Their Improbable Mating [Paranormal Protection Unit 3] (Siren Publishing Allure) Page 11

by Honor James

“You just want me happy and healthy in our relationship because I’m a fourth level black belt and you don’t want me to hand your ass to you on a silver platter, darling. Admit it,” she teased him with a grin. “But it’s okay. I would never hurt you. Yes, I might give you one heck of a hard time, but that’s all right, my love. I would totally do it and then kiss the boo-boos better for you, my love.”

“I’ll just fry your ass if you try any of that kung fu hoo-hoo on me, lady,” he muttered, pulling her in close and grinning. “Bet my Dragon could take your black belt and make it cry for its momma pretty damn fast.” He wiggled his brows. “Or I could just make wild love to you so you forget all about evil plots to kick my too-adorable ass.”

Jackie grinned up at him. “Oh, I love it when you get all Dragon Dominant on me,” she purred. She really did. It was the oddest thing. She loved, loved to be dominated by her Dragon. “I love the idea of making wild love to you, darling. You do have that way of making me forget absolutely everything in life when we fuck like bunnies.”

“Bunnies are tasty,” he commented idly and grinned at her odd expression. “The fur’s an issue though. Gets all balled up in the teeth, nasty.” Wiggling his eyebrows at her, he moved in closer. “But you are much, much tastier to this hungry Dragon,” he whispered. “I could lick you up for hours and want for absolutely nothing.” Allister growled softly at the idea of having her laid out for his pleasure, and hers of course.

She shivered from head to toe on that one and licked her lips. “Gods, Allister, when you talk like that it makes me all kinds of…” She fanned herself. “Hot.” And it did. Wow did it ever make her hot. Just to listen to him, to know that he wanted her every bit as much as she wanted him. Shit, she was creaming like crazy from that knowledge.

Inhaling slowly, he smiled. “You’re ready for me right now, aren’t you?” he asked, stroking his fingers over the side of her breast lightly. “I could slide into you right now and you’d come without much effort, wouldn’t you?” he whispered, nipping at her throat gently.

“Yes.” She moaned. “If you were to slide into me right now I could scream with the orgasm that you would give me,” she admitted to him. “Because I’m so wet. I’m so desperate. I’m so needy that I know that you would be able to do just that. You just look at me and I get wet and ready for you.”

That was a heady bit of knowledge that he rather liked. Smiling, he squeezed her ass. “I want to bury myself deep inside of you until neither of us knows where one starts and ends. I want to feel you clenching me hard, milking me for everything I’m worth until neither of us can move. I need to hear you screaming as you claw at me in your need and desperation.”

“Then instead of teasing me, get your beautiful ass naked so that you can fuck me. I want you to fuck me until I scream and then even harder, even more. I want your Dragon to come out and play, too.” God, she loved it when Allister gave up that little bit of his control and let the Dragon slip just a bit.

“You have to get naked, too, you know,” he pointed out since she didn’t seem inclined to let him go. “It’s very hard to get tab A into slot B with barrier C in the way, sugar,” Allister teased with a grin on his face. He loved when she got all demanding and bossy, at least about sex. Everything else he just grinned and bore as best he could.

“I swear one day I’m going to write a book on how to have sex the right way with one’s Dragon bond-mate,” Jackie said with a grin, stepping back and stripping out of her clothes so fast that she was sure she lost buttons along the way but couldn’t have given a flying fuck if she had tried.

“The ‘right way’?” he asked, staring at her as he paused in pulling his shirt off. “Just what do you mean by the ‘right way’, darling?” He narrowed his eyes on her. He was missing something there, which wasn’t surprising. His little mate’s mind went six ways to Sunday without turn signals more often than not.

“Yep, the ‘right way,’” Jackie said with a grin and winked at him. Once she was properly naked, she said, “It would be a very short and simple book. Wear skirts always, never underwear, and always be ready for your Dragon. The End. That simple, darling mine.”

“You would make millions I’m sure,” he said, softly kicking his pants away. Wrapping her up in his arms, he kissed her hard and fast as he lifted her up. “Sound advice in a concise and easy to understand format. What could be better?”

“Exactly. No big words to confuse the silly ones, so yep, I should totally write it.” Jackie grinned. With a little help from Quincy she was going to ensure that the sage advice of no panties and lots of skirts went out in a memo, too. She was just that freaking crazy. “So what now, darling?” she asked as she wrapped her arms around him, teasing him with talking instead of kissing, touching, feeling.

Nipping at her lip, he nuzzled her cheek. “Now I think I should put my tab into your slot and maybe rub it back and forth a bit. I noticed you like that part quite a lot and we should always do things that you like, my love.”

“Oh, I absolutely love that part a great deal,” she said with a grin and leaned in to kiss him again. As their bodies once more merged into one, she let out a sigh of pure pleasure. “I love you so very much, Allister.” He was hers. He might be completely stuffy to all those around him, but with her he was himself. He was truly remarkable and she never wanted him to change. He was perfect just as he was.

“I’m glad you like me as I am, sweet,” he whispered, rolling his hips slowly as he licked up her throat slowly. “Because I adore you as you are and you are absolutely amazing,” he murmured with a grin. “Perfect beyond all expectations, divine, surreal, and mine. My fantasy woman taken form.” Allister growled, thrusting harder.

She bit back a cry of pleasure and grinned down at him. She moved even closer to him so that her breasts would move against his chest and began to rock on him with a deep-seated hunger that couldn’t be assuaged. “Growl for me,” she demanded and bit his chest lightly as she did so.

Giving her what she wanted, he growled deep, letting the Dragon into the sound so it rocked items around them. Squeezing her bottom, he moved harder, faster, his need matching hers in desperation. Gods, he couldn’t imagine life without her. Thank the Gods for his moronic brother and his weird code of honor.

This had been what she needed! The feeling of pleasure rocked her to the very core of her being and she heard herself screaming to go right along with his growl. She shivered as she came, her mouth on his chest, and bit him once again as she came.

Snarling, he held her down tight over him as he came, lights dancing behind his eyes as he shuddered in orgasm. Throwing out a hand, he braced them against the wall so he didn’t crush her if he fell down, especially since she’d likely be on the bottom. “Holy mother of the Gods,” he wheezed out. He could swear they only seemed to get better and better. Much more and one of them would likely die of a pleasure-induced stroke.

  Chapter Fourteen

  Four months later

“I swear to god, Allister, if you don’t call your brother back I’m going to beat the hell out of him myself,” Jackie growled. “I don’t know what the hell is wrong with him, but I swear to the Gods I’m going to kill him myself if he goes off half cocked once again.” She had begun to get more and more worried for Aiden and the way that he was all but hanging himself out for their enemies to find him, and it had her seriously pissed. Besides, they needed to share the good news of their pregnancy with him as well.

Sighing, he stared at his bond-mate and shrugged. “Aiden is just that way, love. You can no more control that lunatic than I can,” he added when she shot him a glare promising pain. “If you want to try, go for it.”

“No, I think that I will wait for him to find a bond-mate, someone that’s going to put him on his ass,” she said with a smug grin. “Then I think that I will just giggle at him every now and again.” Or something like that.

“That seems like a sound plan, cruel, but sound nonetheless,” h
e commented. “Though at the rate he is going he’ll have forty kids by the time he finds a bond-mate,” he muttered under his breath. Not that he thought his brother wasn’t taking precautions. He knew Aiden and knew he always did take precautions, but still, between the missions he was taking and his social life, how he was still upright was beyond him.

“I’m not sure how his bond-mate would feel about that if he had a whole passel of kids running around before he met her,” Jackie said softly. “Can’t you guys get STDs and stuff? He is gloving up before loving, right?” She and Allister hadn’t because they were meant to be together, and she had been on birth control before they decided to try for children, so she wasn’t worried about anything at all.

“He always wears a condom from what I understand.” Not that he outright asked his brother that kind of stuff. Ick! “But no, we don’t catch such diseases, nor can we transmit them. We’re not carriers, basically. We can catch the common cold, but other than that”—Allister shrugged—“we don’t get sick, ever.”

“I know, I’m totally asking way too many intimate questions.” She shook her head and sighed. “It’s like he’s lost and is searching for something. I feel for him actually,” she admitted. “You were his closest confidant for all your lives, darling, and now you have me. You two are no longer spending as much time together as you once did because of me. Maybe he’s missing you?”

He hadn’t thought of that, but still…“We see each other all the time. Not as much, absolutely, but we still work together, hang out at lunch, shoot the bull in one of our offices, train together, and still do missions. Plus he’s always here or we’re there.” But maybe it wasn’t enough. “I will arrange some time just for us to hang out. Maybe I’ll drag him over to the pub on the weekend and we can catch a game or something.”

“Without me,” she added. “Honey, it could be that he’s missing that alone time that he had with you before me. I know how asinine that sounds, but it could be that he’s feeling like a third wheel, love. Talk to him about it, please?” She didn’t want to come between the brothers and that was very, very clearly her worry in this matter.

“I’ll talk to him, love,” he promised, softly stroking a finger down her cheek. Smiling slightly, he brushed a kiss to her lips. “I like that you’re worried for him,” he murmured. “Much better than the trying to kill him off at every turn because he’s an ass.”

“I only give him a hard time because I adore him. He’s the brother I never had, and I’m totally worried for him,” Jackie said with her eyes sparkling as she looked up at Allister. “Thank you for taking the time to talk to him, darling.”

“He’s my big brother, sweetheart. Of course I’ll talk to him,” he said with a frown. “I love him. He’s part of me and our lives. If he’s in some sort of trouble I want to ensure he knows we’re here for him. That I’m here for him if he has issue with girls knowing boy things, too, of course.” He grinned.

She grinned at that and shook her head. Goodness, she loved this man, but Jackie couldn’t stop the feeling in her stomach that there was something wrong with Aiden. “How about you go and track him down now? Didn’t he say that he was going to the city or something like that?”

“Yeah, he and a couple of the guys were going for dinner and I think a club,” he told her. “Let me find out who he headed off with and I’ll track them down.” Pressing a kiss to her lips, he smiled. “I love you, Jacqueline,” he whispered, his grin getting bigger when she wrinkled her nose right on cue. She hated her given name but he thought it rather fit her perfectly.

Jackie snorted and shook her head. “I love you, too…” There was the pause before the awaited “Al” came out. Hearing his growl had her winking and then making a “shooing” movement with her hand. “Go. Go and find your brother. Have a drink for me while you are out, too, if you wouldn’t mind, please.”

“Yes, love.” He winked at her, moving for the door. Grabbing up his jacket and keys, he headed for the SUV just in case he needed to haul his brother’s drunk ass home. Calling the base, he found out who had left with Aiden and headed for the first favorite spot the particular group had. Not that he had any luck there or the next place. Finding them at the third, minus his brother, Allister spoke with them for a time before going out to his truck. “Hi, love, can you check Aiden’s house and see if any of the lights are on, particularly the front hall and upper hall?” With how his house was constructed Jackie should be able to see the glow from their place.

There was genuine worry in her tone when she whispered, “There are no lights on, Allister. Anywhere. Not even the small light he keeps out front with the animal food and water. What is going on with your brother?” Dropping the curtains down, Jackie moved once more, pacing as she did so. “When did you see him last?”

Allister had to think for a moment. “Today after lunch we had the meeting and then went to his office to bullshit for a while. We were munching on some popcorn, watching something on the TV, and you came in to find me. He was harassing me about your complaints of his hosting skills and you appeared, which had him bailing fast after confirming your gaming date. Not that you answered him though,” he murmured. “Other than that…Oh, I did see him at the end of the day. I waved at him while I was racing over to the training rooms for the class I was instructing.”

“Odd. He never doesn’t call me at night.” Which she knew would sound weird to anyone but Allister. He would understand the bond that Jackie and Aiden shared. “He always calls just so I can put the phone to my belly so that he can, in his words, instruct his nephews how to ensure that I have to get up fifty times a night to go pee.”

Chuckling softly since it sounded exactly like something his brother would do, Allister pushed a hand through his hair and headed for the truck. “I’m going to try a couple more places I know he occasionally frequents, love. I’ll call you back as soon as I’ve checked the last one. Do me a favor and call his cell. I tried in the bars but realized it was futile even with my hearing to try and catch a ringing phone over some of that crap they play. Maybe he’s got it on him and will at least answer.”

“Sure. I will try him, honey.” Jackie paused and then added, “I love you, Allister. Find our brother for us pretty quickly?” Worry laced her tone. It was something that she wasn’t accustomed to and that was very clear in the tone of voice she used.

“I will, baby,” he whispered softly. “And if you find him, text me and keep him on the line so that you can hear me beating the snot out of him,” he grumbled. “I love you, Jackie. I’ll see you soon, love,” he promised and hung up to head off for another stop.

“I will text you if I find him,” Jackie promised before disconnecting the line and leaving Allister with his own thoughts.

  Chapter Fifteen

“I couldn’t find anything,” Allister said, leaning over the back of Quincy’s chair. “This is the last club that positively identified him as being there. Likely only because it was a changer at the door.” A good guy, that bear. A relative of Mac and Sully’s if he recalled right.

“Well”—Quincy leaned in—“I have him going into the club and inside the club at the bar, later at the bathroom, at the bar, on the dance floor with not one but ten females all trying to climb him, and back at the bar.” Fast-forwarding the feed, it was more of the same, bar, dancing, bar, sitting and yakking up a storm, bar, bathroom once more, bar, dancing, and repeat. “And then here.” He stopped the tape, pointing to a guy with his back to the camera. “This guy stops him and obviously asks the time.”

Given his brother was showing the man his watch, it stood to reason. Allister frowned. “What was that?” he asked before saying, “Back up twenty seconds and slow it down to frame by frame.”

“All right,” Q muttered, doing as Allister asked even as he shot a questioning look over his shoulder. “What did you see, Allister?”

“Watch the guy’s hand as he looks to the watch Aiden shows him,” he said, pointing at the screen as it came
into view. “Tell me that doesn’t look like an injector.”

Quincy squinted. “Well, since you have mighty Dragon vision, I’m going to believe you, but for the rest of us I’m going to clean this up a bit.” Typing fast, he got his little cleaner program running and tweaked it on the go, muttering to himself under his breath. “Well, you were definitely right,” he admitted a moment later as he stared at the injector the guy had aimed right for Aiden’s neck.

“Track this guy back to a camera shot,” Allister said. “We need to ID him and then we need to know how they got Aiden out of there. He’s not exactly tiny,” he pointed out unnecessarily, but he was terrified for his brother.

“They would need at least one more guy this size”—Quincy tapped the screen to the guy’s hand holding the needle—“to get him out of there easily. And even then they would be struggling.” Dragons may look like large human males, but in reality they were seriously dense. It took a lot to harm one.

“Watch for a partner,” Allister said, pulling out his phone to call his mate. “Jackie, love,” he said, leaving the room so Quincy could work without him hanging over his shoulder. “Aiden has been abducted, love. At least that’s our best guess given what we’ve found so far evidence wise. Skittles is working on the cameras to find some faces and know who they are and how they got him out of there. I want you to lock the doors and put on the alarm system. This may be about Aiden or it may be about the Teams. I refuse to put you in the line of fire if they are coming after me, babe.”

“I’m not exactly a wilting lily, Allister,” Jackie told him even as she turned on the alarm. Going to the gun case, she opened it up and pulled out a shotgun as well as two handguns. “I’m armed, so if any of the boys decide to come and visit, make damn sure that they let me know they are here, or we will have to pick up their gooey bits, and you know how I hate to clean.”
