The pose must’ve been extremely uncomfortable to maintain.

“My poor girl, her sweet little nipples so desperate for my attention.” The words that had tumbled out of his mouth surprised him. Brundar wasn’t much of a talker in general and during sexual play in particular. But he was starting to realize that being with Calypso was changing him in more ways than one.

She wasn’t letting him get away with his Spartan speech patterns, she demanded he talk to her, tell her things, and little by little he was getting better at it. It no longer felt like such a tremendous effort to form whole sentences, to express his thoughts and what little feelings he had.

No one had challenged him in so long. Even Anandur had given up on coaxing him out of his shell. But Calypso refused to back down. Refused to accept that it was all he had to give.

She mewled in agreement, rubbing against him one last time before collapsing her back down on the bed.

Untangling his fingers from her hair, Brundar moved his hands down to her breasts. For a moment, he just cupped both, enjoying the heft of them filling his hands to overflowing. Her hard nipples poked his palms, reminding him where his girl needed his attention most.

She was sensitive there; he remembered it from their previous interlude that day. Nevertheless, she wasn’t averse to a little rough play. A tiny dose of pain was a sure way to ratchet her pleasure.

He started with his thumbs, circling round and round and barely touching the turgid nubs. When his fingers finally closed on them and pinched, Calypso’s chest pushed up on a strangled moan.

Sliding down, he licked the small pain away, first one, then the other. When she relaxed, lowering her back, he pinched and tugged again.

  “Aw,” she complained.

He didn’t let go. “Do you want me to stop?”

Biting on her lower lip, her eyelids pressed tight, she shook her head, the scent of her arousal intensifying and proving him right.

When she started thrashing her head from side to side, he knew she’d had enough. Letting go, he plumped her breasts and licked her nipples, alternating between the two until he soothed the pain away.

He had only just begun, and Calypso was already on the cusp of climax.

Trailing small kisses down her belly, he slid further down until his mouth was level with her molten heat.

Fates. How had he thought of denying himself this pleasure?

Spreading her folds with his thumbs, he treated her to a long lick that had her arching off the bed again. She had such a small ass that Brundar could keep her spread with his thumbs, while cupping it with his other fingers and holding her down.

She wiggled in his possessive grip, but it wasn’t because she was sore from the light spanking he’d treated her to earlier. There was no trace left of it. Calypso was just loving what he was doing to her.

After a venom bite, even a harsher spanking would’ve left no residual soreness or marks, which was one of the main reasons he was in such high demand at the club. Those who enjoyed the spicier spectrum of tastes couldn’t understand how he did it, only that he was the only one who could.

Brundar had a feeling that his former partners were going to be very disappointed. He was no longer on the market.

For the near future, he belonged to Calypso.

  Chapter 55: Callie

This was the most intimate sexual act imaginable, and Callie was glad Brundar was the first one she was sharing it with.

Shawn had made a half-hearted offer to pleasure her this way, once, but his lack of enthusiasm had made it far from appealing. It wasn’t something she’d craved anyway. Too intimate of an act with a man she’d never fully trusted—not even when she’d been still trying to make their marriage work. Subconsciously, or even consciously, Callie had known all along that he wasn’t the right man for her.

Only later, she’d also realized he was mentally unstable and dangerous.

And here she was, blissful in her surrender, unafraid even though she had been tied up and blindfolded by a man she knew very little about, who was kissing and licking the most intimate and vulnerable spot on her body.

At first, she’d agreed to the blindfold as a concession to Brundar, but she was discovering that by depriving one of her senses, she was feeling everything more acutely with the others.

Callie could hear Brundar smacking his lips as if he was tasting something delectable, feel the reverence with which he held her open, his thumbs gentle on her folds, his tongue rimming her trembling flesh in slow, careful licks, applying the exact pressure to bring her the most pleasure.

At the same time, his other fingers were digging into her ass muscles, possessive and strong.

The combination pushed all of her buttons—physical and mental.

Or were they one and the same?

  A self-feeding loop of sorts?

  “Okay, sweetling?”

She loved that he checked with her at every stage even though her body’s responses were telling him all he needed to know.

  “Amazing. More.”

He chuckled, smacking his lips again.

Was he doing it on purpose to let her know he was enjoying eating her up?

Brundar spread her even wider, his thumbs parting her folds and holding her open for his tongue. As he speared it inside her, the need to move and undulate around that penetrating tongue was overwhelming. But the iron grip Brundar had on her buttocks prevented even the smallest of movements. She was helpless and open for his ministrations.

  Damn, it was hot.

Giving her bindings a small tug, Callie reassured herself that she truly was at Brundar’s mercy.

God, it felt so good to surrender everything and just feel.

In the back of her mind, she was well aware that it was all an illusion. One word from her would stop Brundar immediately. And the binds were loose and stretchy enough for her to pull her hands out without much effort.

She was learning. It was all a game, and perception was everything.

Would it feel different if it wasn’t?

What if she really was at this man’s mercy with no safe word and ties she couldn’t get out of?

Arousing as hell and just as dangerous. The fear would have been too intense to enjoy anything. It was like parasailing for real versus a ride in an amusement part. Same sensations but without taking a risk.

One thick finger replaced Brundar’s tongue, filling her in a different way. Then he added another, curving both to massage a particularly tender spot.

The coil inside her getting tighter, Callie moaned, her involuntary undulations thwarted even though Brundar was holding her down with only one hand.

  “More,” she groaned.

Pressing his mouth over her pulsating clit, he drew it between his lips, detonating an explosion that sucked a scream out of her throat.

Brundar slowed down, planting a gentle kiss on her clit, his fingers moving in and out of her in a slow rhythm, letting her catch her breath.

  “You’re magnificent when you come.”

His words of praise pleased her to no end. So much so that she didn’t even come back with the snarky remark that was on the tip of her tongue. He’d given her too much for her to repay him with anything less than profound gratitude.

She was about to say something to that effect, when Brundar resumed his assault, driving away any and all coherent thoughts.

The only movement available to her was thrashing her head from side to side. She tried to form the words to tell him that it was too much, that she was too sensitive and couldn’t take any more, but something inside her didn’t want him to stop, trusting him to know what she needed. If he thought she could come again then she would.

She wasn’t wrong. In moments, she was once again climbing toward another climax.

“Brundar!” Callie keened as another explosion rocked through her.

Her body trembling from the aftershocks, she had a vague impression of his fingers on her ankles. A moment later her
wrists were unbound, and he was holding her to him in a fierce embrace.

Warm in his arms, Callie stopped shivering, and her mind’s frazzled gears came back online. Brundar was shirtless, but his jeans were still on, and she was no longer bound.

Which meant that as far as he was concerned sex was over.

“What’s wrong? Why did you stop?” She hated how needy she sounded.

  “I didn’t bring a condom.”

God, she was so stupid. She should’ve bought a pack while at the supermarket.

On the one hand, she was touched that he hadn’t presumed anything when he’d brought her home. Most guys Brundar’s age carried at least one condom in their wallet just in case they got lucky.

“You didn’t ask if I have one.”

He chuckled. “I know you don’t.”

She hated for their time to end like that. Being on the receiving end of pleasure was fun, but it didn’t sit well with her not to reciprocate.

“Can I return the favor?” She wasn’t nearly as good at oral as Brundar, but she would give it her best.

Gentle fingers removed her blindfold, and he leaned to plant a chaste kiss on her lips. “Not tonight. You’re exhausted.”

It was true. Callie felt as if she’d just finished running a marathon and could sleep for two days straight. Who knew that orgasming several times in the same day would be so tiring?

After all, she hadn’t done anything other than cook two quick and easy meals.

  “Tomorrow, then?”

“Maybe.” Gazing at her as if he wanted to memorize every detail of her face, he leaned and kissed her forehead. “Sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow at the club.” He slid out of bed.

Callie wanted to reach for his hand and stop him, but then remembered she wasn’t allowed.

“Please, can you stay a little bit and hold me?” He didn’t seem like the type of guy who cuddled, but she was desperate for the closeness.

He looked conflicted, standing beside her bed and looking at her with hungry eyes.

Of course, he did. He hadn’t climaxed. Brundar was considerate, but that didn’t mean he had no needs of his own. He probably couldn’t wait to get home and jerk off to relieve the pressure.

“I would understand if you couldn't stay.” She let her eyes glide over the bulge in his pants. It must’ve been painful.

His jaw muscles hardened. and he nodded. “I’ll stay.”

“Thank you.” She burrowed under the blanket and lifted it for him to get in.

Brundar eyed the space she’d made for him as if it was dangerous territory.

“Do you want to stay on top of the blankets?”

He shook his head and got in, pulling her into his arms.

  Heaven.

Callie belonged inside those strong arms. Her cheek pressed against his hard chest, she listened to the steady beat of Brundar’s heart for as long as she managed to keep herself awake. Every moment was precious, and she refused to squander even one. Eventually though, sleep won.

  Chapter 56: Brundar

Brundar couldn’t refuse Calypso’s plea. The temptation to hold her in his arms as she fell asleep had been too strong.

He’d never held a woman in bed, never had anyone fall asleep in his arms. Before today, he’d never felt the need. To want something, he had to be aware of its existence first. Otherwise, how would he know he lacked anything?

Calypso was showing him a lot of things he hadn’t known were missing from his life.

Relationships between men and women were not only about sex and procreation, there was more to it. There was partnership, companionship, and togetherness.

A simple thing like sharing a meal with Calypso was so much more than just a meal. It wasn’t the same as having dinner with his brother, or the other Guardians.

Except, he could have none of those things with Calypso. Not long term.

One day, Amanda might find him a Dormant, and he could try and recreate what he had with Calypso, but Brundar had a feeling he could never feel the same about another female.

Fates knew he tried to keep himself from sinking deeper. But each time he managed to distance himself, Calypso pulled him right back, and he was helpless to deny her anything.

If he'd thought of bringing a damn condom, he would’ve been inside her a moment after she’d climaxed on his tongue. He carried no diseases, and getting her pregnant was a one in a million chance. But he’d already thralled her once that day, and he couldn’t thrall her again to make her think he had protection.

As much as she wanted him, Calypso would’ve panicked. Especially given what her ex-husband had done to her.

  It was better that way.

Brundar would survive a case of blue balls.

The question was what was he going to do tomorrow. Continue from where they’d left off?

Put in motion the story about getting deployed on a mission and cut his ties to her before they were impossible to sever?

Or claim her as his own and keep her locked up in the keep?

No one needed to know. He would ask Ingrid to arrange a new apartment for him, sneak Calypso in, and never invite anyone over.

  Would she mind?

  Yeah, she would.

Calypso had dreams and aspiration beyond being his pet.

Dear Fates, I could use some divine intervention.

  Chapter 57: Roni

Lifting his eyelids was a struggle, so Roni didn’t. It felt as if they were glued shut with sticky slime.

Trying to remember what had happened to him, he couldn’t manage to distinguish between what had really happened and the dream he’d woken from. In the dream, he’d been abducted by aliens. One of them had carried him off, and the bastard must’ve spat on Roni’s eyes, gluing them shut. They were playing irritating alien music to get Roni to talk. All that clicking and beeping was giving him a headache.

“I’m not telling you anything, you alien slime,” he murmured through cracked lips and dry throat. Part of the torture must’ve been water deprivation.

“He’s delirious again, dear. Should I call the nurse?” It was an unfamiliar kind voice. Grandmotherly.

Was that another torture tactic? An alien disguised as a friendly grandmother who Roni would trust?

“He is getting intravenous. He’s fine, Mildred. Stop fretting.”

Mildred; the name sounded familiar, as did the gruff voice belonging to the guy she’d called dear.

“How are you doing, kid?” Dear’s coffee breath smelled very human. Had Dear and Mildred also been abducted?

  “Eyes,” Roni croaked. “Sticky.”

The coffee breath shifted away. “Mildred, get me a wet washcloth from the bathroom. Cold.”

  “Of course, dear.”

A moment later Roni felt Dear wipe his face, careful around his eyelids.

  “Open them now, kid.”

At first, everything was blurry, but soon Dear’s pudgy face came into focus. “I know you.” Roni tried to lift a finger. “Your name is not Dear.”

The pudgy face got closer. “It’s Barty, you moron. Don’t you recognize me?”

There was a shocked intake of breath from behind Barty’s bulk.

“Bartholomew Edward Gorkin, don’t you talk to the boy like that. He is sick with a high fever. Be kind to him, you hear?”

Barty smirked. “That’s my wife, Mildred. Thirty years she is trying to make me into less of an ass. Unsuccessfully, might I add, but she never stops.”

“He is a lost cause, Mildred,” Roni said.

“I know. But I love him anyway.” Mildred brought a cup of ice water to Roni’s lips. “The doctor said you can drink a little when you wake up.”

Roni lifted his neck and took a few grateful sips, wetting his chin, some of it dripping on his hospital gown. “How long have I been in here?”

“A little over eight hours. The doctor says you have pneumonia.”

Crap. As the cobwebs of sleep or fever or whatever it was started to li
ft, Roni remembered why he was here, and it wasn’t pneumonia.

“Where is Sylvia?” he asked, looking around for his rescue squad.

Had he been too out of it to ask for her?

“She is here, dear, taking a potty break.” Mildred patted his hand. “You asked for her and for Barty. The nice security guy who brought you here called Barty, and Barty called Sylvia. She didn’t leave your side other than to grab something to eat and bathroom breaks. Such a nice young woman.” Mildred leaned closer. “She is a keeper. Don’t let her get away.” She winked, her kind round face beaming.

Roni decided that he liked Mildred. She was a lot nicer than her dear husband. But Barty was okay too. Had they been here the entire time?

  “Why are you guys here?”

Mildred frowned. “Somebody needs to keep an eye on you. Barty tried to reach your parents, but they are not home. He tried several times but no one is picking up.”

Yeah, they were probably on one of their cruises, spending the money he’d earned while underage.

“Thank you for staying with me.”

Mildred squeezed his hand. “Think nothing of it. I’m glad we could be here for you.”

The door opened, and a moment later Sylvia’s arms were around him. “Roni. I’m so glad you’re awake. I was so worried about you.” She planted a kiss on one cheek, then the other.

“Barty, dear, let’s give these young people some privacy, shall we?” Mildred tugged on Barty’s sleeve jacket.

“Yeah, why not.” Barty winked at Roni. “You’re only young once. Enjoy it while you can.” He wrapped his arm around his wife’s rounded shoulders. “How about I invite you for a cup of coffee, Mrs. Gorkin?”

“I’d be much obliged, Mr. Gorkin.”

Sylvia smiled. “They are a cute couple. Barty is such an old lecher, I never expected him to love his wife so much.”

“You know he is harmless. He just likes to watch you girls.”

“I know.” Sylvia sat next to him on the hospital bed. “How are you feeling?”
