He gave her one more lick to ensure he had stopped the blood flow and then lifted his wrist to his mouth. Biting it, he offered his blood to her to seal their mating. She hesitated, holding his hand in hers for a moment before dipping her head and running her tongue over the bite, drawing a gasp from his lips. Desire ran through her and she drank his blood quickly, greedily. Finally, he had to pull away, knowing she could not know how much was too much.
"We are one now, you and I. Mated for all eternity."
Mai nodded, snuggling close against him, reveling in the feel of his strong arms around her. She knew that she had turned. She could feel it already, feel the change, the energy flowing through her. She knew that she would have all of eternity now to live and love him.
