Everything's Better With Kimberly
Page 18
I knew this was a serious moment but I really wish she hadn’t used the word blowing because I was fighting one hell of a flashback.
“Maybe I could try the submarine?” She shrugged.
“There is no way we’re doing anything that you are not a hundred percent psyched about. Your smile is what’s going to make this day ‘awesome’ for me.”
She turned to me and grinned but her eyes were full of tears.
“Hey, it’s okay.” She grabbed my face and kissed me taking me by surprise.
“Thank you,” she whispered and sniffled.
“For what?” I asked. Not forcing her to get in a submarine? I wondered to myself. Something didn’t add up.
“For being you and being so understanding about my anxiety. I know I can be difficult…” Her voice trailed off and she was looking into her lap where she was twisting her fingers.
“Kimberly, you never have to thank me for being understanding about your anxiety. I love you and that means I love everything about you, including and especially your anxiety.” I pulled her into my lap so she was straddling me and turned her cheek so we were eye to eye.
“You say that now, but—”
“Kimberly, I will always say that. Your anxiety brought us together on that plane. Your anxiety saved our asses when the models weren’t delivered. Your anxiety is the reason I got to wake up with you in my arms on that couch. Don’t forget about how you saved my toe.” I winked, making her giggle.
“I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I understand how you feel because I know you go through some rough shit, but whatever I can do and however I can help I’ll do it. I’m here. I’m dug in. I’m crazy about you with a big emphasis on the crazy.”
She laughed her deep, all-encompassing laugh that made my heart swell.
“And if seeing you smile like this means I have to avoid underground caves and submarines, I can definitely live with that.”
She nodded and I pulled her in to kiss her again.
“Is there something you’re not telling me?” I asked, while dragging my fingertips up and down her back.
“Let’s just say that my ex wasn’t as understanding as you are.” She gave me a small half smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
“That’s it? That’s all I’m getting?” I asked.
Her smile faded and she looked away. “It’s just hard for me to talk about. I’ve only discussed it with my family and my therapist.”
“I understand. You know I’ll never pressure you but talking to you makes me feel better and if we’re going to have an awesome day it might help to get it off your chest. We can go find a dark bathroom if you want.”
Her lips twitched in an almost smile.
“Maybe,” she said while interlocking our fingers and bicycling our arms, “but not now, okay?”
“Fine, but you have to promise me something.” I wrapped her arms around my neck and folded mine around her waist. “You have to do your very best to not think about whatever this is and focus on having fun today. Because if you’re thinking about it then I’ll be thinking about you thinking about it. Then you’ll probably start thinking about me thinking about you thinking about it and then I’ll —” I was interrupted by Kimberly covering my mouth with hers in a forceful kiss before she pulled away with a loud smacking sound.
“Is your goal to annoy me until I tell you?” She laughed and tightened her grip on my neck.
“No, my goal was to make you smile.” I smirked and waggled my eyebrows at her. She narrowed her eyes at me and kissed me again. I stood up cradling her ass in my hands with her arms and legs wrapped around my torso and started walking towards the ocean. “My new goal is getting you soaking wet.”
“You don’t need the ocean for that,” she whispered.
I meant it as a double entendre, but Kimberly’s unexpected response made me so hard, so quickly that I didn’t know how I was going to be able to make it a full day without being inside her.
After a couple hours at the beach and lunch at one of the resort’s other restaurants we decided the best plan was no plan. We had access to one of Barbados’ best tour guides and he was also one of our favorite people.
“So, your majesty,” I kissed her hand as I helped her climb into the SUV, “the plan is for Francis to spend the next few hours just driving around the island. If we see something interesting we’ll stop, if we don’t, we’ll just keep going.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to go jet skiing or parasailing or something else?”
“Not without you.” I interlocked our fingers and squeezed as Francis pulled out of The Sterling’s main parking lot.
“Can I hold your hand the whole time?” she grinned.
“I’d take it personally if you didn’t.”
Francis drove us to three different museums where I found out that Kimberly likes to stop and read the plaques next to every exhibit. At the racetrack, Kimberly discovered my secret obsession with horse racing. I don’t gamble but I love the sport. We went to the Waterfront Café in Bridgetown where we both discovered that Bajan pepper sauce was not the same as tabasco sauce and should come with a warning label.
I made a reservation at Il Tempio for sunset, since we loved the food so much yesterday, but were too sad to enjoy it. We ate four courses and two desserts. Kimberly even had a half a glass of Chianti.
On the way to the Sterling, we passed a karaoke bar and the half a glass of wine that Kimberly drank at dinner wanted to go in. She was adorable when she was tipsy, but I really needed her to sober up before we got back. She sang to me— Jill Scott’s “A Long Walk.” I sang to her —Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl.” We danced and we drank club sodas for hours until she was ready to leave.
“This was the best fourth date ever,” she said once we were back in the car. She had my hand sandwiched between her tiny ones resting in her lap with her head on my shoulder.
“So you’re conceding to my three date argument?”
“Are you going be insufferable about it if I do?”
“Oh, I’m having t-shirts made. I won an argument with Kimberly Simmons.”
She laughed and playfully slapped my chest reminding me of the video chat with Nate and Abby. A little over a year ago, my older brother called me and told me he was marrying a woman he’d only known for a few weeks and I thought he was crazy. Now, I completely understood.
“So, does that make lunch with Matthew and Vittoria a double date?” she asked.
“No, that was torture. I had to watch you eat those olives, then not be able to pull you into the bathroom and fuck you up against the sink.” She gasped and flicked a look at Francis who didn’t seem to have heard me or had a hell of a poker face.
“Is that why you kept ordering olives at dinner?” She laughed.
“No,” I lied. “I just knew that you liked them.”
“So why didn’t you pull me into the bathroom and fuck me against the sink tonight?”
I looked at her in shock. This was the second time today her mouth managed to catch me off guard. The blood rushed to my dick so fast I felt it strain against my zipper.
“Um,” I stammered, “I didn’t think you would be into that.”
She put her face next my ear and whispered, “You didn’t think I’d want you to drag me into that bathroom…” Her lips grazed the shell of my ear with each word, “Lock the door, pull my dress up to my waist, tear my panties off and bury your giant cock in me so incredibly deep that you’d have to cover my mouth with yours so no one in the restaurant could hear me screaming?”
What. The. Fuck?
“Kimberly, are you still drunk?”
She giggled and shook her head.
I exhaled slowly and swallowed the lump in my throat. “If you say one more word, Francis is gonna see some shit that he can never unsee.”
She replied with something in Italian and I almost lost it.
“You are playing with fire, Princess.” I covered her mouth with mine
and slipped a hand under her dress. Her lace panties were soaked. I pulled them to the side and slid a finger into her wetness and lightly brushed her clit with my thumb. She let out a small gasp and rocked her hips forward. I couldn’t have her like this, not the way I wanted to. I reluctantly withdrew my hand. “Francis, how far are we from the Sterling?”
“Ten minutes,” he called from the driver’s seat, his eyes never leaving the road.
Could I fucking last ten minutes? Kimberly grabbed the wrist of the hand that I’d slid between her thighs and brought the glistening middle finger to her mouth and sucked it clean.
“Can you make it five minutes?” she asked, echoing my thoughts.
He chuckled and responded, “I’ll do my best.”

“Feel Better?” I leaned over and kissed her.
“Much better.” She smiled at me. We were sitting on the bed. Kimberly was wearing an oversized terry cloth robe and running a giant comb through her wet hair. I was in nothing but a towel. Her feet into my lap and I was rubbing them.
“Taking showers together is so much more efficient. Don’t you think?” She gave me a sexy grin.
“Absolutely. You can get so many things done in there. I’m never taking another shower alone.” I winked at her. She laughed. “Are you almost done? I have another surprise for you?”
“I’m so tired. I don’t think I could take another surprise.”
“This is a good one.”
“Do I have to get dressed?”
“I would prefer if you didn’t.”
“Okay. Now, I’m intrigued. Lead the way.”
I pulled on a pair of pajama pants, scooped her into my arms.
“Close your eyes, gorgeous.” I carried her out of our bedroom and upstairs to the rooftop balcony. I set her down on her feet.
“Open them.”
“Wow, Adam!” she gasped. “This is so beautiful! When did you do this?”
There was king-sized bed set up in the middle of the deck decorated with fairy lights. I also knew there was a refrigerator on the roof deck stocked with our favorite late night snacks. I hoped there was also a box of condoms stashed in the barbecue grill. I called the concierge desk this morning while Kimberly was in the shower and let them know when we’d be out of the apartment.
“Are we going to sleep out here?”
“That was the plan,” I said. She jumped into my arms and kissed me. We fell on the bed with Kimberly straddling me. “I should have moved a bed up here sooner.”
“This is so amazing. Thank you.” She leaned forward and kissed me again before rolling to the side and tucking her shoulder into the crook of my arm and resting her head my chest.
“Hold on. It gets better.” I reached over and felt for the small plastic box attached to the string of lights wrapped around the bedpost and flicked the switch extinguishing the tiny bulbs, causing the rooftop to darken and illuminating the night sky. We looked up to gaze at the moon and stars. The only sound was our breath and the ocean crashing against the cliffs below.
“This is damn near perfect,” she sighed.
“What’s missing?”
“Food.”
“Luckily for you, I thought of everything.” I tried to sit up and she pushed me back down on the mattress, straddling me again.
“Can you let me do one thing for you today?” She leaned forward and kissed me. “Where is it?”
I pointed to the refrigerator in the corner of the deck.
“I’ll be right back.”
I rolled onto my side and propped my head up on my fist to watch her walk to the refrigerator. She was still wrapped in the bathrobe and I couldn’t wait to see her beautiful body bathed in moonlight. Her damp hair was already starting to coil and inch up her back as it dried.
“Adam,” she called from the corner of the deck. “Why is there a box of condoms in the refrigerator?”
“They were supposed leave them in the grill,” I said. She chuckled and returned carrying a tray of food with the box of condoms sticking out of her robe pocket.
I took the tray from her and helped her into bed where we fed each other snacks and recapped the day.
“This might have been the best day of my life.” She kissed me with a mouthful of grapes.
“Might?” I rolled over to face her, raised an eyebrow and tugged at the belt of her robe. “Challenge accepted.”
I sat up and pulled her into my lap so she was straddling me again. I pulled the robe over her shoulders exposing her delicate features and flawless complexion. Her lotion made her skin glow as it reflected the light. Her mane of curls framed her face and the moonlight made her look like goddess. I leaned back, interlaced my fingers behind my head and stared up at her.
“What are you looking at?”
“The most beautiful woman in the world.”
“Is she standing behind me?” She grinned biting her lip and I laughed pulling her down to me. “Should we ask her to join us?”
“Who are you?” I whispered to her, inches from her lips.
She gave me a mischievous smirk and kissed me before sitting up and tugging at my pajama pants. I sat up to try to help her but she pushed me down.
“Don’t you move.”
I put my hands behind my head again and watched as she pulled a condom from the box and warmed it between her hands. She wrapped a hand around my dick and stroked before giving me a sexy grin while taking my crown into her mouth and gently sucking. I let out an involuntary groan as I watched her head rise and fall. I tangled my fingers in her curls and I rolled my hips as she brought me deeper and deeper past her lips. Her soft hand was still stroking the base of cock and I felt my balls tighten.
“Kimberly,” I groaned. “I’m gonna come.”
She lifted her head and met my eye. The look on her face was the sexiest fucking thing I’d ever seen. She was in total control.
“You can’t come yet, Adam Price,” she whispered, “I’m not even close to being done with you.”
She ran the tip of her tongue around the head of my dick and sat up. She slowly tore open a foil wrapper, pulled out the condom and carefully rolled it over my dick with one hand while pinching the reservoir tip with the other. It looked exactly like a health class demonstration but I was way too horny to tease her about it. I was just glad she got it on the first try. She looked at me with a proud grin on her face before climbing on top of me slowly lowering herself on my cock.
Her tight little pussy enveloped me in warmth as I gripped her waist and let out a growl. Kimberly moaned and rocked her hips back and forth. I guided her up and down as I tried to make this feeling last as long as I possibly could. Being inside someone had never felt so good. I’ve never felt so much for anyone.
“Best. Day. Ever.” She gasped between each word after she collapsed onto my chest.
My fingers were tangled in her curls and I kissed the top her head. I looked at my watch. “With fifteen minutes to spare.”
She giggled, rolled off of me and tucked herself into the crook of my arm so she could look up at the sky. “Have you ever made love outside like this before?”
“Nope. That was another first.”
“If I’d known it was your first time, I would’ve been gentler.” She planted a kiss on my chest.
“Then I’m glad I didn’t tell you.” I kissed her and wrapped my arms around her. “Are you comfortable? Do you want me to grab some pajamas?”
“No, I’m fine.” She wrapped her arms around me and pressed our bodies together, wrapping her leg around mine and tucking her toes between my calves.
“How are your toes cold when it’s so warm outside?”
She giggled and shrugged. “I guess I’m lucky I have you to warm them up.”
“Ah, so that’s why you came back.” I tickled her.
“That and my phone charger.”
I kissed the mischievous smile off of her face. A meteor streaked across the sky and Kimber
ly pointed at it.
“Did you see that?” she asked.
“Yup. Are we supposed to make a wish or something?”
“I don’t know what to wish for. There are two things I really want, but if I get one then I can’t have the other.” She looked at me and her sadness was palpable.
I knew exactly how she felt. I’ve been working on this project for months. Landing this deal would come with a raise, a bonus and a big metaphorical fuck you to my father. I could put a down payment on the land for my house. I could pick and choose my projects at WP. In ten years, I could start my own firm. It was everything I’ve been busting my ass for since my parents disowned me. It was my dream. But now I wasn’t sure if I wanted any of it if I meant I couldn’t be with Kimberly.
“What if we both wish for a way to get everything we want? That's double the wishing power. That’s gotta be worth something.”
She chuckled.
“And what if we made a promise that whatever happens in New York, we’ll find a way to make it work? I meant every word I said today. I can’t go back to the way my life was before I met you.” I reached out and stroked her cheek, but I couldn’t read her expression. “Kimberly?”
“How could we do that?”
“I don’t know, but I figured since you’re pretty good at finding solutions for problems, maybe we could figure it out together.” I pulled her close to me, ran my hands up and down her back and kissed her forehead, then her nose, then her lips.
She stroked my stubbled cheek. “How are you not taken? Seriously?”
“I know I’m supposed to say I was waiting for you and I’m starting to believe that’s the truth, but I’ve never wanted a relationship before. I’ve never seen a good one and with work keeping me busy, it just wasn’t a priority.”
“What about Renee? You couldn’t see yourself in a relationship with her?” she asked. I didn’t want to have any secrets from Kimberly but I was trying to figure out a way to describe what Renee and I had without sounding like an asshole.
