Lusty Charms: Invictus
Page 4
Invictus did not regret making love to Serena.
Making love. He wasn't sure he'd ever done that before, not even early in his relationship with DeMonica. He'd fucked women, many of them, but he didn't think he'd ever made love to any of them. All he knew for certain was that it had been incredibly different with Serena.
Would she be as compliant tomorrow night when he showed her what was in the dungeon?
Not after he ignored her at breakfast. She would cast surreptitious looks in his direction, trying to get his attention, but he wouldn't even glance her way. She might try to arrange a clandestine meeting during the day, but he would avoid her. She would be angry and upset by late afternoon, vowing never to see him again, even though he had told her they must be discreet.
But when the time drew close to midnight, she would come to him.
Invictus was torn between wanting Serena to run from him for her own safety and hoping she ran to him with all her passion. He wanted her safe, but he simply wanted her as well. By the time he reached the first floor, Invictus was smiling. He'd had an extraordinary evening and he'd found Serena. Or more appropriately, she had found him. He looked forward to tomorrow night—and all the many nights with Serena—with an anticipation he had never felt before.
Invictus Cross was no longer alone.
