Who Do I Run To?

Everything that they owned was expensive. Whatever he couldn’t give her or get for her she got it anyway from her daddy. Now, K.P. wasn’t broke—nowhere near it—but he spent his money wisely. He didn’t want to always be splurging so that when it was time he really needed his money, there would some left. Since Kimberly had a wealthy family, she didn’t understand “no,” or, “we can’t afford it right now.” When they got ready to buy their house, K.P. wanted to buy a starter home and then go for the gusto, but no, Little Miss Gotta Have It All wasn’t going for that.

Once they were married, she stopped working and K.P. was fine with that because he had a six-figure salary and a bunch of investments that he was turned onto by colleagues and his father-in-law. He grew up poor, and everything that he received he was grateful for it. Once they purchased their $750,000 first home, real life kicked in for him. He was lucky, and he knew that he was blessed. He never wanted to make hasty moves and lose everything. That’s why he took the last two years to get other things in order for himself to branch off from the Grayson’s and start on his own and be with Janiece.

He set things up so his children would definitely be able to go to college and they would have that house without a day’s worry. He incorporated spousal support and all the matters of their debts, so when he left Kimberly and her dad’s company behind, he’d land on his feet. With the help of Marcus, who was now partner of a large firm in Chicago, the time had finally come for him to give Janiece what she wanted. He already had his eye on the location where he wanted to buy her a home, and it was only a matter of weeks for him to open his very own business.

In all of his success, plans, and money, Janiece didn’t know any of it. She knew he and his wife did well, but she didn’t know how well. K.P. had always done things for Janiece and offered so many times to do way more, but she refused. Like when she wanted to buy her condo, he would have pulled all the strings necessary or even given her the loan himself, but she refused his help. She barely asked for anything, and when she did, it was always small. He’d buy groceries, fill up her tank, leave her a few hundred dollars, but she didn’t make him do any of that for her.

That’s why he was going to take care of her. He was going to make sure she had any and everything she wanted, but how was he going to do that? Just when he got everything in order, she was trying to leave him.

Janiece was trying to end it all before it even started. K.P. held back his tears. He went into the master bath and turned on the shower. He grabbed the remote and turned on the built-in stereo system and keyed in the code to play his station. Then he got in the shower and let the hot water pour over him. He closed his eyes and thought about Janiece, then sat down and grabbed the liquid shower gel and squeezed it onto his bath sponge. Wearily, he stood and began to lather up. He rinsed and repeated the same steps.

The water and steam felt so good he didn’t get out right away. He stood with one hand holding the wall and the other on his dick. Janiece and her hard nipples came to his mind. Brian McKnight’s “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” was playing on their audio system and the speakers installed in their bathroom allowed him to listen to music while he showered. He stroked himself while he thought about making love to her. Startled, he jerked out of his daydream when he felt a touch from behind. It was Kimberly, and he was unpleasantly surprised.

“What the hell are you doing?” he spat at her.

“I should be asking you the same thing,” she said with a smirk.

  “Get out.”

“Why? I can’t take a shower with you? You are still my husband, Kerry, and I want to enjoy any time that I’m able to spend with you before this is all over,” she said to him like he was supposed to hold up some bargain with her ’til the divorce was final.

“You got to be kidding me,” he said looking at her like she was crazy. He hadn’t seen her body naked in a while, and it wasn’t looking too bad. He figured her personal training was worth every dime.

“Look, I don’t want to be bothered with you right now, Kimberly, so go on and leave me alone.”

“Well, it looks like big man, here, feels a little different,” she said touching his erection. His erection started because of Janiece, but looking at Kimberly’s wet nipples from the shower made his dick stiffen even more.

“Stop that,” he said moving her hand.

“No,” she said touching him again. He didn’t want her, but his dick did. He let her hand stay where it was and let her stroke him a bit. She moved closer while stroking it, allowing the head to rub against her stomach. His dick was in heaven, but his mind was in hell. As bad as he wanted to push her away, he needed what she was giving him. He leaned back onto the shower wall and let her massage him. The next thing that happened was her sitting down on the tiled shower seat and taking him inside of her mouth.

He groaned and grabbed her hair out of pure pleasure while he wondered whose dick she had been practicing on because her skills for giving head had greatly improved. She was taking all ten inches in like a pro, bobbing her head on him like she was glad to be of service to him. He started rubbing her back. His groans were changing to moans as he enjoyed Kimberly taking him in and out of her mouth. Then, she stood up in front of him and they just stared at each other.

“Did you like that, daddy?” she asked him seductively.

  “Yes,” he whispered.

  “Do you want some more?”

“Yes,” he answered before he could stop himself. For the first time, he loved the feelings Kimberly was giving him. She licked and sucked on his dick like she sorely missed doing that job for him. She slapped it on her face, and he was so turned on by that. She had never done anything like that before. Then she stood on the seat and put her breast in his face. He didn’t hesitate to take one of her nipples into his mouth. He grabbed her right breast and sucked on it like it was a piece of candy.

She was getting hotter by the moment, so she grabbed his hand and put it in her spot to show him how wet her opening was and his dick throbbed with delight. He had never wanted to be inside of Kimberly that bad before. She was a petite woman, so she was easy to pick up. He lifted her off of the seat by her ass, and she wrapped her legs around his waist. In seconds, he plunged his thick dick into her tunnel and it was unbelievably tight. Only a couple of strokes brought him close to bursting, but he slowed up.

He turned and sat on the tiled seat and let her ride him. As good as she felt, he knew she had to have been fucking someone else because she had never ever been that good. She was always lazy and robotic, and that was one of the things he didn’t like. But, now, she was popping her pussy for him like a prized ho. He loved it so much he grabbed her head and began to kiss her passionately, something that he hadn’t done in years.

“You like it, baby?” she asked in his ear while she rode him.

“Yes, baby, I like it,” he responded as he enjoyed her wet pussy. He was in a trance and whatever Kimberly had up her sleeve for them to make love, it damn sure worked.

“Is my pussy good to you, daddy?” she asked whipping that shit on him like any desperate woman who was desperate to keep her man would.

“Oh yes, baby, your pussy feels good,” he said with his eyes closed. He was getting ready to bust one in her ’til she asked, “Is my pussy better than Janiece’s pussy, daddy?” and that woke him up and knock him out of his trance. The hypnotic state was gone, and he snapped.

“What the fuck did you just ask me?” he said, looking at her like she was a dude on the street.

“I, I, I ...” she stuttered wishing she hadn’t said that. His dick went completely limp. His heart started to pound. Why did she have to mention Jai’s name he wondered. That pissed him off.

  “Move …,”

“K.P., baby, I’m sorry. Please, honey, I shouldn’t have said that. I don’t know why I said that,” she said, wishing she could take it back.

“No, Kim, move. Get off. You just had to go there. You can’t leave well enough alone.”
>
“K.P., please, I don’t know why I said that. Don’t let that ruin our moment, please, Kerry. I missed you so much. I want you so bad,” she said trying to kiss him, but he pushed her away. He pushed her to the side and stood up, turned off the water, and stepped out. Angry, he wrapped a towel around his waist and walked into the bedroom. Kimberly put on her robe and followed him into the suite.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Leave me alone. That’s it—just leave me alone, Kim.”

“I can’t, Kerry. I love you, your kids need you, and you’re dumping us off for some fat-ass, home-wrecking bitch that don’t give a shit about you!” she yelled. She was crying, and she didn’t understand why after all these years and two children he still didn’t love her.

“You don’t know shit about her, Kim. You don’t know how she feels, or how things are between us. All you know is I don’t want you. And I’m not dumping my kids. I will always be there for my kids. I love them, Kim, it’s you I don’t love, and that is why you hate Janiece so much. Do you know how many times she has told me to stay away from her and work things out with my wife?

“Do you know how many times she has told me that I was an asshole for treating you so bad, huh? But I fell in love with her, Kim. I’ve tried to love you. I have tried, I swear I have, and I don’t want to hurt you, but you knew how things were when we got married. I did what you’ve asked. I tried, but it didn’t work, so please just give me the divorce, Kimberly, and find someone that’s going to love you the way you need to be loved, because I’m sorry, it’s not me.”

“You didn’t try; you started seeing that bitch three years after we got married. I’ve known since you and that tramp got together. You think I didn’t know that you were with that bitch all the nights you were out late? I sat up many nights waiting for you to come home to me, but you were at your bitch’s house.”

“I did try, but you so stuck on image and what the fuck people gon’ say that you walked around in this fantasyland like our shit is perfect. I do blame myself for marrying you and yes, I was wrong for going through with it, but you knew too. Kimberly, I want you to be happy. I want to be happy, and we are not happy with each other. Why do you want to continue to live like this?”

“Because I love you Kerry. I have always loved you. I can’t see myself with any other man but you. Kerry, please don’t end our marriage. If you want to stay with Janiece, continue to be with her, just don’t leave us, please. I can handle you and her. I’ve done it for this long, just don’t leave,” she pleaded, and K.P. was in total disbelief.

“Kim, listen to you. I hear you when you say you love me, but you can’t do this to yourself,” he said, feeling bad for her. He knew that she loved him, and he understood her pain. He was in a similar boat because he was wondering what was going on with the woman he loved and her new guest. “It’s not the end of the world, Kim. You are a beautiful woman, you are smart, classy, and you have a lot of love to give. I know this will not be easy. I’m not cold to just leave you without support. I will always be here for my kids, but you and I have to be friends. Kim, we have to be mature and get along so our kids can be all right.”

“If I’m so great, tell me why you can’t love me?” she said with tears rolling down her cheeks. He walked over to her and held her tight.

“I tried Kimberly, I tried baby. If I could make myself love you to keep you from hurting like this, I would in a heartbeat. I don’t want you to be hurt. I want you to be happy. There’s someone out there that will make you happy. I just can’t.”

“Kerry what does she give you that I don’t, what does she have that I don’t?”

“It’s not about that Kim. There’s nothing to compare. I can’t tell you why I love her. I didn’t plan for any of this to happen. The only thing I regret in all of this is hurting you. You are a good woman and you been so good to me. I don’t hate you and I don’t want this to get ugly.”

“She doesn’t love you. She’s just some gold-digging tramp that wants to get out of the ghetto. She’ll never love you the way I do,” she cried. “She’s a home wrecker and she must not have children because if she did, she would stop and check herself!” Kimberly barked.

K.P. knew that every word she spoke was out of anger and pain so he let her vent. After she spent the next few minutes saying all the negative things she could possibly say about Janiece she was exhausted. She sobbed, and he held her to let her cry. He didn’t bother to defend Janiece anymore, because even if he told her that Janiece had no clue about his money and she never opened her mouth to ask him to leave her and the kids, Kimberly wouldn’t believe him.

He just held her and let her sleep in his arms that night. He stayed awake wondering what was going on down on 95th Street. Once he settled with the situation being out of his control, he prayed for God to help Kimberly and give her the strength to move on. He prayed for direction and asked God to forgive him for leaving his wife. He asked God to allow him the chance to be a good husband to Janiece. Better than how he had been to Kimberly. He prayed for God to send Kimberly a good man and let him be a good husband and love her double the amount he loved Janiece.

Over the years he had with Kimberly, he knew she could be a good person when she wanted to be, and she deserved true happiness. His thoughts wandered, and he decided to get up early to go to the jewelers. He had to make a statement when he saw Janiece again and he had to come with it if he wanted to keep her.

  Chapter Fifteen

Saturday was an eventful day for Janiece. She was now finding herself thinking less of K.P. and more of Isaiah. The night before they stayed up all night getting closer to Isaiah. After they got back to the south side of Chicago, they went to a park not far from Janiece’s condo. They sat in the truck and ate their beef sandwiches and decided to climb in the backseat to cuddle.

The moon was bright, and they enjoyed the breeze that came in through the cracked window. The more they talked, the more she realized she hadn’t done much of anything in the past five years because she and K.P. had been homebound.

She just grew accustomed to the circumstances with K.P. and dealt with it. Every once in a blue moon, he’d get brave and take her to dinner, but it’s like they’d drive forever before he would actually pull into a restaurant parking lot. She remembered one year for her birthday, he took her to Las Vegas and that was the first and last time he had done something big for her. It was awesome because she got to be with him on the streets with no worries of running into a colleague or a client.

He was responsible for a lot of homes and business owners’ properties, and although Chicago is a huge city, he never wanted to risk being seen out with Janiece. He had his reasons, and Janiece always understood. When they went to Las Vegas, she had the time of her life with him. They kissed in public, held hands, and walked arm and arm. She felt like he was her king, and she didn’t want the trip to come to an end.

Once they were in the air, they starting acting like newlyweds. When the plane landed, they stood in the aisle waiting for the people in front of them to exit, damn near glued to each other. Just to walk through the airport hand in hand felt good to Janiece. She smiled the entire trip and not once did they argue. Even when he had to step off to the side to call home and fill his wife with the business-trip-related lies, she didn’t get an attitude. She had such a good time; she asked K.P. if they could just move and run away to live in Las Vegas. She remembered him saying, “Baby, Vegas is not Chicago. There is no city in the world that can compare to our Chicago.”

“In Chicago, we’re not free. In Chicago, our love only exists in my condo,” she said not wanting to cry. She loved Vegas so much because she could love K.P. all over that city with no worries.

“Baby, our love is way bigger than Chicago, and if you want me to move you to Vegas, I will if that’s what you want,” he said sincerely, because at that moment, K.P. wanted Janiece to have everything she wanted, but Janiece sometimes felt like he was just saying what she want
ed to hear, like telling her if she wanted him to take her to Vegas he would.

She knew then that it was all his game to keep her hanging on. That Saturday was different, though. She wasn’t going to keep hanging on. She was going to allow Isaiah to do all the things K.P. couldn’t do. He was her mind’s escape from the beguiling K.P.. After spending just a little time with Isaiah and being able to go freely, she felt that she turned into K.P.’s ass on the side—his booty call, because the last couple years there weren’t any dates, just him coming through and having his way with her.

Janiece got up and looked around her room for Isaiah. They had lain in her bed about five a.m. to get some sleep. He was no longer there in bed with her, and the smell of food hit her nose. She looked over at the clock on her nightstand. It read 1:30 p.m. She couldn’t believe she had slept so long. She got up and went to the bathroom because it was her bladder that woke her up.

After washing her hands and brushing her teeth, she washed her face and brushed her hair a bit. It wasn’t too bad, but she didn’t want to go into the kitchen looking crazy. Satisfied, she walked into the kitchen and saw her new potential man preparing a meal. Now that was something K.P. had never done. He was a terrible cook, so she prepared all of their meals.

“Good afternoon,” he said when she walked into the kitchen.

“Good afternoon, to you. It smells good,” she said getting a glass from the cabinet.

“No, no have a seat, Ms. Lady,” Isaiah said, taking the flute from her hand. He led her back into the dining area and pulled out a chair. She didn’t fight; she just allowed him to cater to her.

Her purse and keys were on the table so she grabbed them to put them on the love seat that sat behind her, near her table. But first, she pulled her cell phone out to check it. There were nine missed calls, and all but two were from K.P.. She remembered she needed to call Sprint to change her cell phone number, but she stuffed her phone into her purse then Isaiah came with a champagne flute of orange juice.
