I blushed, thinking about all that was happening. He was serious about this, totally serious. I felt a bit nervous though, unsure of what I’d be doing next. He finally looked at the president.
“Mr. President, I know that I’m not Remi. Remi is off on our home planet, and I’m the one in charge, but I do ask that we establish a bond to work together, to make it all seem right, and to definitely get what we need completed,” Jives said.
“And, sir, I know that I’m new here as well. I’m not a fighter, but I want to fight with Jives here in order to save everyone,” I said.
“That’s fine. I appreciate that,” he told me.
There was a pause, and then, someone came forward.
“By the way, I wanted to say that there was an announcement from the local prison. An escaped convict is on the loose, and I wonder if he’s a part of this whole mess,” one of the people said.
I tensed. Why did that sound like a bad thing? It was then when I ventured to ask.
“What was his name?” I asked.
“Brad. He was in prison for embezzlement and fraud. He escaped, and there is word that he’s joined up with the scientist in order to fight the people of Earth,” one of the aliens said.
I almost fainted right then and there. Holy shit. This was insane. I began to look at Jives, who seemed to know exactly what was going on.
“That is my ex. I can’t believe he’s working with Jives’ father,” I told them.
“Well, that’s the report that we’ve gotten. If we get anything else we’ll keep you updated,” one of the aliens said.
I turned to Jives, and he seemed to be thinking the same thing. We had a lot of work to do, a lot that we’d need to figure out for ourselves, and I had a feeling that all of this was about to get even worse, and that I’d have to go up against my past, and so would he.
After the meeting, Jives motioned for me to come to his office. When we got there, he sat down, looking at me with concern.
“I know that you’re going to see your ex there. He probably has figured out that I’m behind most of this, hence why I was able to put him away. But, I want to ask, Tracey, will you be okay with this? No matter what happens, will it be all right?” he asked me.
I tensed, slightly unsure of the answer to that. I shrugged, feeling all of the eyes on me.
“I don’t know. I really don’t know,” I told him.
“I understand. Well, if you need help, in any way possible, I’m here for you. If you want to back out now, you totally can,” he admitted.
I didn’t want to back out. I knew that this wouldn’t be easy for either of us, but I felt ready for it, ready for the future, and ready for one another. I began to pull him close, embracing him, and the two of us hugged tightly. I shivered, enjoying the sweet feeling of his body against my own.
“Don’t worry, babe, I’ll be here for you. I don’t care if it is risky, and that I’ll have to see him once again. I know that I’m here for you, for all that you’ve done, and I certainly know that I am ready for whatever is to come,” I told him.
“Good. I am as well,” he said to me.
Both of us hugged one another tightly, and I felt the excitement of it all. I started to shiver, the anticipation of this moment flooding through my head. I felt nervous, unsure of what to make of this, and most of all scared of what was to come, but I definitely did know one thing was for sure: We’d have one hell of a fight on our hands, and we’d have to work together.
“Love will conquer all. I’m sure of this,” I told him.
“I am as well. Let’s take back what is ours, and let’s make this the fight that we win, the one that will determine all of our fates,” he told me.
I nodded, hugging him tightly. I didn’t want to leave, but eventually I had to. Both of us parted shortly after this, ready to fight for our love, and for the future.
Chapter 9
~Jives~
I felt happy to have Tracey by my side. I didn’t even know why, it just felt so right. After a little while, I started to feel the blush pass over my face. Tracey called a whole hell of a lot for me, and I certainly did notice that within her. After a while, I got everything ready.
We’d leave for his base first thing tomorrow. We’d leave bright and early to hide our trail. I asked her to come over so that I could give her everything that she needed. She’d have the standard ray gun, and I’d have my powers. I knew that with us working together this would all be a lot better.
I knew this was it, time for me to prove myself, and time for me to give her what I feel is right. I mean, I didn’t need to use anything to fight these monsters. I had my own power. I didn’t want anyone to see it unless they had to though. That’s why I decided to only have Tracey come. Not only that, she’s got that pesky ex to deal with.
After all of this, I managed to finally get a bit of sleep. It was rough, tossing and turning all night. In the morning, I finally got myself together, heading out to where Tracey was. When I got there, she was in a crisp, black bodysuit that hugged her curves. I blushed, looking her over and smiling.
“You look great,” I told her.
“Thanks,” she replied.
I couldn’t help but stare at her. She was so gorgeous and I couldn’t help but love looking at her.
We made our way over to the ship that I had chartered. We’d go almost all the way over to where the base was, and then we’d go the rest of the way on foot. I felt both excited and extremely nervous. I didn’t want Tracey to get hurt, but I also knew that she could take care of herself, and when the time was right, she’d do just that.
“I hope this works,” I told her. We walked for a little bit, neither of us saying much to one another. It certainly felt tense, that’s for sure. I wanted to ask her about it, but it was obvious she didn’t feel like talking all that much. When we got to the lair, which was bigger than I imagined, I stepped to the front of the doorway, looking at it to see if there was anything that needed to be dismantled.
“Are we good?” I asked her.
“Yeah. As best as I can be. I think—”
Before she could say much else, a laser popped up, causing her to fall back in shock. I looked around, and that’s when I saw it.
“Heat-sensitive lasers,” I told myself. This wasn’t going to be easy, that’s for sure. I began to press my fingers to my temple, trying my best to figure out how to get past this.
“Where do you think we should go?” she asked me.
“Let’s go around the back. I have a feeling not every entrance is bugged. My father isn’t that smart,” I told her.
Sure enough, I was right. He was dumb enough to not only leave a way for us to track him, but also leave us an unguarded entrance as well. I began to move myself over to where the entrance was, checking it out once again. This time, I used my own body as a means to test it. It was fine this time.
“We’re good,” I told her.
“Thank God,” she said, wiping the sweat from her brow.
It was pretty cute seeing her try to help me like this. On the one hand, I feared that she might get hurt but, on the other, she seemed so interested in trying to help that I didn’t want to stop her. She followed me inside, and soon we were going down a tunnel. I began to watch for any signs of other people, but unfortunately, there was nothing.
“This is weird. Normally I’d expect more security,” I told her.
“Maybe they’re waiting,” she said.
Maybe so. But, I didn’t have time to wait. After a little bit, I finally got down to a fork in the road. I looked at her, and she looked at me.
“What now?” she asked.
“We have to choose one way or another,” I told her with a sigh.
She looked around, and that’s when she started to press her ear to the wall, hearing the sounds.
“Go left,” she said.
“How do you know?” I asked her.
“I can practically feel the vibrations from here. Most don’t know, but
I have special powers that do just that. I know Brad is this way, and I know that when I see him, I’ll have to stop him,” she admitted.
I wanted to tell her she didn’t have to do anything, but she looked at me with complete and utter determination, and I smiled. I could already tell that this was going to be mighty interesting. I started to feel a bit nervous about this, and I could tell she was as well. We walked together, both of us looking at one another with smiles on our face.
This was going to be quite interesting.
When we got about halfway down, I started to notice something there. There was this slime monster, one that seemed almost unlike anything I expected to see before. It looked at me, and then it let out a cry, preparing for attack. I looked at Tracey, who had her gun out.
“Do you want to take this one out, or want me to?” I asked her.
“I want to,” she said.
I watched with slight concern, wondering how she’d do with this. Fortunately, she was pretty great at this, and she began to shoot at the creature. It took a few shots, but then she started to fire it harder and harder, hitting the creature directly. When she did, it cried out, falling down to the ground and flailing about. I looked at it with quite surprise, and she then pocketed the gun.
“There we go,” she said.
“You did well,” I told her with a smile on my face. I was glad I could trust her with this. After that, we went forward, and she did the same with more of the creatures we encountered as we went on by. I was surprised she could hold her ground. Whenever she had one that got too close for comfort, making her feel worried, I braced myself, using my arms to swat it away. She did well though, and we continued to run down the hall, taking out more and more of the creatures at hand. With each creature we defeated, I felt as if we were getting closer, but it was at this point when we both realized it. Over in the corner, I noticed something, something that I’d rather not deal with.
It was a familiar face, a humanoid one that Tracey and I both knew, but he looked different..
It was Brad.
Brad was right there, waiting for us. I could tell that she feared this. I didn’t blame her. This was her fight though, and while I did swear to protect her, I knew that she’d have to do this on her own. When we got there, she glanced at me, and then turned to Brad.
“I’ve got this. I need to finish him off. You’ve got your own agenda. I’ll meet up with you once this is over. I know where your father is. Just continue down this hall, and then go left at the next intersection,” she said.
“Okay. Good luck. If you need anything, scream. I’ll try to hear,” I told her.
“Okay,” she replied.
I felt bad for leaving her, but as I left the scene, I could see the look of utter determination in her eyes, the desire to beat this. It was all present on her face. I knew that this was her fight, not my own, and I trusted my lover enough to fight this bastard and get rid of him now while she had the chance.
~Tracey~
When I saw Brad there, I knew who it was, even though I didn’t immediately recognize him. When he was a human, he had a very recognizable face, but now I only saw him because of a few features. He certainly changed, and not for the better.
He looked like a monster. That’s honestly how I saw it. A big, fat monster. He looked so different from what I thought I’d see, and I immediately felt bad. I mean, he changed for the worse, that’s for sure. His normally human-like features had become monstrous, probably a sign of all the experimentation. He had a human face, but almost a grotesque body. Unlike Jives, who was also a creature like this, Brad didn’t look like he was supposed to be this way, he looked like he was a failed experiment or something. A part of me pitied the guy, but there was another part of me that wanted nothing more than to get the revenge that I needed to help quell the pain that I felt, and the anger that surfaced within me.
I still thought about what he did to me. Some might say that this was payback for it, and while I did pity him to a degree, at the same time I felt almost as if this was my calling, my calling to do away with him completely. He looked at me, and I readied myself.
“It’s you,” he simply said.
“Hey there. How’s it going?” I said.
“So, you’re with that alien, huh? I’ve heard about him. He’s nothing but bad news,” he told me with a snarl.
“So you think. He’s actually very important to me Brad. And he cares about me. So how did you hook up with his father then? Did he bust you out of prison?” I asked.
“Yes. He saved my life. I managed to get out of that shithole so fucking fast. And now, it’s time for me to fucking kill you,” he said.
He launched himself at me, and I readied my gun, shooting a few rounds at him. They ricocheted off of him though, and he seemed flustered by this. He began to move closer to me, dodging each and every one.
“You bitch!” he cried out.
It was then when he attacked. I barely moved out of the way in time. I knew for a fact that this was going to be a lot harder than I imagined. However, I did manage to move past the first blow. But that was just the first one, and this only would get harder as time passed.
“You... I’ll kill you!” he screamed out.
He lunged at me, trying desperately to hit me with all of his might. I tried to move out of the way, and I did manage to do so a few times, but then I hit the wall. I slumped against it, grabbing my gun and shooting at Brad. But it was no use.
He grabbed me by the throat, pulling me up in the air. I tried to kick at him, but the angle was far too much, and he was holding me back. He smirked, and I glared at him.
“You’ll never win,” I told him.
“Oh, I will. This is for everything. For meeting that man, for ruining my fucking life, and for being a stupid bitch. You came all the way here for this, and I’m going to fuck you up. Oh, I’m going to love fucking you up,” he said.
He punched me hard in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me. It was already a struggle to breathe, and I tried to kick at him, but it was no use. He was too far away. I was struggling to even stay alive. I kicked, screaming out loud at the feelings that I had. I started to move my legs up, barely touching him. But then, he grabbed it, holding onto it tightly and twisting.
I screamed. I thought he was going to break it. He just might. He held it there, and I cried out in utter pain.
“You look so good right now. Screaming, writhing in pain, all of this. I just love it,” he said.
I was going to die here. There was no way out of this. I closed my eyes, saying a small prayer for myself, I hoped that someone would save me. I could feel the pressure against my trachea, holding me almost lifeless there. Would he come to save me? Would this be the end? I didn’t know, but I hoped more than anything that there was a sign, somewhere out there, that would tell me if I would live or not.
~Jives~
I’m so happy I didn’t leave the room.
I went towards the exit, but I had a bad feeling about this. I stayed back, much to my relief, for I knew that Brad wasn’t going to make this easy. They fought, and I was right. He was of a different world, a different caliber, and she seemed to be struggling. I wanted to help her, but I wanted to see how this would play out first.
The two of them were squaring off, and she held her ground well. Then, Brad changed, and it was obvious what she had to do now. He attacked her, holding her there, and I immediately felt my body spring into action. I wasn’t going to let this guy kill her.
I rushed in, seeing his hand straight up against her throat, holding her there against the wall. Her lifeless body was suspended, and I felt fear start to loom over my own body. I didn’t want her to die. That was the last thing I wanted. I rushed over there, looking straight at them, and that’s when I did it.
I grabbed him, holding him tightly and throwing him against the wall. She fell to the ground with a thud, sputtering and coughing. She looked up at me, slightly annoyed by my presence.
&
nbsp; “I thought you left,” she stated.
“I did, but I had a bad feeling about this. It’s a good thing that I didn’t though,” I told her with a smile on my face.
She seemed slightly frustrated that I didn’t leave. Maybe it was because she didn’t think that I’d stick around and actually help. I rushed into there, fighting Brad with all of my strength.
He got up shortly after, and soon, both of us glared at one another.
“I’m going to kill you for what you just did,” he said to me.
“I’d love to see you try,” I told him with a smile.
Both of us lunged at one another, attacking without any stops or boundaries. I started to move my hands up, swatting at the other man, and he did the same. He then grasped my hands, pulling me there and throwing me down.
I underestimated him. He was using his power. But it wasn’t a pure form, not like mine. He was a lab rat, and this was the product of it.
I got up, holding my arms. I started to transform, changing into the monstrous creature that I was. Brad looked at me, changing as well, but his form wasn’t pure, nor was it something that looked completely enjoyable. He looked like he was struggling to even maintain it. I lunged at him, purple energy starting to form, and soon, I punched him square in the stomach with it. He grimaced, crying out loud as he started to fall back. I started to move my hands up, hitting him with every single motion that I could. I wouldn’t stand for this bastard hurting her, that’s for sure. I began to swat at him, pushing my hands up, and he did the same.
The two of us were fighting, not stopping at all. I continued to push my hands towards him, kicking and hitting him. Tracey did manage to finally get up, looking at the sight.
I could tell what she wanted to do. She wanted to kill him. She wanted to deliver the final blow, which was totally okay with me. I looked at her, and she marched on over. I pushed my hands against his throat.
“Well, any last words?” I asked Brad.
“You’ll… never win,” he told me.
