Heart's Home

“I'm already naked,” Hunter whispered, a phrase that got Logan's attention instantly.

  “On... the... windowsill?”

“Nobody's going to stop me,” Hunter laughed. “I'm overlooking the city itself. It's not quite dark in here, the sun's just rising. I'm just slowly running a hand up my thigh and pretending it's your thigh. So warm, and soft, and... inviting.”

Logan swallowed his gasp, running his hand up his clothed thigh. “God, I can feel it already.”

“Can you? I'll make you feel it in person,” Hunter promised. “I'm home soon.”

Logan moaned, trying to keep his sounds down in case anyone happened to be wandering around his property or listening particularly closely from the road.

“I'm running my hand over your thigh, then slowly over your cock... gentle circles. No rush,” Hunter purred, his voice still soft and commanding all of Logan's attention. “Then, so slowly, slipping my hand down your waistband... while my other hand rises to play with one of those sensitive nipples. I love how sensitive they are. Like little hot buttons. If I want to get you worked up so you can hardly breathe, all I have to do is tease them like I'm doing...”

Logan shifted so his phone was resting between his shoulder and ear so his other hand was free to slide under his shirt and do just that.

“And then I stroke you inside your pants, pulling you tight against me so you can't squirm away. My hand's tight around you, too. Tight everywhere,” Hunter told him. “Slow, steady jerks at first. I wish I could feel it...”

Logan's breathing fell into a quicker rhythm, his heart racing as he stroked himself inside his pants. He desperately wanted to be free of them, but if Hunter said to come in his pants, he'd do it in a heartbeat for him.

“Tell me what you're feeling,” Hunter commanded.

“God, I'm feeling so good,” Logan moaned immediately, trying to think how to describe it. “Picturing your fingers pinching and squeezing as you jerk me off... without mercy.”

“Driving you to your orgasm faster than you'd want, but it's not your want that matters,” Hunter hissed. “It's mine. I'm the one jerking you off, so I get to decide when you come and even if you come. Today, I'm making you come on my terms.”

Logan moaned, nodding slightly to himself. Yes. Yes, that's – I love that.

“And you're going to come so hard you see stars. You're going to moan so loud you think the whole woods hear you,” Hunter commanded as Logan jerked himself hard, his breathing becoming rapid panting. Even Hunter's breathing was slipping into a hoarser rhythm.

“Y-Yeah,” Logan groaned in return, his throat tight with pleasure. His wrist ached a little and his forearm did, too, but he didn't care. It was so worth it.

Hunter grinned. “And what then? Maybe I'll fuck you right here on this windowsill. Mmm, put you on display for the whole world to see how much I own your pretty little ass, if only for the night.”

“Jesus, you better not,” Logan whispered.

“I will,” Hunter promised smugly. “Maybe not this particular windowsill, but someday, I'll take you to a penthouse suite and we're going to go wild.”

Logan groaned. “F-Fuck,” he whispered, wishing that didn't sound so hot. He wasn't usually one for exhibitionism.

“Yeah,” Hunter grinned. “Yeah, that's it. Picture yourself spreadeagled and helpless, my hands and my cock controlling how fast you come. You're gonna come so hard, baby. You better be ready for this. You're gonna come in your pants, aren't you?”

“Yeah,” Logan only had breath to harshly whisper. He was just seconds away from orgasm now, every muscle in his body tightening until that glorious moment.

“Let me hear it,” Hunter encouraged as his breath caught for a few moments, and Logan threw his lungs into a loud, lusty moan as he came, his hand's motion still confined to his pants. “That's it. Louder, Logan.”

“Fuuuuck, Hunter...! I wish – wish you were here,” Logan gasped as his cock released the orgasm that had been waiting for him. “God, you'd love to see this.” His brain went black for a moment as he tried to process anything other than the intense pleasurable sensations.

“Nnh, I bet I would.” Hunter sounded breathy himself now. “God, I'm just picturing it.”

“Your turn to come,” Logan told him. “Come for me, too. Right in that windowsill, you fucking daredevil...”

Hunter laughed. “Oh, I will. Any second now, Logan. Oh...!”

Logan listened eagerly to each rasping pant, each attempt to catch his breath, and every quiet moaning sound that escaped Hunter's throat as he came so far away.

When Hunter was quiet again, Logan lay back, wiping his hand on his pants and shifting so he held his phone again with his spare hand. “I do miss you.”

“Me too,” Hunter murmured, which Logan hadn't expected to hear back. “It's gonna be good to see you again. How's the house?”

“It's doing great. Foundation's down. Hunter... when I see you, will it be... as a friend...?”

Hunter hesitated, then cleared his throat. “That's up to you, isn't it? But I don't think we're friends.”

Logan's heart raced. “Definitely not. It's not just sexual... despite my best efforts...”

“Mmm, I knew I'd win you over,” Hunter teased.

Logan laughed and wiped his arm across his forehead. “Oh, shut up. Fuck.” After they both settled again and stopped chuckling, he spoke up on a more serious note. “I don't think... this is going to work forever, though. Not if you're traveling.”

“No? Yeah, my business would interfere.”

“Yeah. I miss you a lot already. Imagine if we were boyfriends or something, or living together...” Logan murmured.

“I'll take you. It's no problem. I can take you anywhere,” Hunter offered, sounding anxious.

Logan smiled to himself. “You already know what I'll say.”

“Damned proud man. Your pride gets in the way, you know,” Hunter told him.

“I know.” Logan paused for a moment, then shook his head. “Even if it doesn't work forever, that doesn't mean it can't... work now.”

“Yeah. I want to try,” Hunter murmured, and Logan smiled, listening to the chorus of frogs peeping their nighttime songs from the park across the street. “Are you going to bed?”

  “Yeah. You?”

“Just got up,” Hunter told him. “I'm on my way to the airport in a few minutes.”

“I'll let you go, then. Don't miss your flight.”

“It's my family's plane, so I won't. See you soon?” Hunter asked.

Logan's heart felt warm at the eagerness he heard in that question.

“I'll see you soon,” Logan promised. As he hung up, he smiled to himself, holding the phone in his hand under his pillow still as he closed his eyes. He'd get back to his apartment and take care of laundry tomorrow. Right now, he wanted to sleep as close as he could to Hunter – with those last words in his ear and a smile on his lips.

  Chapter 11

  Hunter

  London sucked ass.

Hunter knew a lot of people loved it, and even he saw the appeal in the fast life there, but for him? Not even close to his spot in Halton Heights.

That wasn't the only reason he was eager to get home after his trip to London.

The business side of the trip had been over quickly, but then Hunter had been forced to catch up with all his father's friends while they were there. Over and over, he'd heard, “Found yourself a good woman yet?”

He could tell that some of them were beginning to suspect.

He'd been planning to talk to his father on the plane trip back from London, but the right moment never came up. His father was discussing the practical merits of buying out the business, who he would hire to take over each aspect of the transition and turnaround, how much it was worth, the risk factors...

When they weren't talking business, his father was determined to tell him about his planned trip to the tropics, and he kept describing how many beautiful women
there were at his favorite resort, all of whom would be just right for Hunter... how many of them would make excellent mothers.

Hunter never felt like crushing his father's dreams.

All in all, he felt guilty for being so deeply glad when they landed and his mother boarded the plane to fly onwards with his father after refueling while he got off to head back home.

He barely stopped to drop off his bags before heading down the staircase and around the corner, walking along the road to the construction site.

There was already a clearer path for a driveway, and a few solar light stakes had been poked into the ground to lead the way to the house site.

  Hunter's jaw dropped.

It was a proper house foundation, more or less. Made of gravel, but a foundation. There was even a door frame!

  “Holy shit.”

“Not bad, huh?” Logan asked, beaming as he strolled up from behind the tarp-covered straw bales, startling Hunter for a moment. Oh, but he was as beautiful as always. Hunter hadn't realized how much he'd missed the sight of Logan, a little sweaty, with his shirt open and muscles rippling...

“Really good,” Hunter answered to distract himself, glancing around. “Jesus, you've practically already built it. How did you get the foundation in so fast?”

“Let's just say it's not your mansion's foundation,” Logan teased, tossing aside a hammer he'd been holding.

“It's... good.” Hunter finally tore his eyes off the house to look at Logan again. He wasn't sure which he was more impressed by... but he couldn't hug the house.

He strode towards Logan, grabbing his hips to kiss him deeply.

Logan melted under his hands, leaning into him with those beautiful pliable lips working against his own. Fuck, he'd missed pulling the beautiful younger man in against him.

  And mmm, those lips.

Hunter let Logan breathe again, drawing back just a few inches to admire his blond lashes and pink lips. Logan's arms were around his neck, Logan's thumb stroking the fine hairs at the back of his neck. “Well, hello,” Logan murmured.

Hunter chuckled quietly. “Hello.” He didn't realize how affectionately he was watching Logan until Logan blushed.

  “Missed me?”

“I think you're supposed to say I missed you,” Hunter teased.

  “I did.”

Whoa. Hunter wasn't sure what was changing, but Logan was strangely ready to admit that he had thought of him in their long days apart. Maybe it was just absence making the heart grow fonder.

Hunter leaned in to press another slow kiss to Logan's lips before gazing at the house again.

Logan kept an arm around Hunter's neck, leaning into him slightly. “Impressed?”

  “I am.”

“Usually construction is a bit slower, but the house is small and my friends have been helping. Your mom's help was cool, too.”

Hunter shook his head with a light laugh. His mother had always been secretly granola-crunching, even after Roy convinced her to live the rich life.

“Your dad still sounds...” Logan trailed off, sounding tentative. Hunter glanced over, resisting the urge to get defensive. He knew Logan was right.

“He's a little homophobic, but I don't think he's... violently against it,” Hunter told him simply. “He loves me and he wants the best for me, but he doesn't know what that is.” He didn't feel like discussing the topic after having spent an entire plane ride fretting over when to tell his father, though, so he changed the subject.

“But you guys have gotten so far already. Now it's just, what, to put the walls up? And roof? And... frame first, I guess?”

Logan instantly took over, launching into an explanation of gravel subfloors and drainage ditches while Hunter followed him to the building site to walk around the perimeter of the small house. It looked ridiculously tiny, but he trusted that it wouldn't be so bad once the walls were up.

“Grab that wood,” Logan told Hunter. Hunter playfully reached out for Logan's groin and laughed when Logan swatted him off. “The piece over there, you.”

Hunter winked and strode over to grab the length of thick wood, not a log but thicker than a regular branch. “What are we doing with that?” He noticed that Logan had one, too.

“Tamping down the gravel. I've been working on this all afternoon so there's just a little more to go, over on this side,” Logan told him cheerily. “Then we can add the straw, then silt, and then the cob floors.”

Hunter leaned the makeshift tamper against his leg to roll up his sleeves. “Are we doing all that this afternoon?”

Logan burst out laughing. “I don't have that much energy. You're welcome to try.”

It turned out to be kind of fun to walk across the gravel, slamming the post down to get the gravel as flat and compact as possible. It was hard work using muscles Hunter wasn't sure he typically used, but Logan appreciated the help.

“You're not a half-bad builder,” Logan finally told him when they finally reached the spot where the foundation ended and stepped back to look at their work. “I'd give you at least a B.”

  “Ouch, only a B?”

“Oh, god, you're one of those students,” Logan groaned.

Hunter grinned. “I was the nerd who was always worried I wouldn't get an A.”

“But you got all As, huh?”

“No. I had to take remedial classes a few times,” Hunter told him. “I didn't study enough sometimes. It was a weird phase of life.”

“Aw,” Logan frowned. “Yeah, I studied and I always got Bs at best. Cs and Bs. Sometimes an A, though... especially in geography.”

“Oh, yeah,” Hunter laughed and shook his head. “You probably did better in college, though, huh?”

“Never went. I did practical things,” Logan told him simply. “Couldn't afford the tuition anyway.”

Hunter felt guilty for a moment and cleared his throat. He knew there was a lot of potential resentment in that sentence, and he didn't want to irritate Logan.

“Yeah, I know, Ivy league school all the way for you,” Logan said, sounding carefully casual.

“Yeah. I got lucky,” Hunter said simply. “So, the gravel's done, huh?”

Logan nodded. “Tomorrow, we add clay-straw...”

  “Which means...?”

  “Clay with straw.”

Hunter chuckled. “Really? Three little piggies?” At Logan's look, he raised his hands. “Fine, fine, sorry. How long have you been working today?”

“All day now,” Logan told him, checking his watch. “Since... oh, eight?”

“Wow,” Hunter shook his head. “You know, we should just take a break...”

  Logan snorted. “Lightweight.”

“I'm not – I didn't mean that kind of a break,” Hunter grinned. “You know, a break break.”

“As opposed to actual breaks. I see.” Logan's cheeks weren't just flushed from the heat, though. He was giving Hunter a certain look up and down.

Hunter's phone rang and he kept on walking as he dug it out of his pocket. He crinkled his eyes for a moment as he stared at the number, not recognizing it, then gave a small but expressive shrug. He answered, “Hello, Hunter speaking.” After a pause, his expression darkened and he stopped walking.

  Not them.

He tried to keep his expression calm and level as he answered the man on the other end of the phone who asked if he was the new owner, if he would be available the next morning, and if any current construction was occurring on the property. He squeezed Logan's shoulder.

“All right,” he finally concluded. “I'll be here tomorrow.”

At Logan's expression, he just wanted to hug him. Logan was experiencing a sudden moment of despair, having put two and two together.

  “Tell me,” Logan demanded sharply.

Hunter kept his voice calm. “The zoning committee. They've caught on.”

Logan pulled away from Hunter's hand and paced back and forth across the gravel, fear knotting his stomach. “Shit. Fuck. Oh, fuck, it wa
s that guy... I knew he was bad news. I knew he had to have been sent by someone. At this stage in building, they can tell us to tear it down. With a finished home, that's an extra consideration--”

Hunter raised his voice. “I'll deal with it,” he promised, his voice stronger to break through Logan's worries. He didn't ask what man Logan meant; it sounded just like Charlie to send a spy over. “Logan. Don't worry. That's why my name's on the property.”

Logan bit his lip, shoving his hands into his pockets now. He kept walking back and forth over the tamped-down gravel. “Are you sure? What if things go wrong?”

“They won't,” Hunter said, shaking his head. “They just won't go wrong. The inspection's in two days, but it'll go fine with me involved, okay? So let's keep calm and keep planning the floor.”

Logan shook his head, gazing at Hunter now as if taking in his calmness. It didn't rile him up like Hunter had feared; instead, Logan drew on Hunter's strength. The handsome younger man walked over, taking his turn to rest his hands on Hunter's hips. “Thank you.”

Hunter pulled him in for a hug. “Of course. You're welcome,” he murmured, breathing in the scent of earth, sweat, and straw. When he let Logan go, he watched Logan walk off the foundation to sit in the grass nearby. Logan rested his forehead on his hands, elbows on his knees.

Hunter gave him a minute before walking over to sit next to Logan. He raised a hand to rub slowly along Logan's back, starting at his neck and working down to the small of his back before rubbing back up again. Logan instinctively leaned into him, and Hunter's heart swelled.

He wanted to protect this man.

Hunter put an arm around him.

“It'll be fine. I've dealt with them before.”

“Are they more likely to listen to you?” Logan asked.

Hunter nodded. “Yeah, I think so. I'll have lots of reasonable explanations and then they'll permit it and we'll go on with building. I'm not gonna let them leave you homeless. Speaking of which, um, are you... giving up your apartment?”

Logan glanced over at him for a moment before he nodded. It was a week into June now, and if Hunter remembered right, he'd mentioned vacating at the end of June. “Thanks for reminding me,” he groaned.
