“Please let me go!” she cried out again.

“Why, I thought we were talking and it’s not like we are done yet, now, is it?” Carlton asked.

Just then, they heard the door handle being turned from outside.

“Is anybody in there…we kind of need to use the bathroom,” they heard someone call out.

“You better shut up!” Carlton now had his hand clasped over her mouth. Angelina was trying as much as she could to wriggle out of his claws. She found out the hard way that he was much stronger than she had ever expected him to be. She was kicking and screaming into his hand, and he was muffling every scream. She suddenly sent one of her heels flying into the door.

“Hello? Are you okay in there?” the same voice from earlier was asking, sounding concerned.

There was a slight commotion outside of the door before they heard a strong male voice.

  “Security. Stand back.”

The bathroom door was suddenly kicked in and Angelina saw a worried Adrian looking in. But the moment he saw Carlton, all the worry faded away and Angelina could only see rage on his face. Carlton instinctively released her and she ran out to where Olivia was.

“You okay?” Olivia asked as she held her.

“The restraining order wasn’t enough?” Adrian was shouting. “I will ruin you!”

“You don’t need to see this,” Olivia said as she led her out.

‘My shoe…” Angelina started before she took off her other shoe. Olivia led them out of the gallery and stood with her arm around her best friend.

“Is she okay?” Angelina heard a familiar voice. She looked up to see Alex who was now putting his phone into his pocket. “What happened?” he asked, his hand on her shoulder.

“He just…ambushed me,” she said as Olivia rubbed her upper arm.

Angelina didn’t know how long they had been out there before Jolene and Adrian walked up to them. It was like she was having an out of body experience. There were police cars and Carlton was being bundled into the back of one. Even as she gave her statement, it was like she was not really there.

“Come on,” Adrian said as he put his arm around her shoulders. “We are leaving.”

“Whoa Adrian…don’t you think that you should maybe stick around for…” Jolene started before Olivia looked at her.

“Why don’t you just shut up, miss?” she said.

“Excuse me?” Jolene said, obviously surprised that someone had talked to her like that.

“You heard me. Shut the fuck up.”

“I don’t think you should be talking to me like that,” Jolene started. “Adrian, tell her.”

Angelina noticed Olivia rolling her eyes.

“She is right, Jolene. My girlfriend just got attacked…I cannot stay here while she goes home alone,” he said.

“Your girlfriend?” Jolene looked as disappointed as she was surprised. “I thought you were just business partners.”

“Well Jolene, this is the woman who is finally going to make an honest man out of me,” Adrian said as he looked lovingly into Angelina’s eyes.

“But you flew me in from Prague,” Jolene said.

“To organize the party,” Olivia chimed in. She looked a little more excited than she meant to be. “And by the way, you are still on the clock so get back in there.”

“I work for him, not you,” Jolene said rudely as she looked at Olivia.

“And she is my proxy right now, Jolene.” Adrian’s limo pulled up. “Right baby?” he asked as he looked at Angelina who was still pretty shaken up but also immensely entertained at what was going on.

Adrian was relatively quiet as they rode back to her apartment building.

“I should have been there,” he said in a soft voice. “I’m sorry.”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” she said in a soft voice. “And thanks for standing up to Jolene. It meant a lot to me,” she said without looking at him.

Her tone might not have been friendly as she said it but her words were sincere and she hoped he knew it.

Adrian looked at her and then opened the partition.

“Get us to my place,” he suddenly said to the driver.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?”

  “Keeping you safe.”

“I can very well lock my own windows and doors, Adrian. I am not a child.” He knew she didn’t mean what she was saying at that moment, she was only venting her frustration.

“I’m sorry but until we get a new restraining order enforced, I cannot let you be alone. Not while I know that man can get to you whenever he wants,” Adrian said. “You are the most important thing to me. I cannot live with the thought of anything happening to you.”

“I’m sorry…I guess I am just a little on edge…and to think I actually went to petition on his behalf,” she said. “I am so stupid,” she added as she shook her head.

Adrian touched the side of her face and smiled at her. “No you’re not.” He kissed her forehead. “You are my brilliant, beautiful woman.”

When they pulled up in front of his building, she was still feeling agitated. She looked at him and climbed out of the limo when the driver opened the door for them.

“I feel guilty,” she said as they rode in the elevator. “I should have stayed. I really needed to know how that pre-war painting…” she started before he grabbed her hand.

“You are the only thing that matters right now. So what if we don’t sell it? At least you are safe and you are my most prized work of art,” he said in a soft voice. He lowered his head and kissed her softly just as the elevator doors opened. He slipped an arm around her waist and walked her to the door. “Why don’t you get comfortable? I’ll get you something to eat,” Adrian said when they walked into his place but she shook her head.

“I’m not really hungry,” she said as she walked to the living room. Adrian nodded and looked at her. “I should have listened to you,” she said as he began walking towards her.

“Don’t beat yourself up about it. We all do things in our lives that we later regret,” he said in a soft voice.

She looked at him and then began pulling down the side zipper of her dress. He looked at her when the dress pooled around her feet like a bunch of white rose petals.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“Giving myself to you,” she said in a whisper.

“You don’t have to…you’ve been through a traumatic experience,” he said as he began walking towards her.

“Maybe that is why I need you now more than ever. I need to feel your arms around me, protecting me.” She was whispering.

Adrian walked up to where she was and looked into her eyes.

“I will always protect you,” he whispered as he stood in front of her. She looked at him as he pulled her close to himself. “I will always, always protect you,” he said again before he kissed her deeply.

She moaned into his mouth as she enjoyed having his lips crushing hers. His hand was behind her, working up from her waist to her bra. She gasped when she felt him undoing her clasp before he pulled the bra away. He moaned softly when he felt her nipples against his body. Even through his shirt, he could still feel her nipples pressing hard against him.

Holding her steady against himself, he took one of her nipples into his mouth and began sucking hard. She was moaning in gratitude as he sucked her and ran his tongue around her hardened tips. It was the most glorious feeling…by the time he finally released her nipple, she was shaking in his arms. He looked down at her and took her other nipple into his mouth. She was moaning and gasping for breath as he claimed her with his lips. He pulled away and gently lowered them onto the floor. He knelt in between her legs and quickly took off his shirt. She could only lie back and watch him as he stripped down. Even after seeing him naked so many times, she still marveled at his perfect body every time she saw him.

Adrian then began kissing her neck, working his way down to her waist. She ra
ised her head and looked at him as she felt his lips slowly trailing down to her thigh, and then her inside thigh before she began working her way up to her pussy. At first, all she could manage was a whimper when the warmth of his lips engulfed her own wet lips. Soon, she was moaning and gasping for breath especially when he took her distended clit inside his mouth. She found herself breathing hard as he sucked her sensitive bean and ran his tongue along her wet slit. She moaned and writhed as she felt him kissing her pussy in the same way he would have kissed her mouth. Her heart was racing by the time he finally released her clit. She raised her head and looked at him.

“I need you right now…I want you inside me, right now Adrian Corday,” she moaned as he pushed off his pants. He looked at her and got on top of her. He slipped himself into her and began moving in and out of her. He was going easy at first but soon enough he was fucking her hard and deep. She moaned and nibbled on his shoulder, her hand grabbing a lock of his hair. Without even knowing it, she was arching her back repeatedly getting him deeper and deeper inside her. She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him deeper inside her. Adrian loved it. She was insatiable.

She suddenly pushed him off and he looked down at her panting. She didn’t say a word. She just got on all fours. A smile played on Adrian’s lips as he positioned himself behind her. He placed a hand on her lower back and she gasped when she felt him slip into her. She moaned and whimpered as Adrian drove himself into her over and over, going deeper and deeper still. She threw her head back and groaned wildly as he slammed himself into her hips over and over again until she couldn’t take anymore. He moaned loudly and held her neck as he fucked her harder and faster.

She could feel the force in her pussy building up thanks to his enthusiastic thrusts. She would have wanted him to slow down but at the same time, she wanted nothing more than for him to make her climax. And he did. She was suddenly shivering and her pussy was spasming against his cock.

“Oh God….” He groaned as he slipped out of her.

She collapsed on the floor and turned around to look at him.

“No man has ever made me feel what you do,” she said in a soft voice. He laid down next to her and smiled.

“I have never felt this way for any woman,” he said as he held her cheek. “I can actually picture a future with you and it is perfect.”

  She smiled. “I love you.”

“I hope you are not just saying that because….” He started saying before she shook her head.

“No, Adrian. I really truly love you,” she said again.

  Chapter 8

When Adrian first invited Angelina to attend one of his company’s parties, she had been a little too excited. She couldn’t wait to see what his world was all about. She knew he was a big time art dealer but at the same time he also had other business interests in and around the States. It was not that she was ignorant but Adrian was very private about the business side of him. She had never met anyone like him. Most accomplished men would not shut up about their accomplishments but not Adrian. When he was with her, it was like everything else was dead to him because all that mattered to him was Angelina.

If she was very honest, Angelina was flattered. She liked the attention he gave her. It was a far cry from the men she had dated before. Of course it was something to get used to but she was slowly coming to terms with everything.

She caught a glimpse of the time and sighed. She only had around forty minutes before she was officially late and she wasn't even dressed yet. She looked at the two outfits she had laid out on the bed and sighed. She didn’t really know if she had anything that would be appropriate for Adrian’s kind of party. Ever since she checked out his events on the internet, she had felt her clothes fell a little short of the kind of elegance she was supposed to expect. She held a pink sheath bodycon dress against herself as she looked at her reflection and frowned. She was not sure whether it was right for the occasion. She was still standing in front of the mirror when she heard her phone ring. She walked to the bed and sat on the edge before she answered the call.

“Hello,” she said in a tired voice.

“Hey you,” Adrian said. “I’m almost there. Are you ready yet?”

  She sighed loudly.

“No…not really.” She ran her hand on the pink dress. “I don’t think I have anything that has the kind of elegance needed for this cocktail party.”

“What are you talking about? You always look beautiful,” Adrian said and Angelina smiled.

“You have to say that because you hope to sleep with me later,” she teased.

“Well, actually the only reason I have to say that is because I know you always look beautiful and for the record, I will fuck you tonight.”

Angelina felt her cheeks flush a bright crimson.

“The fact remains that I don’t have anything to wear,” she said in a low voice.

“I will be there in a few minutes, Angie. Stop over thinking everything and get dressed,” he said softly.

“Fine.” She sounded a little discontented. She hung up and looked at the pink dress and the blue printed strapless peplum dress. “This is ridiculous,” she thought as she put the two dresses side by side. “But it has to be done.” She took a long deep breath. “I can’t believe that I am doing this but…eeny, meeny, miny, moe...catch a tiger by the toe…if he hollers, let him go…eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Peplum dress it is.”

She took off the bathrobe she had on and pulled on the blue print dress. She walked to the dressing mirror as she pulled the side zipper up. She was glad her bust was generous enough to hold the dress up. She put on her makeup as fast as she could and let her hair fall on her shoulders. She had curled it up earlier leaving it beautifully wavy, glamorous even.

She had just put on her shoes when she heard the doorbell ring. She took a long deep breath and walked to the door.

“Adrian?” she asked as she pressed the intercom button.

  “Yeah, it’s me.”

  “I’m buzzing you in.”

Angelina made her way to the bedroom after buzzing him in and grabbed a black clutch. She had just walked back to the living room when she heard a knock on the door. She slowly made her way to the door and opened it. He looked perfect as usual, dashing even in a blue Alexander McQueen suit. He had his hands in his pocket as he looked at her. A smile played on his lips.

“And you were worried, why?” he said in a low voice as his eyes ran down her body.

“You don’t think it is…” she started to say before he stepped in and kissed her deeply. She felt everything she had been holding back melt away.

“And you matched my suit too,” Adrian said when he pulled away.

“You really think it is perfect for your cocktail party?” she asked and he shook his head. He held the side of her face and smiled.

“The thing about you Angie is that you sometimes over think situations too much,” he said.

“I have been forced to…after meeting you, it was like….” Her words trailed off. She had no idea how she was supposed to finish her sentence. She was literally about to admit that she thought she was a simpleton compared to him.

“Again, Angie. You are over thinking everything,” he said again. She smiled as he opened the door for her. “Come on. I am literally late for my own party.”

She grabbed her keys and walked out with him following close behind.

It was all quiet as they made their way downstairs.

“Of course he did,” Angelina thought when she saw the black town car parked outside her building. “Would driving every so often kill you?”

“Did you say something?” Adrian asked making her realize she had actually thought out loud.

“Um…nothing…just wondering why you prefer being driven to driving yourself.” He smiled as they climbed into the car.

“Does it bother you?” he asked and she shook her head.

  “No. I was just wondering.”

“We are going to a cocktail p
arty where people will drink and I will have a glass or three,” he said as he looked at her. She smiled and then laughed. “I would hate to be on the wrong side of the law. Driving under the influence and everything.” Angelina nodded and looked outside her window. Adrian reached for her hand. “Tell me what’s on your mind.” .

“Tell me about this party we are going to,” she said in a soft voice.

“It’s a shareholder’s party for one of the companies under Corday Incorporated. It’s a relatively new company, a few months shy of it hitting the one year mark.” He used his thumb to rub the back of her hands. “Since this is the first party for the company, it is kind of a big deal for me to be there.”

“So do you exclusively own it? I mean, you did say that it is part of Corday Inc.”

“I own a big chunk of it, that’s all.”

“I like how you say that with so much ease like it is not a big deal,” she smiled.

  “It’s not.”

“It isn’t?” she asked as she looked at him.

“No. If it was something artsy…maybe it would have been. But this is just a something the shareholders at Corday Inc. suggested. It was not really my idea.”

“Why does it sound like it is something you regret?” she asked.

“Is that what it sounds like?” She nodded. “Well, I didn’t mean it like that. All I meant to say was that, the shares at Corday Inc. bring in a good chunk of change but my true love has always been and will always be art.” He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it softly. “But that’s just second to the woman I love.”

“Good save,” she said as the town car pulled up in front of The Buckley Hotel. “This is where the party is?” she asked, surprised and he nodded. The Buckley Hotel was one of the biggest hotels in the area. It was very well the next Hilton.

“It was the only place we could get that could handle the capacity we had planned,” he said when they got out.

“How many people are you expecting exactly?” she asked.
