Bond animals-animals that exist on both planets that can form a telepathic bond after a ritual is completed. Avalians and Cendians either lost the ability to bond with their fire and ice or the bond animals stopped guiding them. Reappear with the special children born to the king and advisors that died the same night. Elan and Isolde trust their bond animals with everything until it becomes apparent they are keeping secrets from them
Isolde-The Avalian princess. Father King Henrick and all his advisors died the same night and her mother fell pregnant. Estranged from Fjola, her mother. Has the ability to control ice, read minds, steal thoughts through touch, and plant suggestions mentally. Has an arranged marriage with Elan. Trained by her uncle Jovin. Has to hide her gifts or Avalians would use her to attack Cendis.
Elan-Cendian prince. Mother, Sartika. Father died like Isolde’s father. Due to the suspicious nature of Cendians and the way his father and his advisors died, has to hide in baggy shirts and pretend to throw tantrums. If Cendians suspected Elan of having gifts, he would be burned alive. Secretly fights in Cendian fighting pits in costume and can move things with his mind.
Fjola-Queen Regent of Avala. Secret faction member and lover of faction leader, Viljar. Has to push Isolde away as she grew to keep her safe.
Sartika-Queen regent of Cendis. Secret faction member. Has been conspiring with Fjola on Avala to marry their two children and form and alliance.
Jovin-secret faction member. Isolde’s uncle and trainer. Initially suspected of poisoning King Henrik and his advisors the night the died. A deadly and competent fighter, but vain and visits Avalian surgeons for upgrades to his appearance.
Botak secret faction member. Elan’s cousin and trainer. Deadly fighter. Secretly in love with Galih, but has to meet in secret or they would both be burned.
Soelva-A Qunelope. A large species of bear that only exists on Avala. Over eight feet tall with blood red noses. Bonded to Isolde. Known enemy to the Qunelope, the pink nosed bear.
Tati-A Pawswearsea. A large species of black cat that resembles a panther. Native to Cendis. Almost seven feet tall with blood red eyes. Bonded to Elan.
Viljar-Faction leader on Avala. Instrumental in building blink drive and builds tech for factions on both planets. Lover to Fjola. Assumes he is Isolde’s father. Tries to have input raising her from afar, but keeps his distance so she can’t read his mind. Over the years since the factions had started, Viljar’s family have developed tech, truth serum, and various other compounds for aiding the factions and vetting new members.
Galih-faction leader on Cendis. Dictates Elan’s training. The only person on Cendis aware of who is who and who can do what in the factions and among the special children.
Waljans The name given to all the children born the same night as Elan and Isolde. Sixteen on both planets. Old Earth name that means “Chosen”

-Nia and Joakim Nia is from Cendis and Joakim Avala. Both have the ability to plant images in the mind. Trained in healing and intends to use their ability to plant pleasant images in the sick and dying to ease their transition. Nia and Joakim have both completed the first year of university in medical training on their respective planets
-Atikah and Sonja-Atikah is from Cendis and Sonja is from Avala. They both have the ability to torture with her mind. Atikah discovered her gifts as a child and was previously only able to learn to control it until later in Child of Fire, Child of Ice when she had test subjects. Sonja was given limited access to practice on criminals. Sonja bonded with Sura from Cendis and Atikah is bonded with Astvar from Avala
-Gareng and Jon Gareng is from Cendis and Jon is from Avala. They have the ability to manipulate memories. Unable to practice until later in life. Trained in Cendian tech and computers. Gareng is bonded to Alva from Avala and Jon is bonded to Nia
Karta and Bella- Karta is Cendian and Bella is Avalian. Can send a high pitch frequency to either disable or torture. Karta practiced frequently on her trainer to knock unconscious if she didn’t want to do a lesson. Bella trained on hardened criminals. Karta is smallest of all the Waljans and bonded to Finn from Avala. Bella bonded to Oleh from Cendis.
Eros and Alva-Eros is from Cendis and Alva is from Avala. Both can manipulate sleep and dreams. Frequently knocked his trainer out to train with his bond animal to get better at fighting. Eros is bonded with Palina from Avala and Alva is bonded to Gareng
Oleh and Rolf- Oleh is from Cendis and Rolf is from Avala. Both can put up barriers in your mind and make you forget anything. Oleh is trained in Avalian tech and Rolf studies farming. Oleh is bonded to Bella and Rolf is bonded to Rusita
Rusita and Astvar- Rusita is Cendian and Astvar is Avalian. They both can learn and teach through touch. Rusita is bonded to Rolf and Astvar is bonded to Atikah
Jaka and Palina- Jaka is from Cendis and Palina is from Avala. They both have short visions of the future and saw glimpses of their bond mate. Jaka is bonded with Lusinda and Palina is bonded with Eros
Dasimah and Finn-Dasimah is from Cendis and Finn is from Avala. Both can switch minds with someone. Both were allowed to practice on their trainers. Finn bonded with Karta and Dasimah bonded with Dasimah bonded with Parta and was the only bonding that didn’t mix Cendian and Avalian
Sura and Mina- Sure is from Cendis and Mina is from Avala. They can both see an energy around people. Sura is bonded to Sonja and Mina is bonded to Joakim
Parta and Lusinda-Parta is from Cendis and Lusinda is from Avala. They both intuition during fights and can sense a move before it’s made. Lusinda is bonded to Eros and Parta and Freyja bonded
Diah and Freyja- Diah is from Cendis and Freyja is from Avala. They are both empaths. Diah is bonded to Otto and Freyja is bonded to Odah
Odah and Braggi-Odah is from Cendis and Braggi is from Avala. They can both sense when someone is about to die. Braggi is bonded to Ani and Odah is bonded to Freyja
Ani and Otto- Ani is from Cendis and Otto is from Avala. They can both cause a total mental breakdown. Otto is bonded to Diah and Ani is bonded to Braggi
Wida and Bruno-Wida is from Cendis and Bruno is from Avala. They both can do mind control. Bruno is bonded to Dasimah and Wida is bonded to Otto
Autrikxian-an ancient species of being from an advanced civilization. Supernatural abilities come from genetic mutations passed down genetically and developed from the atmosphere. Created four planets after leaving Autrikxia, including humans and Earth. All have telepathy and bond mates

Zuberi-Elan’s father. Has the ability of creation and telekinesis. Born from sharing abilities during a cosmic event. The people of Autrikxia wanted to use his abilities to capture slaves

Anders-not born to Than. Joined because he was promised Isolde as a prize
Halah-Known Cendian Dysdaimon
Hikmat-Cult leader of The Children of Fia. Runs illegal fighting ring and preaches hate. Intends to kill Isolde and capture Elan to assume the throne.
Hendra-Hikmat’s twin. Intends to betray Hikmat after he takes the throne by paying his own assassin to kill him
Halah-Hikmat’s relative. Locked away because he was assumed insane and would burn alive for it on Cendis. Using verbal information about Avalian tech, he’s been making tracking chips and weapons for Hikmat. Later determined he was created similarly to the Waljans and there are more like him that are intent on killing them.
The Dysdaimons-the name given to Halah and the others like him. It is assumed there are sixteen on both planets like there are with the Waljans, but their exact number is unknown. The name Dysdaimon is an old Greek word that means Ill starred, since at this point, they all believe they were awaked by Isolde and Elan’s bond. They know the Dysdaimons have a father named Than and that he raped several women one night sixteen years ago. They know the Dysdaimons inherited his gift of being immune to mental attacks, but that is all they know. They have no idea where they are or when they will come. The bond animals are not as worried as the Waljans, but they won’t say why
