Neptune’s Passion

With one hand he guided her hips, with the other, he grasped her breast, kneading it. Soon he took hold of the halter top’s straps and used them like reins as he took her from behind. It seemed so filthy and inappropriate. And she loved every second of it.
Five minutes later, with his fingers pinching her clitoris and the sheets fisted in her palms, they dropped over the edge of the waterfall. Spent, and ruined for other men, Natalie collapsed onto the bed with Griff embracing her.
The next day he convinced her to go snorkelling with him. She’d been nervous about the idea, but with his encouragement and instruction, she found it exhilarating. It was incredible the amount of colourful fish there had been. She’d loved seeing the starfish, but the most exciting moment had been the giant sea turtle that had moseyed by.
On their last full day, they’d gone swimming in the ocean, soaked in the hot tub, and left the resort for a little shopping. They’d came back with hot sauce, a few pounds of coffee, and a necklace Griff had picked out for Natalie.
Their last morning was spent packing, followed by a quick breakfast at the buffet. When they returned to their room for their suitcases, Griff stopped her at the door.
“Natalie, wait.”
With her hand on the doorknob, she paused.
He took the handle of her suitcase and rolled the bulky item away. Slipping one arm around her waist, he pulled her close. Tipping up her chin he gazed down at her. “This week has been like a dream.”
Natalie agreed.
“But I know that it was a vacation from reality. We could be carefree.”
Was this the part where he kissed her goodbye and told her it’d been fun while it lasted?
She’d known it could be a possibility, and while she was nowhere near ready to let him go, she wasn’t going to let it dampen her memories. They hadn’t made any promises. He was free to step back into his old life, just as she was.
Natalie was mentally trying to guess what far-away place he’d choose to travel to next when he said, “I’d really like to give it a try in reality.”
“Wait! What?” It barely registered that the words had slipped from her mouth.
He must have taken her response as a refusal. “If you don’t want to, I’ll understand, but I’d really hoped that this could be a stepping stone. I’d love to see you again when we get back home. Like a date.”
“Yes.” The word rushed from her. “Yeah. I’d love that.”
His shoulders sagged. “Thank God!” He rested his forehead against hers. “You had me panicked for a minute there.”
“Good.” She played with the lettering on his shirt. “I’ve got to keep you on your toes.”
He growled and nipped her earlobe. “As long as you keep me, I’m good.”
Grinning like a tourist just embarking on vacation rather than heading home, Natalie pried herself from Griff, snatched her luggage, and headed for the door. Hand in hand they strolled down the corridor. She wasn’t a hundred percent sure what her future would bring, but she imagined sunny vacations, laughter and love, and lots of wonderful stories.
