The Last Fight of Human Race

  After Grace went to the washroom,Jason quickly asked Christy''Really?you are that desperate to make new friends that you can't appreciate the place we live in?''

  ''Don’t lecture me''

  ''I wont ''with that said he started walking towards kitchen,and he for the first time he felt soft skin grabbing onto his hand,few seconds later he realised it was Christy's hand stopping him from going to sleep in bad mood,no matter how much he denied it ,he felt happy when he finally felt her tender touch against his skin,he paused and looked at her.

  ''Please ,don't be mad at me ,I know you care ,and I want you to know that we care about you too,okay?''she said with soft concerned voice.

  ''Why are your hands so cold?'' he asked ,totally out of context.

  ''What?''

  ''Your hands ,are cold,are feeling alright?'' he said while placing his hand on her forehead ,the other still in Christy's grip,he didn't move that hand even an inch,because he was afraid one tiny movement and she would let go off his hand.,and she didn't move either,''hmm,your head ok''

  ''Im fine ''

  ''okay''

  Christy went on to sleep on the hard wooden floor ,and used the silk cloth ;table cover to use as blanket,so did everyone else .Five minutes later ,a sudden unholy,screeching ,annoying noise woke everyone up,what did they see;a team of greenish brown coloured ugly creatures,everyone got on their feet and panicked ;especially our team of three,cause they had gotten used to a simple life with no monstuas in sight;no humans either but no monstua was the main attraction of this place;Martin grabbed his weapons and commanded''To the kitchen ;move move move'',everyone listened to him then Christy halted ''wait there are still creatures in there from the last time''

  Everyone moved towards the kitchen ignoring her .

  After everyone got in Jason locked the door ;Martin checked again to see if he locked it correctly;Jason gave him a discouraged look to which Martin shrugged and continued to block the entrance secure .''What now we can't hide here forever?''Grace protested.

  ''Lady,if you got a better idea then ,be my guest''a confident Martin answered

  ''Yeah,we need to wait them out''

  ''Yeah,I trust them''Christy said,

  ''I don't understand how did they all of sudden show up here?''Jason asked Martin,but he had no answer.

  '' hey,maybe it was because of the....the''Christy figured out,but poor thing wasn't good at conversing .

  ''Fire?''Grace interrupted with a condescending voice,with a smug look on her face.

  Jason gave her an 'oh yeah?' look and turned to Christy ,to say''That's very quick thinking, Christy,you are right''

  Nalini gave him an eye roll to which Jason replied ''So,it was their ,plane,that attracted these monstuas to us,the fire must-''

  ''Um,excuse me our plane is also responsible for killing those monstuas that you saw in the fire today''

  ''Which was also caused by your plane!''this time Jason's voice had anger and concern both.

  There was a long silence after seeing his outburst,Jason continued ''Those flames must have attracted them,that's why they got here''.

  Everyone calmed down after that ,they didn't want to fuel his anger,Martin said ''Ohkay,if everyone could calm down and think about how to get out of here alive ,that'd be great''and walked towards the meat locker,as he approached the door,Nalini stopped him,''Wait,I can hear some noise from the locker!''

  ''Yeah,I know I locked him myself''

  Nalini's jaw dropped,now she was more scared of Martin than monstua.

  ''Wait,then why are you going in there,if it bites you then you will turn into one of them''she said.

  Martin let out a huge laughter ''Missy,this aint no zombie apocalypse,that's not how it works,this aint no movie''

  ''Then how does it work?''

  ''I don't have time for explainin stuff to you grown ups''and with this ,he opened the door to the mea locker ,he then saw the monstua he had left the first time they escaped from it.Martin took out his gun shot the monstua in its head ,and confidently walked in,everyone was confused at this point ,not knowing how to react to the information Martin just shared,was it a theory ,or was everyone wrong about the situation,funny,how everyone was focused on what Martin believed ,rather than worrying about getting out of the current situation alive.

  ''Shit,he didn't eat all the meat ''Martin said,gauging the locker.

  ''You wanted him to ?''asked Christy

  ''no,no,its not that,I just didn't expect him to ''

  ''Why not ?''curious jason back to his questions.

  ''Because ,he is a tough fella!,he should have had more to eat''

  ''How do you know its a he ?''Christy asked a valid but unnecasssary question.

  ''That look like a girl to you?'' he asnwered with a question.

  ''Okay ,enough with the chit chat ;are we gonna stay here and freeze to death?''Nalini broke the silly conversation.

  ''If you would like to fight them ;then be my guest ,but I don't think you would win''

  ''Very funny ''She said annoyingly,she was pissed at herself ,for getting into this silly group .

  ''Did anyone notice the monstua was quite calm ;aren’t they supposed to be hungry and frantic?''Jason asked.

  "You want them to be hungry?''Nalini was still irritated by him.

  ''I was actually asking Martin ,and not you ''and he turned to Martin for answer

  ''Yeah,yeah,he seemed calm,I think ;maybe he was so full by having the meat we gave him month ago;he was feelin lazy,eh?''and he chuckled.

  Everyone was giving him annoyed look.

  ''Seriously ,Martin,please,if you know something tell us"Christy asked Martin,while folding her arms near her chest.

  Martin had a soft spot for her ;since the three had started living together.

  ''No,I seriously don't know anything ,Christy!'' he said.

  Christy let out a sigh saying''Okay,I trust you''.

  ''This is crazy how are we supposed to be here all day'' protested Nalini,again.

  ''As Martin said,you can go fight them yourself if you want!''said Jason as he walked confidently towards a part of meat locker room and did some wrestling behind a big peice of meat hanging down;almost ready to drop,but to no avail.He walked back to where the group was standing.''I guess the switch must be on the outside'' Jason sighed.

  ''Yeah,I think they must controlling all the rooms from one place.It is huge restaurant after all ''Martin said.

  Jason shrugged and stood in line . Soon ,there was havoc,the monstuas were banging at the door and the windows .A window glass broke shards.A monstua ,got inside,but it was in the hallway,searching for humans,everyone was panicking,tears rolling down their cheeks,it was scary.They were actually dealing with monsters.

  ''Jason, open the door''Martin commanded.

  Christy and Nalini looked at him in horror as Jason walked towards the door ,a whole meat in his hand as he walked towards it ,and hid behind the door as he opened it he held the meat in front of the monstua who entered the room ,as the monstua halted and yanked the meat from him and started gnawing at it ,Martin put an axe to its skull,and its nibbling on

  the meat stopped as its face fell flat on the meat that it was eating .Everyone’s heartbeat came to normal pace.

  Tonight,everyone will have goodnight’s sleep,for today's event was a landmark in their new life.It gave them hope that they could survive this hellhole of world ,together.Ergo,the celebration.

  Martin was making another meal,everyone wanted to eat meat.But he had to remind them that the saved meat is what saved them.

  Jason went to clean the dishes.Christy joined him .A smile spread across Jason's face.Grace was laughing at Martin's jokes.

  Everyone had a peaceful ,joyful night.They saw ugly creatures fought them ,and won.A sense of confidence ,hope ,entered their mind and body.This didn't mean they weren't worried about the monstuas ,ofcourse, they were,at the back of their heads ,maybe,but for a few minutes everyone forgot about the rotten world,and came t
ogether and shared laughs and stories.While these four were having a blast ,On different side of the world a con artist was making his way to rob a new place .And a young woman was hiding inside her Malibu mansion .

  The doors were locked,all the windows were closed too.She was trying to keep quiet as the monstuas showed up near the premises .She hid under the dining table attached to her bedroom which was as good as whole apartment.She woke up from her sleep as felt a presence inside the room.Flashback went through her mind ,all the good stuff in her life,mansion,expensive clothes ,shoes,cars,and now she was hiding in her own house.She flinched ,close her eyes.Afraid ,heart beating so fast as if it were gonna explode right then and there in her body.A sudden flash of light hit her eyes.She inadvertently covered her eyes with one forearm.The flash kept fluctuating .Sometimes too strong then almost not there.She wondered what was causing it and why was it so familiar to her,she reluctantly slowly opened her eyes .She chuckled had her stupidity.''Its the T.V'' she almost whispered to herself.''Wait why is it suddenly on? the monsters don’t know how to turn on a television ,or do they?''she asked herself.She slowly moved her head in order to peep out of the table cloth.She place her hand slowly onto the cloth's end to raise it up.Bathroom door squeaked open .She jumped back ,covering her mouth to silence her whimper.Now she could smell aftershave as she saw fair pair of feet walk in the bedroom again.Then it hit her.If it was the monstuas ,they would be growling and screaming like animals but the aren't silent creatures.And if it wasn't them who had just entered her mansion then who was it ?

  She was relieved that it wasn't them but then it only meant one thing .It was a human.That was more dangerous.She could have dealt with an intruder before all this.But in this situation of the world ,even a human being was as dangerous as the monsters lurking outside .She was afraid but she wasn't gonna give all the luxuries to just any thief ,no matter how much he wanted to survive.She was not letting her pricey stuff get stolen but was not exactly willing to die for it.She thought for a moment ,a plan ,anything .She didn't know where to start.

  Thump.''The person or monster just jumped on my bed eeew''

  She kept thinking and thinking but she couldn’t come up with anything .She dozed off.An unfamiliar voice woke her up.

  ''Miss,are you okay?''

  The words didn't seem to register ,she just heard a voice which she didn't recognize.Plus she fell asleep thinking of killing this intruder.So she did what she planned for ,aimed for his chest,or something.She closed her eyes and as her move was executed she opened her eyes in shock .The man stood up and walked towards the bed.

  ''You didn't think I would wake you up with a weapon in your hand did you?'' he said ,as walked with confidence all over him.

  ''Are you going to-''

  ''Kill you ?No''

  He continued''I just came here trying to save my life from these creatures or whatever those things are''

  ''Me too''

  ''Oh,really?''

  ''Yes ''

  He smiled and extended his arm towards her ''I am Jeff Cayton''

  She smiled back and shook his hand ''I am Stacey''

  She took a sigh of relief.The man wasn't here to steal her food and kill her.He was just surviving.

  ''The rich fat fucks who lived here seemed to have pretty much everything stacked up.I mean while normal people were trying to protect their families ,these people brought everything as soon as the heard the news ,it seems''

  ''Yeah,it seems that way''

  ''So,um,you could choose whichever bedroom you want to,I think the one on the left of this room ,it will suit you''

  ''Oh,is that so,I didn't check the whole mansion,you know I was tired and all with the surviving and all''

  ''Ya,sure,I understand ''

  ''Okay, so I guess will checkout the rooms and you sure you will be fine ?''

  'I am not sure ,Is he talking about the room or is he asking about the monsutas?I will just nod my head ,make him think I understood what he said'

  She nodded her head in agreement and he walked out of the room.

  She stood there in silence for a few seconds .And then with a smile she flopped onto her king size bed .A head landing directly on the pillow .As she looked at ceiling ,smiled at herself in the mirror .Soon her smiled faded away as she saw something move under her bed.Her experession of joy changed to that of a scared one.Her blue eyes widened in fear.

  'Is there someone else here?I thought it was just one intruder.Or was he lying to me about ''just '' surviving .Maybe he is

  not alone ,maybe he has people with him,or a partner ,or maybe a monstua'.

  She didn't move .Her right hand searched for something to grab.She only felt the silk covers that she had chosen for her pretty bedroom.Then it hit something not too strong not too weak,it was a remote to her huge television ,which Jeff had switched on when he walked inside the room.She saw a green weird mushy head ,which still deciding what to do.She grabbed the remote tightly .Not too sure what she was gonna do with it .But she held it like a weapon.Maybe she could hit it

  with the remote and buy some time to escape.And so she did .She heard a silent growl.And was ready to swing it at the skull but didn't see any skull.Stacey was still holding it .Shocked at the two things she froze as she was .First reason that the monstua didn't get up and attack her instead it went back inside .As she froze ,on her knees ,remote in her hand.A sudden

  burst of noise startled her .And then she realised that maybe ,the monster creepin' under her bed was not that bad,infact it was not bad at all.She cautiously looked at the screen ,slightly turning her towards the television yet not taking her eyes off of the monstua.She accidently increased the volume.Flinched her eyes.Waiting for the monster to attack her ,growl,attack the surroundings .Nothing.

  Eureka! she wanted to shout.'I am not dumb,I did something ' .An innocent smile spread across her beautiful face. With muffled footsteps she carried herself out of the room.Eyes still fixed on the bed where the monstua was.Her back facing the door.

  ''Ouch!''Jeff exclaimed as he bumped into her.

  ''Shshsh''she hushed him.

  Jeff frowned in confusion and irritation.

  ''There is a monstua under the bed'' she whispered .

  Jeff's eyes widened in horror.

  He immediately went peeked inside the room.

  ''Are you sure it was not just your imagination?'' he asked

  ''Nooo,no,no''she yelled but in whisper.

  ''Fine ,where is it?'' he whispered back

  ''It's under the bed ! I already told you!'' she angrily whispered

  ''Fine grab something and lets deal with it'' he said ,searching for a weapon,there was an expensive vase near the door.

  '''Let's get something from the kitchen!''she whispered

  ''No,if it attacks by the time we reach the kitchen ,we are over.'' he said

  ''It WILL attack us as soon as we start walking''

  ''Okay'' she said

  ''We go in there,silently attack him with this thing and then run towards the kitchen''

  Chill ran down their spine .She sighed .He gulped.

  Jeff had the vase in his hands and Stacey had her pointy shoes in her hand.

  Jeff Flung the door open.

  Relaxed expression on both's face

  A green skinned,ferocious teeth,and bloodshot eyed-kid sat at the end of the bed.Crying.

  Relaxation left her body.Tears built up.She was trying to speak but couldn't.Jeff placed his hand on her shoulder.

  She looked at him ''They did this to a -''

  She burst into tears and buried her face in Jeff's chest as he held her.He slowly patted her head.

  ''How could they-'' She said in between her whimpers.

  Back at the restaurant-

  Another monstua entered the area.It hit Martin with its huge arms,sending him flying 5 foot away and falling on the ground.He could hear the sound of his bones .He didn't get up.But the Monstua came back at him,this time his fist gripped on Martin's neck as it
lifted him up high.As if it was mocking him.As if he wanted to show him how powerful it was.As it was about to slam Martin on the ground .The monstua dropped Martin from it's grip and looked at Christy who had thrown a brick at it's head.It looked at her ,savagely.Good thing she picked up Martin's gun before she decided to hurt a steel like giant monster with a brick.But then again ,she didn't know how to use a gun.As a result,her hands were trembling for two reasons.First reason being unsure of how to shoot at the monster now that she has gained his attention,and the second reason;was she ready to kill someone ?

  Even if it was a monster who was trying to hurt her friend .She knew she couldn't do it.She was regretting her decision of trying to save Martin.She adored him,she didn't want to see him die.Yet,she regretted.She regretted throwing a brick at the savage standing in front of her,who was getting closer to her second by second.He kept his beastly eyes set on her,like a predator .Color drained out of her face.She was about die and she knew it.She wanted it to finish her quick.She didn't like one milisecond of this.Not one bit.And she wanted it to all go away.'Just kill me already ' she thought to herself.Her eyes flinched.Tears shining on her cheeks.

  Thud!

  Furious Roar is heard

  She opened her eyes in shock.What got hit and why was the monstua roaring.She saw an infuriated monstua looking at someone on its right.He was now mad at Jason ,for he had thrown another brick at it's head.It staggered like a drunk.Still growling at Jason.His growl was interrupted by another brick on it's head .This hit made it's head bleed and it fell on the ground .Unconcious.Martin picked up the gun that Christy had dropped while she was watching fight between Jason and the monstua.He walked over to the monstua. Everyone heard gunshots fired,luckily it was Martin who fired.
