My body was wrapped completely around him, and I couldn’t speak. Everything I wanted to say rushed at me at once, and I couldn’t get any of it out. Tears streamed down my face, and I bawled like a baby.
“Dammit, Kimber,” he grunted. “Dammit, I love you.”
That sounded even better than over the phone.
“I love you, too,” I whispered.
It was over.
It was done.
I was back with Quinn, and we were both safe.
He was a little worse for the wear, but that wasn’t anything but time would fix.
“Did they hurt you?” he whispered in my ear.
I knew what he was asking me. I knew he wanted to know if any of them had touched me the way only he should.
I shook my head and cried even harder. “No,” I choked out. The only person who had touched me was Major and all he had done was slap me around a little bit. I had been lucky. I didn’t realize it until then just how lucky I was.
“You’re home, baby,” he cooed. “I’ve got you. Nothing will hurt you ever again.”
He squeezed me so tightly that I couldn’t breathe, but I didn’t want him to let me go. “Quinn,” I wheezed.
“Baby,” he whispered.
I leaned back, and his mouth descended on mine.
I had never had a better kiss in all of my life.
There had been a few moments of weakness when I thought I would never see him again or be able to touch him, and it had almost killed me.
Now having him back and being wrapped in his arms was more than I could comprehend. “I love you,” I said against his lips.
“I love you, too, baby.”
I closed my eyes and sighed. “You’re okay?”
“Now that I’ve got you, I am.”
I nodded then opened my eyes. “Good. Now, I get to knee you in the nuts for being part of that ridiculous club.”
He threw his head back and laughed. I watched in amazement, thankful that I was able to witness Quinn not only alive, but happy.
“You can try, baby, but it ain’t gonna happen.”
I quirked an eyebrow. “Fine, but you are going to have to tell me that I was right.”
“About what?”
“About that stupid-ass club. There was a reason I never wanted to go to any of those parties, and you didn’t listen to me,” I scolded.
“You knew if you were to go to one of those parties, you were going to get kidnapped?” he laughed.
“Well, no,” I giggled. “But I knew it wasn’t a good club.”
“Then it’s a good thing I blew that thing to pieces then.”
“Definitely,” I agreed.
“But what if I told you I found an MC that is a better fit for me?”
“I’d say you were crazy and that I should run in the other direction from you.”
He turned to looked at Core, Petra, and five guys I had never seen before looking up at us. “What if I told you that MC just saved your and my ass?”
I looked at the five guys who had put their lives on the line to save me. I had never met any of them before, and I didn’t even think Quinn really knew them either because he had never mentioned having friends outside of the clubhouse besides one guy called Dyno who Quinn never really knew where he was because the guy was like a gypsy. “Do you actually know these guys?” I asked softly.
Quinn shook his head. “Not really. Though the fucker with shit-eating grin on his face is Dyno.”
I looked up at Quinn. “Your best friend?’
He nodded. “Yeah, baby.”
“He came to help you.”
“Didn't even have to ask,” Dyno called. “I was coming to help even if he didn’t want me to.”
“This is your MC now?” I asked.
He nodded again. “This is what I was looking for when I stumbled into the Rolling Devils. This is what I wanted.”
I could feel things were different. These guys weren’t here for themselves. They were here for each other. “Maybe I won’t need to run in the other direction,” I mumbled.
“Good choice, baby. ‘Cause you know I would go through hell and back to have you.” Quinn wrapped me tight in his arms again and whirled us around.
He did go through hell to rescue me, and I planned on paying him back for the rest of our lives.
Chapter Twenty-One
Quinn
Safe again…
“You gotta be fucking kidding me.”
Kimber rolled over and threw her arm over my chest. “You are not allowed to leave this bed,” she grumbled.
“Baby, someone is at the door.”
“I don’t care if it’s the fucking Pope. You’re not leaving me.”
I rolled out from under her, then lifted her up in my arms. “Then your ass is coming with me to get the door.”
She didn’t protest. Just curled up in my arms and burrowed into my bare chest. “Good thing I put clothes back on after you fucked me,” she said sleepily.
“Definitely a good thing, baby.” I headed out of the bedroom and down the hallway with Kimber in my arms and I didn’t even mind how clingy she was being.
It had been twenty-four hours since I had taken out the Rolling Devils, and in that time, all I had done since was take a shower, sleep, and fuck Kimber.
I was in fucking heaven.
“Grab the door, baby.”
She reached for the door handle and pulled it open.
“It’s about fucking time,” Fancy yelled. She stood in the open door tapping the toe of her high heel clad foot.
“Woman, I told you she would come over when she was good and ready to.”
Kimber struggled to get out of my arms, then launched herself at Fancy.
“You scared the living hell out of me, woman,” Fancy cried. “I thought you were dead.”
I pulled them out of the hallway and into the apartment. It was after ten, and I didn’t think everyone else wanted to hear these two squawk at each other.
My phone buzzed on the counter, and I picked it up to see Core was calling. I ducked into the bedroom and put the phone to my ear.
“Yeah?”
“Quinn?” he said.
“Yeah, you got me, Core. What’s up?”
“I was wondering if we could get together to talk.”
I sat down on the bed. “About what?”
“Uh, I don’t really know what to do, Quinn. I was part of the Rolling Devils for so long and now…” He trailed off, and I hung my head.
“I don’t know how to trust you, man. I know you helped Kimber during all of that shit, but you were part of the Rolling Devils, and like you just said, it was for a long fucking time.”
“I get that, Quinn. I get it, man.” He sounded defeated and lost as fuck.
I sighed. “Look, I can’t speak for the club, and you know it all has to go through a vote but come to the club house tomorrow. We’ll see if maybe there is a place for you with the Kings of Vengeance.”
Dyno knew how I was feeling about Core and he was in agreeance that Core didn’t have anything to do with me being beat or Kimber being taken. Nobody really had anything to do with that besides Hog and Major.
“Thanks, man,” Core said quietly. “Thank you so much, Quinn.”
I hung up and rested my head in my hands.
“He helped me, Quinn.” Kimber leaned against the doorway of the bedroom with her arms crossed over her chest.
“You eavesdropping on me, baby?”
She nodded. “Yeah. I managed to get rid of Fancy with the promise of breakfast in the morning.” She pushed off the jamb and walked straight into me. She straddled my lap and pushed me onto the bed.
“You ready to go again?” I laughed.
“No.” She looked to the side then back at me. “Well, yeah, but first we need to talk about Core.”
“Not what I want to talk about when your pussy is pressed up against my dick.”
She rolled her eyes and pressed a hand to my che
st. “You can’t leave Core hanging, Quinn.”
“It’s club business, baby.”
“And this club business has to do with me.”
“No, it don’t,” I argued.
“He’s gonna be part of that club, Quinn, because I trust that man with my life.”
“As much as you trust me?’ I asked.
She bit her lip and shook her head. “Well, no, but I know you want good guys in your club, and I think Core is one of those guys.”
“I’ll mention it to the other guys, but it’s not just up to me, baby.”
She leaned down and pressed a kiss to my bare chest. “As long as you mention it to them, and then I can come in with some cookies or something to persuade them to my way of thinking.”
“Baby,” I laughed, “Your ass is not coming to a club meeting with fucking refreshments to try and get your way.”
She pouted out her bottom lip. “Then I guess I’m just going to have to convince the president to swing his vote my way.”
I rested my hands on her hips. “I’m already convinced, baby, I just don’t know if I can trust my gut anymore.”
“Oh, Quinn,” she sighed. “You know you can trust your gut. You just had a little blip with the Rolling Devils.”
“A little blip?” I laughed. “I almost got both of us killed.”
“And you learned from it.”
“Baby, why are you so good to me? You really should hate me and be running as fast as you can from me.”
She shook her head lightly. “You’re not gonna get rid of me, Quinn. I love you, and nothing you can say or do is going to change that.”
“You know how I said I’m a good man? I’m not that good of a man because right now, I should leave and leave you alone but I’m not gonna. You want me so I’m gonna do everything I can to be the man you should be with.”
“And I’m the type of woman who is going to soak up all of the amazing things you think you need to do to keep me, and not argue with that.” She pressed a kiss to my lips and smiled. “So, to recap, Core gets to be a part of the Kings of Vengeance and you’re going to spoil the hell out of me for the rest of our lives.”
“Deal,” I laughed. “Can I fuck you now?”
“Yeah. Totally,” she drawled.
I wrapped my arms around her and rolled us. “I’m one lucky fucker to have you, Kimber.”
“Just don’t ever forget it, Quinn.”
“I love you, baby.”
She smiled wide and brushed her fingers through my hair. “I love you, Quinn.”
Nothing was ever going to take Kimber away from me again.
The Kings of Vengeance and I would make sure of that.

Prologue
I stand in front of a room of many of the men I’ve looked up to for years. As a Prospect, I did the grunt work. I served my time and now, as I look out at the faces that have made me the man I am today I take the oath.
“I pledge to be loyal to one and all and never forsake my brothers. I vow to respect and honor my brothers as family. If my brother falls, I will be there to catch him. If my brother is in need, I will be there to provide for him. If my brother hurts, I will comfort him. When my brothers fight, I will fight next to them. I will never disrespect my family in any form. I will never turn on my family for if I do, death will be the only repercussion. I stand here today and vow to honor the code of brotherhood and shall not let any other stand between me and my brother for I am a Dark Savage, now and forever. I vow to destroy those who seek to harm, hurt or destroy this club, our families, or our property in any way. I am now and forever will be a Dark Savage!”
Chapter One
“Get your fuckin’ hands off me, Mitch,” I growl as the bastard cop holds my hands behind my back. The only thing he’s proving to anyone right now is how easily I could kill him. The flick of a fucking wrist, the slip of my blade through his flesh. He better watch his back.
“Shut the hell up, Savage. You don’t run the world,” he hisses as I feel the cuffs tighten around my wrists. I won’t be in these fuckers for long.
“You seem to forget that I run this fuckin’ city though, don’t you? The Chief know you’re out here fuckin’ me over or does it make your little pecker hard thinkin’ you’re the good cop?” Taunting the son of a bitch is one of the highlights of my day. I chuckle when the asshole slams my face into the roof of his car. I can taste the metallic blood as it flows into my mouth. Spitting it on the roof with the rest of my blood, I turn my head to look at the prick over my shoulder.
“You about done with this show of authority, Mitch? I mean, I do enjoy a good fight, but I’d rather be wrestlin’ your little wife around than you.” In a split second, Mitch spins me around, smashing my back into the car.
“You listen to me, Savage! I don’t care who’s in your pocket over my head. Right now you are breaking the law and I’m here to enforce it!”
“What the fuck did he do aside from pissin’ in your Fruit Loops?” Thorn, my VP, chimes in next to us. The rest of my brothers stand around watching the scene unfold as do the onlookers thinking they are getting a real fucking treat watching this idiot manhandle my ass. Little do they know, I could have his ass fired in the matter of a day, if that’s what I really wanted to do.
“Get the hell out of here! All of you before I call in backup and have you all taken in.” The louder he screams the more I want to head butt the fucker just to get him to shut the hell up. Mitch shoves me into the back of the car as I chuckle. Shoving back into the seat, I lay my head back and wait on the fucker to get in and tell me what the fuck is going on. I watch his overly chubby ass as he walks around and gets in the front seat, starting the car, and shifting it into gear. We drive a short way in silence before it all becomes overly annoying.
“You gonna tell me what this shit is about?” When I don’t get an answer, I sigh and let the silence linger. I haven’t done shit that should warrant this little ride downtown, but there has to be a reason behind it. Chief David Nelson has been in my pocket for as long as I’ve been President of this Chapter of Dark Savages MC. California is my home and always has been. I don’t see that ever changing so long as I keep my head right and my game tight. So far, I’ve done just that.
As we pull into the precinct, I let out a breath when I see the Chief awaiting my arrival. The thought of crushing his skull with my hands has crossed my mind over the last twenty
minutes of my ride here. Although he does make a good ally to have, I can always find more. Mitch climbs out and comes around to pull me out when David’s eyes sweep over my face as I smirk at him.
“I told you to pick him up, not beat his ass,” he huffs as I’m shoved in his general direction.
“You sent him after me? And to what do I owe the fuckin’ honor of this shit?” David watches me almost as if he’s hesitant to speak to me, which seems odd. He’s never been the shy type before.
“Let’s go inside. There’s someone here you need to speak with,” he says waving toward the entrance. Now it’s my turn to hesitate. I don’t know what the fuck I’m walking into and the unknown isn’t a place I thrive. “Now!” When he snaps this time, I sigh and walk behind him through the glass doors and down the hallway. Getting a few stares from the other officers, I wiggle my eyebrows at the bastards before following David into his office. Just as the door closes behind me, I gasp. I never expected to see the man currently sitting in front of me in a suit and tie. Never thought I’d see him again after we parted ways, yet here he is in the same office as me, with the same crooked police Chief. David moves behind me removing the cuffs as I take in the man before me. At one point in our lives, he was my best friend, my neighbor. We grew up broke and hated by most people, but Bryon Hill moved on with his life and onto bigger and better things while I stayed and fought. I found the club and that became my legacy.
“I didn’t know this was a reunion or I would have worn my Sunday best.”
Bryon watches me that half-assed smirk on his face. Shoving out of his chair, he moves toward me, extending his hand, “Good to see you too, Marcus.”
My name coming from his mouth sounds so damn natural but it’s a name that I haven’t gone by in many years. Taking his hand in a firm grip, I stare into his eyes wondering what the hell this meeting is about.
