“I did offer my heart and he took it and then gave it back to me in pieces. I can't go through that again. No Mark, I won’t go through it again. He doesn’t want me like I want him.”
Mark took her hand and smiled. “I have to go to work, but I will be true to my word for now, but you should really consider it.”
“I don't need to, please you don't understand, you can't. It’s just better this way.”
Mark turned and walked away kissing Laura goodbye before leaving.
“You know Lois, to cry only makes us human, it is the strongest known emotion. You can neither stop it, nor hide it. You feel it before you see it, and when you see it you then really feel it. There is nothing wrong with crying.”
“Laura, you and Mark have been so kind to me. I need another favor, one last favor. Mark told me he could set it up for me to stay somewhere else if I wanted to. I didn't want to put him or you out of your way, but I think at this point I need to go. I need to be alone and get my head on straight. I need this time to figure out what my next move will be.”
“I agree and will help you.” Lois watched as Laura made all the arrangements and then sent Lois off after Lois thanked her repeatedly for everything her and Mark had done and were doing.
The first few nights were awesome. Florida was really beginning to grow on her though. Mark had set her up in a hotel that he had been working on taking over when she first arrived. As soon as the paperwork was final, she started work as the Marketing Director. It was an easy job. Mark pretty much said she just had to make the place look good and sell the idea of staying here. Easy as pie.
She spent the nights walking along the beach and taking in the fresh air. At first it was a little much. She walked it but was afraid to get too close. But she had come to love living there. She couldn’t see herself living elsewhere.
Tonight the air was cooler. She should have dressed differently. But she liked the wind on her skin. The feeling of being free. Peaceful. She walked back to the hotel. Grabbed her shawl off the back of the couch and walked out onto her balcony.
Wine sure sounded nice to her. She had discovered that she had a hankering for making it to. The only flavor was Peaches but it was definitely selling good. She poured her a glass and returned to the balcony. She heard a noise behind her and turned around. Oh Fuck! Why now damn it?
“Tom, what are you doing here, and what are you doing standing in a towel for?”
“Let me explain, it’s not what you think, or looks like. Mark told me where to find you. I didn't know that you were staying in this suite until I opened an envelope he had given me after I had already arrived.”
“And yet you still stayed. Knowing that I was staying here. I can't do this Tom. I don't want to. I can't handle it. I don’t believe you. Mark wouldn’t tell you. He promised me.”
“Look, here read this. It was the letter he gave me when I left. He told me not to read it until I was here.” She watched as he shuffled through his bag and then handed her the envelope. She opened it and pulled out the piece of paper.
Tom my friend,
Forgive me for what I am about to tell you. Before the state trooper came back for you, Lois had called me and filled me in on what happened in great detail. She stayed with Laura and I for a few months then she wanted some help to get a way. She didn't want to see you. I am truly sorry my friend for hiding this from you. I made arrangements for her to stay in the very room you stand in. About the time you are arriving she should be taking her nightly walk on the beach. I have kept in touch with her. She talks of you often, and always asks how you’re doing. She feels like what happened between the two of you is her fault. With all she has been through I wanted to help her and make sure the woman you love was safe and taken care of so when you came to your senses she would be safe and sound. She may be hesitant at first, but fight to keep her. It will work out in your favor. You can thank me later. Go out onto the balcony.
Mark
She folded the paper back up and put on the table. “Can’t believe I trusted him. Why are you here? Everything was almost back to normal.”
“I can't handle not being with you every day; I can't handle not smelling peaches on your skin. I love you. I can't stop thinking about you. I know I messed up I do, but I love you. Please Lois, listen to me. Being without you is like well, it’s like a dying man, begging for water, and getting his hands on,,,,, on a glass nearby, and it only have a drop of water in it.”
He took a step toward her, she took a step back. Tom was surprised, she could tell. What did he think he could just show up and I would go rushing back into his arms? I don’t care what he has to say or play.
“Lois, say something please.”
She just stood there looking at him, tears dwindling from her eyes. “I can’t stand to see you cry Love. Don’t cry.” His voice was gentle and soft. He tried to walk to her, but with each step he took, she took one back.
“Okay. I understand. I’ll just get my things, and will be out of your way.” She watched as Tom grabbed his bags and walked to the bedroom and closed the door.
Shit Lois. Is this what you want? He came all this way. He says he loves you. Maybe this is your chance. Damn it Lois you love him take it. Her heart was telling her way more than she wanted to hear, but it was true.
When he opened the door, she was out on the balcony, getting the fresh air before she suffocated.
“Did you come all this way just to leave?” Tom turned around quickly to see her standing at the balcony looking over the ocean.
“I didn't see you, I had assumed by your reaction to me being here, you wanted to me leave.”
“I don't want you to leave; I want to know why you are here? I have nothing to offer
you.”
Tom let his bags down and went out to the balcony. They stood there silently for a few moments taking in the smell of the ocean, the gentle night breeze, and he only stared at her. He couldn't take his eyes off of her.
“Don't look at me that way.”
“What way, the way I look at something that I have never seen more beautiful.”
“Don't do this to me Tom. I have just started sleeping again. I can't do this.”
“I have yet to sleep. I have yet to eat. I shaved for the first time in 2wks tonight. I even feel the urge to live again. And it only took seeing you.”
She looked at Tom and allowed the tears to pore from her eyes. She had been longing to see him again. She needed him in her life just as much as he needed her now. She loved him more than she could have ever imagined. Just the sight of him again made her weak in the knees.
He took a single step toward her, and when she didn't step back, he finished closing the gap between them slowly, being sure not to scare her away again. With one hand he brushed the tears from her face.
“Don't cry my love; I will never hurt you again. I promise. I love you.”
And with the words out, she grabbed a hold of Tom's neck and placed her lips to his. This kiss was different than any they had ever had. This kiss was the kiss of true love. The kiss that said her heart belonged to him to the end of time. No more running.
He allowed his hands to rest on her cheeks while taking in every movement her hands making a path through his hair and on his neck. Tom pulled back just slightly, kissed one last time, brushing their noses, and spoke the words she was not expecting to hear.
“I'm,,,,, well, I'm hungry.”
She couldn't help but to laugh, and Tom joined her.
“Here come with me.” Tom followed her to the kitchen and started pulling things from the cabinets, and fridge.
“What do you feel like, I got um let me see, well I got it all and if I don't we can order it in.”
“I have a craving for peaches.” Tom had a smirky smile appear on his lips. That’s just who and how he was and she loved him for it. She smiled back at him feeling as if this was the start to the rest of her life.
“That can be arranged.” She reached in the fr
idge pulled out a peach and tossed it to him. “Like I said that can be arranged.” Tom and Lois both erupted into laughter.
Tom took his peach and began eating it. “Best peach I've ever had.” He looked up at her only to see her with the smirky smile now.
“No, really it’s the best peach I ever had.” She grabbed a bottle of wine from the fridge opened it and pored it for him. Handed him his glass and refilled hers. She watched him as he smelled it and then took his taste. He closed his eyes and then opened them looking at the glass.
“And this is the best wine I have ever had. What is this? Takes exactly like liquefied peaches.”
“I call it Peaches and Crème. I had a lot of trouble getting the taste right but knew exactly what to call it. You had some help with that.” Tom smiled.
He followed her to the sitting area, she placed her glass on the table and picked out a movie. “What are you in the mood for?” Tom watched her as she searched for something. Tom stood and came to her. Standing behind her he took her by the waist and whispered into her ear, “You”.
For a moment she didn't breath. It was a good thing that her lungs finally took over because she couldn't think of anything other than his touch, and what it was doing to her. Tom kissed her neck and then let go of her and went to the couch.
She continued with what she was doing, when she found what she wanted she put it in the DVD player and turned on the T.V. When she turned around there he still stood, and again hands went straight to her cheeks and his mouth to hers. God I missed him so much. So much.
When he stopped he looked at her. She could see it all over his face. It was the same look he had given her a few times before. She wanted him. But he almost acted like wasn't ready to go there just yet. “I don’t want to mess this up again Lois. I want this to go slow. Like a real relationship does.” All she could do was catch her breath, fight the tears of joy back and smile at him.
“I am still hungry. I'm a big man. I’m going to go get us something to eat. Will you still be here when I get back?”
“No worries, I’m done running, but you know we can order anything you fancy.”
“I won't be long.” And he was gone.
She was left standing there aroused, throbbing, and yearning for his touch. She knew Tom and knew she didn't have much time to prepare myself. She ran into the bedroom shedding her clothes along the way.
Grabbed some articles of clothing and a silky gown, and ran for the shower. She washed and shaved as fast as she could. Thankfully it was spa day and she just had a bikini wax. Jumped out, dried off, brushed her teeth, wrapped her hair up in a towel and then went to grab the clothes she had thrown on the floor.
She blow dried her hair, and then went back to the couch and started the movie. She lay there waiting for his return, looking at the clock every 5 minutes or so. The last time she saw the clock an hour had went by, then no matter how hard she fought it, her eyes were closed and she needed it. It had been a long day and it was close to midnight and she could finally rest.

“Jurassic Park, oh Peaches you never fail to surprise me.” He sat there watching the movie eating. When he finished he sat his plate in the sink and sat back down feeling the urge to sleep now himself when he shifted as she began to move.
“What did you bring back to eat? Now I'm hungry.” Tom looked over at her and smiled.
“Mexican, you want me to get you some.”
“Yes, please.” He kissed her softly and then stood and went to the kitchen.
She went to the bathroom and returned to sit on the couch again. Tom brought her the plate he had made for her and watched her eat it.
“What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a hungry woman eat? Aren’t you going to eat?”
Tom laughed out loud, “Yes, I have and I already did.” She smiled back at him and
finished her meal. She stood and went to the kitchen to fetch a bottled water. When she returned, there was a small box where she had been sitting.
Tom picked up the box, stood and took her by the hand. She sat down because if she didn’t her knees were about to buckle, Tom knelt in front of her.
“Lois, I have never met anyone like you. You have made me angry, sad, happy, amongst other things. I can't live in this world without you in mine. We have argued to the point I thought I would explode with anger. But I realized, I would rather spend my day doing that, than doing anything else with anyone else. I love you so much. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
She stood there speechless and watched Tom open the box and hold it patiently there for her to see. She watched as his hand trembled holding it there. She couldn’t take it anymore. Tears sprang to her eyes and with one word, she allowed him to breathe again. “Yes”.
Tom through his arms around her spinning a few times and then kissed her. He took the ring from the box. She stared at the ring for a few moments then looked up at him with a glisten still in her eye. It was absolutely the perfect ring. Tom turned it slightly so she could read the inscription that read, “Peaches and Crème together always.” Then he slid it on her finger. Tom lay his lips to hers gently and then released.
“I love you Peaches.”
“I love you Crème.”
She grabbed Tom’s hands and began leading him to the bedroom. She could feel his resistance and turned to look at him. He had a troubled look on his face. “What is it?” Tom just looked at her for a moment and then let it out.
“Well, I don’t know if I can love you the way I think you want to be loved Lois. I like things a certain way,” And she cut him off. She had a way about making his words stop and it usually involved her mouth to his. They stood there kissing each other for a few minutes and she went to lead him to the bedroom again, and again she could feel resistance.
She looked at him for a minute and then with a playful grin. “Alright then.” She reached to the silky blue belt that was keeping her robe closed and pulled. Then allowed the fabric to slide to the floor.
She was wearing the blue nighty he had seen her in before. She turned and walked toward the bed, and before she could lean and pull the blanket back Tom had a hold of her wrist, sliding to her waist, spinning her to face him.
For what seemed to be an eternity, they stared at each other. No words had to be spoken. Both of them could see they both wanted this more now than ever.
“Lois, you don’t understand what I am trying to tell you. I like things. You call them sick and twisted. I don’t want to risk losing you again. You have to tell me how to love you. How you want me to touch you. If I do something wrong, tell me and I swear it won’t happen again.”
“Okay, here it goes. I have been doing some research trying to figure out what it is you like. I think I might understand now. I think I might even be submissive. I like when you’re in control. I like when you tell me what to do. I like the idea of calling you Sir.” She winked at him trying to take the seriousness out of him.
“It’s not so much for me as it is for you. Have you ever noticed that when I spanked you it was like every nerve ending in your body lit up and was on fire? Not from my hand. But from the touch. Everything becomes so tender.” She felt herself blush but he was right.
“I did feel that. But you have to understand. I haven’t done this before. You wouldn’t open up and tell me anything about it you just wanted me to do it and it be ok. And I’m scared. You know my past now. Understanding you more, makes me not mind the spanking now. Maybe not quite as hard, but your right what it did after was worth it. I would really like you to tell me what you’re afraid of telling me.”
“What are you scared about?”
“I’m scared of you beating me with belts, whips, and canes.”
“So okay, I’m not into belts or hair brushing. Flogging and caning can be great if you trust your partner. I like the way my sex life is. I like the kinky sex, tender sex, hot sex, and rough sex. But it’s also about what you like. Maybe when you trust me again we can
explore other aspects together. Until then plain jane it is.”
“I trust you now Tom. Now more than ever.” She smiled and giggled. “To bad you don’t have a play bag with you now.” The look on his face. His mouth curved up and he walked out of the room. When he returned he had two rather large bags of only God and Tom knew what.
“I might have stopped along the way and picked up a few things.” She loved him and if this was what he liked, she would do this for him.
“Don’t be scared. Let me teach you. Are you ready?”
“Am I gonna be blindfolded and have to guess what everything is?”
“Not yet. Here, sit here.” He sat her on the bed. He quickly removed his t-shirt. Just the site of his bare chest alone was almost enough to do it. She watched nervously as he began pulling things out of the bag.
“Wait! Answer my question first. What is it you don’t want me finding out?”
She watched his body stiffen as he closed his eyes. “I was engaged before. She was everything to me. I would have given anything for her. She wanted to start exploring BDSM more so we did. After a year or so in to it both of us agreed this was the life style for us. The only problem was she was not a sub. She was dominant. I couldn’t be what she wanted and she could no longer be what I needed. I tried to meet her in the middle. I wanted to even go back to vanilla if that meant keeping her, but she wouldn’t. So that day I vowed that I would never change my life for another again. Not if it meant sacrificing who I was. This isn’t about what I am in to. This is who I am. Does that make sense to you?”
“That’s it? You were afraid to tell me that?”
“No. She went out on her own and six months later she was found dead. She was dressed out so we know she was working. She had found a calling for Dommes for hire so to speak. She had clients that would pay her for her services. To dominate them.”
“Oh Tom. I’m sorry. Did they find her killer?”
“No. So now you know.”
“And I still want to be with you.”
He smiled before turning his attention back to his goody bag.
