  "Who sent the men"

  "I don't know, the company wanted me to keep silent it was bad PR"

  "That's crazy, why wouldn't they just pay for your medical bills"

  "I have no idea, all I know is that the men turned up at my mother's house and I had the hindsight to run"

  "Where was this"

  "Upstate"

  "So when did you get to the city"

  "A few days ago, listen Ace I know we aren't close anymore but I knew you lived around here you and had a nice job"

  Ace sighed and put his arms around his friend and hugged him he heard the man start to cry a little

  "Listen I don't have much, really I have not that much"

  Hank wiped his eyes

  "I'm not looking for a handout or anything, in fact, the other reason I came down here is for a girl"

  "A girl"

  Hank pulled out a picture from his tight black jeans and held it to Ace

  "Her name is Nancy but I have no way of contacting her if you could do me a favor and let me use your computer"

  "You know computers are Monitored"

  "Not yours I still know what a crazy hacker you are"

  Ace's face darkened somewhat

  "It's OK your secret is safe with me, but if you could do me this solid, remember you owe me for that basketball game"

  Ace sighed

  "Of course man I'll help you out"

  Hank hugged Ace again

  "So where's your place"

  "It's right here"

  Ace pointed to the apartment building behind Hank

  Ace walked to the back door and opened it with his key that hung from his work pants.

  Chapter Six

  "I won that game by the way," said Ace leading Hank into his apartment.

  "Whatever man, keep telling yourself that"

  Ace's apartment like most of the working class Grays was small, it furnished with third-hand stuff. The apartment had two bedrooms a small bathroom and a kitchen with a nice little dining room.

  There was no refrigerator only an ice box. Which Ace had to refill every morning before work, standing in a line for at least a half hour.

  It becomes part his life and he hardly thought about it.

  "I like your place"

  "Thanks, it is what it is"

  "It's better than the places I slept"

  "Do you want a beer"

  "Sure why not"

  Ace went to the icebox and pulled out a bottle and handed it to Hank

  "You don't drink"

  "No, not really any more"

  Hank opened the bottle and downed it in one sitting

  "Sorry I was thirsty, so who lives with you"

  "Just my mom, did you want to see her"

  "Does she still do readings"

  "Sometimes, she's pretty sick"

  Hank followed Ace to Jackie's bedroom door and he waited while Ace knocked softly

  "Ya, come in," said Jackie through the thin wooden door

  Ace and Hank entered and saw Jackie laying on her back, her bed had a thin white shit that covered her lower body. She was clothed in a black shirt and pants.

  Her bony shoulders stuck out and her neck was thin as a pencil. Her hair was grey almost white as it hung over her shoulders. The window was open and Jackie was looking out onto the small courtyard outside.

  "Someone came by today"

  "Who came by"

  Ace placed the medicine on the small table next to the bed, while Hank hung in the background. He was admiring the pictures on the wall of Ace's family.

  "Some men said they wanted to talk to you"

  "Me why"

  "Said you been using to much electrify, I told them to get lost"

  Ace smiled

  "Probably nothing"

  "That's what I said, I mean we don't use electrify hardly at all, my place is littered with candles, I'm afraid one of them will fall and I'll die in a fire"

  "You are not going to die Ma"

  Jackie turned to her son and smiled a motherly smile. IT lit Ace's heart when he saw her smile it always did.

  "I got your medicine"

  "Oh you did your such a good boy, but really don't need to do that"

  "It's OK, I want to"

  Jackie noticed Hank

  "There is someone else here"

  "Right you remember Hank Pill"

  Hank walked up to Jackie smiling he reached out his hand

  "Hank, of course, how are you, my boy"

  "Doing well Miss Sparks"

  "Hank wants to know if you will give him a reading"

  Jackie laughs and looks at Ace again

  "I haven't done a reading in years"

  "What are you talking about you did one last week"

  "Right, well I don't think I can"

  "Come on I brought him all the way to see you"

  Ace winked at Hank who brought a chair over and sat next to Jackie

  "All right let me get a better angle"

  Hank stuck out his hand and Jackie took it in her bony white hands. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Running her fingers over the younger man's hand. Her eyes opened and she looked at Hank who was looking comfortable.

  "So mom what do you see"

  Jackie takes a long pause

  "I see death"

  The relaxed look on Hank's face changed rapidly

  "All right enough of this"

  Ace got up and pulled at Hank to get him away from his mother's stare.

  The two young men walked out of the room and closed the door behind them

  "What the hell was that"

  "Listen there is something about Jackie you should know"

  "What"

  "She is losing it, she told the girl next door the same thing"

  "What if it's true"

  "It's not she is just seeing her own death"

  "I don't know I remember when we were young, your mother predicted when I got my bike stolen"

  "You lived in the ghetto, your bike was probably going to get stolen anyway"

  "I don't know"

  "Listen I got something to show you"

  Ace lead Hank to his room and when the lights got turned on Hank's mouth opened wide.

  "What the heck is all this stuff," said Hank pointing to the various computer equipment littered around the small bedroom. There was no sign of a bed which kind of disturbed Him.

  "This my friend is my laboratory, it's where I have access to the entire Angel bay"

  "You are a fucked up hacker"

  "That's right, the only one, the best of the best"

  "Where do you get this stuff"

  "I know a guy"

  Hank laughed

  "You are not going to tell me"

  "Of course not"

  Hank sat on the seat that was in front of the long desk which held three thin monitors.

  "Can it send email"

  "Don't be cute, this thing can get me anything I want"

  "I mean it's cool and everything, but the internet is super controlled"

  "There are ways around that"

  "You mean you have access"

  Ace nodded and turned on the computer it came alive with a chirp

  "Man so this is what you were doing while I was chasing girls"

  Ace smiled

  "I chased"

  "Hey it's cool, I believe you"

  Ace sighed knowing Hank meant the complete opposite

  "I don't do the chasing anymore"

  "What do you mean"

  Ace smiled a devilish smile, come here, Ace got up and walked over to the window. He pulled the blinds up and Hank looked out onto the Angel Bay street.

  "What am I looking at"

  "Just wait for a second"

  A beautiful cyborg beauty walks along the street and stands motionless

  "It's a cyborg so what"

  "Keep your eye on her"

  Ace leaves Hank and clicks a few buttons on the computer.

 
; Hank's eyes still glued on the Cyborg, then in a clean motion looked up at Hank who ducked out of the way.

  "So what do you think"

  "Think about what"

  "Do you want to meet her"

  "What the hell are you talking about"

  "I already sent her up here"

  Hank pulled the blinds down he didn't know to run or hit Ace.

  "You know I'm on the run"

  "Don't worry I hacked her, she does whatever I want"

  Hank heard a knock at the door

  "She is here"

  Chapter Seven

  The cyborg had a long body, she was maybe 6 foot at least, but she was quite feminine and shapely. Her legs were strong and her arms stretched down. Her face was perfect with a small nose and thick lips. She walked into the room and had to duck her head to enter.

  Hank backed up to the window, would he have to fight a cyborg there was no way they are invisible. They controlled the city with an iron fist and if they saw someone out after sunset they would capture them. Hank had heard from the homeless grays that the Cyborgs would go on killing sprees.

  "Relax man"

  "How can I relax there is a fucking cyborg right there"

  "I told you I control them, watch"

  "Tina stick out your hand"

  The beautiful cyborg reached out her hand

  "Tina now kneel"

  The cyborg did what she was told and Hank relaxed a little.

  "How the hell can you do that"

  "You already know I'm the best hacker in the world right"

  "No, really that's impossible"

  "Nothing is impossible if you know how to get what you want"

  "Listen, man, I just wanted to come up here so I can send a message to Nancy can I still do that"

  The ace smile faded and he was brought back down to earth

  "Sure ya, what's her contact info"

  Hank stayed on the walls as he moved his way to Ace, he placed the info into the computer.

  Ace went to the cyborg and started to comb her hair

  "How are you today, Tina"

  "I'm doing well today Sir"

  "That's a good robot now what do you want to do tonight Tina"

  "Stay with you"

  Ace smiled looking at Hank

  "You are a freak man"

  "These things are not human"

  "Yes but you are treating her like one"

  "That is not true my friend I treat her like an object"

  "Why"

  "Because that's what she is"

  "OK I get that, but you are going to get caught"

  "No, I'm not if those pigs try to arrest me Tina will protect me"

  "There are like hundred Tina's in this neighborhood alone you idiot"

  "I'm not an Idiot, I hacked a mother fucking cyborg"

  "I don't think you hacked anything, you need"

  "What did you call me"

  "I called you a nerd"

  "I bring you into my house and you have the balls to call me a nerd"

  "It's what you are"

  "Well I guess you're right about that"

  Hank and Ace began to laugh until a message binged on the computer

  "That was fast," said Hank reading the message from Nancy

  "What she says"

  "She wants to meet tonight"

  "Really, where is she"

  "City center"

  "Do you know where that is"

  "No, but it can't be far," said Hank

  "You can't be serious"

  "What do you mean, this might be the only chance I get to see her"

  "Why do you say that"

  "Look I'm sorry I should have told you, but Nancy is a green"

  "Your dating a green"

  Ace hated Greens more than any class they basically showed monkeys for the elites who had a special talent. They had no backbone and basically did whatever was asked of them. Worse than prostitutes using their talents in order to get a little more pie at the table.

  "What does this Nancy do"

  "She is an actor, a very good one"

  "You've seen her perform"

  "Yes up north before the accident she was touring with her theater group and I hardened to get a free ticket"

  "You want to see this Nancy, you know that it's impossible to go tonight, why can't you wait till morning."

  "She's leaving with her theater group again and this is the only time I will get to see her, she is going on Bliss"

  "I see what kind of plays does she do"

  "She is a Shakespearean actor manly that kind of stuff"

  "I don't know how I can help you"

  Hank's eyes fell onto the Cyborg

  "Why didn't we use her"

  "No fucking way"

  "You know I can just easily tell them about your little set up"

  "Hank are you trying to blackmail me"

  "I'm trying to see Nancy"

  "I don't want to risk my life because you want some pussy"

  "She is not just pussy I really love this girl"

  "Love is for wimps"

  Jackie started to moan in the other room and Ace jumped up

  "I'll be right back"

  Hank stared at the Cyborg who was still kneeling down

  "Is your name really Tina"

  The cyborg nodded

  In the next room, Ace went his mother's side and she was thrashing this way and that.

  He put his hand on her body to try to stop her thrashing

  "What's wrong"

  But Jackie continued to thrash

  Her mouth began to foam, Hank came running into the room

  "What the hell"

  "I think she is having a stroke"

  Hank ran over the other side of Jackie and held her down with Ace until she calmed a bit. But she still didn't look that good.

  "We have to call someone," said Hank

  "I can't have anyone in here"

  Ace knelt close to his mother but her face was gone her personality seemed to be replaced with that of a dying animal.

  Tears formed in the corner of Ace's face as he tried to make sense of what was happening.

  Hank stood and picked up the white medicine bag on the floor he read the label of the medicine.

  "Hey man you should look at this"

  Hank handed Ace the medicine vile

  "What is Cotinus coggygria"

  "That's smoke bush"

  Ace looked at his friend in confusion

  "It is very toxic, it's used as a poison"

  Anger began to form on Ace's face as he watched his mother die. He dropped the vile to the ground and ran to his room. Hank followed

  "What are you doing"

  Ace ignored him as he stood in front of Tina

  "Stand," he said to Tina

  The cyborg rose

  "I want you to kill Kevin Smart, ID code 839290"

  Tina's eyes flashed as she drank the information and then began to walk out of the room.

  "Wait, please wait"

  Ace stopped

  "Let's kill two birds with one stone"

  "Stop Tina"

  Ace turned to his friend

  "Let me get this straight you still want me to help you, my mother just died"

  "I know it's very selfish but help me out, he must live in the center city right"

  Ace sighed

  "it's your funeral"

  Chapter Eight

  Angel Bay at night was a totally different world. It was empty besides the cyborgs. The cyborgs were all female and they were built like Tina, their details were slightly different. Walking the streets behind the giant cyborg female was nerve wracking. Hank was doing this for love even though his mind was screaming, you are a damn fool.

  "Keep up prisoner 3392," said Tina

  Ace was in control but he had to make the transportation of Hank look believable if he is stopped by an officer it would be game over.

  "Are we almost there"

  "Shut
your face 3392"

  "Ace come on man, we've been walking for hours"

  Tina didn't answer, neither did Ace

  "Ace are you still there"

  Tina stopped and turned to Hank, her eyes seemed different something in Hank told him to run.

  A buzzing sound came from Tina and Ace spoke in a choppy frequency.

  "Keep going, the house is to the left"

  "She doesn't live here"

  "We are making a stop first"

  "No that wasn't part of the deal"

  "There is no deal, I'm in control"

  Tina grabbed Hank by the neck

  "I have to do this first"

  "Fine, just get her off me"

  Tina released Hank and then began to walk up to the apartment building she tried to open it but it was the lock.

  Her foot slams the door open with force and she walks in.

  Inside there are stairs and Hank climbs them one step behind the Cyborg until they reach a hallway of many different apartment buildings.

  The cyborg walks up to one and knocks on the door hard, there is no answer.

  "Open the Door, Kevin"

  The door opens, a face emerges from the small slit

  "I paid my rent"

  "Open the door"

  "Do you know who I am, I'm not some gray you can't come up here and harass me like this?" said Kevin

  "Open the door or I will do it for you"

  The door shuts and then unlocks, Keven stands in his underwear and wife beater. "Can you please tell me what this is about"

  Tina walks in and closes the door behind her, leaving Hank outside exposed.

  Tina then grabs Kevin by the neck and pushed him into the wall.

  "You poisoned my mother," said Ace through a very choppy frequency"

  "Ace, how did you, where are you"

  "Why did you poison my mom"

  Tina grip grew stronger and stronger

  "I didn't poison anyone"

  "Then why did you give me poison"

  "I was ordered to"

  "What are you talking about"

  "I was ordered by the royals"

  "Bullshit"

  "It's true, we were ordered to give it to all the grays of the apartment complex where you live"

  "Why would they want to poison us"

  "To clear you out for the arrival of Bliss"

  "Bliss the walking city"

  "Yes, the City doesn't have room so it needed to make room"

  "This makes no sense, What were they going to do with me and the others who didn't get medicine"

  "You will be killed also, they will send a squad of cyborgs tomorrow morning to clear you out"

  "It makes no sense"
