Reapers and Angels

  “I love you Kingsly.”

William said as he kissed that soft pale shoulder.

  “I love you to William.”

Kingsly held his lover and husband. It was a perfect night and the two held each other for the longest time before pulling away to dress for their trip. Kingsly wore a strappy red dress with a long flowing skirt that went just past his knees. Kingsly put his falsies back on to give the illusion of breasts although he preferred his pudding filled balloons since they felt more real than the falsies William bought him.

William put on a nice pair of slacks and a coral polo golf shirt since the flight would be not too long and this was the first time the reapers would actually be traveling as humans. The two were going to take an airplane for the first time in their lives, first class all the way.

Everyone thought they were nuts since traveling as humans meant they had to go through security and all sorts of nonsense, but William wanted this to be an adventure. They always traveled by reaper methods so it would be fun to do something different.

As they disappeared from the reaper world through a portal, they went to the front door of Midnight knocking on the door so it looked like they were merely guests coming for a visit. William had a car coming to pick them up, but he wanted to talk to the Archangels first to find out when they felt Sebastian, Calis, Christian, Anne, and Ashton could return to Midnight.

After knocking for a few minutes, they realized no one was answering so they assumed the Archangels had left for the night. Either way they had a car coming for them so they waited as they watched in the darkness for anything unusual. There were demons around, but they seemed to be ignoring them for now.

As it got darker, William was starting to feel a bit nervous like something was really wrong. Then two demons approached them.

“You two are reapers. What are reapers doing here?”

One of the demons asked William who frowned at the demon who dared to come so close to him and his wife.

“We are friends with the people who live here. It isn’t like you do not know this so why are you bothering us demon scum?”

William sneered since he could smell the foul stench of the demon and see what he really was. It was repulsive.

  “William do not provoke them.”

Kingsly said since they currently did not have back up and there were several demons in the area.

“Yes, listen to your woman reaper. Besides we took care of your so-called friends. They won’t be around anymore to bother with. I know that voice came from this house though so why don’t you both do me a favor and sing otherwise I will rape your woman.”

The demon said as he looked Kingsly over licking his lips.

“You so much as touch my wife and I will tear your head off!”

William snarled out as he readied his scythe. William never left home without it.

Kingsly gathered his scythe just in case and hoped that these demons would back off. Reapers did not have Angelic voices so whatever game these two were playing at wouldn’t work.

“Hey Gordy! Leave the reapers be!”

A demon yelled as some reapers started to congregate into the area. Now there were as many reapers as there were demons, but the demon in question did not take the warning as he swiftly grabbed Kingsly about his waist knocking the scythe out of the reaper’s grip.

As the demon went to take off with Kingsly, William elongated his scythe boring a hole straight through the demon’s head as blood spurt out right onto Kingsly who was kicking and punching the demon to let him go. At that all hell broke loose and demons started attacking reapers.

Kingsly gathered his scythe off the ground and frowned at his ruined dress. He was furious as he started going absolutely crazy attacking demon after demon chopping off heads as demons screamed in frustration. However, things were getting even worse as more demons arrived overwhelming the reapers. Midnight grounds were now covered in blood from demons and reapers. The reapers were holding the demons off, but it was a struggle and it wasn’t until Angels started to arrive on the scene that the demons started to back off.

Raphael arrived with a group of Angels including Christian and Sebastian. Sebastian was ripping apart demons as quickly as they came at him although his wings were getting rather badly damaged as the demons threw their weapons aiming for those beautiful white wings which were part of an Angel’s power.

Christian was throwing hundreds of golden knives at the demons fighting from the sky, but soon fell into the crowds only for Sebastian to save him from having his wings ripped off as the demons surrounded the fallen Angel going straight for his wings.

Raphael sent massive waves of power out and as demons confronted him he burned them alive with his stare. His scythe cut through each demon like butter and soon there was nothing but bodies of demons littering the ground.

  “Where are Uriel and Gabriel?”

William asked Raphael who stood looking at the massacre.

“They are safe. We left human puppets in the mansion that the demons killed last night. They killed the humans around this area unfortunately so the reapers had been in this area anyway. I don’t know what provoked them to attack you, but they are getting rather desperate. We know there are more coming, but I am assuming they are pretty much done in this area. They assume every human is dead in this location. I believe we will give it two more months before the family can return to their home to pack and move.”

Raphael said as he looked at his Angels who were all doing fine other than a few ripped wings. Sebastian and Christian were worse off than the rest of them since they were directly in the battle, but they would heal.

  “William my dress is ruined!”

Kingsly sobbed as he looked at his blood-soaked gown. William also noted his clothing was soaked in the blood of demons.

“Let me take care of that.”

Raphael said as he did a quick spell so that Kingsly and William’s clothing was cleaned.

“I do believe you had a honeymoon planned. I hope that you still can enjoy it.”

Raphael stated as he also used his powers to clean the grounds of the bodies. Sebastian and Christian walked over to William and Kingsly.

“Well, my punishment is to fight in the war with Christian. I did not want this, but things could be worse. Just be safe both of you and I never got the chance to kiss the bride.”

Sebastian said as he took Kingsly into his arms dipping him then kissing him on the lips giving Kingsly the kiss he had waited his whole life for. Kingsly had to fan himself as Sebastian stood him up since he was feeling rather faint. That kiss was very good, but still did not compare to one of William’s fabulous kisses.

William put his arm around Kingsly and smirked at Sebastian.

“Do behave yourself Sebastian. I do not wish for you to be punished further.”

William said as he adjusted his glasses and waited for the car to arrive. They had about another ten minutes.

“Calis knew I was going to do that to Kingsly so don’t worry about it William. You look beautiful by the way, the both of you and I hope you are both happy.’

“Why don’t you come into my home and wait? There is no point in all of us waiting outside.”

Sebastian stated and Raphael shook his head no.

“You don’t want to go in there Sebastian. Not until we have cleansed the place. It is teaming with traps and vengeful spirits. The demons did a number on all these homes and I doubt you want to see the mess they left behind. It would make your dear Calis weep if not you.”

Raphael led the group away from the house.

“We shall hide our wings and wait with you for your ride. I do not wish for you to have any further issues.”

Raphael said since he did not want more demons to attack the area.

“Thank you, my Lord, I appreciate that.”

William said since it was indeed dark out and he had hoped for a better parting than this.

  Sebastian just frowned wantin
g to go see inside of Midnight. He prided himself on how clean he had that house and Raphael had promised that Midnight would not be the center of war nor get damaged. Now that this had happened both was a lie, but Sebastian had known that was a possibility anyway. It just chapped Sebastian’s hide a bit to know his beloved Midnight Manor was damaged in any way.

“Don’t worry Sebastian, your home will be in pristine shape when you return. It is also a nice touch for the demons to leave us vengeful spirits since we can send them to the appropriate locations. The reapers will enjoy this part of their work.”

Raphael said and Kingsly sighed. It had been a long time since he got to deal with the spirit portion of the job. It was always such pleasure at sending spirits to their restful place. It was mainly a matter of burning the bodies of the deceased and salting them. Reapers could also talk to spirits so it wasn’t a dull moment especially when the spirit wanted to fight back. Those battles were fun, but the reaper always won.

“When you get back Kingsly, as a gift for your wedding I shall allow you to help with spirit retrieval if you would like after you deliver all the messages for the day.”

Raphael said and Kingsly smiled widely. It would be such fun compared to clean up duty.

“Oh, thank you my Lord! Can Ronald help?”

  Kingsly gushed in excitement.

“Of course, he has to help with the cleanup duty here anyway.”

Kingsly did a little happy dance. William smirked at Kingsly and then the car finally arrived.

“Enjoy yourselves and do take a lot of pictures to share with us.”

Sebastian said as the two got into the car. Sebastian then left with Christian and Raphael back to the hall of records where Calis and Ashton were enjoying the hors d'oeuvres and punch from the wedding. They also had a huge slice of the cake each.

Kingsly had already thrown the bouquet and Anne caught it with Kingsly telling her to keep it. The flowers would go bad on their trip, but of course William had plans for a rose a day for Kingsly while in Hawaii.

Sebastian had caught the garter from Kingsly’s leg that William had taken off with his teeth much to the shock of the reapers who never thought William would be that bold in front of everyone. William now of course was considered the Casanova of the reaper community and everyone wanted to know his secrets.

Soon things died down at the party, so Sebastian figured it was time to take the boys home. It was getting late and Calis was pretty worn out.

Raphael took the form of the Grim Reaper when around the other reapers and Ripley was busy talking to him. It was surprising the rogue reaper was out so late, but Ripley insisted on staying so he could talk with Christian and the Grim Reaper. The man had been laughing most of the night and dancing enjoying himself immensely. His only gripe had been he had no date for the event. Then again with as strange as the man was the only woman who seemed to be intrigued by him was Anne.

Anne had danced with Ripley most of the night and the old reaper was smitten with her. He told her once that for a live woman she was exquisite, but he preferred his women dead. Anne told Ripley she wasn’t really alive, she was an Angel and Angels were basically like demons and reapers.

Ripley loved Angels as much as any reaper and had set up a date with Anne who was pleased to go out with him. Christian was a bit unsure about Anne dating Ripley, but as long as the reaper behaved himself he did not have an issue with it. The man was probably just lonely.

Sebastian finally said enough was enough and it was time to go. Calis was about out cold sitting in a chair trying to stay awake with Ashton stuffing his face with another slice of cake. The boy had so much sugar it was going to be surprising if Christian did get him to sleep. Ashton was mainly eating the frosting since the boy loved frosting.

Christian politely excused himself from a conversation with Ronald and went over to the table taking Ashton’s plate away from him stating enough with the frosting. The boy was going to be on a sugar rush and then crash badly.

Sebastian lifted Calis into his arms and carried the boy over to where the Grim Reaper and Ripley were talking.

“I am sorry to interrupt, but the four of us are ready to go. I believe it is very late for these immortal children to be up.”

Sebastian said as he held a half awake Calis.

“Of course, excuse me a minute Ripley. I do wish to discuss more with you so do not leave my old friend.”

Raphael created the portal as the small family left through it to enter William and Kingsly’s home.

When Sebastian got to his and Calis’s bedroom he noted the boy was so light he might just float away. The child was frighteningly thin and Sebastian worried since Calis had not stopped coughing since they had left.

Sebastian undressed his little love and then realized how much damage he had done to the boy. Tears poured down Sebastian’s face as he could see Calis’s rib bones since the skin was so transparent. His little husband had starved himself and was still so ill. It was his fault too.

“Oh Calis……What have you done to yourself little one?”

Sebastian whispered out as he carefully removed the rest of Calis’s clothing and placed Calis into his night clothes. He was so afraid he might break Calis even with a mere touch since the child was so very fragile.

Coughs racked that little body and Sebastian went over in his mind things that might help to make Calis feel better. He sat the boy up in the bed propping him up with pillows so that breathing could be easier and wished he had a humidifier in the room.

Sebastian then heard meowing in the room and saw the cat that he had brought in climb up the bed and cuddle next to Calis who proceeded to pet the thing before coughing again.

For the first time in Sebastian’s life, he ignored a cat and picked it up placing it on the floor afraid it might hurt his little Calis as it had been digging its claws into the boy kneading his chest while Calis had been petting it.

“What did you move Libby for?”

Calis asked since he was shocked that Sebastian moved the cat and was ignoring it.

“It was clawing at your little chest my love. I don’t want you damaged.”

Sebastian said and Calis once again coughed rather roughly only for Libby to get back up on the bed and lay next to Calis who once again pet the thing as it lay there purring happily at his side.

“Libby doesn’t hurt me Sebastian. She is declawed so I don’t know why she was out on her own like she was. She was lucky to survive.”

Calis said since both Libby’s front and back claws were declawed. Sebastian was shocked to say the least since the cat was indeed lucky not to have been harmed, but then it was odd for a cat to be in the reaper community. Libby had to belong to someone around here for her to be wandering about.

Sebastian removed his clothing and climbed into bed checking Calis to make sure the boy was comfortable. He gave up most of his pillows to insure Calis was sitting up so that when he coughed it would be less painful, plus it would help the boy breathe easier.

Calis felt Sebastian’s arms around him and it did help him sleep better although the coughing at times would wake him. Calis felt safe and warm. He stopped having the nightmares about Sebastian leaving him and instead tonight he dreamed of when he saw Sebastian for the first time when he returned from his training. He saw the look of love in his beloved’s eyes and although not a word had been said Calis knew now that everything would be ok.

Sebastian could not sleep. He worried all night for Calis and tried not to sob at what Calis had done to himself. The boy was already so tiny and Calis was now almost a little skeleton. His Calis was so precious to him and Sebastian knew he would never wish to live if Calis died. He had to make up for everything he had done somehow.

Calis coughed rather roughly on and off throughout the night with Sebastian double checking on his love to insure he was all right. He wished there was something he could do about that cough and prayed putting his healing light into the boy which seemed to help a
little.

When morning came, Sebastian climbed out of bed, got dressed, and went to the kitchen to cook breakfast for his beloved. He found a nice soothing Chamomile tea and added lemon as well as a bit of honey to it. He also made a hot cereal for Calis, soft foods were best for a sore throat and he created a big enough bowl of the cereal that he hoped that the tiny boy could eat it all. Calis needed weight on him and fast.

Bringing the bowl of cereal and the tea on a tray into the bedroom, Sebastian gently awoke Calis who had Libby at this point on top of his head. The cat moved during the night to sleep and it was rather amusing to Sebastian who wanted to take a picture of the cat on Calis’ head.

Sebastian moved Libby off Calis’ head and set her down on the end of the bed. Then he proceeded to help his love eat and drink. Calis insisted he could do it on his own, but Sebastian wanted to feed his beloved and help him drink.
