by M. Walsh

I felt nothing but contempt and disgust. Sloppy and trying too hard. Lamont had been interesting, but Audra was nothing. A child rebelling against her father by playing villain. And this ignorant brat thought she was like me? She believed herself my soulmate … a fellow monster who …

At that moment, something happened that turned my mood around. It was like some divine force lit a candle for me in the ugly dark, and at once I felt at peace. I felt the Itch and had a wonderful, wonderful idea.

What a project Audra Fay would make.

“You see..?” she said. “We belong together. We’re soulmates! We … we … why are you looking at me like that?”

It was a nice day after all.
