  “Partially. Just take it out.”

Joey grabbed a black strap and lifted out a harness with a red dildo hanging from it.

  “Oh, my. I like.”

“See? This short knobby end goes in you while you wear it.” Samantha pointed to one end of the toy.

“Yes, I figured as much.” She stood and stepped into the harness, inserting one end of the dildo inside.

Samantha stared at Joey’s hard cock and absently stroked herself.

“You look so fucking hot,” she said.

“So do you.” Joey ran her hand over her shaft.

“I bet that feels good,” Samantha said.

“I bet what you’re doing does, too.”

“It does. I’m so wet for you. Are you ready to fuck me?”

Before Joey could get on the bed, Samantha had climbed up onto her hands and knees, legs spread slightly.

“I want to feel you deep,” she said.

Joey knelt behind her and guided the tip of her cock to Samantha’s waiting pussy, but she quickly moved it away. She leaned into her, running the length of the toy between her legs, letting the tip glide over her clit to tease it. She leaned back and forth, rubbing it against her.

“It’s not nice to tease,” Samantha chastised her.

  “But it’s fun.”

“I need you inside me. I want you to bury that thing all the way inside me.”

Joey drew the cock back along Samantha and maneuvered it so its tip was pressing against her opening.

“Please. I need you in me.”

Joey eased the dildo inside an inch or two, then withdrew it before sliding it in a little further and pulling it out again.

“Seriously? I’m about to rip the toy out of the harness and fuck myself with it!”

Joey just laughed as she plunged the toy in as deep as it would go, her thighs against Samantha.

  “Like that?”

  “Yes! Do that again, please!”

Joey rocked back and took the cock almost completely out before filling Samantha again. She repeated her actions, slowly at first, but with greater speed as her own body responded to the attention it was getting. Her clit was being rubbed with each thrust and she was struggling for control as she continued to wield the cock.

She bent over Samantha, pressing her breasts into her back and reached around to find her clit slick and engorged.

“Oh, fuck, baby. You feel like you’re ready to explode.”

  “Come with me?” Samantha said.

Joey couldn’t answer. She felt Samantha’s clit throbbing then lost her ability to focus as her own orgasm robbed her of awareness of anything but the pleasure that washed over her. She collapsed on Samantha, spent from the force of the climax.

“Now you can thank me for your birthday present,” Samantha said.

  “Mm hm.”

  “Are you alive?”

“Barely.” Joey eased herself off of Samantha, slowly drawing her cock out as she did. She rolled next to her, still trying to catch her breath.

“That was fucking amazing,” she managed.

“It was pretty wonderful. And you didn’t do so bad for an old woman.”

  “Was that necessary?”

“Yes, it was.” She snuggled up against Joey.

  “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

  “I’m lucky you think so.”

  “That I do.”

“So what do you have planned for today?” Samantha asked.

“Not a damned thing. Mel will probably want to catch some waves, but that about covers it for me. Why?”

“Just wondering. Hey, maybe I can meet you and Mel at The Shack for dinner?”

  “That sounds good.”

“Let’s get dressed and I’ll take you to Nature’s Bounty for breakfast.”

“Oh man, an omelet sounds great.” She swung her feet over the edge of the bed. “Shit! I don’t have any clothes.”

“That’s right. Well, put on your grimy clothes and we’ll stop by your place so you can change.”

“I’ll tell you what,” Joey said after she was dressed. “I’ll swing home and change and we’ll meet for breakfast in half an hour.”

“Am I ever going to see your place?”

“I suppose it’s inevitable. But I plan to postpone it as long as I can.”

  “What’s wrong with it? Seriously.”

“It’s a sty, babe. I mean, it’s thrashed. Maybe someday I’ll clean it and then I’ll invite you over.”

“Why not let me clean it?”

  “That’s not about to happen.”

  “Why not?”

“It’s just not. Now let’s not argue. I’ll head home and we’ll meet at the restaurant.”

She kissed Samantha and turned to leave.

“Excuse me, but you’re forgetting something.” Samantha held up the harness and toy.

“That’s staying here.” Joey grinned. “I won’t need it anywhere else.”

  Chapter Eighteen

“Are you about ready for dinner?” Mel asked as she and Joey bobbed on their boards. The waves had died down, and the fog was beginning to edge in from the horizon.

  “I’m meeting Samantha for dinner.”

“What time? Because I’m getting cold, and the waves just aren’t here anymore.”

  Joey checked her watch.

“Oh shit. I had no idea it was this late. Let’s dry off, then I’ll have to go.”

They sat on their towels with other towels wrapped around them as they stared out at the ocean.

“What’s it like being thirty?” Mel asked.

“Seriously? It’s like being twenty-nine with a day added on.”

“So, no earth shattering, monumental revelations this morning?”

  “Please.”

“How am I supposed to know? I’m not there yet.”

“You really think you wake up one day and you feel different than you have in the past?”

“It could happen. I mean, you’ve changed a lot in the last month or so, anyway.”

“It’s not that I’ve changed, really. I’m still me.”

  “With a girlfriend.”

  “Well, there’s that.”

“And a kid on the way.”

“That has nothing to do with getting older, though. That’s all about finding the right woman.”

“You really believe she’s the one, don’t you?”

“I wouldn’t be with her if I didn’t.” Joey looked at her watch again. “We should get going.”

They got their things and crossed the sand.

“What the hell,” Joey said. “It looks like everyone in town decided to have dinner at The Shack tonight.”

“No kidding. The place looks packed.”

  “I wonder what’s going on.”

They stowed their boards in Mel’s van and slipped some sweatshirts on.

“I guess I’ll see you later,” Joey said.

“I think I’ll come inside and say hi to Samantha.”

They entered the restaurant to a resounding cry of, “Surprise!”

Joey looked around at the black balloons hanging from the ceiling and took in the crowd that had clearly gathered in her honor. She sought out Samantha and found her beaming at a back table. Joey quickly crossed the room to her.

“You are a devious one, aren’t you?”

  “Is that a bad thing?”

“No. I just need to keep my eye on you.”

“There’s lots of you I want on me.”

Joey pulled her close and kissed her.

  “I’m happy to oblige.”

The crowd moved in on them, with everyone wishing Joey a happy birthday. When they finally sat down and ordered burgers, Joey looked around the restaurant and realized every table was taken by her friends.

“Did you reserve the place or something?”

  “I did.”

“I didn’t realize this was the kind of place one could rent out for events.”

&n
bsp; “Well, they were happy to do this. This town really likes you, Joey.”

“Still. This must have cost you a fortune.”

“Not really. And I was happy to do it.”

Joey stared hard at Samantha, realizing that there was still much about her she didn’t know. She knew she came from money and had been a successful attorney, but she really had no idea how well off she was. She wasn’t sure how she felt about it.

“What’s up, handsome?” Samantha was watching her.

“Nothing. I was just thinking I may have found me a sugar mama.”

“Oh, I hope that’s not what I am.”

“You’re not. Although I think you may have a lot more money than I realized.”

“I’m not obsessed with money, Joey. So please don’t you be.”

Joey made good money working for Brenda. She certainly wasn’t in the poor house. But she was sure she couldn’t compete with Samantha.

“I mean it, Joey,” Samantha said.

“No worries.” Joey smiled and kissed her.

Brenda and Liz wandered over and the festive mood returned. Soon everyone was eating and drinking and Joey was basking in the love from her community. She and Samantha got separated in the crowd, but Joey kept an eye on her. She loved watching Samantha interact with others. She was so graceful and beautiful, and Joey couldn’t help but be proud to be in a relationship with her.

She watched as Samantha worked her way back through the crowd toward her. She opened her arms and embraced her, smiling at the happiness she’d finally found. She held Samantha to her until she felt something wet on her shirt.

“What the hell?” She backed away and looked at the wet spots.

“Oh, my God,” Samantha exclaimed, folding her arms across her chest.

“What?” Joey asked. “What’s going on?”

Tiffany’s mom had been watching from a nearby table and quickly grabbed some napkins. She pulled Samantha into the bathroom, leaving Joey dumbfounded.

Mel was next to her in a minute.

  “What was that all about?”

  “Hell if I know.”

  “Is she okay?”

“I hope so. I’m totally lost here. Should I follow them?”

Before Mel could answer, Samantha emerged from the bathroom.

“I’m afraid I need to go home,” she said.

“What’s going on? What happened? Why are our shirts wet? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, just a little embarrassed and more than a little uncomfortable.”

“I hear that.” Joey was trying to dry the spots on her shirt. She started toward the door. “Let’s go then.”

Many of the townswomen had gathered around Samantha and were hugging her and chatting with her. Joey recognized that most of the women were parents. She wondered why they were suddenly drawn to her girlfriend but stood by the door until Samantha finally joined her.

“Do you mind telling me what that was all about?” Joey asked when they were alone in the car.

  “I’ve started lactating.”

  “Huh? You’ve what?”

  “My breasts are making milk.”

“For Little Booger? But she’s not due any time soon. Or is she coming early? Oh, shit.”

“Calm down, Joey. She’s not making her appearance. It’s just something that happens.”

Joey stared at the swollen breasts that she had just enjoyed the night before.

  “What?” Samantha asked.

“So, is this like a one shot deal? Or will it happen off and on now?”

“No, sweetheart. Now that it’s started, it won’t stop.”

“You mean your boobs are going to leak for the next few months?”

  “Exactly.”

  “But…I mean, what about…well, what if I…”

“They’re not going to stop leaking. If you touch them, you’ll get wet.”

  “Bummer.”

“I told you my body would be going through some changes.”

“Yeah, you did. I just assumed you meant your belly would get big.”

“Which it has, by the way.”

“Just a little.” She reached over and rubbed the small bulge.

Once at the house, Samantha took a shower while Joey lounged on the bed.

“I’m sorry I ruined your party.” Samantha had tears in her eyes.

“Babe, it was no biggy.” Joey sat upright, nervous and uncomfortable. “Please don’t cry.”

“I’m trying not to, but I feel so bad.”

“You shouldn’t. I had a great time. And just throwing that party for me was huge. You’ve nothing to feel bad about.”

“But I wanted you to be able to relax and party with your friends.” She sat on the edge of the bed and buried her face in her hands.

“And that I did. Babe, you’re scaring me. I don’t understand why you’re so upset.”

There was a knock on the door and Joey happily climbed out of bed.

“I’ll get that. You get dressed.”

Joey opened the door to find Brenda and Liz on the porch.

  “Hey, guys. What’s up?”

“Can we come in?” Brenda asked.

“Huh? Oh, sure. Um, Samantha will be right out. She just got out of the shower.”

She moved aside and let them in.

“Go ahead and have a seat. I’ll check on Samantha.”

“You don’t need to. I’m right here.”

Joey turned to see Samantha in a pair of sweats and an oversized T-shirt. Her eyes were dry, and her smile seemed genuine. Joey stared momentarily before regaining her composure.

“Can I get anybody anything?” Samantha asked.

“We really just stopped by to make sure you’re okay. That was an abrupt departure earlier.”

“My breasts were leaking,” Samantha said matter-of-factly.

Brenda looked decidedly uncomfortable and turned to Joey with a questioning look.

“I know, right?” Joey said. “Who knew? I guess it’s normal, though.”

“I’ve heard of that,” Liz said. “I’m glad that’s all it was. Do you need anything from us?”

“No, thank you. I’m sorry to have worried you.”

Joey watched the exchange with growing curiosity. She wondered what had happened to the upset woman from a few minutes before. And if she’d be coming back any time soon.

The rest of the weekend was uneventful and Monday after work, Joey hurried to get her tools packed.

  “Where’s the fire?” Mel asked.

“Samantha has an appointment this afternoon. She gets to find out the sex of the baby.”

  “No shit? That’s kinda cool.”

“She really wants a little girl, doesn’t she?” Brenda joined them.

  “She does.”

  “Dee wanted a boy.”

“I’m not exactly sure what to say to that,” Joey said.

“What do you want?” Mel asked.

“Me? I don’t know. I guess I’ve always just assumed it’ll be a little girl.”

“I don’t know that I can see you with a little girl.”

“I can’t see you with any kid,” Brenda said. “But I wish you luck.”

“Hey, if I can handle leaking boobs, I can handle anything.”

“Yeah, right. She’s the one I’m worried about. Having to babysit you and an infant.”

“Joey, didn’t you have to get going?” Mel said.

“Yeah. I do. Samantha’s waiting for me. I’ll see you two tomorrow.”

She pulled up at the midwife’s office and found Samantha still in the waiting room.

“I’m so glad you’re not in there yet,” she said.

“Me, too. Thank you for being here for this,” Samantha said.

“I’m pretty excited, to be honest.”

  “Really? That’s awesome.”

The assistant called them back and Joey stood uncertainly.

“Come on, sweetheart. I want you in there wi
th me.”

Joey smiled and followed her, surprised at her own level of anticipation. She stood a discreet distance away while Samantha was weighed, then listened intently when the doctor came in and asked Samantha how she’d been feeling. They also talked about how the baby should be developing.

She was amazed when she heard the whirring sound that the doctor said was the baby’s heartbeat. And she held Samantha’s hand when it was time for the ultrasound. They watched the screen as the baby’s head became apparent, then saw the outline of the arm against its belly. The midwife moved the hand piece and froze.

“Do you see that?” She moved so the picture shifted to the bottom of the baby’s belly.

Joey strained to make out the details on the screen.

“That’s definitely his penis,” the midwife said.

Joey’s heart skipped a beat. Suddenly, it all became real. There really was a little person inside Samantha. She was at once excited and terrified. She looked at Samantha, who squeezed her hand.

“Congratulations,” the midwife said. “You’ve got a wonderfully developing baby boy inside you.

The midwife froze the screen and printed it, then took several more pictures for them. As she cleaned Samantha’s belly, she asked if they had any questions.

“I don’t think so,” Samantha said, examining the pictures. “Thank you for these.”

“You’re quite welcome. We’ll see you next month then.”

She left them alone in the room.

“Are you okay that it’s a boy?” Joey asked.

“Of course. As long as he’s healthy.”

  “And she said he was.”

  “Yes, she did.”

Joey walked Samantha to her car.

“Can I take you to dinner?” Joey asked.

“No. I think I’ll just head home.”

  “I don’t think I heard an invitation.”

“I think I need to be alone.”

“Hey, babe, please don’t be too upset it’s a boy. I know your heart was set on a girl, but you’re still going to be a great mom.”

“Thank you, Joey. I hope so.”

“And I’ll teach him to surf and play ball and build things.”

Samantha rested her hand on Joey’s chest.

  “You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”

  “I think I would.”

  “You’re a sweetheart.”

“So, you’re going to be okay?”
