Reapers and Angels

Calis was still trying to wake Ashton when Sebastian came into the room.
“Still not waking? How long did you sing and at what volume?”
Sebastian asked since he was a bit concerned about Ashton at this point.
“Well, for about an hour since I was trying to catch that soul and fairly loud.”
Calis pat Ashton’s leg wondering how the heck they were going to carry everything plus Ashton out of here.
Michael came into the room and had Calis move.
“I shall carry this cherub.”
Michael said as he lifted the boy into one of his arms cradling him against his body.
“We need to leave now. They are coming and soon we won’t be able to leave at all. If you do not want war, we must go.”
Sebastian nodded and gathered the bags. Calis grasped one and Anne had two in her hands.
“We are ready.”
Sebastian said as they went to the back window where two Archangels waited to join with their brother.
“Uriel and Gabriel, it is good to see you both. I am taking the cherubs now. I gather you can do the introductions later.”
Michael said as Gabriel who had long silver hair and metallic silver eyes changed into an exact copy of Calis. Uriel who had long red hair and serpent green eyes changed into Sebastian. The two jumped through the window closing it watching their brother form the portal walking the family through it.
The portal opened into the hall of records where Kingsly rushed forward throwing his arms around Sebastian with tears in his eyes.
“Oh, Bassy I was so worried! I thought the demons would get all of you for certain!”
Kingsly sobbed as Sebastian couldn’t pull the red headed man off since his hands were full. William luckily came and saved Sebastian from his beloved.
“Kingsly let the man breathe. He is safe and there is no need for tears.”
William said as he gently pulled Kingsly off Sebastian, but then Kingsly grabbed William and started shaking him.
“How could you let this happen William?! You had Sebastian with you all day! It is your fault they are after my beautiful Bassy and my cherubs!”
Kingsly yelled at William who at this point had to have Ronald attack Kingsly before he shook William’s brain out of his head.
“It wasn’t William’s fault Kingsly! Quit picking on him!”
Ronald stated as Kingsly fought with him and the two wrestled around while Sebastian rolled his eyes at them. Calis just sighed and hoped that this would not be going on every day. Michael simply stood with Ashton and Anne chuckled at the two men wrestling on the floor. It was so funny.
“William, is Christian here yet?”
Michael asked William who was in the middle of debating if he should pull the two reapers apart or let them alone. Really, this was no place for such behavior.
“He is on his way my Lord. The reapers caught up with him they are just trying to find a safe place to do the portal. The amounts of demons in the vicinity has grown so we have also added the same amounts of reapers in the area. Hopefully we can keep enough of them busy that we can get Christian out safely.”
William said before he decided to hit both Kingsly and Ronald with his scythe. The two were still grappling with Kingsly biting at Ronald’s leg while Ronald was beating on Kingsly twisted around him like a pretzel.
“William take Ashton and these good people to your flat. After you are done I need Sebastian and Christian to come with me for a time. Insure Calis and Ashton are watched religiously. I do not wish for either one of these cherubs to be captured.’
“Anne, you remain with the boys. We do not need you at this time. It is imperative the cherubs are kept safe even from reapers.”
Michael handed the unconscious boy to William.
William took Ashton only for Kingsly to grab the cherub from out of his arms after William scolded both he and Ronald. Kingsly nuzzled Ashton and twirled around with him for a moment.
“I will carry my precious godson. He is so cute when he is sleeping.”
Kingsly cooed as he kissed that cheek and flew ahead of everyone. William sighed and looked at Sebastian and Calis.
“Grab onto my arms both of you and I will take you to my home.”
William said and Sebastian took one of the suit cases under his arm grasping William’s arm in his.
Ronald went over to Anne.
“My Lady, allow me to take those bags.”
Ronald said as he took the bags from Anne.
“Now grab my waist and hang on.”
Ronald said as he lifted into the air and took Anne to William’s home.
Kingsly was sitting on the couch with Ashton in his lap when everyone arrived. Christian had been dropped off at the doorstep of the home by one of the reapers with bags in his hands from his shopping. William frowned at Christian, but allowed him entrance.
Sebastian and Calis were taken to the best guest room William could offer them as they took their bags in the room and Sebastian unpacked their things. The room also had an adjourning bathroom for them to put their toiletries.
Christian was given his bag and took Ashton’s as he was led into a nice room where he and Ashton would be staying. They would have to use the guest bathroom, but that was fine with Christian since he appreciated the hospitality he was offered. He unpacked his and Ashton’s things hoping Ashton would wake up soon.
Anne was taken to another room where she was asked if it was acceptable since William did not really have accommodations for a fine lady such as herself. Most of the rooms were more of a male’s tastes and most had some of the male nude statues gracing them as Kingsly had decorated most of these rooms.
“This room is lovely. I enjoy the male figure and I am used to be surrounded by males most of the time. Thank you so much for your hospitality.”
Anne said to William who then smiled and felt a little better since he was not sure how Anne would feel about so many masculine things surrounding her.
“I am pleased you like it. If there is anything you need please let me know my lady.”
William left her to her unpacking and waited for the two male Angels to finish so they could meet up with Lord Michael.
Sebastian finally came out of the room with Calis who went over to the living room looking around to see if he could find something to read. Going straight over to where William’s library was, Calis gathered a book about violent deaths sitting down with the book and started to read.
Kingsly was so busy trying to get Ashton to wake up he did not notice anyone come out of the bedrooms. He just wanted so much to play with his favorite little cherub.
Christian finally came out of his room and stood next to Sebastian wondering what they were doing next since he was only briefed on part of why they were here. He knew Calis had put them in a bind, but he did not know the magnitude of this situation.
“Well, are you both ready to go?”
William asked as he looked at Sebastian who looked irritated he had to go deal with Michael again. If this had anything to do with his past with Michael, he would leave and tell Michael to fuck off. Sebastian refused to apologize for doing what he felt was right at the time.
“Where are, we going now?”
Christian asked since he was only informed they were coming here.
“We are going to go see Lord Michael.”
William said and Sebastian whispered into Christian’s ear who that was. Christian frowned and backed up.
“No, I am not going to see that bastard. I will not be dragged down into another war again. It was bad enough before and I will not put up with his bullshit.”
Christian protested as Sebastian agreed since he really did not want to go see Michael. The General of God was an overbearing asshole and neither one of them wanted to have anything to do with him.
“We do not even know if that is what he wants Christian. You should at least hear what he has to say.”
William adored the Archangel
Michael. He really wanted to be a part of whatever Michael had to say to these two Angels.
“I don’t care what he wants. I know Michael well enough to know he will want to Lord over me and now that I am free I don’t need that crap.”
Sebastian whispered something else into Christian’s ear. Christian simply nodded and sighed.
“Please give him a chance. If nothing else, you may learn something new that will help you both.”
William practically begged.
“Fine we will go, but if he starts we are out of there.”
Sebastian said as William produced the portal and the three walked through it to into the hall of records. There Michael stood with Raphael. The two were discussing something and briefly turned to acknowledge William and the two Angels.
“Raphael please do a memory extraction on Christian. It should help with this situation since he was the last person to hear Calis’ voice.”
Michael said and Christian backed up as Raphael approached him.
“Christian I am not going to hurt you child. I just need to know what happened and the best way to do this is memory extraction. It will be slightly uncomfortable, but it will not harm you.”
Raphael stated gently as he reached his hand out and placed it on Christian’s head causing the man to fall to his knees as Raphael caught him doing the same as he had done to Sebastian. He gathered more than the necessary information finding Christian’s time with Lucifer was much longer and since he had returned to hell after his death the images were a little fresher.
Lifting Christian into his arms, Raphael held Christian waiting for the man to come to. The information would be useful in their fight and once again the Archangels owed these two Angels much for their information.
“Sebastian, we need to plan for your return to the manor and for your move to Florida. I do not want another incident like this one to occur. If you cannot control Calis, than we need to find someone who can.’
“These cherubs’ lives have been in danger too many times to take this situation lightly. Take this as your first warning. There will not be a second, just know if you fail to protect them I will be in your life a lot more than you wish for me to be.”
Michael said and Sebastian frowned. He was not happy about this and did not want Michael to be in his life at all if possible.
“Should we place more reaper security at both places?”
William asked since they did have some reaper security at Midnight, but it had been a small contingent.
“I believe I will take care of the security. I believe Raphael needs to do a few tests with all the reapers to ensure that any reaper who is possibly going rogue, a spy for the demons, or untrustworthy can be weeded out.”
Michael said since reapers were neutral beings and some too laid back for their own good. Of course, then there was Kingsly who was completely uncontrollable and pretty much a child to the Archangels who gave up on trying to control him. William seemed to be the only one to keep Kingsly from going absolutely crazy.
“I can control Calis and I do not need a bunch of Angels protecting him. Christian and I are fine without your help Michael.”
Sebastian was not pleased with the fact Michael wanted to take over his life again. The last thing they needed was for the servants of heaven to get involved in their lives.
“This isn’t open for debate Sebastian. You will be accepting my help and if you think you can get away from me by diving into hell you have another thing coming. I will take Calis away from you if you choose to be stupid about this. I will keep you and your cherubs from battle, you will have your free will, but you will abide by some rules Sebastian.”
Michael said and Sebastian stood completely pissed off. This was ridiculous. He was not going to live under Michael’s thumb again.
“Sebastian, come with me for a few minutes.”
Raphael led Sebastian away from Michael before there was a problem. Raphael gently laid Christian down on one of the beds in the reaper’s rest area and had Sebastian sit with him while he waited for Christian to awaken.
“Michael hasn’t changed. He is still an overbearing asshole who doesn’t know when to quit.”
Sebastian said angrily to Raphael. Raphael simply chuckled.
“Michael is who he is Sebastian. He simply cares and this is his way of showing it. It may seem like he is trying to take over your life, but what we both really want is for you and the boys to be safe.’
“We cannot completely trust my reapers at this time with your family. We do not know for certain exactly how many reapers still have demons as friends. It would behoove you to have Angels watch over you for a time.”
Raphael said to Sebastian hoping he understood that they were just concerned for the safety of Sebastian and his family.
“Reapers seem to fit in better with the public though Raphael. Angels tend to stick out. My concern is I do not want more attention towards us than we already have.”
Sebastian, felt they already had enough demons after them as it was and Angels were too beautiful to be ignored by demons or humans for long not to mention their purity was easy to detect.
“Actually, the Angels we have in mind are much like you. They can also disguise themselves and seem completely human to demons. We have been making big strides in changing the way we do battle and so forth since times do change.’
“I do have some things for all five of you to protect yourselves with. I would turn you into a grim reaper to give you freedom from Michael if you wished. As a reaper, you would be much safer, but I doubt you wish to spend more time away from Calis than necessary. Reapers lives are very busy.”
Sebastian had thought about becoming a reaper. Reapers were also hard to kill and it would be fun if he did not have Calis. Then again if Sebastian did not have Calis he would go back to being a demon.
“Why is being a demon so appealing to you Sebastian? I read your thoughts so I simply wonder what the charm of such a life is for you.”
Raphael had to know since he would never fall from heaven’s light. He loved being an Archangel and that would not ever change.
“Freedom. I have total freedom to be who I want as a demon when I want without answering to anyone. I don’t have to eat, drink, and souls make me feel alive. I enjoyed taking them. I enjoyed my life.’
“There is also immeasurable power. Power to rip apart my own kind, Angels, humans, and even if not kill reapers to tear them to shreds without regret. I have regret now; I did not so much before. I also hate the peaceful feeling I have inside; it makes me feel less free as though I belong to someone still.”
Sebastian said and Raphael nodded.
“We trained you to be a killer and you enjoy killing for the mere joy of it. I understand that. You may still do so if you think about it. There is still a lot of evil in this world.’
“I too feel regret, but for things you would never understand Sebastian. If that is the worst thing, than I see no point into becoming a demon since as an Angel I already have immeasurable power and can rip apart anyone on a whim. I also have freedom to an extent I am satisfied with. Perhaps you just need something to do to keep you entertained. I can offer that. In fact, I have.”
Sebastian knew Raphael was talking about the assignments he had given to him. Checking out things like paranormal activity and strange murders.
“Well, I shall leave you with Christian. When he wakes, talk to him about the paranormal research and such. We shall pretty much leave you to yourselves, but know that if the cherubs come into danger again we will indeed be in your lives more than you would like.”
Raphael walked away and Sebastian waited for Christian to awaken. He wanted to get back to Calis and soon. There had to be a way to control that voice of his without luring demons. If there was only a way to change it so that demons would pass out, but then demons might try to kill Calis. As long as the boy had value to demons he would be safe from death, not necessarily from torture, but from death.
Christian slowly came to and opened his eyes looking at Sebastian wishing they were anywhere else but here. His head hurt and he couldn’t move to save his life.
“Christian it will wear off in about ten minutes. Then you should be able to sit up and then it takes another few minutes to walk. Hopefully they will not need us for anything else.”
Sebastian said and Christian nodded as he looked up at the ceiling finding no flaws in it to stare at to try and fix with his mind. There were no little dots to count either. It was flat, white, and boring so instead Christian looked at Sebastian.
“All they wanted were my memories. They could have simply asked me. I would have gladly told them anything they wanted to know. What an utter waste of time.”
