Yield to Love

“Where’s my ring?”
He chuckled. “Ah, that’s the spoiled woman I know and love.”
She put her hands on her hips. “I’m not joking.”
Roque caressed her face. “Baby, we can go right now and pick the biggest damn diamond you want. Nothing but the best for you.”
At that moment, the toilet in the stall nearest them flushed. An elderly, white-haired woman emerged from the stall.
Marlowe gaped, clearly embarrassed. “Oh, my God. Did you…?”
“Don’t worry about me,” the woman said, shuffling to the main door. “I understand passion. I used to be young once.” She glanced at Roque. “That was the best action I’ve had in years.” Then she glanced back to Marlowe. “This man’s a keeper,” she said.
Roque laughed as the old woman left the room. “Well, you heard her,” he told Marlowe. “You’d better keep me.”
Marlowe leaned on tiptoe to kiss him. “I think I’ll take her advice.”
Roque pulled her into his embrace and claimed her lips with a soul-stirring kiss. This was where she belonged—in his arms. She wouldn’t fight it anymore. Roque was right: They’d finally yielded to love.
