With the lightest of footsteps she inched over to them, wanting to be closer, not wanting to interrupt their delicious flow. But Jack reached his hand out to her without skipping a beat. She took it and he pulled her to them, locking her tight against the wall with his palm pressed into her shoulder.

Spencer leaned his head flat, facing her, his parted lips so close. His short, choppy breaths beat against her face. He was close to coming; she could tell. Placing a hand on his face, she guided her mouth to his, licking at his frantic tongue, encouraging him to let go. Jack dropped his mouth to meet theirs, adding to the sloppy frenzy that was their desperate kiss. Teeth clashed and tongues tangled. Rory became uncertain of whose tongue was whose, and her fingers sank deep into her pussy, driven by that delicious confusion.

“I’m coming inside you,” Jack said suddenly and Spencer nodded his approval. His mouth opened wide in a silent scream that disintegrated into a gravelly sigh.

Rory dropped to her knees and took Spencer’s surging cock as far as she could, jerking the base of his shaft and swallowing the cum that jettisoned down her throat.

Jack kneeled down and laid a kiss on her lips and then another on the place where Spencer’s ass met his leg.

He shivered and smiled down at them.

Jack spoke. “I hope this lasts forever.”

“Me too,” Rory answered, toying with the back of his neck.

Spencer joined Rory and Jack on the soft wool Berber carpet. “Forever, as in we’ll never be apart? As in making it official?”

Rory felt her stomach do a flip-flop. “Yeah, Spence.”

“Baby, I’ve meant to ask you this so many times, but it just didn’t seem right until I could be completely honest with you.” He looked at Jack. “Until I could be completely honest with myself too.”

Jack smiled back at him and nodded slowly. They seemed to have some unspoken words between them in that moment. Rory’s breath caught in her chest.

Spencer took her face between both hands. The rough pads rested warm and gentle against her skin. “I love you with all my heart,” he said to her. “For so long, that love was the only thing I was certain about in my life.”

“You know I love you too, Spencer,” Rory said, the sting of a tear forming in the corner of her eye.

“Baby, your love is so special you gave me the one thing no one should ever ask for in a relationship.”

She knew what he meant. “Jack is a part of us now,” she said.

Spencer let one hand fall over Jack’s arm. “You are, you know?” he said. Then he swallowed and continued. “That’s why asking you to marry me means asking you to accept Jack as part of that marriage.”

Rory threw her arms around both of them. “How could I have it any other way? Yes!” She pressed her lips to Spencer’s with a beaming smile on her face. “Yes!” She kissed Jack next, who seemed just as bowled over as she was by Spencer’s proposal. “Yes! Yes! Yes!”

“I think she said yes,” Jack said through a chuckle, but his face spoke of a sentiment that far exceeded the cheeky comment.

Spencer exhaled. “I didn’t plan to propose tonight, but I just couldn’t wait another day. I’ve waited too long as it is. I’m sorry, babe, but your ring is back at home.”

“You bought me a ring already?”

“Jack went with me last week.”

Jack shrugged. “I told you I’m good with secrets.”

She hooked her arms around his neck. “As long as this is the last one.”

Jack kissed her, a happy little peck. “Promise.”

Rory traced her finger lightly over Jack’s bottom lip and basked in the glow of his adoring eyes. She nuzzled her head against Spencer’s shoulder and inhaled the smell of their lovemaking, still present in the air.

“We promise you, Jack, that you’ll never be alone again.”

  Epilogue

“Brice?” Rory asked after she put the phone to her ear. Spencer cuddled her closer on the couch and she mouthed excitedly, “It’s him!” She pressed a button. “I’m putting you on speaker.”

“Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving!” Brice’s rich baritone voice filled the room.

“To you too, Brice,” Spencer chimed in.

“Is Devin there with you?” Rory asked.

“He’s fast asleep in the chair next to me. Tuckered out from cooking all day long. Our guests left about an hour ago.”

“We had Thanksgiving here. I cooked, I’ll have you know.”

“I miss your delicious concoctions, little sis.” Brice’s voice turned wistful. “I can’t wait to see you.”

“Me too. And I can’t wait to meet Devin. He sounds great.”

Brice sighed. “How did we fall out of touch, Ror? We’ve spoken four times and I feel like the years have just evaporated.”

Rory chewed her lip. “I let Mom and Dad get in the way.”

“No, I did. It’s not your fault, Rory. I’m so sorry.” He paused. “Did they come over today?”

Rory grinned. “They did, and Spencer and I announced our engagement.”

“Oh yeah? What did they say about Jack?”

Just then, Jack returned from the bathroom with a brand-new pot of red nail lacquer. “Did I hear my name?”

“It’s Brice. He wanted to know what my parents said when we told them about you.”

“Oh, hey Brice,” he said, settling on the other end of the couch. He took hold of Spencer’s foot first. “So, your mom and dad took the news as well as could be expected.”

Brice huffed. “They got up and left, didn’t they?”

Spencer laughed. “They even stayed for dessert. You would have been proud of them.”

“First Mom is bragging about your working at a GBLT center, which by the way I think is just awesome, and yesterday she called to ask if they could come to the wedding. I almost fell off my chair,” Brice mused.

Rory spoke then. “Time heals, Brice. Love really can make the hardest pill easier to swallow.” Everyone was silent for a minute. “Hey, we’ll be there a week early. I want to help with whatever you need.”

“Thanks, sis, that’s great of you.”

Rory stared at her beautiful three-diamond, bezel-set platinum ring as it winked in the light. “Maybe we’ll get some tips from your wedding planner.”

  “You’ve set a date?”

  “Spring. We’re shopping venues.”

“Devin and I will be there, whatever you decide.”

“All done with Spencer. You’re next,” Jack said, tickling her foot.

She giggled. “And then I’ll do you.”

Brice cleared his throat. “Attention Rory, big brother on the line. TMI.”

She smiled and blew two kisses into the phone. “Tell Devin I wished him a happy turkey day.”

“Will do. See you soon,” Brice said.

“You bet,” she replied. “We can’t wait!”

She was overjoyed for him, and overjoyed for herself. What had started out as a curiosity had bloomed into fulfillment. Jack concentrated on neatly applying the nail polish to her big toe, his delicious lips pressed together with focus. She could just eat him alive. Spencer picked up the remote and turned the volume back up on the sitcom they both found hilarious.

This was their normal, and she wouldn’t change a single thing.

  Acknowledgments

With any worthwhile undertaking the first thing to do is find the right people to help you along the way. Just as important is the need to give thanks for their invaluable contributions. In that regard, I want to shout from the rooftops how much I appreciate each of my betas for knowing how to break it down like no one else, whose blunt and most appreciated honesty is the kind of thing every writer craves and for pushing for all the juicy details at every turn.

A special declaration of gratitude goes to my editor, Julian M. Smith, whose comb was most admirably fine in his careful and rather caring handling of my story and characters. I am beyond grateful for his words of praise and
the polite but firm kicks in the ass when I needed them.

As for my loving husband: if not for his patience, understanding, and willingness to make dinner, I would have never been able to immerse myself in this story. Thank you once again for giving me the space needed to find my own bit of magic.
