As Fate Would Have It (Capparelli & Co. Book 2) Page 18

by Dee Lagasse

Bending down, I press my lips to Cole’s forehead.

  “Here’s to fate.”

  THE END.

The Capparelli & Co. crew will return with Travis’s story in early 2020!

  Acknowledgments

When I first started writing Without Warning, I never imagined I would be back here, writing book number two of a series that was never supposed to be a thing. Hollis and Chase’s story was going to be a standalone, until I fell in love with Abbott Hills. Much like the amazing, tight-knit Cap & Co. crew, I always have my own little group of people in my corner, and this is my love letter to them.

First, the real life “hot guy driving the Subaru” – Jeffrey. Thank you for your patience and for believing in me. There is no one who is more supportive of this dream than you. Thanks for being the kind of man and dad that makes it easy for me hide away and write for hours, for letting me bounce ideas off you and for being excited for every little moment. Love you the most, Cracker Jack.

Of course, the littlest loves of my life – The Minis. Dillon, Kallie and Hunter, thank you for putting up with cereal dinners and your mom hiding away on Sundays while I’m on a deadline. You’re my favorites. (Yes. All three of you. Equally.) And, to Jeremy, Lily, Nico, Emily, Molly, and Violet - you make me the luckiest auntie in the world. You nine are everything that is right in this world and I love you all beyond measure!

My amazing family - especially the parental units (both mine and Jeff’s), my grandmothers and my siblings - for always standing by my side and supporting me in every way you can. From buying books, to sharing posts, to telling your friends, I am so lucky to have a family that believes me. All twenty-seven sides of you. (Special shout-out to Mom, Mama Cheryl, SiSi, Jenn, Kellie and Auntie Jane for ALWAYS coming through when it comes time to push a release. You guys are the real MVPs.)

The “squad” I would have if I was cool enough to have a squad – Abbi Glines, Chelsea Davis, Aimee Lavoie, Lindsey Batts and Justine Herrmann. You four are, without question, the most badass women I know. Thank you for still wanting to be my friend when I ghost you for weeks and then send you thirty-seven texts in a row.

Travis Soucy – TRAVYYYY. Maybe one day, we’ll be “grown-ups” and follow through with plans, until then, thanks for being the best kind of friend there is. I know that if I really needed you, you’d be there in a heartbeat and I will never not be thankful to have that. Thanks for putting up with my crap for (I don’t want to admit out loud exactly how many) all these years.

Tiffany Hernandez. How I ever survived before you were my PA is beyond me. I am so grateful you’re on my team and in my corner, just as Dee.

Kelli Spear. You are one of the most selfless humans on this earth and I am so incredibly lucky to have you as my friend, and as a part of my team. I couldn’t do this without you, but even if I could, I wouldn’t want to.

Ellie McLove of My Brother’s Editor. You are a miracle worker. I am so glad we got our shit together and now you’re stuck with me forever.

Alexandria Bishop of AB Formatting & Design. Thank you for dealing with my everchanging dates and for not making fun of me when I forget to send you these acknowledgements as part of the final manuscript. And, of course, for making my books look so pretty on the inside.

Autumn Gantz of Wordsmith Publicity. All your hard work makes a hell of a lot less work for me. I appreciate that and you!

My “Beta Bees” – Jerilyn Martinez, Julie Moss, Kris Duplantier, Mac Marshall, Amanda Modschiedler and Justine Herrmann. From the beginning to “the end,” you guys were all in. I am so lucky to have each of you and here’s to hoping we have many more books together!

My ARC Team – Amanda Lobato, Amber Behnke, Amy Patten, Ashlyn Powell, Brittany Ledbetter, Candace Adams, Charity DeBack, Courtney Wyczawski, Ebbie Moresco, Gladys Aviles, Heather Boofer, Jeanine Levy, JoAnna Alsup, Kayla Davis, Kendrea Terrell, Krystal Gilmore, LaTonya Stewart, Meagan Hunt, Megan Chambers, Morgan Martinez, Rochelle Kolar, Sarah Larson, Shelly Tooley, Sydney Cordeiro – thank you for your time, your reviews and all the early love for this book. It’s readers like you that keep me going!

My favorite little group on the internet – Capparelli & Co. Thank you for being my safe place and for accepting me and all my hot mess tendencies.

To every blogger, bookstagrammer and reader that shared the cover or a post, read an ARC, bought the book… thank you. You are amazing.
