and Jack moved until he could not hold it any more. He finally shot his seed deep into her as she moaned one last time and toppled over the edge of a blissful climax.

  The End

  Winning Her Back

The only mistake Simon ever made in his love life was not telling his girlfriend his true intentions from the very start. It was crazy how a simple lie could mess things up so much. A simple lie had created such a large web of lies that there was no clear way to mend things other than to come clean. Coming clean was the best way yet it would only work toward retain both their dignities. Simon did not want that alone, he wanted to retain his and his girlfriend’s dignity as well as retain the girl.

Right now, Simon was seated under a bridge, his head was throbbing already and he felt as if he was on the verge of a panic attack. He kept looking at his phone; waiting for it to ring, yet no one dared call him. No one would, that he knew for a fact. It was he, after all, who had asked not to be contacted until he made contact.

Not that he did not want to talk to the people he loved. Simon simply wanted to focus all his attention to one thing and one thing only. The one call that was not coming. Twelve text messages later, he expected at least a text that would tell him that his reception was not interested in him. But there was nothing forthcoming, and that was why he did not feel like talking to anyone else.

It was love, all right. Simon was finally admitting to himself that he was in love, and it was a little too late to admit that to him because he had already lost the one woman who would have reciprocated that love. He picked the phone and dialed Sofia’s number, yet again. She, in a sweet voice, asked him to leave a message and he did.

“Sofia, I am beginning to lose count of the number of times I am going to leave a message. Please get back to me before I go crazy, I have some things I need to explain,” he said. His eyes were closed in pain because he knew Sofia was on the other side of the phone. He knew that she was deliberately refusing to pick his calls. Not that he was surprised, she had warned him. She had told him that she would never pick any of his calls.

There were few things that got Simon frustrated. Before Sofia, Simon was a Casanova. He was the man who every other man looked up to. Women from all over knew him. He was the one person who get any woman he wanted. That was a past life, a life he wanted to forget now that he was seated there awaiting for the one call that would bring him back to life. Because without hearing from her, Simon knew he would not last long. His head felt like it would blow to pieces.

Many times, Simon had been on the other side. He had been the one who had refused to pick calls.

To him, this was karma biting back. He had broken a lot of hearts; sometimes he had broken homes as well. But now that the same fate was upon him, he could not help but wonder how the rest of the world survived. He looked at his phone for the millionth time and shook his time. This was nonsense. One woman was not enough to stop him from living, he t
old himself as he got to his feet. He would go on with life whether she was there or not. Yet the moment he got to his feet, the searing pain that had clouded his heart seemed to hit him, this time so hard that it almost made him blind.

There was no fighting it. He was done without Sofia. It was time that he went over and looked for her. If it meant crawling along the pavements so that she could forgive him, then that was what he was going to do.

Finding Sofia was not as hard as he had anticipated. In fact, Simon felt a tad bit stupid because he had not looked for her at her house. Naturally, Simon had decided that she had not gone to her house, that she was hiding somewhere, drowning her sorrows. That was something else; the woman did not even appear hurt. She simply looked at him and stepped aside so he could enter.

“I have been calling you all day,” he said as soon as he was inside her house.

“That should have told you something.”

  “It got me worried.”

“It should have told you that I was not interested in talking to you. I am also still not interested in talking to you,” Sofia said. She had a glass of wine on her table and a bottle half drunk. Simon suspected that she was a little drunk but did not say a word about it.

“There is a perfect explanation for all the things I have put you through. To start with…”

“Don’t start with anything, Simon. Just leave me alone. I want to be left alone,” the woman said. It was then that Simon noticed the hurt. It was in her voice. Her naturally smooth voice was no longer as smooth as it used to be. It dawned on him that she had been crying as well. This only made Simon feel worse than he already was.

“Come on, Sofia. You let me in for a reason.”

“I let you in because I knew you would keep looking for me and drawing attention toward me,” Sofia said.

“You could have just opened the door and told me to go away,” Simon said.

“So, first you lie to me and now you come here to question my actions. What kind of stupid is that?” Sofia asked.

“Sofia come on, let’s be nice to each other. All I am trying to do is explain my situation. There is no need for using insults, we are grownups and we need to talk about this,” the man said.
