“Can I keep this?” she asked, referring to the money.

“Yeah, man, shit! Now, get the hell out of my face!” he said, mushing her.

“Nigga, you don’t even give your babies’ mamas money!” Siah said.

“I take care of my kids! That’s all that matters!” Sameer said smirking.

“Y’all are some crazy-ass people! Y’all know that?” Lo-Lo asked.

“Lo-Lo hush that shit up! I don’t say shit about your big-ass family! Latavia’s mama can barely fit through the door! With her big ass! And your mama killed her dog! He was stuck in her ass for two days before she realized she sat on it!” Sameer said.

I charged into him then Lo-Lo pushed me back. “You are my cousin and I love you! I really do, but do not put your hands on that nigga! I don’t touch Kenjay’s funny-looking behind when he talks his shit!” Lo-Lo said to me. Sameer threw his arm around her shoulder, smiling. Everyone else was cracking up.

“Bitch, he has a woman! You are not his woman!” I told Lo-Lo.

“When we are together, we are together! I don’t give a fuck what that nigga does when he goes home, although he doesn’t stay there long!” she said.

“Look, y’all two are both wasting time! Can y’all cook something, damn! And Lo-Lo don’t be pulling any pickled sausages out of your purse and have my kitchen smelling like Latavia’s mama’s feet!” Kenjay said.

“KENJAY!” I said, smacking his arm. He gave me that smirk like he always does.

“Baby, when your mother was over here the other day and took her shoes off, I almost put her hefty ass out! She did that shit on purpose because she doesn’t like me!” Kenjay said and everyone fell out.

“Let me go into this kitchen before I lose my mind!” I said walking off.

  An hour later…

Britain wobbled in with O’Shea. Now, it was a full house. There had never been this many people over our house at once. I guess Kenjay and I needed this! We had been so shut off from everyone over the past few months. This was what we needed. Jameer’s girlfriend even came over. I hated that simple bitch!

“Where is Shia?” I asked Britain.

“At Kenjay’s restaurant helping my mama. Girl, since he put her in charge, she been feeling herself! Do you know she picked up a French accent? I’m too through with my damn mama!” Britain said.

“Are you Britain, the model for Malore? OH MY GOSH!” Bria screamed.

“Yes, I am!” Britain smiled. Lo-Lo rolled her eyes at Bria.

“Bitch, can you not scream like that in my fucking ear? What the fuck is wrong with you?” Lo-Lo asked her. Bria put her hand in Lo-Lo’s face.

“Don’t talk to me side-piece! But in your case, your sloppy ass is the whole damn meal! You are fucking my friend, Narshae’s, baby daddy!” Bria said.

“JAMMMEEEERRRRRRRR!” I called out. He came running into the kitchen.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” he asked.

“Your girlfriend is coming for my cousin in my damn house!” I told him.

Britain shook her head, chewing on the fresh brownies I made for her.

“Bria, I told you about that shit! Mind your damn business!” he told her.

“Yeah, she ought to before I bust her in her shit! Jameer, get your bitch away from me!” Lo-Lo said to him.

Sameer walked in. “You need to cheat on her ass like I cheat on my baby mama! I bet she would learn then! All you need to do is get another broad pregnant! That will give her some act right!” Sameer said. Not only did he just say that in Bria’s face, Sameer was serious about what he just said.

I burst into tears and Sameer grilled me. “Yo, I’m sick of you and all of these crazy-ass mood swings! Fuck is your dumb ass crying for now?” he asked me.

“Y’all stress me out! Y’all really do! I just want to hit you so damn bad! I have never met someone who is so damn simple!” I said, walking to the door because someone was ringing the bell. Kenjay hopped over the couch like they do in the Olympics.

“Get your ass down!” he said, tackling me then all of a sudden bullets started flying into our house. Kenjay must have seen them in front of the house on the TV when they rang the doorbell.

He covered my body then Sameer, Jameer, Siah, and O’Shea escorted everyone to the basement. Moments later, they came back with guns that looked like they belonged in Iraq. I knew damn well Kenjay’s sneaky ass didn’t have all that shit up in here.

  BOOM! BOOM!

The feathers in the pillows on the couch burst open. Siah got down under the busted out window looking out of a scope then she fired. They started shooting at whoever was shooting at the house from out of the living room windows.

“Bitch-ass niggas!” she hollered. I crawled into the kitchen under the island. Kenjay was bleeding but that didn’t stop him for wielding that big-ass gun O’Shea handed to him.

For the next ten minutes, all you heard were gunshots and car alarms. This was the only time I wished we had neighbors. The shots stopped and the gun smoke filled the entire downstairs level. I coughed and my eyes burned.

“Hey, bay-bay!” Kenjay called out to me. I couldn’t answer because I was still shaken up.

“Latavia, fuck you at girl?” he asked, calling out. He then tripped over my feet.

“Owww, shit, girl! Damn!” he said holding his head because he hit it on the stove. I jumped on him, hugging him tightly, kissing his face with tears in my eyes.

His strong arms hugged me back. “Calm down, shorty! Those niggas are dead!” he said.

I stood up and my legs were wobbly. “You been hit?” he asked me, examining my body.

  “No, Kenjay!” I said.

  “You sure?” he asked.

“Yes, nigga, I been shot before! I know what it feels like!” I snapped then he grilled me.

“Ay, nigga, what are we going to do with these bodies?” Siah asked.

  “Burn them up!” Kenjay answered.

Britain walked upstairs, stepping on broken glass. “What the fuck is going on?” she yelled holding her stomach. O’Shea rushed to her.

“You good?” he asked her. She snatched away from him.

“Why are you so comfortable holding that gun like that?” she asked him. Britain should know by now that O’Shea wasn’t just some rapper.

“Britain, right now isn’t the time for this stupid shit!” he yelled at her.

“Oh, nigga, it is! Do you know this can fuck up our life! What if this shit leaks to the press? Then what?” she asked.

“I don’t give a fuck about that! Do you not fucking understand that we could’ve been killed? I’m busting back! Fuck type a nigga do you think I am? What you wanted me to do? Hide in the basement with y’all like some bitch-made nigga? You worried about some damn press when our fucking lives are more important! Just be happy that everybody in this fucking house is alive! Fuck the press!” he yelled at her. Damn, she just pissed him off.

“I can’t take this shit!” she said.

“Shut the hell up and go sit down! Motherfuckers in here almost got murked and you talking about yourself, worrying about your spotlight!” he said to her.

“Sit your ass down!” he yelled at her, making me sit down.

“Stand your ass up, girl! Fuck is wrong with you?” Kenjay asked while he and his cousins laughed.

“Why is there a car still running?” Lo-Lo asked.

“Oh, shit Beans!” Kenjay said running out of the house.

  Kenjay

I forgot I invited Beans and his girl over. I ran out of the house to his car and it was riddled with bullet holes. Melah was slumped over, with bullets in her upper body. Beans was choking on his own blood. I pulled him out and his body was riddled with bullet holes. Any one of us could’ve shot them since they were caught right in the middle of the crossfire.

“Naw, man! NO!” I said as blood poured from his mouth.

“Come on, man! You are a trooper! You a G! You can’t go out like this!” I told him. Tears fell down
his face as he squeezed my hand. Seconds later, his hand let mine go.

“BEANS!” I said trying to shake him.

“Come on, Kenjay! He’s dead!” Sameer said to me.

“No he isn’t! We need to get him to the hospital!” I said, trying to get him up. O’Shea, Sameer, and Jameer pulled me off of him.

I heard Latavia scream then I rushed to her. She held a mask in her hand. She must have pulled it off of one of the bodies sprawled out in the driveway.

  It was her brother Tuchie.

“Help me!” he whispered out to her. I pulled my switchblade out. They drug her away as she screamed but I didn’t care about that shit!

I cut his throat then spit on him. “Help that, you bitch-ass nigga!” I said, kicking him in the head.

I pulled the mask off of the second body and it was her cousin, Kyzie. There was one more body. I pulled his mask off and it was Shaw. I was happy these niggas were dead because I was just thinking of a way to knock them all off! Now, I needed to get to the root of all of this shit!

A Navigator pulled up and a nigga with dreads hopped out. He looked young, like around twenty-one or so.

“Damn, I’m late!” he said looking at the dead bodies sprawled out.

“Who the fuck are you, nigga, and what the fuck are you doing at my crib?” I asked him. Sameer aimed his gun at him then he smiled.

“Look, nigga! I didn’t want to come here! Y’all Chinese-looking motherfuckers look crazy! And, nigga, if I was you I would put that gun down!” he barked.

“Nigga, we don’t know you!” Siah said.

“I don’t know y’all motherfuckers, either!” he said then another man hopped out with a choppa. He stood next to the dread head. The dread head smiled, showing his diamond grill.

“This is my little brother, Corey. and I’m Royal!” the tall nigga said.

Leodonis got out from the back. “We meet again!” he said. I charged towards him but the dread head pushed me back. Sameer and Jameer grabbed me.

“You had something to do with this, you punk-ass nigga? You just wait, nigga! I’m going to murk your ass!” I told him.

“That’s no way to talk to your father, now is it, son?” he asked, smirking.

“Kenjay got the same smirk as his daddy! Damn, his daddy fine!” I heard Lo-Lo’s nosey ass say.

“I told you yesterday that I’m not your son!” I said to him.

“Your mother cheated on my brother with me a few times! I didn’t know anything about you at first!” he said in his accent. This was the same shit he tried telling me yesterday at my grandmother’s house. I walked off on him because there was too much shit going on. Now, he was in the front of my house talking out of his head.

“Nigga, you sure this your son? He looks almost Asian and Latino! I thought you said he was black? This nigga looks more foreign than you do!” Corey said to Leodonis. I could tell I wasn’t going to like this nigga too much.

“You got us standing out here like we’re in a Bruce Lee movie with all these chingy-eye fuckers!” the nigga Corey said to Leodonis.

“Fuck you, nigga! Only thing foreign is my fucking artillery! Y’all niggas need to take this cracker-ass nigga off of my fucking property! I’m not banging with y’all clowns! My house got shot up with my family in there and one of my niggas is dead! Don’t fuck with me!” I said.

“Clown? Nigga, you got the game fucked up! You must not have heard about me!” Royal said to me.

“Nigga, I don’t give a fuck about you! Fuck out of here before we start shooting!” I told them.

“Javier is the cause of all of this! If you don’t want to know what’s going on then that’s cool! I’m out of here!” Leodonis said in his heavy accent. He walked to the truck and, before getting in, gave me that smirk. The dread head grilled me before getting into the driver’s seat.

“You are real fucking lucky that you are his son!” Royal said to me.

“Naw, nigga, you’re lucky we’re not out on the streets and my fucking shorty is standing here! Fuck wit me!” I said. He bit his bottom lip shaking his head then got into the truck. They pulled off.

“Let’s load these bodies up in my van, so we can blow it up!” I said.

Latavia cried out for her brother. “You killed my brother! You fucking killed him!” she screamed at me.

“Bitch, fuck him! He tried to kill us! Your brother doesn’t give a fuck about you! He doesn’t even like you! He knew you were home! He saw my car out here, too! He was going to take us all out!” Lo-Lo fussed as Latavia cried.

“Yo, let’s get this shit away from my house!” I said.

Siah walked out and hosed the blood down from in front of the house before it dried up. O’Shea, Sameer, and Jameer put the three bodies in the back of my old beat up van, the vehicle I used to transport my work.

Britain, Bria, Latavia and Lo-Lo just looked on in horror.

Now, I just needed to get Beans and Melah to their families without being seen.

  Latavia

“How does this fit?” my client asked me. She was the wife of a baseball player who played for the Baltimore Orioles. My brother’s funeral was tomorrow. Well, his ceremony because his body was badly burned. I could not believe that he tried to kill me. I also stood there and watched the love of my life kill my brother without flinching. Kenjay was a drug dealer and a murderer. He was everything that I should stay away from, but I still loved him just as much as I did before all this chaos.

Tuchie and I had always been distant. My cousin, Kyzie, I wasn’t too fond of because he followed behind Tuchie. I hadn’t heard from Dizzy and I was surprised he wasn’t out there with them while they shot up our house. I just wanted this street war to end. Kenjay had a lot on his plate that he was not really telling me. I know that the man he believed was his father was trying to kill him but he didn’t know why.

I felt empty inside because a part of me was mourning Tuchie, Dayquan and Kyzie, and another part of me felt like they deserved it. They knew I was home. They even knew Lo-Lo was there. They wouldn’t have given a damn if they’d killed us.

“Oh my, Latavia! Are you okay, honey?” Charlotte asked rubbing my back.

“I’m sorry, I’m just having a moment!” I told her, trying to get myself together.

“We can always reschedule. The championship party isn’t for another two weeks!” she said then I smiled at her.

“No! I’m fine! I just had a death in the family! I’m emotional right now but I will be okay!” I said, wiping my eyes.

“I think we should try this pretty black dress. The red is too busy and loud. This black one is more elegant and the way the neckline plunges is sexy, yet classy! Oh, and all you need is some bad-ass black stilettos and diamonds to bring this dress out. I have the perfect idea for your make-up. I’m thinking cat eyes with dark eye shadow and nude lipstick. You are going to look sexy and edgy, but elegant!” I told her, holding the dress up as she looked off smiling, picturing the image.

“What would I do without you?” she asked, hugging me.

After we were done, I left the mall. I walked to the parking lot to Kenjay’s new Yukon. He was standing next to it. He smirked that sexy smirk like he always did, and the closer I got, the more I could smell his Clive Christian cologne.

“Damn, shorty, can I get your number? You all thick and shit!” he said flirting with me, making me blush. I swatted him away then he grabbed me, bending down, kissing my neck.

  “Kenjay!” I said.

“What? You walked out here with these jeans on, making my ass sit up. Then you have this shirt on, making your titties look nice and full. You kind of pigeon-toed, and when you be switching in your stilettos, my dick gets hard! Your ears are blinging and all of that! Shorty, you a fine as hell!” he said.

“I am the shit, aren’t I?” I asked, throwing my arms around him. Kenjay went with me when I visited my psychiatrist. He was more understanding of my situation. He knew that Tuchie, Dayquan and Kyzie were on my m
ind. He had been doing everything to make sure that I didn’t fall into my deep-depression mode.

“You don’t have to keep dropping me off and picking me up from my clients. I can drive myself,” I told him.

“There’s too much shit going on. You know that!” he said.

A girl switched by and she stared Kenjay in his face as if I wasn’t standing there with him. She was throwing her ass hard! It almost flew off!

“What the hell are you looking at?” I asked her. She rolled her eyes then chirped the alarm to her BMW. She got in then sped off.

“What I tell you about your mouth?” he asked.

“You like it! You was raised with a mouth like this! I miss Tammy so much,” I said.
