Intro
(Story continued from Part 1 of the series)
You had just translated the message on the ancient manuscript and discovered that you needed to find five objects in order to release the stone from its resting place in front of the only door in the room.
On the bottom of that same page was another message. You figured that there was another clue hidden in that message so you began to translate it.
You flipped the page in the book and found another message that needed to be translated into English. Turn to the next page and find the hidden message.
Now that you have completed the translation and discovered the clue to the first object, you must now locate the correct object. Remember, your goal is to find all five objects so that you can finally move the rock that has trapped you in this room. You can’t imagine how you will be able to move the rock when you have finally found all of the objects, but you figured you didn’t have anything else to do so you continued.
The clue you found wasn’t exactly what you had hoped for. What does it mean to find an object representing “wisdom”? What does it look like and where can I find this thing? You felt a wave of despair coming over you. Any hope you had when you started this quest to get out of this room no longer existed. You started searching anyway because it was better than sitting around waiting to starve to death.
“What kind of object represents wisdom,” you thought to yourself. Thinking out loud again, “Well, let’s see, my parents are pretty wise. Maybe there is something that looks like a mom or a dad”. You searched for about an hour but with no luck. You found a little cove carved into the rock walls just long enough to allow you to lie down. You climbed into the rock bed and as you muttered to yourself, “I’m never going to get out of this place”, you fell asleep.
When you woke up, you looked at your watch. You had been sleeping for about two hours. At least you felt refreshed and were willing to try again to find this “wisdom” thingy.
You turned over on the bed so that your back was to the wall of the bed and your legs were dangling over the side. You rested your head in the palms of your hands and began to think again. You couldn’t imagine what kind of object you were looking for. Suddenly you thought of a king. “A king is supposed to be wise. Like King Solomon, he was the wisest person who ever lived,” you thought to yourself.
So what kind of thingy would represent a king? “A CROWN. DUH!!!” you shouted out loud.
You got up from your bed and walked around the room searching for some kind of crown, but besides the star and the stone pillars, there weren’t any other objects in the room, that you could see anyway. After a couple of hours looking, you began to get really hungry. You hadn’t eaten anything since early this morning because you were so busy. Walking back to your newly found bed, you grabbed your backpack. You really needed to take inventory of the food you had left. You looked inside and dug out all of the remaining food stuff. Five Twinkies, about 50 pixie sticks, about a dozen juice boxes and some beef jerky. “Wow, that can’t be all of it.”
You dug some more and pulled out a couple of really, really smooshed PB&J sandwiches. You were going to have to start rationing your food so that it would last longer. So you divided it up, figuring that you could survive with just two meals a day.
You opened the bag with one of your smooshed sandwiches in it, ripped it in half and put the other one away for tomorrow. You were so hungry you sucked down the sandwich in no time. You downed a juice box and then sat there staring at the opposite wall.
As you were staring at the wall, you noticed a figure etched into the wall. You were too far away to make it out. So you got up and walked over to the wall. “SUH-WEEET! That sure looks like a crown to me,” you said. But the problem was that it was etched into the wall and wasn’t something you could grab and hold onto.
You began running your fingers over the etching, hoping to find some kind of latch or button or something that would help. All you found was little tiny holes, one on each of the spikes on top of the crown. It looked as though there were once jewels embedded in those holes. You grabbed a twig that was lying on the ground and started digging in each of the holes.
There was nothing in the first two holes, but when you stuck it in the third hole, a little trap door in the wall next to the floor slid open. You stooped down to take a look-see and found a little bitty gold crown in the cubby hole.
You pulled out the crown and headed back to where the book was lying. You turned the page, hoping there was another clue to tell you what to do with the crown.
It was another message to decipher. So, once again, you started translating each letter into English. Here is what it translated into.
