Vampire Descendants 3 Page 9

by Pet TorreS

  Our animation and joy fished other’s gazes and Eros and Mirta also could not avoid looking at our direction. Mirta looked at Eros's countenance and realized he seriously gazed at us.

  At that moment, he leaned his back against the wall of the ballroom and crossed his arms over his chest while his supernatural eyes watched my movements around Bizak. I was still spinning endlessly.

  Eros squeezed his eyes towards us and his face became even more unsympathetic. He even forgot that his girlfriend was at his side and observed him with jealousy.

  The vampire lifted his head. The gray eyes of Eros ran through the ceiling of the hall and saw thousands of balls of gas. Still in deep silence, he narrowed his eyes toward every ball there.

  Suddenly the same began to burst in sequence. The noises frightened some youths who started running scared in several directions. Bizak and I looked up and saw all the balls being destroyed for nothing.

  One by one and then several at the same time.

  The pieces of fabrics suspended in the ceiling began to detach and fall on the students.

  The people were still frightened by the strange phenomenon. Even the director and the school's deputy director ran instead of calming their students.

  The Rock and Roll band stopped playing when it realized it had given short circuit in the wires that connected the sound equipment. Something very strange was going on there.

  Bizak and I stayed at the hall even almost empty. The ball had been a failure. It was over. We continue standing to face each other as we exchanged suspicious glances. We had had the idea who had done all it.

  Just then, we look to one side, towards the wall which Eros was still in the same position. He was still looking with his compressed eyes to us, informing us with his threatening face that he had ended with our little party.

  “I knew it was him!”

  Bizak exclaimed looking back at my face. I looked again toward Eros and he pulled Mirta by the arm and so they walked out of the ballroom.

  This time, it was Eros who had ruined the school event.

  …With some secret purpose.

  CHAPTER 32

  Mirta crossed the street near her home. It was night-time, the place was deserted. She accelerated her steps to get right to her home.

  A figure appeared before her. It was in a black cape and its face was covered by a dark hood. She raised her hands to her lips as she was terrified by that creature.

  “Who are you?” She took two steps back.

  The bizarre figure did not answer her question. It only continued motionless, just watching her trembling movements.

  “What do you want from me?” she insisted.

  The stranger walked quickly toward her and wrapped her into its black cape.

  She had no time to run away.

  ~~~
  Mirta was thrown to the ground. She had fainted it seemed. The causative individual left the place before he could be taken by surprise.
  At that moment I walked down the street and saw Mirta lying on the floor. Immediately I ran in the direction of her.
  “Mirta!” I looked at her pale face.
  So I knelt down to see what had happened to her. I wanted to do something to see her well.
  “Mirta! It is me... Valkyrie!” I put my hand on her cold face. She was dead. I turned her head to the side and saw blood on her neck.
  I recognized it had been vampire bite.
  “Mirta!” I yelled.
  Despite everything that had happened between us, I had never wanted her death.
  Mirta was used by Eros to affect me.
  “He did this to you!” I said aloud.
  In my mind there was only one culprit.
  I took Mirta’s body with me and flew over the town with her corpse in my arms. I could not leave her dead on the ground. People would discover the origin of her death and it would be terrible for my kind of vampire.
  I stopped flying on top of a cliff in a forest. There was a large, deep hole. No one would find her there.
  Then I threw her corpse into it. She disappeared into the depths. I looked at a huge stone and made it move in the direction of the hole, covering it.
  Then I disappeared.
  CHAPTER 33
  My mother drove to the town to try to resolve some outstanding issues with the bank. Driving her car slowly, she looked to all sides. Then she started her car radio to listen to a song.
  She looked forward again and saw an unusual appearance. The same creature that murdered Mirta also appeared to my mother.
  Due to fear, my mother lost control of her wheel and her car hit a tree as it veered off the road.
  She was wounded. Some blood slid by her face as she closed her eyes at all.
  ~~~

  I rushed to the hospital as I knew what had happened to my mother. I walked to her bed. She was lying down, her head was bandaged and her eyes were closed.

  At that moment I stood beside her. I leaned my body to be closer to her.

  “Mother,” I said softly.

  She opened her eyes and looked up at me. I was relieved to see my mother alive.

  “I will not leave you alone,” I said sadly.

  “I lost control of my car,” she said.

  “It happens,” I completed.

  “I saw a black figure in front of me,” she confessed, perplexed.

  “Black figure?” I asked as I thought my mother’s story was strange.

  “A creature with a black cape. I could not see its face, but it looked like something supernatural!” She explained.

  “Are you absolutely sure about that?”

  “I saw it ... Valkyrie! It appeared in the air ...” she gave me details and I got taken aback with the narrative. Everything made me notice only a culprit.

  I had no doubt who my mother was referring to. I just did not want to believe it.

  He killed Mirta and tried to kill my mother too.

  That explained it all. The killer wanted to affect me.

  CHAPTER 34

  I had been transported to Eros’s home. He was sleeping, hanging from the ceiling with his head down. It was sure he was sleeping in that occasion. The silence helped his sleep. There was no noise.

  “Wake up Eros!” I cried impatiently at him and interrupted his slumber.

  Soon he opened his gray eyes and fell down, standing in front of me. His stare placed on my representation before him. He glared at me.

  “What are you doing here?” he asked suspiciously and his eyes ran over me for a second time.

  After that I took two steps in front and felt the hard ground under my feet. But I kept my eyes on Eros. I wanted to witness all his acts. He looked surprised with my presence in his residence.

  “I came here to destroy you!” I said seriously.

  “Why do you want to destroy me? Is it another fit of jealousy?” His gray eyes faced mine. He perceived I remained severe.

  “You tried to kill my mother!” I said, hateful. There was no doubt of it.

  “I do not know what you're talking about!” He turned his back to me and tried to pay no attention to my accusation against him. He didn’t deserve it in inopportune time.

  “She told me she saw you!” But I insisted with shouts.

  “Your mother is crazy! I did not do it!” he said turning back to face me and his voice sounded approximately more high than mine. Eros would never confess that brutality against my mother, because he was an intelligent vampire.

  “You killed Mirta and wanted to kill my mother too!”

  He grimaced at my words. I looked so brainless with that converse. “I did not kill Mirta! And why would I do that?”

  “You want to affect me, to avenge me!”

  “I want nothing of the kind!”

  “I will destroy you!” I said and faced him gravely.

  Energy came out of me and struck against Eros, flinging him against the wall. He compressed his lips with pain and irritation.

  “You are not kidding!” Ero
s realized I wanted to eliminate him in fact.

  Soon he returned to me other energy but it was weaker than mine. I fell to the ground and then I stood up again as I was determined to destroy him with all my forces. Even that was the very last thing I could do in my life. But I needed to see him destroyed because of my mother. I just thought about her and her accident and nothing else.

  “I am stronger than you!” I said to him.

  “You might have more power, but I know how to use them better than you,” he said as he dominated my body with his own hands. I could not get out of his clutches.

  “Let me go, Eros!” I screamed.

  “See how weak you are!” He said sarcastically, trying to look into my countenance. But I remained turning my face to the side. In that moment I hated to have to look in his eyes or his image. It seemed my love for him had been destroyed despite the fact that he tried to exterminate my mother.

  “I will devastate you!” I shouted again against him.

  “Do it!” his voice challenged me and that made my fury longer.

  Thus I made contradictory movements, trying to find a way to break away from his arms. But Eros was holding me with more force.

  Then I tried another way to escape from him. I threw my power to all sides. The wall and the ceiling cracked and pieces of concrete fell to the ground.

  “Destroy everything!” Eros said laughing at the stupid things I did. “You'll waste all your powers and will not get anywhere with it!” he warned me.

  Not expecting it, Bizak appeared in our presence and screamed at Eros. He looked to be there to protect me from the danger that Eros was putting me in.

  “Eros, free her!”

  Eros looked at Bizak with hatefulness. He threw me to the side and attacked Bizak. Now he was his newest adversary.

  The two vampires rolled on the ground, punching each other. Both wished for an opportunity like this, to be face to face with each other.

  Eros had more ability than Bizak to strike. But Bizak left to fight using his hands and began to use his vampire powers against Eros. He flung Eros against the wall several times and Eros did the same to him.

  The two had a difficult dispute.

  ~~~
  Sometime later the two vampires were exhausted and very wounded. I watched everything. Even I thought I had fallen on the floor, next to the wall.
  Eros and Bizak were up, standing, looking at each other from a distance, recovering their energies to engage in a new confrontation.
  I stood up to intervene in their dispute.
  “Valkyrie, destroy Eros!” Bizak shouted at me. While he thought he could lose the fight. “He tried to kill your mother!” he insisted.
  I was positioned to react against Eros.
  But in this moment, strong visions came to my mind. I saw the moment when the killer interrupted Mirta’s life. Then I saw the moment when my mother suffered a car accident and I also saw the figure as it appeared in her way.
  At that instant I was sure of who was the real killer.
  “Valkyrie, destroy him! You have the power to do it!” Bizak persisted, shouting toward me.
  I raised my arms before me. A long power wrapped around my hands, a force I had never felt before. I was prepared to destroy my enemy.
  Gradually I stared at Eros, intending to destroy him as my eyes squeezed in his direction. At that moment, however, I flung my powers over Bizak who was standing looking at me. The impact of my energy destroyed him at once.
  He became ash and occupied the ground. His body exploded and left just ashes traveling through the air.
  Eros was innocent all the time.
  Bizak planned everything so that I could believe that Eros was the culprit.
  CHAPTER 35
  After Bizak’s destruction, I stayed in the house. Eros was much wounded. He would need my help to recover faster. So I held his arm, intending to help him.
  “Are you wounded?” I asked.
  “Stay away from me!” He pulled his arm violently from my hand and looked to me as if I was still his enemy. The wounds in his body didn’t let him believe I desired his good.
  “I want to take care of you.”
  “You wanted to destroy me ...” he faced me in the eye. “Now do you want to take care of me?”
  “I thought ...”
  He did not let me continue talking. So I remained voiceless while his voice dominated our converse.
  “You thought wrong! I do not need you!” he said, hatefully.
  “Forgive me, Eros!” I implored.
  “Should I forgive you? You wanted to destroy me!” He looked into my eyes. “You acted worse than your father ...He banished me out of Neptune, but he never wanted to destroy me.”
  “I just thought of my mother.” I lowered my head after that. “I had no choice.”
  “Get out!” he ordered with his elevated tone of voice. “Never try to cross my path again.”
  His eyes ran to the side and tears of blood appeared on my pale face. Eros was expelling me out of his life. He had a different face. He seemed to carry a hatred for me. Maybe that hatred would never abandon his heart.
  “What are you waiting for? Be gone!” he said loudly.
  Courage entered my heart.
  I hadn’t done what Eros ordered me to, although I should respect his wishes. I stopped in front of him, proud and sure of myself.
  What I was about to do could change my life forever.
  So I deposited all my hopes in that single moment.
  The full moon was a scene for us, pointing out of the open window.
  I held Eros’s face firmly. He had no way to escape out of my hand. My strength had neutralized him.
  This was the most exciting moment of my life.
  I stared into his gray eyes and he also stared into my supernatural eyes. The moon recorded the occasion when my lips absorbed Eros’ lips. We were covered by a pleasant murmur.
  Everything revolved around me.
  I was dreaming ...A dream from which I would never wake up because it was reality.
  Moments later my lips came off from his. He was dazed and stunned at our kiss. Then he put his hands to his lips to make himself sure that all was well with him and his mouth was perfect.
  Eros had never felt any desire for beings of our species, but our kiss had stirred something in his emotions.
  I saw it in him.
  “I love you!” I said with tenderness of a passionate vampire.
  He said nothing, just recovered from his dizziness and disappeared quickly...
  I looked up at the sky through the open window and saw an owl flying away.
  ~~~

  Since our kiss, I have never seen Eros again.

  Our paths did not cross any longer.

  I had no news of him. I did not know where he stayed.

  It took my rest every day and every night.

  Our kiss represented everything to me, but he walked away from me...

  The love I felt for him would never live up to my expectations.

  I would have to live with it for eternity.

  Eros, even far away, was present in me. I thought about him twenty-four hours a day... I desired him twenty-four hours a day.

  Wishing him was possible.

  My love for him had survived in my unreal world.

  It was where we had been happy forever.

  CHAPTER 36

  Seven years later...

  I have not changed anything during these years, since my mother was older. Her face got more wrinkles. She carried with her a rare disease that she hid from me all the time.

  I was never aware of her illness, until the moment she got sick in my presence.

  She was sitting on the porch when she felt ill and fell to the ground. I ran to hold her in my arms and her eyes looked to say me goodbye. But I didn’t want myself to accept it as true that my mother was passing away.

  “Mother!” I shouted desperately as I kept my round eyes on her face. In panic I sho
ok her body for some instants, with hope she could answer my shake.

  But it was too late. She had already closed her eyes forever. Soon I touched my face against her chest and after that raised my head and shouted to the four corners of the world.

  “Noooooooo!!”

  Everyone could hear a vampire's cry of pain - one that was losing her beloved mother forever.

  CHAPTER 37

  The connection that Eros still had with me, it made me see several scenes from his life.

  I knew about his fate.

  Eros fell in the universe.

  Now he was in other world, far away from me.

  I saw his image walking on another planet, which was not Neptune.

  Where he was, there were rocks, wind and darkness...

  He was walking endlessly, alone, in his dark clothes and under his black cape.

  He had his back to me.

  But he felt the same thing I felt. He also knew some parts of my life. Where I was or what I was doing...

  Eros now belonged to the planet

  ‘URANUS’

  CHAPTER 38

  After my mother’s death, I started visiting the cemetery every day. It was a way of staying with her. I had not yet fully accepted her death.

  Then I decided I had to do something to bring her back to this world. While I thought I had that power in my dominion. In my mind it was easy to believe that this could happen someday. But after the days passed by and I saw no signal of my mother so I could distinguish that everything didn’t go beyond a daydream. My mother would never come back to my life. For some time I imagined I should have made her become a vampire when she was alive. However I never had that courage to convert her into a monster. I always thought my mother didn’t deserve it.
