“I’d like a few details to.” A gruff sounding voice echoed from the doorway and I looked past Jett and Rand to see a tall black-haired man that was wearing a badge on his belt.

“Detective West.” Jett turned towards the man. “I know you’re just doing your job, but I don’t think she’s in any condition to answer questions right now.”

“She won’t have to answer many questions.” He walked over to the bed. “A simple nod will do for most of this. We already know what happened—we just need your help in establishing a motive.”

“Have you caught the guy?” Rand raised his eyebrows in surprise.

“Yes.” Detective West nodded quickly. “We were already checking surveillance footage near the warehouse, and when one of the license plates came back to a car registered to John Dunkirk, it wasn’t hard to put together the pieces after the fire last night.”

“You guys work fast.” I forced a smile. “That’s my boss—well, he was my boss—before he tried to kill me.”

“He’s in jail.” Detective West sat down next to my bed and smiled. “We arrested him as he was trying to board his private jet this morning.”

“Thank god.” I nodded and sighed.

“He’s lucky he’s behind bars right now,” Jett growled and his face twisted into a scowl. “I can’t tell you what I would do if I could get my hands on him.”

“You and me both.” Rand patted his twin brother’s shoulder.

Detective West asked a few questions that I was able to answer with a nod, just like he said. I was horrified to find out what happened to Dana, even more so when I realized that I almost met the same fate. Jett and Rand were able to fill the detective in on what I had previously told them about Dana. The pieces seemed to come together perfectly once they linked their stories together. Detective West excused himself for a few minutes once I told him about Paul, and when he returned, he said that Paul’s passport was scanned for a flight to Russia the previous day. It appeared he fled the country, which meant he likely did take some sort of bribe. We theorized that Dana was probably offered the same deal, but ultimately refused it.

“Paul probably told Mr. Dunkirk that I knew…” I looked up at the ceiling and shook my head. “What an asshole.”

“Yeah, I think John Dunkirk was tying up loose ends as fast as possible so he could get out of the country.” Detective West nodded slowly. “I’m sure the SEC and the IRS will have a field day with his clients, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few of them roll on him as soon as they realize they could be considered accessories to murder. He might have destroyed the servers, but that’s only a temporary setback for the investigators. They’ll be able to recover most of the data, and figure out which clients have accounts that don’t match their tax returns.”

“Something they probably wouldn’t have even bothered to look into if there was nobody to tell them it was an issue.” Rand squeezed my hand. “The accounts would have looked normal once they were recovered unless someone told them to dig deeper.”

“Right.” Detective West put his hands on his hips. “What a fucking mess. All of this for money.”

“People never cease to amaze me when it comes to greed.” Jett exhaled sharply.

Detective West finished up his questions and seemed to believe it would be fairly easy to convict Mr. Dunkirk with the evidence they had. He might even take a plea deal and never go to trial. I was happy knowing that the only plea deal he would be able to cut was life imprisonment instead of the death penalty. He deserved the latter for what he did to Dana, but the attempt on my life would be enough to make sure those were his only options. Jett and Rand stayed with me for a couple of hours until my parents insisted on coming back. The hospital staff didn’t want me to have more than two visitors at a time, and while they made an exception for Detective West, they couldn’t let four people stay in my room for the entire night.

  A few days later

“Okay, easy does it.” I held my arm around Brylee’s waist as we stepped off the elevator.

“I’m not an invalid, I can walk.” She pushed my hand away and gingerly took a step forward.

“You’re going to get help whether you like it or not.” Rand walked up and grabbed her by the waist before she could take another step.

“Fine.” She grumbled and let us help her towards the apartment.

After the first night in the hospital, Brylee seemed to be in good spirits. We talked more with the doctor and learned that while she did suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning, her body was strong enough to fight off the worst of it once they got her in the oxygen chamber. The doctor was amazed by her resilience. Medicine and technology could only do so much—the rest was her sheer determination and willpower. She still needed a few days in the hospital for observation, but she improved almost every day. She definitely would have walked to our apartment on her own if we let her. I’m not even sure she would have cared if she fell down—she would have just gotten back up and kept walking.

“You made the newspaper this morning.” I picked up the latest edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and tossed it on the table in front of Brylee.

“Whoa.” Brylee leaned forward. “They used a picture from high school?”

“Blame your mother.” I rolled my eyes and sat down next to Brylee on the couch. “They asked her for a picture that’s the one she gave them.”

“I have so many pictures on Facebook,” Brylee grunted and sighed.

“I’m going to guess your mother doesn’t spend much time on Facebook.” Rand chuckled and sat down in the chair, but turned it to face the couch.

“I guess I can say goodbye to my career as an accountant.” Brylee leaned back against the couch. “I’m the woman that took down Dunkirk Accounting. Nobody will want to hire me after that.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that.” Rand leaned over and pushed a cell phone across the table. “Your phone has been blowing up and based on the number of companies that end with the word accounting, I’m guessing you’re going to be fighting them off with a stick.”

“Wait, where did you get my cell phone?” Brylee leaned over and picked it up.

“One of our buddies at the police station found it when they were securing the perimeter after the fire. I guess Mr. Dunkirk tossed it as far as he could throw it.” I shrugged and leaned forward. “The doctor said you need lots of fluids, so I’m going to get you a glass of tea.”

“I guess I should call my parents and make sure they made it home okay.” Brylee scrolled through her phone and put it to her ear.

It took every bit of Brylee’s willpower and determination to fight off the effects of the carbon monoxide poisoning, but it took a lot more than that to convince her parents to let her stay in Atlanta with us. They wanted to put her in the back of the car and not stop driving until they were back in Cedar Grove. Rand and I had to swear on our own lives that we would make sure she was safe, and her father seemed like he might actually collect that debt if anything happened to his daughter. After everything we went through, we definitely weren’t going to let her out of our sight until she was fully recovered. Her parents seemed like they sort of understood that we might be involved in some way, but I don’t think they knew it was with the both of us. It seemed like her mother couldn’t tell us apart half the time and called us by the wrong name. Her father didn’t speak to us much, except when it was about Brylee.

“Okay, they made it home safe.” Brylee hung up her phone and started looking at her voicemail. “Holy crap, that’s a lot of messages.”

“I told you.” Rand chuckled and nodded.

“You’ll have plenty of time to sort through them in the next few weeks.” I walked over and handed Brylee her glass of tea. “Drink up.”

“Next few weeks?” Brylee raised her eyebrows in surprise. “I can’t even pay my rent this month if I don’t find a job.”

  “You don’t have to wo
rry about that.” I shook my head back and forth. “I talked with the landlord and he’s willing to cut you a break—or…”

“Or?” She tilted her head to the side.

“Or you can just move in with us. You’re going to be staying with us until you recover anyway. Why don’t we just make it permanent?” Rand nodded quickly. “After our lease is up we can see about getting a bigger place so that it isn’t so cramped, but it’ll be fine until then.”

“You want me to—move in.” Brylee swallowed hard and looked down at the floor. “Wow, that’s a huge step.”

“The circumstances aren’t ideal, but we know how we feel about you.” I reached over and took Brylee’s hand. “We didn’t need this tragedy to make us realize it, but it has made us extremely conscious of how important what we have is.”

“Some people might call us crazy for rushing into this, but I don’t give a fuck.” Rand reached over and took her other hand. “We love you.”

“I care about the two of you more than you’ll ever know, and it’s not just because you saved my life. As soon as I woke up at the hospital you were the first thing on my mind. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.” She lifted her head slowly and smiled. “I love both of you.”

“Then it’s settled.” I nodded quickly and smiled.

“It would be nice not to have to worry about being homeless when I can’t pay my rent. Even if the landlord cuts me a break, it’s going to take a couple of paychecks to get back on my feet.” Brylee’s smile widened. “I guess I can use that as an excuse for moving in with extremely hot twin firefighters.”

“And when you’re all better, we can show just how much we’ve missed you.” Rand grinned and squeezed her hand.

“I’m—probably okay for that now.” Brylee lifted her eyebrows and her smile twisted into a devious grin.

“Let’s give it a couple days to be safe.” I let go of her hand and pointed at the tea. “Keep drinking. You need fluids.”

“Fine.” She grunted and took a quick sip of her tea.

I felt more joy in that moment then I had ever felt before. Brylee was everything I had ever dreamed of in a woman and I knew Rand felt the exact same way. It wasn’t just going to be about sharing her—we were going to be three people in love that were totally devoted to each other. I hoped that one day we could talk about marriage, even if it wasn’t a traditional wedding with one bride and one groom. We had the rest of our lives to figure it out, and every day was going to be a blessing. Rand and I would spend every single moment we had with Brylee showing her how special she was and how much we loved her.

  One year later

The first few weeks after I got out of the hospital were filled with interviews—but not the ones that would lead to a job. I had to sit down with the police and make a formal statement in writing. After that, the SEC wanted me to walk them through exactly what I saw at Dunkirk Accounting and how the fraud was set up. Just when I thought I had met with everyone that I could possibly meet with, the IRS came calling. They wanted to verify some figures with me, and while they didn’t disclose the name of the person they were investigating, I knew it was the Russo account just based on the discrepancies. Mr. Dunkirk took a plea deal and was sentenced to life in prison. I didn’t really want to see him again, but I couldn’t resist going to court and watching his last moments outside of a jail cell. Standing up and locking eyes with him as he was led out of the courtroom was a lot more satisfying than I realized.

I thought that Dunkirk Accounting would go under after Mr. Dunkirk was locked up, but the SEC stepped in. The accounts were recovered from the files Mr. Dunkirk deleted, and once they were verified, the SEC arranged to have them transferred to other firms in Atlanta—with the understanding that the employees who handled them would be brought on to manage the accounts until they were fully integrated into the new company. Most of the customers were pleased with this, except for the ones that were involved in Mr. Dunkirk’s embezzlement scheme. A part of Mr. Dunkirk’s plea was to fully cooperate with those investigations. The scheme was his idea, but they still benefited from it, and some of them ended up going to prison. If Mr. Dunkirk hadn’t taken his plea deal, their testimony might have been worth something, but they didn’t need it, so the authorities threw the book at them.

I ended up getting a job at an accounting firm that handled nearly twice as many accounts as Dunkirk Accounting, and everything seemed to be completely by the book. It was one of the firms that didn’t even return my calls after college, but after I made the news, they were willing to give me a chance. They certainly didn’t have to worry about my integrity, which they thought was a huge bonus. The funny thing was that I ended up reporting to Mr. Smith again because he got a job there as well as the manager of the department I worked in. A few other people from Dunkirk Accounting ended up working there as well, so we had our own clique of people who followed the developments as our old employer and the people he committed fraud for were trashed in the news. After a year, it was business as usual, and we hardly even talked about it.

“Welcome home!” I walked into the living room as soon as I heard the front door opening.

“Two days off—and it’s the weekend.” Rand walked into the apartment and started sliding off his shoes. “The best days off we could ever have.”

“Tell me about it.” Jett nodded and removed his shoes.

“Oh, did you miss me?” I walked over and wrapped my arms around Rand’s neck.

“I’m about to show you how much.” Rand started kissing me and slid his hands down my hips to squeeze my ass.

Things with Jett and Rand certainly heated up once I moved in and fully recovered from the carbon monoxide poisoning. When our days off lined up, we were usually at a storage auction or burning up the bedroom. I was happy that they had the whole weekend to spend with me, and there were no auctions for us to attend because I was looking forward to having them all to myself for two days. It was rare that they got both weekend days off, and I wasn’t going to waste a single minute of the time we had together. Rand’s lips were crushing mine in a passionate kiss while Jett teased my neck. It was a really good start to the weekend already. Rand pulled me close as his lips separated from mine.

“We have something we want to talk to you about before we head to the bedroom.” Rand reached down and took my hand in his.

“Oh yeah?” I tilted my head to the side. “What’s that?”

“How would you like to try for a baby?” Jett’s lips spread into a grin.

“Seriously?” I blinked in surprise. “I thought you both wanted to wait.”

“I think we’ve waited long enough” Rand grinned. “You’ve been living with us for a year now.”

“Yeah, but we talked about having some sort of wedding first.” I bit down on my lip and grimaced. “Which means we finally have to be honest with our parents.”

“Of course.” Jett reached into his pocket. “That’s why we bought you a ring.”

“What!?” My eyes nearly bulged out of my head as they both knelt down in front of me.

I didn’t even know what to say. I was in total shock. They asked me to marry them both, and while I wasn’t sure how that was going to work exactly, all I could do was agree. The ring was a beautiful diamond solitaire that felt heavy on my hand when they slid it on my finger. I was gushing and blubbering so much that I don’t know what I said exactly outside of a resounding yes, but Jett quickly silenced me with a kiss. The three of us started making our way to the bedroom where they finished removing my clothes and pushed me back on the bed. I wasn’t on the pill, and when they crawled into bed without putting on condoms, I realized that they were very serious about making a baby—we were going to start immediately.

“Don’t you want to spank me first?” I rolled over and wiggled my ass. “Once you knock me up, you won’t be able to do that for nine months.”

“Get your ass over here.” Rand
grabbed me and yanked me towards him.

  SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

“You know baby hormones are going to make me really horny right.” I bent over further and wiggled my ass again.

“Yeah, we know.” Jett chuckled and lifted his hand.

  SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

“Luckily you’ll have two of us to make sure you never have to worry about being satisfied.” Rand pushed his hand between my thighs and started rubbing my pussy.

“What about when you’re at work.” I moaned and pushed against his finger.

“Maybe we’ll find a storage locker with some more sex toys.” Jett rubbed my ass and then lifted his hand.

  SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

“Oh fuck, I can’t take anymore of that—I need you inside me too bad.” I started grinding against Rand’s finger a little harder.

Rand entered me from behind and started to hammer my pussy. I was so wet that it only took him a couple of thrusts to get all of the way inside me. He fucked me hard and fast, slamming into me with thrusts that made the bed rock on the posts. I reached out and stroked Jett while Rand fucked me, but I could tell it wasn’t going to take Rand long to cum. It was the first time his cock had ever been inside me without a condom and both of us seemed to be able to tell a difference immediately. His cock started to throb and pulsate after several minutes and the pressure inside me built up so quick I was already starting to cum before I felt him start to erupt.

“Oh fuck!” Rand’s hips bucked and he started unloading inside me. “That’s the one right there—that’s going to make a baby.”

“Get out of the way. I’ll show you how to make a baby.” Jett pulled his cock out of my hand and crawled behind me as Rand moved to the side.

My pussy was still orgasming as they swapped places and I orgasmed again as soon as Jett pushed his cock inside me. He slammed into my pussy with even more ferocity than Rand, chasing his release from the beginning. My body started to shake as another orgasm ripped through me. Jett continued to drive his dick deep inside me, making my g-spot beg for more, even as the orgasm made bliss rush through my veins. His hands latched onto my hips and he started thrusting into me faster. My moans got so loud that they were filling the bedroom and I was floating on a cloud of my own desires. The sound of him hammering my pussy echoed through the bedroom as I felt him start to throb and pulsate.
