Snow Bound

She’s not moving. It’s like she’s paralyzed by fear. I don’t even know if she’s heard me, but there’s no time to stay and talk to her now.

I sprint to the next bedroom and grab a blanket off the bed. The flames are higher when I get back. The curtains have caught. Mykayla’s staring at them, her expression blank.

“Mykayla.” She doesn’t even respond. Hurriedly I pull the blanket around myself and jump through the flames. I grab at her, covering her up with the blanket. She’s smaller than I am, so the flames must look higher to her. No need to see them now. My arms are around her and I take her back through with me.

  “You okay?”

She gives me a blank stare. She’s not burned that I can see. So I sit her down in the hallway and take off. I know I saw a fire extinguisher somewhere. But where?

Back in the kitchen. I get there as fast as I can. There’s two big ones under the sink. I haul one out and nearly knock Jase over.

  “Where is it?”

“Mykayla’s room.” I’m already running back there. He’s close behind me, the other extinguisher in his hands.

I catch a glimpse of Mykayla, still where I left her. She’s standing up, shrugging off the blanket. But there’s no time to check on her. Jase and I get the foam going, spraying into the room.

The blasts are more powerful than I expect. I’ve never used one of these things before, but it’s powerful. Until it runs out. What the fuck? The fire’s still burning. Jase’s one runs out just after mine.

Between us, we’ve put out most of it. But we can’t stop now, or it’ll spread again. “Is there another one?” I ask him.

“I don’t know. I’ve only seen these two.”

We’ve got the curtains taken care of. Now it’s mostly the oil on the floor and part of the thin rug by the bed. Instinctively we both start to stomp on the smaller flames. Water won’t work with the oil. What we’re doing is helping some. But not enough.

Then a steady stream of foam shoots out beside me. Jase and I keep on doing what we’re doing, and the foam takes care of the rest. I turn around fast, assessing the rest of the room. I check, and then check again. It looks like it’s out. Only then do I register Mykayla. She’s got a mini-extinguisher in her hands. She’s the one who caught the rest of the flames.

We both go to her. “Mykayla. Are you alright? Are you burned anywhere?” She was pretty well covered by the blanket but I grab at her hands anyway, turning them over and over.

“I’m fine. Are you? I was the one covered up. You weren’t.” She’s grabbing at my hands while I’m still trying to check hers.

  “Sure. I’m fine.”

Jase’s inspecting Mykayla too. Then he turns to me. “Just a small singe on the hair.” He runs his hand over my head. “Nothing more.”

“That’s my fault.” Mykayla examines me, her face falling. “I should’ve come out when you told me too. It was worse when you came back for me with the blanket. I don’t know why I froze like that.”

“So, you panicked. It doesn’t matter. Anyone else would’ve done the same thing.”

“You okay?” Jase’s looking at me like he’s concerned.

“Yeah, fine.” I turn away from him. I must look freaked or something. It was shocking, seeing Mykayla behind those flames. And it happened so fast. So much chaos, starting up in just an instant. My heart’s still racing and the adrenaline’s still giving me aftershocks.

But it’s not just that. Finding Mykayla in danger brought up a bunch of feelings I didn’t quite know I had. The main one that I can’t ignore is that it was her. I can’t lose her. Or Jase. Just the idea of not being around them again once we get out of here is making me feel sick. I need them. I want them. No question.

Jase’s surveying the room carefully. I give Mykayla a hug before I go and join him. But she comes with me. She looks back to her normal self. Nearly, at least.

“It looks fine.” Jase steps back. We’ve all checked over and over for any stray sparks or hot spots that we might have missed. Everything’s pretty well soaked in the foam too. “Let’s get back to the fire that we should be around.”

“How did you know what was going on?” I ask Jase as we head back to the living room. “You acted like you knew what I was doing right away. How?”

“I was almost back at the cabin when I saw the flames in the window. That reminds me, I dropped the wood outside. I’ll go get it.”

  “You need any help?”

“No. All good. Best if you stay here and relax with Mykayla.”

Mykayla sits down on the sofa. She’s not quite as back to normal as I thought. I want to help her calm down. When a memory hits me, I touch her hair. “Don’t go anywhere. I need to get something.”

  “I’m fine, Linc. Go on.”

I walk out quickly. I don’t want to leave her alone for longer than I have to. But I can’t help but check once more on Mykayla’s room as I pass by it on the way to mine. It still looks fine, at least as far as nothing restarting up. Aside from the charred floor, burned rug and pretty much non-existent curtains. Nothing that can’t be fixed or replaced though.

I still can’t get over just how fast everything went from normal to all hell breaking loose. And just from one wrong move.

I give my head a shake and continue on. Hauling my suitcase out from the closet, I check to see if I really did pack what I think I did.

Yes. There it is. I hurry back out to Mykayla. She shouldn’t be alone now.

Jase’s setting a stack of logs on the floor as I get back to the living room. He picks a few of them out and heads over to the fireplace. We both settle in by Mykayla, who’s sitting on the floor with her back against the sofa.

“I think we could all use a drink.” I show them what I’ve brought with me.

“That’s just what we need.” Mykayla takes the wine bottle from my hand for a closer look. “Where did you get this?”

Leaning over her shoulder, Jase examines the label. “This is a lot nicer than what we already polished off.”

“I brought it up with me. I forgot all about it, until just now. I was trying to think of something that would make you feel better.”

“Thank you, Linc.” Mykayla gives me a warm smile. My pulse quickens. “I’m fine. I won’t turn down a glass of this, but I’m fine.”

Jase passes over glasses and I pour us all pretty generous amounts. I raise mine in a toast. “To staying safe. But not too safe.”

“What do you mean by that?” Jase shifts in closer to Mykayla. “This is great stuff, by the way. Really smooth.”

Mykayla’s also giving me a quizzical look.

“About what I said before.” I glance at Jase. “I told Mykayla I wasn’t into keeping anything going after we get out of here.”

I take hold of Mykayla’s hand. “But I’ve been rethinking it. I mean, it’s not exactly in the realm of normal. But maybe it doesn’t have to be. Maybe we can give it a try. Make it work out somehow. Whatever. I just realized that I don’t want to be without you.”

My heart thumps against my chest when I catch Jase’s eye. It’s not so easy to admit the same thing to another guy. “Or you either.”

He breaks out into that grin of his that I like so much. “I had my doubts about you, Linc. You’ve been holding something back since we got into this. But look at you now. Stepping up for what you want. That’s the Linc I know. Not letting anything stand in your way.”

Mykayla hasn’t said a word. She staring at the fire, not looking at me. I squeeze her hand gently. “That is, if you can forgive me.”

She shakes her head. “There’s nothing to forgive. You told me how you felt before. There’s nothing wrong with being honest.”

“Yeah, but maybe I could have been a little less of a jerk about it.”

“It’s fine. But nothing’s changed about any of the other things you brought up. What changed your mind?”

Her eyes are filled with something that looks like sadness. She doesn’t trust me. I guess I can’
t blame her. But it stings. “What’s changed is that now I know how much I want to be with you. Seeing you trapped behind those flames helped me realize it. The idea of losing you, in any way, is awful. I don’t want what we have to end.”

  “What, the sex thing?”

I smile. She’s back to challenging me again. That’s a good step in the right direction. I love it. “The sex is incredible. Like nothing I ever thought it would be. But no. Not just the sex thing. I want it all. Sex. Dating, if that’s what three people can do. And love. For all of us.”

Jase reaches past Mykayla to rub at my shoulder. “That right?”

I meet his gaze. “Yes. All of us. Together. If you still want that too.”

“Of course. There’s nothing else I could want.”

Picking up the bottle, I refill everyone’s glasses. “Then I have another toast to make. Here’s to us. All three of us. Better together than apart.”

“I’ll drink to that.” Jase clinks all of our glasses. The smile lighting up Mykayla’s face warms me right up.

  “Me too, Linc.”

We squeeze in close and drink the wine, warm in front of the fire that burns brightly in front of us. There’s no other place in the world I’d rather be than here.

  Chapter 17

  Linc

The bottle’s not empty yet, but alcohol isn’t what I want in my mouth anymore. I set my empty glass aside, and take Mykayla’s from her. Jase gets up to grab a blanket to cover us. When he sits back down, it’s beside me instead of Mykayla.

There are flames in his eyes. Reflections from the blazing fire. And something more. Desire. For me. I want to flinch away from his steady gaze.

But I don’t. I’m not used to feeling this way about another guy. But he’s the one I want. Just as much as I want Mykayla.

I wouldn’t change a thing about what we have going for us. Especially not the way he’s looking at me. The firelight in his eyes is heating up my entire body. My cock swells, eager for some attention.

Jase’s not making a move. He’s waiting for me. That’s not how this usually works with him and I. It’s always him starting things up between us. Now he’s making it clear. It’s my turn. I didn’t think it would be a big deal for me. But somehow it is. Guess that’s why he’s doing it. Wanting me to go first. I swallow hard. It’s not like we haven’t been sexual already. And yet somehow, it feels like crossing a line when it’s me initiating something with him. Like there’s no turning back. Like I’m admitting something. To him and to myself. I’m still holding back. But if this is what Jase needs, then I’m going to give it to him. If I’m going in, I’m going all in.

I trail my fingers down his cheek. That’s something I’ve only ever done with a woman before. Something just affectionate without being sexual. Jase’s right. I have been holding back. He and I have just been fucking. Even as my feelings for Jase are growing, I’ve saved anything openly affectionate for Mykayla. I didn’t even realize it until now. No more. I’m changing that right now.

I let my hand move down his chest. He’s not touching me in return. Just seeing what I’m going to do, just like Mykayla is. Like this is a big deal.

Which it is. I don’t know why. Because now, for me, it’s no more of a big deal than it is when I touch Mykayla like this. I almost laugh out loud at how crazy it seems now. This isn’t hard. Not once you give in to what you really want.

There’ll be time for more affection later. I’ve taken the step. Now I’m not afraid. Not holding anything back.

  Not anymore.

I pull Jase in close, hugging him tight against me. Our iron-hard shafts grind together as I grope his ass. Now Jase’s kissing me and nothing in the world could feel better than this.

Until Mykayla comes to us, slipping between our arms so she’s part of this hug too. Jase and I take turns kissing her.

Now this is the way it should be. All of us together. All the time.

It’s Jase’s turn to feel up my ass as I undo his pants. I’m not even taking the time to strip him down, or even pushing his pants out of the way. Just sliding his zipper down and exposing his rock-hard, leaking cock. I can’t wait.

I give Mykayla a final kiss before I get down onto my knees. Jase’s big cock is right in front of my face. I’m almost salivating over it.

He sucks in his breath as I angle his shaft towards me and tongue the head of his cock. I glance up to catch his expression, only to find him and Mykayla making out like they’re going to devour each other. Fucking hell, that’s so hot. I suck his cock between my lips, sliding it over my tongue and enjoying every single second of the way that feels.

I’m still pretty new at this but from Jase’s soft groan, I’m catching on quick. If not, I’d be happy to practice it all day long. Or even if I am catching on quick. Practice is good. I never imagined that sucking a man’s cock could be so much fun. And such a fucking turn on for me too.

I take another quick glance up. Jase’s got a hand on Mykayla’s breast. His other one is between her legs, moving slowly as he strokes her through the fabric of her jeans. If only they were both naked now, but there’s no way I’m stopping what I’m doing to make that happen. They look like they feel the same way. Somehow it makes it dirtier, that Jase has his clothes on while I’m sucking his cock. And even hotter when he’s kissing and feeling up a woman at the same time.

My throbbing cock is distracting me. I don’t know if it’s ever been this hard. I have to wrap my hands around it for a few quick strokes to take the edge off. I can’t do much more than that. I’m too close to coming as it is. I can’t tell who’s enjoying this more, me or Jase.

I know Mykayla is. Her eyes are glued to me now that my mouth’s full of Jase’s cock. She gives me a grin when she and Jase finally come up for air.

  “So hot, Linc.”

I don’t expect it at all when Mykayla kneels down right beside me. “Care to share?”

“Mmm.” I pull back off Jase’s cock. Gripping it by the base, I offer it to her and she lowers her head to accept.

Jase’s hands come down, one on each of our heads. Mykayla and I trade off, each getting our time to suck on Jase. When it’s her turn, I keep one hand busy playing with Jase’s tightening balls. Once it’s mine, Mykayla toys with my cock. Teasing me with her light touch and it’s almost too much for me.

Jase tightens his grip on our hair. “Stop.” His voice is ragged. “Too much.”

Reluctantly Mykayla pulls off his cock. We both stand up at the same time.

“And we need a bed for what I want to do next.”

“What’s that?” Mykayla’s eyes gleam in the firelight. “Care to let us in on the secret?”

He takes her hand, and then mine. “You’ll find out soon enough.”

The moment we reach the bedroom, we start to take our own clothes off. I’m glad they’re on the same page as I am. As much fun as it is to undress both of them, I’m in no mood to wait. Once I’m naked, I grab at the small pile of condoms Jase and I pooled together. One in the bedroom, one in front of the fire. Just in case.

Climbing onto the bed, Jase stretches out on his back. He holds his hand out to Mykayla. “I want you to ride me.”

I press a condom into his hand as Mykayla climbs on top of him. Leaning down, I suck on her nipples while Jase gets himself covered and ready.

I don’t want to stop what I’m doing. With my free hand, I grab at Jase’s thick shaft. Holding him in place, I guide Mykayla down, slowly easing her onto him. She exhales sharply when she’s taken all of him.

“Linc.” The way she says my name goes straight to my cock.

I can’t resist kissing her, our tongues twining together until Jase smacks my ass. “Get over here.”

I move right up to the head of the bed. Right to where Jase’s opening his mouth up wide for me. I take my time, sliding my cock in slowly. Any sudden moves and I’ll go off.

Jase gets it. What with the way Mykayla’s riding him, he’s right there with me. Bu
t he’s having none of the slow side of things. Not now. Curling his hand around behind my ass, he pulls me forward. My cock fills up his mouth and he’s sucking me with an intensity that I can’t resist.

His body’s bucking up as Mykayla slams herself onto him. My eyes are on her as she bounces. On Jase’s cock as it disappears inside of her. They’re fucking wildly now and I can’t get enough of watching them, even as my cock swells from Jase’s expert mouth.

When he groans, the vibrations around my cock are just too much. I don’t even want to try and hold back any longer. As if that’d be possible anyway. It’s like the whole world explodes along with me when I come. I don’t even have the presence of mind to warn Jase. He takes it right in stride, sucking everything I have out of my pulsing cock.

Totally drained, I pull out of his mouth just in time to see Mykayla, her face changing as she loses it too. Her hips are bucking wildly as she keeps moving, sliding up and down Jase’s cock in a sexy display.

“Fuck!” Jase clenches at the sheets, his hands balling up into fists. She must be squeezing him good and tight, because she’s not even done coming when he joins her.

Once they’re both spent, Mykayla leans down, covering Jase with her body. “That was beyond.”

“Got that right.” Jase’s easing her off him so he can get rid of the condom. “And we’re just getting started.”

I don’t say anything. I can’t speak. The tangle of emotions swelling up inside me is too much. It’s truly not just sex between us. Not anymore. It’s so much more than that. And it’s everything I want.

  Chapter 18

  Jase

Something warm on my face wakes me up. I crack open one eye to see what’s going on. The fire would’ve burnt out by now.

It’s not the fire. It’s a ray of sunshine. It’s daylight. I’ve gotten used to not even really knowing when day ends and night begins, ever since the power went out and we’ve been in nearly constant darkness.

The meaning of that hits me suddenly. If the sun’s out, that means the storm’s stopped.

Mykayla and Linc are still asleep. I ease my way out from under the heavy blanket that’s covering us and go over to the window. I squint against the bright light. Yes. It’s stopped snowing. The sun’s out. Small droplets of water are even falling from the roof. The snow’s really starting to melt. Unreal.
