CHUCK MILLER was born in Ohio, lived in Alabama for many years, and now resides in Norman, Oklahoma, for reasons best left to the imagination. He is a Libra whose interests include monster movies, comic books, music and writing. He holds a BA in creative writing from the University of South Alabama.

He is the creator/writer of TALES OF THE BLACK CENTIPEDE, THE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURES OF VIONNA VALIS AND MARY JANE KELLY, THE BAY PHANTOM CHRONICLES, and THE MYSTIC FILES OF DOCTOR UNKNOWN JUNIOR. He has also written stories featuring such classic characters as Jill Trent: Science Sleuth, Armless O'Neil, The Griffon, and others.

Miller received the BEST NEW WRITER OF 2011 Award from Pulp Ark. His first novel, the critically acclaimed "Creeping Dawn: The Rise of the Black Centipede" was published in 2011 by Pro Se Press. The second installment in the Black Centipede series, "Blood of the Centipede" was published in 2012. Miller continues to produce other tales from the world of the Black Centipede including "Black Centipede Confidential", and "Vionna and the Vampires," the first installment of The Incredible Adventures of Vionna Valis and Mary Jane Kelly.

"The Black Centipede and related characters are part of a grand concept I came up with myself and started writing and publishing on the web," says Miller. They had actually been festering in my skull for more than 20 years-- a proposed comic book that never made it off the ground-- and it seemed about time to let them out."

A native Toledoan, JIM BEARD was introduced to comic books at an early age by his father, who passed on to him a love for the medium and the pulp characters who preceded it. After decades of reading, collecting and dissecting comics, Jim became a published writer when he sold a story to DC Comics in 2002. Since that time he’s written official Star Wars and Ghostbusters comic stories and contributed articles and essays to several volumes of comic book history.

His work includes the extremely popular MONSTER ACES anthology from Pro Se Productions, GOTHAM CITY 14 MILES, a book of essays on the 1966 Batman TV series, SGT. JANUS, SPIRIT-BREAKER, a collection of pulp ghost stories featuring his own Edwardian occult detective, CAPTAIN ACTION: RIDDLE OF THE GLOWING MEN, the first pulp prose novel based on the classic 1960s action figure; and MONSTER EARTH, a shared-world anthology of giant monster tales.

Currently, Jim provides regular content for Marvel.com, the official Marvel Comics website, is a regular columnist for Toledo Free Press and has new and forthcoming comic and prose work from Bluewater, TwoMorrows, Airship 27 and Pro Se.

TIM LASIUTA is a man of many interests. Once he discovered the world of comics as a youngster, his life was never the same. Comics, books, classic films, radio plays and drama, art, and pulp adventure heroes are vividly alive in his imagination. He has worked with True West Magazine, Comic Buyers Guide, Wildest Westerns, Mad Magazine, and the late Penguin Comics website . Tim has worked in the comics industry with Classics Illustrated, Graphic Classics, and Moonstone Books, for whom he brought iconic characters Zorro, the Green Hornet, and the Lone Ranger to print again.

"I've always loved pulp characters," says Lasiuta, "and that is what initially brought me together with Moonstone Books and ProSe." Over the last 10 years, he has found, negotiated, and written about pulp icons as part of Moonstone's efforts. COVERT OPS GEMINI is his first work with ProSe, and likely the first many.

Just like an old time reporter, or caped superhero, Tim calls a newspaper, the Innisfail Province, home during the day.

  R. P. STEEVES is the author of the Misty Johnson series, chronicling the adventures of a centuries-old detective who solves supernatural crimes in Washington, DC.
