“I was a fool to swear.” Anders shook off her hand and leaned out to reach for his gambeson. “I’ve the Guard’s horses to check.”
Parselev spoke up. “And debriefing with the King’s Council and a funeral tonight.”
“Let me bandage that.” I put a hand on his wounded knee to stop him, digging through my medicine bag with the other.
Anders pulled the padded tunic to the side of the bed, but waited for me to wrap him back up. “Me, at the King’s Council? That will be interesting. If I don’t turn up at Ilya’s funeral, don’t expect to find my corpse.”
