  About the Author

I am a sixty-five plus years old who dreamed of being an author all my life. I first tried writing in my late teens, with a manual typewriter. Then life got busy, college, a career in computer programming, marriage, children, passing of first wife, marriage to second wife, heart by pass surgery, passing of second wife, marriage to third wife and forced retirement.

Now I am primarily a house husband (My wife, Judy, still works.) and a caregiver for my mother-in-law, who lives with us.

We live in the little town of Ford City, about an hour north east of Pittsburgh.

I have been a life long comic book fan, although now that interest has turned the the superhero exploits in the movies, on TV and the written genre (Comic books just cost too much.) This led me to write this book.

In the DC Comics universe, the appearance of super-beings was triggered by the arrival of Superman. So, in the book's universe, it was truly triggered by Apollo's arrival when he, unknowingly, introduced the Power Virus to the world. Artemis's arrival and subsequent coming into her full powers as a teenager gave Apollo someone to share the responsibilities of being the most powerful hero on Earth.

It was pointed out to me, that Artemis's journey is akin to “Hero's Journey” by James Campbell, where a hero, first, rejects a call to adventure, second, accepts the call, and third, completes the task, but at a cost. Artemis is still on that journey.

All authors, especially self-published, like me, need feedback. Please leave a review. If you want to send my any comments, my e-mail is chuckkwriter@gmail.com.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. This is what every writer wants, someone to share the world that they created.
