Maria laughed shakily “I...I think so...” She whispered as Isabel placed a warm washcloth along her forehead.

“See? I told you we wouldn't hurt you.” She hummed playfully, stealing another kiss. Isabel retreated back to the foot of the bed with another cloth, starting to gently clean between Maria's thighs and anywhere else that might need attention.

Maria smiled and watched them closely “I always thought...Meeting Vampires would be a lot scarier she murmured, nuzzling into Dorian's chest.

“I always figured they would use up humans and then just, you know. Toss them away. Like...Why would you want anything to do with us? We're dumb and weak and sometimes we break our toes by tripping over cats.” She murmured, speaking from personal experience.

“Well, that's the thing.” Dorian started “We appreciate the fragility of human existence. It's a beautiful thing. I think humans understand how delicately their lives hang in the balance. Humans understand that they have a short amount of time on this planet and so they do everything they can to change it. Humans spend so much of their lives trying to preserve their legacy that they often do wonderful things in the process. Vampires...We live for ever. We simply sit on the sidelines and watch these busy humans change the world. It gives you a new view on dumb, weak humans.” He said with a soft laugh and a smile.

Maria snorted a little but didn't pull away. She was glad to let Isabel clean her up. The warm water was comforting and it was doing a good job of bringing her back down to earth. Plus she wasn't sure she could get up if she wanted to “Well...I suppose I could understand that. I used to have those colonies of ants that I liked to watch. I guess it's kind of the same thing.”

Dorian laughed and shook his head “I don't think so but...If that's how you feel about it, I'm not going to argue.”

Maria grinned at him “Good. You won't win, Remember?” She asked with a soft laugh.

Isabel came to settle beside them, cuddling up to Maria “Dorian learned many, many years ago that you don't argue with a woman.” She chimed in, taking Maria's hand and tangling their fingers.

Maria stared down at their joined hands and she brought Isabel's finger's to her lips and stared at her and then turned to look up at Dorian, her heart suddenly sinking a little “I'm afraid.” She whispered softly.

Isabel's eyes grew concerned “What are you afraid of, darling?”

Maria swallowed “I'm afraid I'll wake up and be alone.” She whispered.

Isabel smiled that gentle, nurturing smile again and kissed Maria tenderly “Don't worry, darling girl. You don't ever have to wake up. You'll never be alone again.”

Here’s a short excerpt from this steamy drama:

The sun had finally started to set and we had all the cows gathered up and were heading back to his little farm house. When we got in he decided he would go for a shower so I searched the fridge for something to cook up for supper. I didn’t really know how to cook much but how hard could it be?

Spaghetti seemed easy enough and it was pretty well ready by the time he got done in the shower. I turned off the burners on the stove and covered the noodles and the sauce. I turned around to find Conner standing behind me in just a towel. As he dried his blonde hair with a hand towel, water slowly dripped down his ripped chest and rock-hard torso. My jaw dropped. The man really was perfect.

He looked back and forth between me and the makeshift supper that I had put together. The look in his eyes was kind and gentle and there was something gleaming in his green eyes. He slowly walked toward me and stood so close that I could feel the heat from the hot shower projecting from his body. He just stood there looking into my eyes. He didn’t move. I watched him swallow and he opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out, just closed his lips and scanned my face, his eyes stopping at my lips.

He reached out and took one of my hands and placed it on his hard stomach. I ran my fingers over his abs. My heart was beating so fast that I was scared if he moved I would faint. I finally got the courage to look up at his face. He was watching me calm as could be. I reached up with my other hand and gently touched his face. He moved a little bit closer so his body was against mine and leaned his head into my hand and closed his eyes.

I ran my fingers across his strong jaw and then ran my thumb slowly across his bottom lip. Without opening his eyes he softly kissed the tip of my thumb and wrapped his arms around my waist and pressed his lips to mine. Too soon they were gone and his lips were by my ear. I moved my hands across his broad muscular shoulders and around his neck.
