  Chapter Twenty-Two

  1

Terry was out doing some shopping. Shopping had made her think of her grandma. She had always shopped with her grandma.

Shopping was totally different for her. There was no more just walking through the store anymore unnoticed. All her clothes were tight. Everyone seemed be looking at her big belly. She had to admit that she liked the attention.

She was always worried that someone would ask who the father was. What was she to tell people? Robert didn’t even know that she was pregnant with his child. She would do whatever she could to avoid the question for as long as she could.

She had noticed two women that she had never seen before. They didn’t dress like they were from Anderson. They were looking at her. After passing them a couple of time, they had come up to her.

“How far along are you?” one of them asked.

They had gone on to talk about her pregnancy. Terry was thrilled to have someone to talk about with. They didn’t seem concerned about asking who the father was. They didn’t tell her that they were Bella’s girls.

They gave Terry their phone numbers. They told her to call if she ever needed anything or just needed to talk. Terry was happy at finding some women to talk with.

Trevor was hard at work. He had been hired on to help rebuild the Anderson Baptist Church. Several of the out of work people of Anderson were hired to do the job.

The aftermath of the fire had been cleaned up. They had been given the okay to rebuild off the old foundation. The floor decking had been finished. They had already started framing up new walls.

There were high hopes for the new church. It would take a while for it to completely finish. It would look like the old church in some ways. Then there were plans to make it bigger and better than before.

There was a hunt going on for a new preacher. They had interviewed several pastors with no luck. They didn’t want a new preacher to come in and change the ways of the church.

There were still some old Anderson Baptist Church members who weren’t there at the time of the fire. They believed in the beliefs of what Pastor Rodgers taught. They planned to hold a special memorial for Pastor Rodgers when the new church was finished.

Trevor was glad that the church was rebuilding. He was happy to be helping and also be getting paid for working. He planned to go to the first church service.
